MONTHLY SUMMARY OF ISRAELI VIOLATIONS

01 October 2020 – 31 October 2020

The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 October 2020 to October 31 2020. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only.

Sample of Israeli Violations during the Month of October 2020

On 01.10.2020, Jawad Muhammad Abu Aziz - resident of Yatta town was injured and bruised, as a result of being run over by an Israeli police vehicle, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
On 01.10.2020, Adham Anwar Ahmad Al-Shaer - resident of Burqa village sustained a serious eye injury after he was shot by Israeli forces during clashes in Sebastia village.
On 02.10.2020, the occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades and tear gas, near the eastern (closed) entrance in the village of Kafr Qaddum, at the protesters in protest against the closure of the village entrance, under the pretext that it had been pelted with stones, wounding 15 citizens (Including 3 journalists), and a number of civilians suffocated due to tear gas inhalation.
On 02.10.2020, the occupying forces in charge of guarding the separation wall near the village of Far'oun severely beat Raafat Ghaleb Mansour - residents of Kafr Qalil village, which led to his injury - fractures in his foot and hand, and he was brought Hospital for treatment.
On 04.10.2020, the occupation forces positioned near the entrance to the town of Hizma opened fire towards and severely injured Amir Ghazi Joudeh Salah El-Din, 16 years old (seriously injured in the head - a fractured skull).
On 04.10.2020, Israeli forces injured (a 13-year-old child was hit by live bullets in the foot) clashes in the Al-Dhahr area of the town of Beit Ummar, near the settlement of "Karmi Tzur"
On 05.10.2020, the occupation forces present in the vicinity of the "Ainaf" checkpoint opened fire towards and killed Samir Ahmad Abdel-Jalil Hamidi 23 years old - resident of the town of Beit Lid.
On 08.10.2020, the child who was injured - as a result of a settler attack along road 60 near the "Daniel" settlement - is: Mahmoud Iyad Banat (one year old) - residents of Al-Arroub camp in Hebron governorate.
On 18.10.2020, the occupation forces, in front of Al-Aroub camp, fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades and tear gas towards the citizens at the entrance to the camp, under the pretext that they had been pelted with stones, which resulted in the injury of 3 children - suffocation cases due to inhaling tear gas as a result of falling gas bombs inside home of Al-Batat family.
On 22.10.2020, the occupation forces severely beat the citizen: Yusef Tariq Darwish - resident of the village of Al-Issawiya, in the city of Jerusalem, which led to his injuries and a tear in the right retina and fractures of the face, and he was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
On 25.10.2020, the child: Amer Abd Al-Rahim Sanoub, 18 years old - resident of Yatma village - Nablus governorate, was killed near the town of Turmusaya as a result of the occupation forces severely beating him with rifle butts on his neck from the back, after they arrested him after chasing him while driving a vehicle.
On 29.10.2020, the occupying forces, present in the vicinity of the Jalameh checkpoint, shot at a vehicle carrying 3 children: Mahmoud Ahmed Musa Khalil, 15 years old (seriously injured), Taha Shady Al-Samen, 16 years old, and Muhammad Zakaria Al-Zubeidi, 17 years old (all residents of Jenin camp)., seriously wounding (one of them -), under the pretext that unknown persons opened fire at the occupation forces in the vicinity of the checkpoint).
On 30.10.2020, the occupation forces fired live and metallic rubber-coated bullets, stun grenades and tear gas in the Bab Al-Zawiya area in Hebron city at the citizens, under the pretext that they were pelted with stones, wounding a child: Nidal Muhammad Al-Zughayer{ 17 years old}, and injuring a number of citizens - suffocation due to inhaling tear gas

In addition, Israeli navy vessels carried out 23 attacks on Palestinian fishermen.

