The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 February 2018 to February 28 2018. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only.

February 4th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Abu Al-Nuwar Bedouin community in east Al-Eizariya town and demolished 2 class rooms {3rd and 4th grade} for the only school in the area {which is funded by the European Union} for allegedly being built with out a licence because of its location in area C {which is under Israeli Military and administrative control}. February 8th 2018: Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint along Al-Shuhada road in the old city of Hebron temporarily detained teachers from Qartaba village school then released them after the intervention of the Palestinian Security Coordination unite and the Red Cross society causing them to be late for their lessons. February 10th 2018: Israeli forces in Jerusalem city prevented an event hosted by the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education honouring of retired principals and school teachers in the schools of Jerusalem at the Female Muslim school in Jerusalem city which included Palestinian Minister of Education and Higher education Dr. Sabri Saydum and other government officials during which Israeli forces prevented them from reaching the event site and then served a Military order to the school principle preventing him from hosting such events. February 14th 2018: Israeli forces surrounded a secondary school in the area between Al-Sawiya and Al-Labban Al-Sharqiya villages , prevented students from entering or exiting the school area during their raid into Al-Sawiya village February 19th 2018: Israeli forces surrounded the local secondary school during their raid into Al-Labban Al-Sharqiya village and preventing students from exiting the school yard |

Analysis of Events
Killings
A total of 9 residents were killed by Israeli forces during the month of February 2018:
- February 3rd 2018: Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched several homes and as a result killed Ahmad Samir Abu Eid {19 years old}, injured 8 residents {including a child}: Ibrahim Bassam Nghangieh, Mohammed Falah, Mahmoud Samara, Samer Hanoun {9 years old}, Ahmed Musleh Antar, Mahmoud Mohammed Qasim Shalamish, Abdul Mohammed Ahmed Saadi, and Nael Abu Zeid. and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation during their raid into Wadi Bruqin area in Jenin city and Bruqin town.
- February 6th 2018: Israeli forces raided Al-Yamoun town, opened fire towards an Apartment building as they surrounded it and as a result killed Ahmad Nassar Jarrar {22 years old}{A resident of Al-Yamoun town} {Who is described by the occupation forces as wanted, for the murder of a settler near "Givat Gilad" settlement} then demolished a concrete wall surrounding the building and a storage den as well as uprooting several Olive trees planted near the building during which clashes erupted between residents and Israeli forces and as a result left several residents suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
- February 6th 2018:: Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Nablus city and as a result killed Khalid Waleed Jamil Al-Taya {22 years old} {A resident of Iraq Al-Taya village} and injured 29 others {including 2 in critical condition} and left 40 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
- February 7th 2018: Hamza Yusef Nu'man Zama'ra {19 years old} {A resident of Halhul town} was killed after Israeli military forces opened fire towards him near Karmi Tsur" settlement junction located near Halhul town for allegedly attempting to stab an Israeli settler.
- February 17th 2018:: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line launched 3 tank artillery shells towards several residents in south east Al-Shukat town located in east Rafah city and as a result killed 2 children: Salem Mohammed Suleiman Sabah Abu Ghaith 17 years old, and Abdullah Ayman Salim Abu Sheikha 15 years old (both residents of Rafah) and injured 2 others.
- February 21st 2018: Israeli Military Authorities announced that the resident Yassin Omar Suliman Al-Sradih {33 years old} {A resident of Jericho city} dead as Israeli forces assaulted him as they arrested him in Jericho city.
- February 21st 2018: Ahmad Mohammad Abed-Rabbo Abu Al-Hilu {19 years old}{A resident of Al-Buriej camp} died of serious injuries sustained after Israeli forces opened fire towards him during demonstrations on east Al-Buriej camp on February 16th 2018.
February 25th2018: Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Waha area located in North West Beit Lahiya town and as a result killed a fisherman: Ismail Saleh Abu Riala {18 years old} and injured another then detained 2 fishermen {including the one who was injured}.
Injuries
A total of 296 injuries were reported in the month of February 2018 (205 Palestinians in the West Bank and 91 in the Gaza Strip). Injuries included 26 children.
Arrests
During the month of February 2018, the Israeli military arrested 561 Palestinians (550 in the West Bank and 11 in the Gaza Strip). The majority of arrests took place in the districts of Jerusalem (131); Ramallah (73); Jenin (62); Tubas (6) Tulkarem (24); Qalqiliya (25); Nablus (62); Salfit (26); Jericho (19); Bethlehem (68); Hebron (54). North Gaza (3) and Rafah (8).
