The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 July 2019 to July 31 2019. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only.

Analysis of Events
Killings
A total of 4 residents were killed by Israeli forces during the month of July 2019 {2 in the West Bank and 2 in Gaza}:
- July 11th 2019: Israeli forces killed Mahmoud Ahmad Sabri Al-Adham {28 years old} {a resident of Jabaliya town} after Israeli forces opened fire towards east Beit Hanoun town.
- July 15th 2019: The child: Tarik Thabaniyat {7 years old} {a resident of Tarqumiya town} was killed by an Israeli settler who ran him over with his vehicle while travelling along the main road near "Adora" settlement.
- July 16th 2019:Nassar Majed Omar Taqatqa {a resident of Beit Fajjar town} died while he was in solitary confinement at Nitzan prison after he was detained from his home in Beit Fajjar town as mentioned in the report of June 19th 2019.
- July 26th 2019: Israeli forces killed Ahmad Mohammad Abdallah Al-Qara {a resident of Bani Suhayla town} during clashes in east Khuza'a town located in east Khan Yunis.
Injuries
A total of 329 injuries were reported in the month of July 2019 (69 in the West Bank and 260 in the Gaza Strip). Injuries included 11 children,1 Woman, 3 Journalist’s and 3 Paramedics.
Arrests
During the month of July 2019, the Israeli military arrested 484 Palestinians (468 in the West Bank and 16 in the Gaza Strip). The majority of arrests took place in the districts of Jerusalem (151); Ramallah (57); Jenin (51); Tulkarem (24); Qalqiliya (23); Nablus (32); Salfit (20); Jericho (11); Bethlehem (44); Hebron 55),North Gaza (8), Gaza (1), Central Gaza (1); Khan Yunis (6) and Rafah (1). Among those arrested by the Israeli military were: 25 children, 5 women, 1 University Student, 1 Journalist, and 9 Security Force Officers.
Closure
Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of July 2019 the Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).
The Israeli military installed 383 flying checkpoints in July 2019 (compared with 238 in June 2019 and 217 in May 2019) and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

The Israeli military set up 383 Flying checkpoints in the month of July 2019 and searched Palestinian civilians and vehicles in and around Palestinian residential areas in the districts of Jerusalem (14); Ramallah (44); Jenin (6), ,Tulkarem (3), Qalqiliya (57); Nablus (73); Salfit (46); Jericho (14); Bethlehem (64) and Hebron (62).
Raids
The Israeli military carried out a total of 444 raids in Palestinian residential areas during the month of July 2019, including 440 in the West Bank and 4 in the Gaza Strip. The majority of Israeli military raids were reported to have taken place in the districts of Jerusalem (57); Ramallah (60); Jenin (50); Tubas (5); Tulkarem (46); Qalqiliya (23); Nablus 46); Salfit (22); Jericho (6); Bethlehem (45); Hebron (80), North Gaza (2), Khan Yunis (1) and Rafah (1).
Attacks
A total of 165 attacks were reported to have taken place during the month of July 2019 (91 in the West Bank and 74 in the Gaza Strip).
The Israeli military carried out 51 attacks from Israeli military post on civilian homes and property, 40 from Military checkpoints towards Palestinian residents and vehicle and 51 during raids into Civilian populated areas. In addition, Israeli navy vessels carried out 23 attacks on Palestinian fishermen and territory.

Attacks on residential areas in West Bank and Gaza districts
Home Demolition
During the month of July 2019, the Israeli military demolished 18 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following:
- July 8th 2019: Israeli forces stormed Khirbeit Al-Qut area located in east Beit Ummar town and demolished a home {under construction} owned by Mohammad Khalil Abdel-Fattah Sabarna for allegedly being built without a license}.
- July 9th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Rashid Ismail Abu Hadid inn Khirbiet Birouq area located in North East Yatta town for allegedly being built without a licence.
- July 17th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a section of a home owned by Yusef Hussien Abu Diya in Al-Jib village for allegedly being built without a licence.
- July 21st 2019: Israeli forces demolished 2 tents {used as homes} and a livestock den owned by Najeh Ka'abna in Khirbiet Hadid village located in the North Jordan valley.