Deportation	14	-	14	During the month of October 2020 Israeli Authorities deported 14 residents from their place of residence which included the following: On 10/01/2020, the occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem imposed deportation of the citizen: Hisham Al-Bashiti - residents of the city of Jerusalem, for a period of 3 months from Al-Aqsa Mosque, as a condition for his release after they arrested him earlier. On 05.10.2020 The occupation authorities in Jerusalem imposed deportation of the citizen: Raafat Samih Muhammad Najib - Sakka, the Old City of Jerusalem, for a period of 5 months from Al-Aqsa Mosque and the roads leading to it. On 13.10.2020,the occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem imposed deportation of 2 children (siblings), for a period of 10 days from the Old City of Jerusalem, in addition to house detention for a period of 5 days, as a condition for their release after they arrested them earlier Abd al-Rahman al-Bashiti, 16, and his brother Hatem, 17 On 13.10.2020,, the occupation authorities in Jerusalem imposed deportation on the citizen: Issa Bashir Musa Fairawi, for a period of 10 days from the Old City of Jerusalem, in addition to a fine of 6000 shekels. On October 15, 2020, the occupation authorities in Jerusalem imposed a decision to deport the citizen: Asaad Ajaj, for a week from Al-Aqsa Mosque, as a condition for his release after they detained him earlier. On the evening of 10/19/2020, the occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem issued a decision to deport 2 citizens Issa Barakat and Saed Al-Salamat (from the Al-Aqsa Mosque guards), for a week from their workplace in Al-Aqsa Mosque, as a condition for their release after they detained them earlier. On 10/28/2020, the occupation authorities in Jerusalem issued a decision to deport the citizen: Najeh Bikirat (Deputy Director General of the Jerusalem Endowments) for a week from Al-Aqsa Mosque, as a condition for his release after he was arrested earlier.

On 10/14/2020, the occupation forces detained 2 citizens while they were grazing sheep in the northern Jordan Valley, and released them later: Ahmed Hussein Zuhdi Daraghmeh and Iyad Fawzi Abu Mutawa. On 10/17/2020, the occupation forces detained the elderly citizen: Suleiman Al-Hathalin, 75 years old, in Al-Musafir area, east of Yatta. On the evening of 10/21/2020, the occupation forces detained 3 citizens during the storming of Sebastia village, and released them at a later time: Ramzi Nasser Al-Hajj, Ali Maher Ghazal, and Khaled Nadi Azem. On 10/24/2020, the occupation forces detained, in the Al-Maleh area in the northern Jordan Valley, citizen: Ahmed Abdel-Rahman Qassem Khalil, while he was grazing sheep. On 10/24/2020, the occupation forces detained near Bardala village in the northern Jordan Valley, citizen: Usama Muhammad Saleh Sawafta On 10/27/2020, the occupying forces detained a number of Palestinian National Economy Ministry employees at Al Mahkama checkpoint near the settlement of Beit El, north of Al-Bireh, after they stopped a bus carrying a government registration plate belonging to the ministry. On the morning of 10/29/2020, the Israeli occupation forces detained the citizen: Fadi Al-Mutamour, in Wadi Al-Joz neighborhood in Jerusalem, and released him at a later time. On the evening of 10/29/2020, the occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem imposed house detention on 2 citizens for a period of 5 days, as a condition for their release, namely: Jihad Qus and Rouhi Kulghasi.

Flying Checkpoints	369	-	369	The Israeli military set up 369 Flying checkpoints in the month of October 2020 and searched Palestinian civilians and vehicles in and around Palestinian residential areas in the districts of Jerusalem (11); Ramallah (32); Jenin (10);Tubas (1), Tulkarem (3); Qalqiliya (38); Nablus (15); Salfit (41); Jericho (21); Bethlehem (122) and Hebron (75).
Destruction of Public and Private property	30	-	30	Damages included home furniture, vehicles, Olive trees, barrack’s and demolished structures.
Confiscation of Public and Private property	16	-	16	Confiscations included vehicles, surveillance camera footage, private property and equipment.
Land Confiscation	4	-	4	On 09.120.2020, the occupation forces issued a military order to confiscate the lands of citizens in the Zohr Subuh area of Kafr al-Dik town, in favor of settlement projects. On 11/10/ 2020, the occupation authorities announced the amendment of the borders of lands in the village of Arab al-Ta'amrah (including natural basin (2), Fattoura site, Qanani Suqir, Ruman, Al-Aradiyat, Al-Ghazlan, and a natural basin (4), Mashat Al-Anziat, Waer Kharitoun, and Tawaki Ain Al-Natuf, Sha'ab Al-Ain, and Khallat Saleh - from the lands of Arab Al-Tamrah), with the aim of seizing them in favor of expanding the borders of the colony of "Tekoa". On 10/15/2020, the occupation forces confiscated 11200 dunums in favor of settlement projects to establish 3 nature reserves (the first is located east of the Ein Al-Hilweh and Al-Farsiya regions (between the settlements of "Maskyout" and "Rotem") in the northern Jordan Valley in Tubas governorate, the second in the Deir Hajla area and the third Near the settlement of "Masuah" established on citizens' lands south of the village of Al-Jiftlik in the Jericho governorate. On 10/26/2020, the occupation authorities approved a detailed structural plan to seize tens of dunams of lands from the Jebjab and Khallet Abu Harith regions, belonging to the village of Battir and the two north of it, in favor of settlement projects.