Among those arrested by the Israeli military were: 86 children, 5 women, 2 Elderly residents, 6 University student, 6 Security Force Officers and 2 Journalists.
The Israeli Military Temporarily detained 44 residents during the month of February 2018 including 17 children, 3 journalists, 3 Women and 2 Security officers.
Closure
Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops.
During the month of February 2018 the Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).
The Israeli military installed 348 flying checkpoints in February 2018 (compared with 411 in January 2018 and 431 in December 2017) and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

Home Demolition
During the month of February 2018, the Israeli military demolished 7 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following:
Jerusalem:
- February 7th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city and demolished a home owned by Ali Ta'ma Hamidat for allegedly being built without a licence.
- February 20th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Jabal Al-Baba Bedouin community located in east Al-Eizariya town and demolished a home owned by Musa Al-Jihalin for allegedly being built without a licence.
- February 21st 2018: Israeli forces stormed Shu'fat neighbourhood in Jerusalem city and demolished a home {115 square meters} as well as a livestock barn owned by Salah Abu Khdier for allegedly being built without a licence.
Nablus:
- February 1st 2018: Israeli forces stormed Beit Dajan village and demolished a part of a home {under construction} owned by Thiyab Hassan {A resident of Balata camp in Nablus city} for allegedly being built without a licence.
- February 4th 2018: Israeli forces stormed the south east area of Beit Dajan village and demolished a home {under construction} owned by Ziyad Ali Hussien Rajah for allegedly being built without a licence because of its location in area C {which is under Israeli Military and Administrative control}.
Hebron:
- February 14th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Wadi Al-Qaff area located near Beit Kahil town and demolished 2 homes {under construction} owned by :Anwar Abdel Samia Sennkrot and Ahmed Jallal Al-Tamimi for allegedly being built without licence because of its located in area C which is under Israeli Military and administrative control.

Jerusalem:
- February 1st 2018: The Israeli Minister of Interior issued renewal for an order closing the Orient House and the chamber of Commerce, The Supreme Council for Tourism, the Palestinian Centre for Studies, the Palestinian Prisoner Club and the Office of Social and Statistical Studies in east Jerusalem city for a period of 6 months.
- February 7th 2018: Israeli forces in Beit Hanina town removed a mobile home owned by Mazen Al-Shwiki {As he was residing in after Israeli forces demolished his home which he lived in for 16 years} under the pretext that the land is confiscated by the Israeli Military for settlement construction purposes.
- February 13th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Al-Eisawiya village and demolished 2 dens used as Pizza and sandwich shop and a hot drinks shop for allegedly being built without a licence.
- February 14th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Beit Safafa village and demolished a mobile trailer and 2 live stock dens owned by Awad Zawahra for allegedly being built without a licence.
- February 21st 2018: Israeli forces demolished a live stock barn and a home owned by Salah Abu Khdier in Shu'fat neighbourhood in Jerusalem city for allegedly being built without a licence.
- February 21st 2018: Israeli forces demolished a merchant shop and a hair Solon owned by Daoud Muhisien in Al-Ishqaera neighbourhood in Beit Hanina town for allegedly being built without a licence.
- February 24th 2018: Israeli forces closed a restaurant owned by Zuhier Izhimna which is located on Al-Zahra road in Jerusalem city {for a period of one night} in order to prevent a dinner party held for several Journalists from Jerusalem during which Israeli forces detained the restaurant owner and a journalist and summoned 2 residents: Shadi Al-Matour and Awad Al-Salayma to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
- February 26th 2018: Israeli authorities prevented The Palestinian Minsters of Education & Higher Education and Minister of Tourism and Antiquities from travelling to Jerusalem city to participate in an event for the renovation of Tarasinta School.
- February 28th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a plant shop, a gas station and their surrounding concrete fence for allegedly being built without a licence during their raid into Hizma town.
Jenin:
- February 3rd 2018: Israeli forces demolished a livestock barn owned by Khalid Mustafa Attiq during their raid into Bruqin town.
- February 6th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a concrete fence and a storage den then uprooted several Olive trees after surrounding an Apartment building owned by Nabil Abu Saffin during their raid into Al-Yamoun town.
Tubas:
- February 11th 2018: A Israeli Military UXO exploded in Al-Sakkut area in the North Jordan valley region and as a result amputated the head of a cow owned by Fayez Yusef Mufdi Abu Mutawi' as he was herding his cows in the area.
Salfit:
- February 12th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Wadi Qana area near Deir Istiya town and demolished a building and a livestock barn owned by Nathmi Salman and Riziq Abed Abu Ruda for allegedly being built without a licence because of its location in Area C which is under Israeli Military and administrative control.