- July 22nd 2019: the Israeli occupation forces demolished 11 residential buildings (including dozens of apartments) in the Wadi al-Homs area in the village of Sur Baher, pursuant to the Israeli court's decision to demolish 16 residential buildings on the pretext of proximity to the separation wall. Most of the buildings that were demolished within Area A are under complete Palestinian sovereignty according to the Oslo Agreement, and are licensed by the Ministry of Local Government. The demolished buildings are owned by: Ghaleb Abu Hadwan - a two-story building, 2 apartments and 3 Shops and parking spaces ", Ismail Obaidiya - a two-story building, Ali Khalil Hamada, 3-storey building, Na'im Muslim - two-story building, Alaa 'Amira - house, Akram Zawahra - 3-story building and roof, Bilal al-Kiswani - house, Ra'fat' Ubaydat A 9-story building (5 floors of which were destroyed by explosives). The clashes took place with the citizens. Ten Palestinians were injured and bruised. They were taken to the hospital and a citizen was temporarily detained then released him at a later time.
- July 30th 2019: Israeli forces demolished 3 residential tents owned by: Soliman Jamil Soliman Mafdi, Ayman Izzat Yusef Bani Odah in addition to demolishing 3 tents {used to store livestock} and solar panels used for electrical generators owned by Ayman Izzat Bani Odah in Ras Al-Ahmar area located in the North Jordan valley.
Attack on Public and Private Property
Attack on Public and Private property occurred as follows per District:
Jerusalem:
- On July 9th 2019, Israeli forces demolished foundations and columns of building as well as levelling a plot of land approximately 700 m2 owned by Daoud Odwan in Al-Shiekh Anbar neighbourhood in Al-Za'im town for allegedly being built without a licence.
- At dawn on July 10th 2019, Israeli forces demolished a cement wall in Talabas neighbourhood in Hizma town for allegedly being built without a licence.
- On July 11th 2019, Israeli forces demolished an agricultural storage den owned by Mahmoud Rashid Nabhan {a resident of Qalandiya camp} in Kafr Aqab town.
- At dawn on July 15th 2019, Israeli forces demolished foundations to a building {under construction} owned by Muhanad Shqerat in Al-Sawahrat Al-Sharqiya village {for allegedly being built without a licence}.
- On July 17th 2019, Israeli forces demolished 4 merchant shops owned by Mohammad Al-Abbassi in Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without a license.
- On July 17th 2019, Israeli forces demolished a storage den and a car wash owned by Wadah Abu Diya in Al-Jib village for allegedly being built without a license.
- On July 17th 2019, Israeli forces demolished a car wash owned by Murad Saed in Sur Baher village for allegedly being built without a license.
- On July 30th 2019, Israeli forces demolished a concrete fence and removed barbed wire from a plot of land owned by Eyad Al-Ju'ba in Al-Nabi Samauel village.
Tubas:
- On July 8th 2019, Israeli forces stormed Kardala village located in the North Jordan valley area and issued a military order to halt construction on a water well which supplies the village with drinking water.
- On July 21st 2019, Israeli forces demolished 2 tents {used as homes} and a livestock den owned by Najeh Ka'abna in Khirbiet Hadid village located in the North Jordan valley.
- On July 24th 2019, Israeli forces served a military order to halt construction on a home and a water well owned by Mansour Khalid Mahmoud Daraghma in Einoun area located in the North Jordan valley east of Tubas city.
- On July 30th 2019, Israeli forces demolished 3 tents {used to store livestock} owned by Soliman Jamil Soliman Mafdi and Ayman Izzat Yusef Bani Odah and destroyed solar panels used for electrical generators owned by Ayman Izzat Bani Odah in Ras Al-Ahmar area located in the North Jordan valley.
Tullkarem:
- On July 9th 2019, Israeli forces issued military orders to evict and remove the foundations of buildings (under construction) from a plot of land, and to return the land to what it was prior to the construction. The plot of land is owned by Husni Qassim Barabrat {a resident of Bal'a town}, and Muhammad Yasin Mahmoud Yassin, {a resident of 'Ezbat al-Jarad.
Nablus:
- On the morning of July 28th 2019, Israeli forces destroyed part of a tourism project aimed at rehabilitating Al-Baidar Square near the archaeological site during their raid into Sabastiya village.
Qalqiliya:
- On July 10th, 2019, Israeli forces demolished an agricultural storage den owned by Othman Daud Mohammad Ahmad for allegedly being built without a license during their raid into Izbit Salman village.
