MONTHLY SUMMARY OF ISRAELI VIOLATIONS

01 March 2021 – 31 March 2021

The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 March 2021 to 31 March 2021. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only. 

Sample of Israeli Violations during the Month of  March  2021

03/03/2021: the Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition, metal-coated rubber bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens for alleged stoning and as a result wounded 3 civilians (including 2 children) during their raid into A-Fawwar camp. 03/08/2021:the Israeli occupation forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens for alleged stoning, as they stormed a number of houses during their raid into Ramallah and Al-Bireh cities and as a result wounded 3 civilians. 03/08/2021: the Israeli occupation forces positioned in the Abu Sud area, west of the town of Al-Khader opened fire towards a number of citizens for alleged stoning and as a result wounded 2 children: Mohamed Rami Salah, 17, and Khaled Khalil Ghoneim, 17.  03/09/2021: the Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades and tear gas towards citizens for alleged stoning while they were trying to confront a group of settlers who expelled a citizen from his land in Deir Nizam village, which resulted left a number of citizens suffocated from tear gas inhalation. 03/09/2021: a 15-year-old boy, a resident of Tubas, was injured and burned in the hand and face by a suspicious object left behind by the Israeli occupation forces, which they left during their raid two days ago. 03/09/2021: Alaa Atallah Ataimat - a resident of the Khasham Al-Daraj area located east of Yatta, was injured as a result of the explosion of a suspicious object from the remnants of the Israeli occupation army while he was grazing sheep, and he was admitted to the government hospital in Hebron for treatment. 03/09/2021: The child: Hamza Ammar Siyaj, 14 years old, a resident of the Old City of Hebron, was admitted to the Hebron Governmental Hospital, as a result of his injury and a broken hand, as a result of his fall while being pursued by the Israeli occupation forces in the Old City of Hebron. 03/11/2021the Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades and tear gas towards citizens for alleged stoning as they stormed a number of houses during their raid into Dheisheh camp in Bethlehem, and as a result wounded 3 civilians. 03/17/2021: The citizen: Ali Musa Jahalin's fingers were amputated as a result of the explosion of a suspicious object left over from the Israeli occupation forces while he was grazing sheep in east of Jericho city and was hospitalized at a government hospital in Beit Jala city in the Bethlehem governorate. 03/12/2021: the Israeli occupation forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens demonstrating against the confiscation of lands in favor of settlement projects in the Ain Al-Bayda area east of Yatta and as a result left several citizens suffocated from tear gas inhalation. 03/12/2021:,the Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards the citizens participating in a demonstration against the confiscation of land for settlement projects in the village of Beit Dajan and as result left several demonstrators suffocated from tear gas inhalation.(including a child) and assaulted 3 citizens (including the Minister of Labour - Nasser Abu Jaish) and injured Bassam Mufleh Hamed, Hamza Musa Abu Thabit, Ahmed Faik Hanaysheh, 17 years old, Khair El Din Khulousi Haj Muhammad. 03/13/2021:the Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition and metal bullets, coated with rubber, stun grenades and tear gas, on the eastern side of the village of Burin, while they were trying to confront a group of settlers of the settlement outpost "Givat Ronin" after they attacked citizens' homes and demolished part of a house (under construction) and as a result injured 2 civilians:Ahmed Muhammad Rashid and Khaled Muhammad Kanaan 03/14/2021:  the Israeli occupation forces in charge of guarding the Segregation Wall near the town of Habla fired tear gas canisters at several citizens while they were trying to enter to work inside the Green Line and as a result, Ibrahim Ahmad Tawfiq Hamayel {a resident of Beita town in Nablus governorate suffered a fractured skull after he was struck in the head by a teargas canister and he was admitted to the government hospital in Qalqilya for treatment. 03/16/2021:the Israeli occupation forces fired live and metal bullets, coated with rubber, sound and tear gas canisters towards citizens while they were demolishing a granite store and a store on Airport Street during their raid into the town of Kafr Aqab and as a result injured 11 civilians and left 31 others suffocated due to tear gas inhalation. 03/19/2021:the Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated metal bullets ,stun grenades and tear gas canisters towards citizens participating in a demonstration against settler attacks and confiscation of lands for settlement projects in Beit Dajan village and as a result killed a citizen: Atef Yousef Bakr Hanaisheh, 45 years old as a result of a bullet wound to the head and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation. 03/24/2021:the Israeli occupation forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards citizens for alleged stoning as they stormed a number of houses during their raid into Bir Nabala town and as a result injured 2 citizens while they were working in a vehicle maintenance workshop. 03/26/2021: the Israeli occupation forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards demonstrators protest against the closure of the eastern (closed) entrance in the village of Kafr Qaddum for alleged stoning and as a result wounded a child Khaled Murad Shteiwi, 15 years old - after a stun canisters fired by Israeli forces struck his foot and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation. 03/27/2021: the citizen: Mahmoud Yasser Qasrawi - a resident of Masliah village - was left bleeding and sustained head wounds after falling as a result of his being pursued by the Israeli occupation forces near the apartheid wall near Rummana, and he was admitted to the government hospital in Nablus for treatment.