Bethlehem:
- February 4th 2018: Israeli forces stormed Al-Hadf area located near Ein Al-Qasis area in Al-Khader town and kicked out several construction workers who were installing a water pipe network owned by Mohammad Khalil Salah for allegedly being installed without a licence.
Hebron:
- February 10th 2018: Israeli forces positioned at Al-Shuhada road in the old city of Hebron prevented Mufid Al-Sharabati from the restoration and maintenance of his house, and confiscated the equipment of the workers during their maintenance and restoration work.
- February 12th 2018: Israeli forces demolished a vehicle repair shop owned by Ibrahim Sabarna located along road {60} near Beit Ummar town for allegedly being built without a licence.
- February 21st 2018: Israeli forces stormed Al-Quba'a area located along the by pass road near "Kiryatv Arba" settlement located in east Hebron city, levelled agricultural land and as a result uprooted several Olive and Almond trees as well as several grape vines and vegetable crops owned by Atta Jaber.
Confiscation of Property:
Jerusalem:
- February 15th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated house furniture owned by Amer al-Tawil while detaining him and his family as they stormed his home in Ras Al-Amoud neighbourhood in Jerusalem city.
Ramallah & Al-Bireh:
- February 27th 2018: Israeli forces positioned near Jibiya village confiscated a Cement mixer and a cement pump owned by "Shaltaf Construction Company" for allegedly doing construction work on a house which is allegedly not licensed because of its location in Area C which is under Israeli Military and administrative control.
Jenin:
- February 4th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated a motorcycle from the home of Shu'aj Mohammad Waleed Abu Bakr after detaining him during their raid into Ya'bad town.
Tulkarem:
- February 11th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated electronic equipment and Data server owned by Bissan Air conditioning company after storming the company during their raid into Anabta town as mentioned in the previous report.
Nablus:
- February 11th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated surveillance camera footage from a gas station during their raid into Beita town.
- February 15th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated surveillance Camera footage from KFC {Kentucky Fried Chicken} restaurant during their raid into Huwara town.
Jericho:
- February 26th 2018: Israeli forces positioned at Allenby Bridge confiscated 1500 USD from Nour Abdel-Hamid Abu Al-Rub {A resident of Qabatiya town in Jenin district} as she was returning from Jordan.
Bethlehem:
- February 4th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated an electrical Generator, crane and concrete mixer after kicking out several construction workers who were installing a water pipe network owned by Mohammad Khalil Salah for allegedly being installed without a licence as they stormed Al-Hadf area located near Ein Al-Qasis area in Al-Khader town.
- February 6th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated a computer from the family home of Yassmin Abu Sarour {A Palestinian Detainee} during their raid into Ayda camp in Bethlehem city.
- February 6th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated a bulldozer from a private company owned by Samir Sobh Abu Dayya after detaining him during their raid into Khalayil Al-Louz village.
Hebron:
- February 4th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated an agricultural tractor owned by Mohammed Jibril Shehadeh Makhamra during their raid into Um Safa village located in east Yatta town.
- February 20th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Raghib Sadr during their raid into Hebron city.
- February 20th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated a Crane owned by Na'im Ihmadin Abu Mariya for allegedly being used to build a live stock den which is not licence during their raid into Beit Ummar town.
- February 27th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated a cellular telephone from the home of Nidal Mohammad Mahmoud Jawa'i {A Palestinian Intelligence forces officer} during their raid into Ithna town.
North Gaza:
- February 11th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated a fishing boat after temporarily detained 2 fishermen off the shores of Al-Waha area located in North West Beit Lahiya town.
- February 24th 2018: Israeli forces confiscated a fishing boat off the shores of Al-Waha area located in North West Beit Lahiya town after temporarily detaining its owners.
Settlement Activity:
Jerusalem:
- February 21st 2018: Israeli Authorities in Jerusalem city approved plans for the construction of 3000 new settlement units in the area between "Gilo" settlement and the bypass road area which is approximately 280 dunums of land located in south Jerusalem city on land occupied in 1967.
Nablus:
- February 4th 2018: the Israeli government approved the legalization of "Havat Gilad" settlement outpost which was established in 2002 on Palestinian owned land in west Nablus district.
- February 13th 2018: Israeli authorities began to set up caravans and construction cranes within the boundaries of the designated building area, which is a two-level building with a total area of from 1500 - 1700 square meters, and rises 4.7 meters from the level of Al-Buraq area).