Salfit:
- At dawn on July 25th 2019, Israeli forces demolished a car wash {which includes 200 of concrete pavement} owned by Nadi Hassan Saleh Suliman located near the west entrance of Harris village for allegedly being built without a license because of its location in area C {which is under Israeli Military and Administrative control}.
Bethlehem:
- On July 17th 2019, Israeli forces demolished 2 livestock dens in Husan village for allegedly being built without a license.
- Hebron:
- On July 2nd 2019, Israeli forces prevented construction workers from doing rehabilitation work on the home of Ali Al-Nathar which is located along Al-Shuhada road in the old city of Hebron And forced them to take out the materials used in the repair work outside the area.
- On July 3rd 2019, Israeli forces raided Khasm Al-Daraj and Um Al-Khier villages located in east Yatta town and levelled a Nature Reserve which was established in 2006 which contains a children playground, approximately 30000 trees and 10 water wells during which they assaulted Suliman Al-Hathalin as he was attempting to prevent the demolition and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.
- On the morning of July 4th 2019, Israeli forces stormed Khirbeit Al-Daqiqa village located in south Yatta town and levelled a Nature reserve located on land approximately 150 dunums and also demolished a water well.
- On July 10th 2019, Israeli forces demolished an agricultural storage den owned by Thiyab Mustafa Al-Bartan located near the wall in Ithna town.
- On July 16th 2019, Israeli forces stormed Wadi Al-Gharous area near "Kiryat Araba" settlement in the old city of Hebron and demolished irrigation pools approximately 4500 cubic litres owned by Ibrahim Nimr Al-Ja'bari.
- On July 16th 2019, Israeli forces demolished a livestock den owned by Ahmad Musa Hamawdat in Khirbiet Ghiyoun village located in south Al-Samou' town.
- On July 24th 2019, Israeli forces demolished 4 water wells and uprooted several trees in a Nature reserve area located in Um Al-Khier village in east Yatta town after allegedly conducting military training in the area.
- On July 25th 2019, Israeli forces levelled a plot of land owned by Badran Badr Jaber, Adel Rashid Jabr and Shadi Fihmi Jaber {approximately 16 dunums} planted with Tomatoes located in Al-Buqa'a area in east Hebron city for allegedly searching for illegal water pipelines in the area.
Confiscation of Property:
Jerusalem:
- On July 13th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Mohammad Khalil Mutier near Al-Eizariya town roundabout.
Jenin:
- On July 1st 2019, Israeli forces confiscated a tractor owned by Murad Mir'i Ma'rat after detaining him during their raid into Maythaloun town.
Tubas:
- On July 17th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated 8000 NIS from the home of Yaseen Abdel-Raheem Bishirat during their raid into Tammoun town.
- On July 29th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated a water well drilling rig in Bardala village located in the North Jordan valley.
- On July 30th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated 2500 NIS from the home of Nader Mustafa Sawafta during their raid into Tubas city.
- On July 30th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated several tents {used for housing lie stock} in Ras Al-Ahmar area located in the North Jordan valley and confiscated the Identification cards of Ayman Rabah Gharib Bani Odeh, Ahmed Mahmoud Saad Musallmani, Rashid Khalid Rashid Sawafta, and confiscated a cell phone owned by Fawzi Faraj Abdul Khaleq Abu Zeina.
Tulkarem:
- On July 13th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle as they stormed and searched the home of Othman Bassis during their raid into Shwikat neighbourhood in Tulkarem city.
- On July 15th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated 1000 NIS from the home of Ammar Ameen Al-Khouli during their raid into Tulkarem camp in Tulkarem city.
Qalqiliya:
- On the afternoon of July 9th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated a bulldozer owned by Suhayeb Jamal as he was doing construction work on agricultural land owned by Barham family located in the North east area of Kafr Qaddum village.
Nablus:
- On July 10th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated a solid waste truck and tractor owned by Beit Furik town council while heading to the landfill in the Khirbet Tana area east of the town.
- On July 10th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated a tractor owned by Fayad Jawabra near Assira Al-Shamaliya town.
- On July 18th 2019, Israeli forces stormed Khilat Al-Laham area located in Assira Al-Shamaliya town confiscated a mobile trailer owned by a resident.
- On July 25th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated Lathe equipment owned by Mohammad Shara'iya during their raid into Balata camp in Nablus city.
