The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 August 2019 to August 31 2019. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only.

The majority of arrests took place in the districts of Jerusalem (109); Ramallah (66); Jenin (24); Tubas (2);Tulkarem (11); Qalqiliya (18); Nablus (25); Salfit (17); Jericho (10); Bethlehem (32); Hebron (67),North Gaza (2), Gaza (1), Central Gaza (1); Khan Yunis (6) and Rafah (2). Among those arrested by the Israeli military were: 22 children, 9 women, 5 University Students, 1 Fisherman, 1 Photo-Journalist, and 5 Security Force Officers. |

Analysis of Events
Killings
A total of 7 residents were killed by Israeli forces during the month of August 2019 {2 in the West Bank and 5 in Gaza}:
- August 1st 2019: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards Palestinian Gunmen locations in east Khuz'a town located in east Khan Yunis city following an armed clash between the Israeli occupation forces and a member of Palestinian armed groups after infiltrating through the border fence into Israel east of Abbassan AlKabira and as a result killed him and left 3 Israeli soldiers wounded}.
- August 10th 2019: Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards 4 Palestinian Gunmen located in east Deir Al-Balah city as they exchanged fire and as a result killed them and seized their corpses.
- August 11th 2019: Israeli forces killed Marwan Khalid Abdel-Ghani Nasr {26 years old} {a resident of Beit Hanoun town} as they clashed with Palestinian gunmen near the border fence in east Beit Hanoun town.
- August 15th 2019: The child Naseem Mikafih Musa Abu Rumi {16 years old}{a resident of Al-Eizariya town} was killed after Israeli Military forces opened fire towards him and another child {after they allegedly attempted to stab a Israeli Police officer} near Bab al-Silsila {one of the Main gates leading to Al-Aqsa Mosque) in the old city of Jerusalem.
- August 16th 2019: Ala Khader Abd Al-Harimi {26 years old}{a resident of Bethlehem city} was killed after Israeli forces opened fire towards his vehicle near "Ghosh Itsiyon" settlement and caused his vehicle to overturn {after he allegedly attempted to run-over 2 Israeli settlers}.
- August 17th 2019: Israeli airstrikes killed 3 Palestinian Gunmen: Hamoud Adel al-Walaydeh {24 years old}, Mohammed Farid Abu Namous, {27 years old}, and Mohammed Samir al-Tramsi {26 years old} {all residents of Jabalya town} near the border fence in North West Beit Lahiya town.
- August 31st 2019: ,Bader Al-Din Nabeel Musa {25 years old}{a resident of Khan Yunis city} died of serious injuries sustained after Israeli forces opened fire towards demonstrators in east Khuz'a town located in east Khan Yunis city {as mentioned in the previous report}.
Injuries
A total of 368 injuries were reported in the month of August 2019 (57 in the West Bank and 312 in the Gaza Strip). Injuries included 4 children, 1 Woman, 2 Journalist’s and 1 Paramedic.
Arrests
During the month of August 2019, the Israeli military arrested 393 Palestinians (381 in the West Bank and 12 in the Gaza Strip). The majority of arrests took place in the districts of Jerusalem (109); Ramallah (66); Jenin (24); Tubas (2);Tulkarem (11); Qalqiliya (18); Nablus (25); Salfit (17); Jericho (10); Bethlehem (32); Hebron (67),North Gaza (2), Gaza (1), Central Gaza (1); Khan Yunis (6) and Rafah (2). Closure
Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of August 2019 the Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).
The Israeli military installed 387 flying checkpoints in August 2019 (338 in July 2019 compared with 238 in June 2019) and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

The Israeli military set up 387 Flying checkpoints in the month of August 2019 and searched Palestinian civilians and vehicles in and around Palestinian residential areas in the districts of Jerusalem (12); Ramallah (65); Jenin (6), ,Tubas (2);Tulkarem (4), Qalqiliya (36); Nablus (75); Salfit (34); Jericho (17); Bethlehem (79) and Hebron (57).