- February 21st 2018: Israeli Authorities levelled land in Thaher Al-Malah village located behind the wall for the purpose of expanding the wall near "Shaked" settlement on land occupied in 1967.
- February 21st 2018: The Israeli authorities began to set up 12 settlement units on the confiscated land to establish the new settlement outpost "Amihai" near the colony of "Shilo" within the territories occupied in 1967.
Bethlehem:
- February 15th 2018: The Israeli government approved the construction of a settlement road extending from the tunnel area in the town of Beit Jala to the West Bank, to the settlement of El-Eliezer on residential owned land in the town of Al-Khader in the south. It also approved the establishment of 67 housing units new settlement in the areas of Khilet Thaher Al-Ain and In Al-Assafeer located in Al-Khader town.
Settler Violence
- incidents of Settler violence occurred during the month of February 2018 including:
Jerusalem:
- February 12th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Halishi area Silwan neighbourhood of Jerusalem city and slashed the tires of several residential vehicles and spray painted anti-arab and racist graffiti.
- February 14th 2018: Israeli settlers positioned near Chain gate (Bab Al-Silsilah) {A Main entrance leading to Al-Aqsa mosque compound} in the old city of Jerusalem assaulted a resident and as a result left hospitalized with contusions.
Ramallah &Al-Bireh:
- February 2nd 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Nabi Saleh village and chanted (Racist slogans calling on the Tamimi family to leave the village and threatening the citizens).
- February 5th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Janiya village, stoned several homes and damaged a vehicle owned by Nassar Dawood Mustafa.
- February 6th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Ein Qinya village and slashed the tires of 3 vehicles owned by Wajih Al-Salih, Ahmed Ali Alqam and Mohammed Ali Alqam then spray painted racist graffiti on the vehicles.
- February 14th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers {under the protection of the Israeli Military} stormed Eiyoun Al-Haramiya area junction {located along the main road connecting Ramallah and Nablus districts} and stoned vehicles travelling along the main road and as a result shattered the windshield of Palestinian Police vehicle
Jenin:
- February 15th 2018: Israeli settlers raided the area of "Homish" settlement which was abandoned and assaulted the child Eyad Abdel-Rahman Salama {16 years old} {a resident of Al-Fanduqumiya village} as he was near the settlement and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.
- February 23rd 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Homish" settlement {which was abandoned} assaulted and stoned residents and as a result injured a resident leaving him hospitalized with contusions.
Tubas:
- February 11th 2018: a Israeli settler from "Migola" settlement in the North Jordan valley was herding his sheep on agricultural land owned by His sheep were grazed in agricultural crops in the Khallet Hamad area which is owned by Mohammed Fares Subaih.
- February 22nd 2018: An Israeli settler placed his cows in a shed set up near Tayasir military base which was abandoned since 2015 located east of the village of Tayasir and housed himself in empty rooms in the area.
- February 25th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Tayassir Military checkpoint stoned residents and vehicles.
Nablus:
- February 1st 2018: a group of Israeli settlers from "Yitshar" settlement positioned along the main road connecting Orif and Assira Al-Qibliya villages stoned residents and vehicles travelling in the area and as a result damaged a vehicle owned by Abdel-Rahman Assad Shihadeh.
- February 2nd 2018: Israeli settlers stormed Al-Masaudiya area located near Burqa village then withdrew at a later time.
- February 5th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Huwara Military checkpoint stoned residents and vehicles passing through the checkpoint and as a result left Isma’il Musa Hassan Abu 'Alfa {A resident of Balata refugee camp in Nablus city} hospitalized with eye injuries.
- February 5th 2018: Israeli settlers positioned near "Yitzhar" settlement junction located in North Huwara town stoned residents and vehicles and as a result injured 2 residents: Khaled Abdel Rahman, and Habib El Deek (both residents of Nablus city).
- February 7th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned at "Yitzhar" settlement junction located North Huwara town stoned residents and vehicles travelling near the main road in the area.
- February 7th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers installed mobile homes on land in Jabal Subieh located in North Za'tara village in south Huwara town in an attempt to create a settlement outpost.
- February 13th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Awarta village and conducted Talmudic rituals near archaeological sites then smashed the windshields and slashed the tires of several vehicles in the area.
- February 14th 2018: Israeli settlers from "Yitshar" settlement stoned the homes of Ahmad Daoud and Jawad Abdel-Rau'f located in Assira Al-Qibliya village and as a result shattered several windows
- February 15th 2018: Israeli settlers stormed Yatma village and punctured the tires of 4 vehicles owned by Abdullah Mohammed Faeq, Hisham Ahmed Abdel Fattah, Walid Fawzi Salah, and Odah Walid Sinubar then spray painted racist graffiti on the vehicles.