- On July 29th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated a bulldozer in Aqraba town as it was doing construction work rehabilitating the entrance and the western road of the town, and prevented the completion of work in the area, claiming that it is within the classified area (C) under Israeli control.
Jericho:
- On July 3rd 2019, Israeli forces stormed Jiftlik village and confiscated a water pipe line network owned by Nael Bani Oda and which is installed on 30 Dunums of agricultural land.
Bethlehem:
- On July 17th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Daud Hassan Abu Mifrih during their raid into Teqou'.
- On July 18th 2019, Israeli forces stormed Ein Faris area in Nihalin town and confiscated 5 tents used to house livestock and electrical grid solar panels.
- On July 31st 2019, Israeli forces positioned in Um Al-Rakaba area located in Al-Khader town confiscated A bulldozer while working near the iron gate at the entrance to the area, and arrested its driver.
Hebron:
- On July 4th 2019, On July 4th 2019, Israeli forces positioned near Zif village junction confiscated a vehicle and construction equipment owned by Issa Ali Khalil Abu Arram as he was working on constructing a car wash and issued a military order to halt construction because of its location in area C which is under Israeli Military and administrative control.
- At dawn on July 15th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated 3 water tank trucks owned by Talib Hassan Buhais, Rami Khaled Buhais, and Hijazi Hassan Buhais after storming their homes during their raid into Yatta town.
- On the evening of July 31st 2019, Israeli forces confiscated a concrete pump owned by Barakat Mohammad Marakat in Bani Na'im town.
Settlement Activity:
- On the morning of July 7th 2019, Israeli forces paved a settlement road in Al-Marmala area {which is located near "Miskout" settlement in the North Jordan valley} and begins from road (60) and extends to Al-Marmala area where a Israeli settler installed several Mobil homes and a livestock den {for approximately 300 head of cattle} in an attempt to establish a new settlement outpost in the area.
- On July 10th 2019, Israeli authorities in Jerusalem city approved tenders for the construction of 2 apartment towers {consisting of 18 floors and 216 apartments} in "Gilo" settlement located in south Jerusalem city on land occupied in 1967.
- On July 17th 2019, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Al-Naqqar area located in Huwara town and levelled a plot of land and placed mobile homes on the plot.
Settler Violence:
32 incidents of Settler violence occurred during the month of July 2019 including:
Jerusalem:
- On July 3rd 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Hizma town assaulted Fadi Kamal Shihada Barikat {43 years old} {a resident of Sur Baher village} and a as result left him hospitalized with contusions.
- On July 16th 2019, a Israeli settler positioned in Batn Al-Hawa area in Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city assaulted the child Mimati Assad Jaber {5 years old} and as a result left him with severe head injuries.
- On July 31st 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Al-Basat gate area {a gate entrance leading to Al-Aqsa mosque} in the old city of Jerusalem and kidnapped 3 children then Israeli Police interrogated one of the children after the kidnapping attempt failed.
Ramallah &Al-Bireh:
- On July 1st 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Deir Ijraeer village and assaulted several farmers.
- At dawn on July 10th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Ni'lin town, slashed the tires of several vehicles and spray painted aniti Arab slogans on houses.
- On July 16th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers from "Koghav Hashaher" settlement located in east Kafr Malik and Deir Ijrier villages herded their livestock on agricultural land located in east Deir Ijrier village.
- On July 16th 2019, Israeli settlers from "Bet El" settlement stoned several homes located in Dahiya area located near the settlement.
Tubas:
- On July 8th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers herded their cows on agricultural land in Khirbeit Samrat area located in the North Jordan valley.
- On July 12th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Khilat Hamad area located in the North Jordan valley and planted Olive groves on agricultural land located near "Migola" settlement.
- On July 12th 2019, Israeli settlers stormed Khirbiet Abu Samara area located in the North Jordan valley and seized a water well and prevented residents from entering the area.
- On July 17th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Abu Al-Fandul area located near "Mesquet" settlement in the North Jordan valley and installed mobile homes and installed steel fence around the area in an attempt to establish a new settlement outpost.
- On July 28th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Abu Al-Qandol area located in the North Jordan valley and installed Mobile trailers in addition to 3 homes which were installed earlier and also placed steel fencing around the plot of land in an attempt to establish a new settlement outpost.
- On July 29th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Hamdat" settlement located in the North Jordan valley ploughed 100 dunums {acres} of residential owned land in an attempt to confiscate it.