Arrests	458	5	463	During the month of March 2021, the Israeli military arrested 463 Palestinians (458 in the West Bank and 5 in the Gaza Strip). The majority of arrests took place in the districts of Jerusalem (135); Ramallah (50); Jenin (51); Tubas (4), Tulkarem (24); Qalqiliya (21); Nablus (36); Salfit (12); Jericho (10); Bethlehem (55); Hebron (60), North Gaza (2), Gaza (1) and Khan Yunis (2). Among those arrested by the Israeli military were 18 children, 3 Womens, 2 university students, 5 Security Force Officers.
Deportation	5	-	5	During  the month of March 2021 Israeli Authorities deported 5residents from their place of residence which included the following:   On 01/03/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in Jerusalem imposed the deportation of citizenship: Khadija Khwais - residents of the city of Jerusalem, for a period of 6 months from Al-Aqsa Mosque, as a condition for her release after she was detained earlier. On 12/03/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in Jerusalem issued decisions to deport 2 citizens Omar Al-Zughayer and Khaled Riyadh Al-Issawi - Head of the Preaching Department And guidance in Al-Aqsa Mosque.- residents of Jerusalem, for a week from Al-Aqsa Mosque, as a condition for their release after they were detained earlier. On 13/03/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities in Jerusalem issued a decision to banning the citizen: Shadi Amira - residents of Sur Baher village, for a period of 15 days from Al-Aqsa Mosque, as a condition for his release after detaining him earlier. Settlement Activity	7	-	7	07/03/2021, a group of settlers from the settlements of "Maon" and "Carmiel", which are located on the citizens' lands belonging to the Umm al-Khair and al-Tawani areas, east of Yatta, excavated and bulldozed an area of ​​agricultural land owned by the Buhais family, with the aim of expanding the two settlements. 13/03/2021,the Israeli occupation forces swept large areas of Palestinian lands belonging to the town of Qabalan and the village of Yatma, with the aim of expanding the colony of "Rahalim". On the morning of 14/03/2021, the Israeli occupation forces razed an area of ​​Palestinian land east of Khirbet Zanuta village, east of the town of Dhahriya, with the aim of expanding the industrial zone of the "Colonial Regional Council" located in the south of Hebron governorate. 17/03/2021,the Israeli occupation forces in the Old City of Hebron demolished an old building opposite the Tomb of the Patriarchs, an area that the occupation forces consider a closed military zone, and prevent the Reconstruction Committee from entering and restoring the buildings there. On 17/03/2021, the Israeli occupation forces set up a billboard on the airport road in the town of Kafr Aqab on the establishment of a new settlement project in the area, including the construction of a sports complex and a settlement park on the lands of citizens in the area. On 24/03/2021,The Israeli occupation forces swept away an area estimated at 3 dunums of agricultural land owned by Obiyat family and located near the settlement outpost of "Abi Hanahl" in the village of Kisan, south of the town of Tuqu ' with the aim of expanding its entrance.
Land Confiscation	4	-	4	03/03/2021,the Israeli occupation forces distributed military orders to confiscate tens of dunams of citizens' lands in the Birin area, south of the town of Bani Naim, and declared them government land since 1982. On 05/03/2021, the Israeli occupation forces issued a military order requiring the confiscation of 658,345 dunums of citizens' lands in Basin No. (6) in the Wadi al-Nar area of ​​the town of Al-Abidiya, for the purpose of establishing a water complex for settlements in the areas of the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley. On 14/03/2021, the Israeli occupation authorities approved the confiscation of a plots ​​citizens lands which included plots (3) and (4) in the Al-Matsiyya and Khirbet al-Kabra area of ​​the town of Nahalin, and Basin and plot (3) in the Wadi Abu Al-Hamra area of ​​Husan village adjacent to the settlement of "Beitar " for settlement expansion purposes. Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of December 2020,he Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).

The Israeli military installed 301 flying checkpoints in March 2021 ( compared with 307 in the month of February 2021 and compared with 480 flying checkpoints in January  2021 and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.
