MONTHLY SUMMARY OF ISRAELI VIOLATIONS

01 October 2021 – 31 October 2021

The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 October 2021 to 31 October 2021. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only. 

Sample of Israeli Violations during the Month of  October  2021

10/01/2021: The Israeli occupation forces positioned in the vicinity of Jabal Sabih area in the town of Beita, fired live ammunition and rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settlers’ attacks and land confiscation for settlement projects, which led to the injury of 11 civilians, and left 17 civilians suffocated due to tear gas inhalation. 10/04/2021:  the Israeli occupation forces in charge of guarding the apartheid wall near the city of Qalqilya fired stun and tear gas canisters towards workers, while they were trying to enter to work inside the Green Line, and left 3 teachers {Youssef Odeh Basic School for Girls} suffocated as a result of inhalation tear gas. 10/05/2021: The Israeli occupation forces positioned in the vicinity of Gate No. (104) erected on the apartheid wall near the city of Tulkarm, fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens and as a result injured a citizen, and left a number others suffocated as a result tear gas inhalation. 10/07/2021: The Israeli occupation forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards  citizens, for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched a number of houses during their raid into Al-Far’a village. 10/10/2021:  the Israeli occupation forces positioned near the Yusufiya cemetery located next to Bab Al-Asbat (one of the doors leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque) in the Old City of Jerusalem fired stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens while they were performing the Maghrib and Isha prayers near the cemetery, in protest against the Israeli occupation forces who carried out excavations and exhumations of graves in preparation for turning them into a biblical garden, and as a result injured 2 citizens (including a paramedic) after they were struck by stun canisters fired by the Israeli occupation. 10/11/2021: An Israeli drone (unmanned aerial vehicle) fired at Gaza municipality crews, while they were trying to extinguish the fires burning in the garbage dump east of Juhr Ad-Dik town, southeast of Gaza City. 10/12/2021: The Israeli occupation forces positioned in the Bab al-Amoud area in Jerusalem, fired stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens for alleged stoning and as a result injured a child after he was struck by a stun grenade in the foot and he was admitted to the hospital for treatment.  10/12/2021: The Israeli occupation forces positioned near the western entrance to Silwad town opened fire towards a child: Yanal Haitham Amin Dar Saleh, 15 years old, as a result wounded him then detained him for alleged stoning. 10/14/2021: The Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards school’s students while they were returning to their homes, near the Al-Sawiya School, located adjacent to the main street, Nablus - Ramallah for alleged stoning , injuring a child. 10/14/2021:  the Israeli occupation forces positioned near Al-Anfaq Street in the city of Beit Jala, shot at two children and as a result killed the child Amja Usama Abu Sultan -16 years old, and the detained of the other. 10/25/2021: The Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens for alleged stoning during their raid into the town of Yabad and as a result inured a citizen: Muhammad Samih Abu Bakr, and 2 other citizens were injured {including 1 citizen who was assaulted by Israeli occupation forces and and the other was run over by a military vehicle}. 10/29/2021: the Israeli occupation forces positioned in the village of Beit Dajan fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settlers’ attacks and land confiscation for settlement projects and as a result left 19 civilians suffocated due to tear gas inhalation.