- February 20th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Yitshar" settlement stoned residents and vehicles travelling along the bypass road near the settlement which leads to Jit village junction in Qalqiliya district and as a result damaged a vehicle owned by Ammar Hassan Jaghoub {A resident of Beita town}.
- February 21st 2018: a group of Israeli settlers from "Yitshar" settlement stormed Einbuis village and killed 10 goats after stealing them from a barn owned by Baher Mohammad Rayan {A resident of Einbuis village} located north of the village

- February 23rd 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed south Madma village levelled a plot of land then withdrew under the protection of the Israeli Military.
- February 23rd 2018: a group of Israeli settlers from "Bargha" settlement stormed Burin village and stoned residents and home before local residents were able to chase the settlers from the village.
- February 24th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers from "Gilad" settlement located in Tel village {along the bypass road near "Yitshar" settlement} leading to Jit junction in Qalqiliya district stoned residents and vehicles travelling along the road

- February 26th 2018: a group of Israeli settler stormed agricultural land in the east area of Madma village, clashed with several residents then withdrew under the protection of the Israeli Military.
- February 28th 2018: Israeli settlers positioned at Deir Sharaf village junction stoned residents and vehicles passing near the area.
Qalqiliya:
- February 5th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Jit village junction and along the main road connecting Qalqiliya and Nablus {near Karnei Shomron settlement} stoned residents and vehicles.
- February 13th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers from "Gilad" settlement outpost located in Jit village slashed the tires of 3 vehicles and smashed the windshields of 3 vehicles owned by Ali Mashhour Yamin and spray painted racist graffiti on the walls of a home.
Salfit:
- February 6th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned at "Arail" settlement junction stoned residents and vehicles travelling along the main road and then withdrew under the protection of the Israeli Military.
- February 7th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers from "Rafafa" settlement positioned at the main road near Deir Istiya town and stoned residents and vehicles passing through the Wadi Qanba bypass road which connects Salfit and Nablus district.
Jericho:
- February 13th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed Wadi Al-Firan area located in North Marj Al-Na'ja village and assaulted Bassam Ismail Mohammad Zabidat {A resident of Al-Zabidat village} and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.
Bethlehem:
- February 2nd 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Kafr Itsiyon" settlement roundabout stoned residents and vehicles travelling in the area and as a result damaged a vehicles owned by Kamal Taqatqa {A resident of Beit Fajjar town}.
Hebron:
- February 3rd 2018: a group of Israeli settlers from "Karmei Tzur" settlement stormed agricultural land in Khilat Al-Kitlat area in Beit Ummar town, stoned several farmers {including Mohammad Ibrahim Sabarna and his familiy} as they were plowing agricultural land and threatened to kill them.
- February 4th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers stormed the old city of Hebron and assaulted several school children from Qarbata School as they were standing in solidarity with Palestinian detainees imprisoned in Israeli prisons.
- February 5th 2018: a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Beit Einoun village junction stoned residents and vehicles.
- February 6th 2018: Israeli settlers positioned at the bypass road near "Adora" settlement and impeded the free flow of traffic.
- February 26th 2018: a group of Israeli settler placed a Caravan in the old vegetable market in the Old City of Hebron on land owned by members of the al-Kayyal family; it was established by the so-called Jewish Renewal Committee to provide the settlers with information regarding the settlement outposts in Old City of Hebron.
Closure of Crossing Points
The Israeli military completely closed crossing points into the Gaza Strip, including access points within the Green Line, on 150 occasions during the month of February 2018. The Israeli military closed crossing points within the Green Line on 97occasions. It opened Beit Hanun (Erez) Crossing for 24 days for previously-coordinated humanitarian cases and foreign nationals and Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing for 19 days for transportation of food supplies, humanitarian aid, and cooking gas. In addition to allowing in animal feed, construction cargo designated for UNRWA and internationally-funded projects was transported through the Crossing. Sufa Crossing was closed throughout the month. On the other hand, the Israeli authorities have continued to unilaterally close Ash Shuja’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Israeli authorities has also continued to completely close Al Muntar (Karnei) Commercial Crossing.
The Israeli military closed international crossing points on 53 occasions. Rafah Crossing was closed for 25 days during the month. Yasser Arafat International Airport has remained closed since the outbreak of the second Intifada.