Raids
The Israeli military carried out a total of 356 raids in Palestinian residential areas during the month of August 2019, including 350 in the West Bank and 6 in the Gaza Strip. The majority of Israeli military raids were reported to have taken place in the districts of Jerusalem (50); Ramallah (65); Jenin (30); Tubas (2); Tulkarem (27); Qalqiliya (25); Nablus (44); Salfit (13); Jericho (8); Bethlehem (46); Hebron (40), Gaza (1),Central Gaza (4) and Khan Yunis (1).

A total of 226 attacks were reported to have taken place during the month of August 2019 (99 in the West Bank and 127 in the Gaza Strip).
The Israeli military carried out 70 attacks from Israeli military post on civilian homes and property, 31 from Military checkpoints towards Palestinian residents and vehicle and 68 during raids into Civilian populated areas. In addition, Israeli navy vessels carried out 45 attacks on Palestinian fishermen and territory and 12 from Air strikes.
Attacks on residential areas in West Bank and Gaza districts
Palestinian Attacks:
During the month of July 2019, Palestinian gunmen broke the ceasefire agreement on 8 occasions by launching projectiles towards the Green Line including:
- On August 10th 2019, Four Palestinian Gunmen positioned near the border fence in east Deir Al-Balah city opened fire and launched grenades towards Israeli forces which returned fire and as a result killed the Palestinian gunmen and seized their corpses.
- Palestinian Gunmen launched 16 projectiles towards the Green Line 3 of which landed inside the Gaza strip.
Home Demolition
During the month of August 2019, the Israeli military demolished 7 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following:
- August 4th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a home {79 m2} owned by Jihad Ismail Al-Fakhouri in Sha'eb Al-Sultan area located in Wadi Rahal village for allegedly being built without a license.
- August 5th 2019: Israeli authorities forced Sabah Abu Irmala to demolish his home located in Abu Rayala neighbourhood in Al-Eisawiya village for allegedly being built without a license and threatened to fine him in the event that Israeli authorities execute the demolition.
- August 6th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a home {140 square meters} owned by Eyad Khalil Saleem Al-Kiswani in Beit Hanina town for allegedly being built without a license.
- August 21st 2019: Israeli forces demolished 2 homes {approximately 85 square meters} owned by Ibrahim Nabeel Al-Rajabi and Hanan Al-Rajabi in Beit Hanina town for allegedly being built without a license.
- August 23rd 2019: Israeli authorities in Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city forced Mohammad Al-Abbassi to demolish his owned home after serving a military order for its demolition an earlier time and threatened to fine him in the event Israeli forces demolished the home for allegedly being built without a licence.
- August 26th 2019: Israeli forces demolished a home {consisting of 2 floors approximately 400 square meters} owned by Ramzi Nakhla Qaysiya in Al-Makhmour area in Beit Jalla city for allegedly being built without a license.
Attack on Public and Private Property
Attack on Public and Private property occurred as follows per District:
Jerusalem:
- On August 5th 2019, Israeli forces prevented a memorial service for the late: Ahmed Adela from being held at the YMCA in Jerusalem city, and forcibly removed residents from the venue, and summoned 3 residents: Andrea Bahbah Munir al-Ghoul {a journalist}, and Jamal Adela to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
- On August 5th 2019, Israeli authorities demolished a concrete wall surrounding the home of Hussien Abu Rayala in Al-Eisawiya village for allegedly being built without a license.
- On August 6th 2019, Israeli forces closed down the Yabous Cultural Center in Jerusalem city after they prevented the holding of a memorial service for the late writer Subhi Saad al-Din Ghosheh, during which they assaulted 2 residents: Hatem Abdel Qader and Mustafa Abu Zahra.
- On August 7th 2019, Israeli forces uprooted several Olive trees planted in Imam Al-Ghazali court yard located near Bab Al-Asbat gate {Lions Gate} of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound located in the old city of Jerusalem.