Home Demolition	15	-	15	On 10/08/2020, the occupation authorities in the Shuafat neighborhood in the city of Jerusalem forced the Burqan family to demolish their home themselves, after notifying them earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event the occupation authorities carried out the demolition, under the pretext of not having a permit. On 10/18/2020 the occupying forces demolished in the area of Fakhit, southeast of Yatta, a house measuring 70 square meters, in addition to (Brix) an area of 200 square meters and a tent used for livestock feed, owned by the citizen: Akram Sari Abu Sabha. On 10/18/2020, the occupation forces demolished a tent used for housing in the Al-Rukayz area, southeast of Yatta, and seized it owned by the citizen: Murad Hamamda. On 10/19/2020, the occupying forces demolished the Umm Asish bridge area in Khirbet al-Farisiya in the northern Jordan Valley, (Brix) used for housing, and confiscated a private vehicle and a generator owned by the citizen: Raddad Hamid Daraghmeh, and also destroyed a water spring that was restored more than 7 years ago. On 10/26/2020 the occupying forces demolished during their raid into Al-Taybeh village, a house (under construction) of an area of 130 square meters, owned by: Ahmed Mahmoud Ali Jabareen, under the pretext that it was not licensed and was located near the separation wall. 10/27.2020, the occupation forces demolished in the Wadi Al-Awar area near the town of Bani Na`im, a house consisting of two rooms belonging to the citizen: Bilal Al-Ajlouni, under the pretext of not being licensed, and because it is located in the area classified (C) under Israeli control. On 10/28/2020, the occupation forces demolished in the Arab al-Jahalin community in Wadi Abu Hindi in the lands of al-Eizariya town, a house owned by: Omar Suleiman al-Hammadin, under the pretext of not being licensed, because it was located in the area classified (C) under the Israeli control.\ On 10/28/2020 the occupation forces demolished a house owned by: Muhammad Omar Tarshan, in Sur Baher village, under the pretext of not having a permit. On 10/28/2020, the occupation forces demolished in the Al-Barriya area east of Al-Sawahrah Al-Sharqiya, 2 of the homes owned by two citizens: Shaker Al-Sarkhi and Ismail Khalil Hathalin, under the pretext of not being licensed, and they were located in the area classified (C) under Israeli control.
Attacks on Religious Sites	26	-	26	Israeli settler raided the vicinity of Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem on several occasions. On 10/15/2020, the occupation forces raided the Al-Adhami Mosque, located on Sultan Suleiman Street, in Jerusalem. On 10/25/2020, the occupation police forced a number of worshipers to leave the Bab al-Rahma prayer hall in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and prevented them from praying inside it. On October 26, 2020, during the storming of Bir al-Basha village, the occupation forces raided Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Mosque, located on the main street in the village, and took measurements of the mosque's roof
Settlement Activity	12	-	12	On 10.11.2020, the occupation forces set up a barbed wire fence, 150 meters long and 2.5 meters high, along the main road that passes along the northern entrance to Tuqu 'town. On 04.10.2020, the occupation authorities, near the western entrance to the village of Sur Baher, south of Jerusalem, approved a new plan to establish 450 new housing settlement units. The plan will include building commercial and public facilities in what the occupation authorities call the "Arnona slopes" neighborhood between the two settlements of Ramat Rachel and Talpiot. On 10/06/2020, a group of settlers, on the lands of Beit Dajan village, installed 5 caravans and a cowshed barn, as well as extended water transmission lines to supply them with water from the "Alon Moriah" settlement, with the aim of establishing an agricultural settlement outpost. On 10/08/2020, a group of settlers swept away an area of land belonging to the village of Sirta owned by Hamed Salah, near the settlement of "Barkan - Industrial", with the aim of expanding the colony. On 12/10/2020, the occupation authorities approved the construction of 500 new settlement housing units in the settlement of "Tzur Hadassah", at the expense of the citizens' lands belonging to the village of Wadi Fukin. On 12.10.2020, settlers, with the protection of the occupation forces, in the Old City of Hebron, placed an old stone inscribed with the Talmudic menorah at the entrance to the Qazzazin market in the city. On 13. 10. 2020, a group of settlers installed additional caravans, bringing the total number to 8 caravans on an area of the citizens' lands belonging to the village of Kisan, which they seized earlier, with the aim of establishing a new settlement outpost. On 13. 10. 2020, the occupation forces began excavating and erecting a fence in the vicinity of the archaeological area surrounding Jabal Al-Fardis and the lands of the town of Za'tara and the village of Beit Taamer, which will lead to sabotaging the water and electricity networks, obstructing traffic and destroying agricultural lands. Closure of Crossing Points