Jenin:
- On July 23rd 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned at the entrance of "Homish" settlement located in south Al-Silah Al-Harthiya town stoned residents and vehicles travelling along the main road connecting Nablus and Jenin.
- On the morning of July 25th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned at the entrance of "Homish" settlement {which was abandoned} located in south Silat Al-Thaher town stoned vehicles travelling along the main road connecting Jenin and Nablus districts.
- On July 29th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Homish" settlement located in south Al-Silah Al-Harthiya town assaulted Mohammad Jamal Mustafa Qaddumi {a resident of Baqat Al-Hattab village located in Qalqiliya district}.
Nablus:
- On July 2nd 2019, a group of Israeli settlers from "Yitmar" settlement herded approximately 400 goats on agricultural land located near the settlement.
- On July 7th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Awrata village and slashed the tires of 4 vehicles owned by Suleiman Al-Tamouni, Salah Awad, Samer Atwi, and Nasr Awad then spray painted anti-Arab and racist slogans onto the walls of a home and a preschool in the village.
- On July 10th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers installed Mobile homes on a plot of land located in the North area of Einbus village in an attempt to establish a settlement outpost.
- On July 10th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers from "Yitshar" settlement set fire to several Olive trees located on agricultural land in south Burin village and a as result destroyed approximately 1500 Olive groves before Palestinian Civil defence forces were able to extinguish the flames.
- On July 16th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers riding motorcycles stormed east Burin village and stoned the home of Bashar Dakhil during which local residents were able to chase them away from the area.
- On July 17th 2019, Israeli settler driving a vehicle stormed Nablus city in an attempt to enter Joseph's Tomb site then was chased away by Palestinian Police forces guarding the site.
Salfit:
- On July 27th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers from "Rahalim" settlement stormed agricultural land in Al-Muhawir area located near the settlement in Yassuf village and uprooted 80 Olive trees owned by Ahmad Mahmoud Atwani and his brother Rida.
Jericho:
- On July 15th 2019, a Israeli settler known as "Astaghi" leveled a plot of land owned by Nijoum family in Al-Shalalat area in Al-Oja village in an attempt to confiscate it.
Hebron:
- On July 2nd 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Wadi Salama area located in Tarqumiya town and uprooted several Olive trees and demolished a stone wall.
- On the evening of July 6th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers from "Kiryat Arba'" settlement stoned homes in the east area of the old city of Hebron during which Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents who attempted to prevent the settler attack.
- On July 6th 2019, a Israeli settler positioned in Jabr neighbourhood in the old city of Hebron assaulted the child Muntassir Raed Abu Ramilah {10 years old} as he was entering Al-Salha road near Al-Ibrahimi mosque compound and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.
- On July 8th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed a merchant shop located in Al-Hadadin market area in the old city of Hebron.
- On July 9th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers from "Kiryat Arbaa" settlement located in east Hebron city leveled a plot of land approximately 24 dunums owned by Abdel-Samad Jaber which is located near the settlement.
- On the evening of July 15th 2019, a Israeli settler's vehicle travelling along the main road near "Adora" settlement ran over and killed the child Tarik Thabaniyat {7 years old}{a resident of Tarqumiya town}.
- On July 25th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed the old city of Hebron and installed a mobile home in front of a home owned by Al-Za'atri family near Al-Ibrahimi mosque compound.
Closure of Crossing Points
The Israeli military completely closed crossing points into the Gaza Strip, including access points within the Green Line, on 144 occasions during the month of July 2019. The Israeli military closed crossing points within the Green Line on 105 occasions. It opened Beit Hanun (Erez) Crossing for 27 days for previously-coordinated humanitarian cases and foreign nationals and Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing for 23 days for transportation of food supplies, humanitarian aid, and cooking gas. In addition to allowing in animal feed, construction cargo designated for UNRWA and internationally-funded projects was transported through the Crossing. Sufa Crossing was closed throughout the month. On the other hand, the Israeli authorities have continued to unilaterally close Ash Shuja’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Israeli authorities has also continued to completely close Al Muntar (Karnei) Commercial Crossing.
The Israeli military closed international crossing points on 39 occasions. Rafah Crossing was closed on 8 occasions. Yasser Arafat International Airport has remained closed since the outbreak of the second Intifada.