The majority of Israeli military raids were reported to have taken place in the districts of Jerusalem (13); Ramallah (50); Jenin (56); Tubas (4)Tulkarem (30); Qalqiliya (24); Nablus (54); Salfit (28); Jericho (10); Bethlehem (50); Hebron (48), Gaza (1 ), Khan Yunis (2) and Rafah(1).
Arrests	456	5	461	During the month of October 2021, the Israeli military arrested 461 Palestinians {456 in the West Bank and 5 in the Gaza Strip). The majority of arrests took place in the districts of  145 Jerusalem, 39 Ramallah, 26 Jenin, 8 Tubas,  12 Tulkarm,235 Qalqilya, 58  Nablus, 22 Salfit, 9 Jericho, 53 Bethlehem, 59 Hebron. 1 North Gaza, 2 Central Gaza,4 Gaza and 2Rafah, Among them: 26 children, 5 female citizens, 2 University Students and 4 Security Force Officers.
Temporary Detention	15		15	10/02/2021:  the Israeli occupation forces positioned at a sudden checkpoint at the entrance to Silwad town temporarily detained the citizen: Suzan Najeh Hammad - residents of Silwad town, and released her at 20:10. 10/03/2021: The Israeli occupation forces temporarily detained 3 citizens during the storming of the city of Al-Bireh, and later released them: Tawfiq Ahmed Omar, Ali Hani Abu al-Khair, and Amid al-Nahedh. 10/03/2021: The Israeli occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem issued a decision temporarily detained the citizen: Wissam Sidr - a resident of the city of Jerusalem, in addition to a fine of 4000 shekels, as a condition for his release after he was arrested earlier. 10/04/2021: The Israeli occupation forces detained the child, Muhammad Ataf Youssef Abdullah, 14{years old}, near the school of the village of Wadi Rahal, and released him after the intervention of the Palestinian military liaison. 10/05/2021:  the Israeli occupation forces temporarily detained the child: Jawdat Muhammad Al-Fawagra, 13 years old during their raid into Wadi Rahal village and released him at a later time. 10/05/2021: The Israeli occupation forces temporarily detained the child: Imad Hussein Kamel Jaradat {15 years old}, during their raid into the village of Zabouba, and released him at a later time. 10/07/2021:  The Israeli occupation forces positioned in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque temporarily detained the citizen: Muhammad Abu Al-Hummus - a resident of Al-Isawiya village, and released him at a later time. 10/18/2021: the Israeli occupation forces prevented Palestinian farmers from reaching their lands isolated behind the apartheid wall and belonging to the villages of Ezbet Al-Ashkar, Ezbet Al-Salman, Beit Amin, Sanria, and Azzun Atma, from reaching their lands to pick the olives, despite having obtained permits to enter them. 10/18/2021: The Israeli occupation forces temporarily detained 2 citizens: Hudhayfa Rami Abdel Razek and Qusai Shadi Jabewhile razing the road linking Al-Harayeq area and Bir Jaber, northeast of Tayasir village,r, and released them at 17:35. 10/19/2021: The Israeli occupation forces temporarily detained 2 citizens during their raid into Za'tara town: Omar Ahmed Muhammad Awad Abu Amiriyah and Muhammad Ahmad Awad Abu Amiriyah, and released them at 20:00. 10/28/2021: the Israeli occupation forces detained the child: Amir Natsheh, in the old city of Hebron, and released him after the intervention of the Palestinian military liaison.
Deportation	9		9	10/03/2021: The Israeli occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem issued a decision to deport the citizen: Medhat Al-Issawi - residents of Al-Isawiya village, from his home for a period of 18 days in addition to a fine of 2,500 shekels, as a condition for his release after she arrested him earlier. 10/08/2021:  the Israeli occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem issued a decision to deport the citizen: Muhammad Abu Al-Hummus - residents of Al-Isawiya village, for a period of two weeks from Bab Al-Amoud area in the Old City of Jerusalem, as a condition for his release after being investigated by the occupation police in Salah Street City religion. 10/10/2021: The Israeli occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem issued a decision to deport the citizen Sheikh: Ikrima Sabri - a resident of the city of Jerusalem, for a period of one week, from Al-Aqsa Mosque, after summoning him for investigation. 10/18/2021: The Israeli occupation forces issued a decision to expel the citizen: Jaafar Rafee Faqha, director of Al-Maleh School in the northern Jordan Valley, for 10 days, after being summoned and interrogated. 10/19/2021:  the Israeli occupation forces in the city of Jerusalem issued a decision to deport the citizen: Mustafa Abu Zahra (head of the Islamic Cemetery Committee in Jerusalem), for 10 days from Yusufiya cemetery, after they took him to interrogate the “Al-Maskobiya” detention and investigation center. 10/27/2021:  the Israeli occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem issued a decision to deport 2 citizens: Firas Al-Atrash and Ahmed Al-Taweel, for a period of two weeks, from the Yusufiya cemetery adjacent to Al-Aqsa Mosque, as a condition for their release after they had been arrested earlier. 10/28/2021: The Israeli occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem issued a decision to deport the citizen: Ahmed Dajani - Executive Director of the Cemeteries Committee, for a period of 15 days from all Jerusalem cemeteries. 10/29/2021: the Israeli occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem issued a decision to deport the citizen: Muhammad Abu al-Hummus - residents of the village of al-Isawiya, for a period of 15 days from Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem, and the settlers did not object for a period of 30 days, as a condition for his release after they detained him in earlier time.