- On August 17th 2019, Israeli forces prevented a lecture held in Al-Luqluq tower Society Reception hall located in the old city of Jerusalem discussing the demolition of homes in Jerusalem city and forcibly removed those attending from inside the venue. The lecture was sponsored by the Association for Attorneys and Al-Luqluq tower Society.
- On August 18th 2019, Israeli forces prevented a Football match in Al-Qalaq tower field located in the old city of Jerusalem between several families in Jerusalem city and forcibly removed residents from inside the Football field after assaulting them then removed several banners from inside the stadium and detained 2 residents.
- On August 31st 2019, Israeli forces closed the doors of Al-Luqluq towers located in the old city of Jerusalem following the evacuation of the stadium from those inside, I also commented on the decision to ban the establishment of the Jerusalem Family League, which was to be implemented in the stadium with the participation of 158 families of Jerusalem.
Ramallah & Al-Bireh:
- On August 28th 2019, Israeli forces levelled an agricultural road approximately 800 meters long in Al-Ein area located in Al-Tera village after the local village council approved the construction which would ease movement for students as they travel to school. {which would help reach bypass road 443 in a much shorter time after they were forced to take a much longer and more dangerous route which is located near the wall gate}.
Tubas:
- On August 7th 2019, Israeli forces confiscated levelled and damaged water pipes approximately 150 m long installed on a plot of agricultural land approximately 50 dunums owned by Nahel Saud Ali Foqaha and Wael Saud Ali Foqaha located in Ein Al-Bayda village located in the North Jordan valley.
- On August 18th 2019, Israeli forces demolished and buried 27 Beehives owned by Abu Al-Assal family {residents of Jericho city} located Bardala village in the North Jordan valley.
- On August 18th 2019, Israeli forces demolished a water tank {made from steel slabs approximately 1000 cubic-meters} and demolished several pipelines connected to the tank {which was used for irrigation purposes} located on plot of land near Bardala village in the North Jordan valley for allegedly being built without a licence because of its location in Area C {which is under Israeli Military and Administrative control}.
- On August 21st 2019, Israeli forces demolished a water tank {which holds 1000 litres} which irrigates approximately 900 dunums of agricultural land owned by Adnan Mijali Sawafta in Einoun area located in east Tubas city for allegedly being built without a license barbecue of its location in area C {which is under Israeli military and administrative control}.
Bethlehem:
- On August 5th 2019, Israeli forces stormed agricultural land located in Al-Jub'a village and planted trees in an area of land owned by Mohammed Attia Al-Toss, Abdul Fattah Al-Toss, and Ahmed Mohammed Al-Toss.
- On August 6th 2019, Israeli forces demolished 4 livestock dens owned by Mohammad Musa Zarinat and also demolished foundations of a home owned by Daud Ghimayim located in Bi'r Ounat area in Beit Jallah city for allegedly being built without licenses.
- On August 26th 2019, Israeli forces demolished a restaurant {approximately 350 square meters} owned by Ramzi Nakhlat Qaysiya in Al-Makhmour area in Beit Jalla city for allegedly being built without a license.
Confiscation of Property:
Jerusalem:
- August 6th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated pavement tiles used for the Bedouin community located in Jabal Al-Baba area located in east Al-Eizariya town.
- August 20th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated 3000 USD from Louhath Falah Hussien Al-Shiyoukhi {The mother of Ali Atef Al-Shiyoukhi who was killed by Israeli forces} after storming and searching her home in Sur Baher village.
- August 20th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Eid Jameel Abed Rabbo after storming and searching his home in Sur Baher village.
Ramallah & Al-Bireh:
- August 7th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated 3090 NIS from the family home of Sa'id Nasser Arrar {a Palestinian Detainee} during their raid into Qarwat Bani Zeid village.