Land Confiscation	2		2	10/06/2021:   Israeli forces confiscated an area of ​​the citizens’ agricultural lands, in the Western Valley area in the village of Al-Sawiya in favor of building a bypass road. 10/13/2021:  the Israeli occupation authorities issued the detailed plan No. 03/01/131, changing the detailed plan No. 131/06 to confiscate about 40 dunums of the citizens’ agricultural lands belonging to the village of Yasuf, in favor of expanding the settlement of “Kfar Tabwah”.
Home Demolition	14		14	10/01/ 2021: The Israeli occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem forced the citizen: Muhammad Yaqoub Ismail Yaghmour - residents of Al-Thawri neighborhood in Jerusalem, to demolish part of his house, consisting of a 50-square-meter living room, by himself, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid to pay heavy fines in the event that the occupation authorities carry out the demolition process, under the pretext of not having a permit. 10/03/ 2021: The Israeli occupation authorities in the town of Beit Hanina forced the citizen: Arafat Al-Rajabi to demolish his 50-square-meter house himself, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the occupation authorities carry out the demolition operation, on the pretext of not being licenced. 10/04/ 2021: he Israeli occupation authorities in the village of Sur Baher forced the citizen: Muhammad Ahmed Al-Khatib, to demolish his 80-square-meter house (under construction), after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the authorities Occupation with the demolition process, on the pretext of not having a license. 10/06/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces demolished the house of Muhammad Mahmoud Salim Matar, in the Ein Al-Loza area in the Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem, under the pretext of not having a license. 10/07/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces demolished 2 houses belonging to the two citizens: Murad Muhammad Zari and his brother Omranin the village of Bab Al-Shams near the town of Al-Zaim. 10/12/ 2021:  the Israeli occupation forces demolished a 45-square-meter house owned by: Suleiman Ibrahim al-Jahalin in the Abu al-Nawwar Bedouin community area, southeast of al-Eizariya. 10/14/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces demolished and confiscated the homes of Bedouin families, in the Bedouin community located east of Al-Mughayer village, in addition to agricultural facilities. 10/16/ 2021: The Israeli occupation authorities in the Wadi Al-Joz neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the family of the citizen: Hamza Bazbet to demolish an additional residential room in her house, after notifying her earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event the occupation authorities carry out the demolition. under the pretext of not having a license. 10/16/2021:  the Israeli occupation authorities in the Al-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the citizen: Salman Abu Sbeitan, to personally demolish his house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the occupation authorities carried out the demolition, on the pretext of not having a permit. 10/18/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces demolished, a house (under construction), owned by Ahmed Issa Taha Jawa'da near the racist separation wall, under the pretext of not having a license. 10/18/ 2021:  the occupation forces demolished a house owned by Iyad Amro, in the Farsh al-Hawa area, north of Hebron, under the pretext of not having a permit. 10/23/ 2021:  the Israeli occupation authorities in Wadi Al-Joz neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the citizen: Nader Jaber, to personally demolish his house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the occupation authorities carried out the demolition, on the pretext of not having a permit. 10/25/ 2021:  the Israeli occupation authorities in Wadi Al-Joz neighborhood in Jerusalem forced the citizen: Ismail Aramin, to personally demolish his house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event that the Israeli occupation authorities carried out the demolition, on the pretext of not having a license.
Land Levelling	2		2	10/06/ 2021:  the Israeli occupation forces razed, in the Khallet Hammoud area of ​​the village of Al-Sawiya, an area of ​​agricultural land for the benefit of settlement projects. 10/20/ 2021: the Israeli forces razed a 10-donum area of ​​agricultural land planted with olive saplings, in the Khallet al-Nahla area of ​​Wadi Rahal village, owned by Ibrahim Ebayat.

Settlement Activity	12	0	12	10/03/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces carried out engineering surveying works in the areas of Bakush, Al Sha’af, Hadaduna, and the Roman Patriarchate located west of the town of Al-Khader, which is estimated at hundreds of dunams of citizens’ agricultural lands, for the benefit of settlement projects. 10/06/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces razed an area estimated at 100 dunums of citizens' lands belonging to the village of Sebastia, located adjacent to the settlement of "Shafi Shamron", in favor of expanding the colony. 10/06/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces positioned near the town of Nahalin, carried out engineering surveying works on the citizens' agricultural lands, in favor of expanding the main street passing near the town. 10/06/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces built and expanded roads and built new settlement housing units in the colony of "Eli Zahav" in the lands of the town of Kafr ad-Dik. 10/07/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces razed the area of ​​Wadi Yasuf, located between the villages of Yasuf and al-Lubban al-Gharbiyye, in preparation for the establishment of a bus station linking the settlements established in the northern West Bank with the settlement of Ariel. As a result, 5 civilians were injured, and one of them was arrested. 10/10/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces razed and exhumed graves in the Yusufiya cemetery located near Bab Al-Asbat (one of the doors leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque) in the Old City of Jerusalem, in preparation for turning it into a biblical garden. 10/13/ 2021: The Planning and Construction Committee of the Occupation Municipality in the city of Jerusalem approved the appropriation of areas of citizens’ lands south of the city of Jerusalem, in favor of constructing public buildings, constructing roads and carrying out construction work for the benefit of the “Givat Hamatos” settlement. 10/14/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces continued razing the lands of the village of Kardala in the northern Jordan Valley, in addition to fencing its surroundings, in preparation for the establishment of a water tank belonging to the Israeli company "Makerot". 10/21/ 2021: The Israeli occupation forces began demolishing the old bus garage in the city of Hebron, in preparation for the establishment of a new settlement consisting of 31 housing units, within the occupied territories in 1967. 10/24/ 2021: the Israeli occupation authorities issued tenders for the construction of 1,355 new settlement housing units in the settlements established on the lands of the West Bank governorates (including “Beit El” settlement 346 settlement units, “Ariel” settlement 729 settlement units, and “Elkana” settlement 102 units Settlement, “Geva Binyamin” settlement 96 settlement units, “Emmanuel” settlement 57 settlement units, “Karni Shomron” settlement 22 settlement units, and “Betar Illit” settlement one settlement unit), within the occupied territories in 1967. 10/27/ 2021: The Higher Planning Council for Israeli Planning and Construction approved the construction of 3,144 new settlement units in the settlements established on the lands of citizens in the governorates of the West Bank, within the territories occupied in 1967. 10/29/ 2021:  the Israeli occupation authorities issued a decision to extend a 12 km water line between the settlements of “Rotem” and “Bekaot” which are built on citizens’ lands in the northern Jordan Valley region. West from Khirbet Makhoul, Al Hadidiyah, and the Eastern Buqi`ah Plain.

Killings

A total of  1 resident was killed by Israeli forces during the month of  October 2021 {1 in the West Bank and 0 in Gaza}:

10/14/2021: The child: Amjad Osama Abu Sultan, 16 years old was killed after Israeli occupation forces opened fire towards civilians near Al-Anfaq Street near the city of Beit Jala.

Injuries

A total of  62  injuries were reported in the month of October 2021 {62 Palestinians in the West Bank and 0 in the Gaza Strip).

  Including 3 children and 1 Journalist.

Arrests

During the month of October 2021, the Israeli military arrested 461 Palestinians {456 in the West Bank and 5 in the Gaza Strip). The majority of arrests took place in the districts of  145 Jerusalem, 39 Ramallah, 26 Jenin, 8 Tubas, 12 Tulkarm,23 Qalqilya, 58  Nablus, 22 Salfit, 9 Jericho, 53 Bethlehem, 59 Hebron. 1 North Gaza, 2 Central Gaza,4 Gaza and 2Rafah,

Among them: 26 children, 5 female citizens, 2 University Students and 4 Security Force Officers.

Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of October 2021 ,the Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).

 

The Israeli military installed 261  flying checkpoints in October 2021 ( compared 312 flying checkpoints in  September 2021 and compared 321 flying checkpoints in August 2021 and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

During the month of October  2021, the Israeli military demolished 14 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following:

• 10/10/ 2021: a group of Israeli settlers in Al-Masafer area, east of the town, attacked a number of citizens while they were in Al-Atara area, and expelled them from the place.
• 10/12/ 2021:  a group of Israeli settlers from the “Ma’on” settlement, which is located east of Yatta town, entered the citizens’ agricultural lands and cut down and uprooted 70 olive trees belonging to the citizen: Hafez Issa Al-Harini.
• 10/16/ 2021: a group of Israeli settlers, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces attacked a number of citizens while they were trying to reach their lands where the settlers resided in the Al-Atara area, located adjacent to the settlements of “Avigal”, “Susiya” and “Mitzpe Yair”, which were established on the lands of citizens, east of Yatta town and attempted to store a water tank to irrigate the trees I planted in the area, preventing them from reaching those lands and forcing them to leave.
• 10/28/ 2021: a group of settlers from the “Susya” settlement, which is located east of the town of Yatta, set up 3 mobile homes (caravans) on the citizens’ lands next to the colony, owned by the Al-Halis family.

 

 

Border crossings with Israel: were closed 108 times (Beit Hanoun - Erez crossing was open 26 times  , with the exception of humanitarian cases, the Shejaiya crossing - Nahal Oz was completely and unilaterally closed by the Israeli side on 01/04/2010, as well as the Muntar-Karni crossing was closed unilaterally from Before the Israeli side, on 02/03/2011, the Kerem Shalom-Kerem Shalom crossing opened for 21 days for the entry of food, humanitarian aid, fodder and a quantity of cooking gas, cement and iron for the benefit of UNRWA projects and internationally funded projects, while the Sufa crossing was closed throughout the month.

International outlets: (The return port - Rafah, with the Arab Republic of Egypt was open for 20 days during the month of October. Yasser Arafat International Airport is still destroyed and disrupted for several years).