- August 25th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Ribhi Abu Al-Safa {who was detained by Israeli forces in Deir Ibzi' village as mentioned in the report of August 24th 2019} in Ein Arik village.
- August 26th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated equipment from a steel mill owned by Hakam Mohammad Dar Musa during their raid into Beit Liqya town.
Tubas:
- August 6th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a tractor and a vehicle owned by Ma'moun Fakhri Daraghma in Khirbit Attouf village.
- August 7th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated levelled water pipes approximately 150 m long installed on a plot of agricultural land approximately 50 dunums owned by Nahel Saud Ali Foqaha and Wael Saud Ali Foqaha located in Ein Al-Bayda village located in the North Jordan valley.
- August 8th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a tractor owned by Ahmad Thiyab Abu Khaziran in Ras Al-Hamara area located in the North Jordan valley.
Tulkarem:
- August 19th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated an agricultural den owned by Dasouqi family located near the entrance of Jabarat village.
Bethlehem:
- August 5th 2019: Israeli forces temporarily seized a concrete pump and a concrete mixing truck owned by Raed Hamad Shakarna as he was constructing a home {owned by Mohammad Kamal Shakarna} then forced the truck driver to go to "Kafr Itsiyon" settlement and prevented the construction work from continuing for not having proper licensing.
- August 7th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Raed Ayash {a Palestinian Detainee}, a motorcycle and all-terrain vehicle (ATV) owned by Malek Hassan Musa Zaghari during their raid into Al-Doha town.
- August 9th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Ammar Mansour Thawabta after detaining him in Beit Fajjar town.
- August 19th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a mobile home owned by Mohammad Musa Shushat in Husan village.
- August 25th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Hussien Attef Obiyat during their raid into Bethlehem city.
Hebron:
- August 10th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Qassim Aref Asafra after detaining him in Beit Kahil town.
- August 19th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a storage den {approximately 200 m2} owned by Mohammad Rashid Da'is in Deir Razih village which is located in south Dura town.
- August 20th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Ala Hamidat in Surif town.
Gaza:
- August 5th 2019: Israeli forces confiscated a fishing boat owned by Amjad Tarek Bakr off the shores of Gaza city.
Settlement Activity:
- On August 7th 2019, Israeli authorities approved tender for the construction of 2304 settlement units on Palestinian land occupied in 1967.
- On August 8th 2019, The Israeli Prime Minister "Benjamin Netenyahu laid the foundation stone for the construction of 650 new settlement units in Beit El settlement located north of Al-Bireh city on land occupied in 1967.
- On August 25th 2019, Israeli authorities issued tenders for the construction of 120 settlement units in "Karni Shamron" settlement on land in Wadi Qana {plot number (19) in Khilat Hafana which is located in Deir Istiya town in Salfit district and on plot number (4) in Qatayin Al-Aza area located in Kafr Laqqif village in Qalqiliya district} these plots are owned by government and owned by 17 residents.
- On August 26th 2019, The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netenyahu approved the construction of 300 new settlement units in "Dolev" settlement located in North east Deir Ibzi' village.
- On August 29th 2019, Israeli authorities razed areas of Palestinian agricultural land in Al-Makhour area, northwest of Beit Jala, in preparation for the construction of an underground tunnel similar to another tunnel linking Jerusalem to the Gush Etzion settlement complex
Settler Violence:
41 incidents of Settler violence occurred during the month of August 2019 including:
Jerusalem:
- At dawn on August 8th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed a storage room owned by Adnan Abu Hadwan's family {located in Bab al-Mughrabi area, located southwest of Al-Aqsa Mosque }as they broke open the store entrance and removed all contents in the room as they attempted to seize it then later withdrew.
- On August 10th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed the old city of Jerusalem and provoked residents by conducting Talmudic Rituals near the gates leading to Al-Aqsa mosque.
- On August 25th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Jaba' village roundabout stoned several vehicles travelling in the area and as a result damaged an Ambulance.
Ramallah &Al-Bireh:
- On August 5th 2019, an Israeli settler positioned near the entrance of Deir Intham village and opened fire towards several residents for alleged stoning.
- On August 8th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Al-Mahkama" military checkpoint located near "Beit El" settlement in North Al-Bireh city stoned several vehicles travelling through the checkpoint and as a result injured a resident and his child leaving them hospitalized with contusions
- On August 9th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near the entrance of Al-Jalazoun camp stoned several vehicles and as a result damaged several vehicles.
- On August 15th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Al-Mahkama" military checkpoint located near "Beit El" settlement in North Al-Bireh city stoned several vehicles passing near the checkpoint and as a result injured a resident leaving him hospitalized with contusions.
- On August 20th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers from "Halmish" settlement assaulted several farmers on agricultural land in Um Safa and Jibiya villages and placed barbed wire around an area of 150 dunums of land located in the classified areas (B, C) according to the Oslo Accords, in an attempt to seize it.
- On August 23rd 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned in Ein Ayoub area located near Ras Kar Kar village stoned several residents and vehicles traveling along the main road between Ras Kar Kar and Khirbithat Bani Harith villages.
- On August 23rd 2019, a group of Israeli settler positioned near the entrance of Beitin village stoned residents and vehicles traveling near the area.
- On August 23rd 2019, Israeli settlers positioned near the entrance of Turmus'aya town stoned vehicles travelling along {the main road connecting Ramallah and Nablus} and as a result damaged a vehicle owned by Ayed Ka'abna {a resident of Bir Ziet town}.
- On August 24th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Ein Ayoub area junction located in west Ras Kar Kar village then stoned vehicles traveling along the main road in the area.
Tubas:.
- On August 2nd 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Khirbeit Makhoul area located in the North Jordan valley and herded their cattle on land near residential tents and as a result led to verbal confrontations between them and local residents.
- On August 4th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Malah area located in the North Jordan valley and planted several Olive and Palm trees on a plot of land in an attempt to confiscate it.
- On August 13th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Abu Al-Qandul area in the North Jordan valley and installed new livestock dens then filled them with several cattle's.
Jenin:
- On August 11th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned at the entrance of "Homish" settlement {which was abandoned} located in south Silat Al-Thaher town stoned vehicles travelling along the main road connecting Jenin and Nablus districts.
Nablus:
- On August 5th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers from "Yisthar" settlement stormed Orif village under the protection of Israeli forces who fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents who attempted to prevent the settler's attack and again at 02:00 Israeli settlers hurled bottles and stones towards a reception hall and a home owned by Jamal Abdallah Shihada and as a result broke several windows then fled the village after being chased away by local residents.
- On August 8th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Al-Libban Al-Sharqiya village stoned vehicles travelling along the main road connecting Nablus and Ramallah and as a result damaged several vehicles.
- On August 9th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned along the main road in Huwarat town provoked several residents and as a result impede the free flow of traffic.
- On August 12th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of the Israeli Military stormed Al-Masaud area located near Burqa village then withdrew at a later time.
- On August 15th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed the eastern area of Orif village and attempted set fire to agricultural land during which local residents were able to prevent the settler attack during which Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents as they withdrew with the settlers.
- On August 15th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Burqa Al-Sharqiya village, set fire to agricultural land and prevent local residents and Palestinian Civil defence forces from extinguishing the fire by opening fire towards them.
- On August 23rd 2019, Israeli settlers set fire to agricultural land in the area between Burin and Madma villages before Israeli Civil defence forces were able to extinguish the flames.
- On August 24th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Yitshar" settlement junction located in North Huwara town stoned vehicles travelling along the main road near the settlement.
Qalqiliya:

- On August 17th 2019, Israeli settlers positioned near Jit village junction stoned several vehicles travelling along the main road in the area and as a result damaged a vehicle owned by Mohammad Ziyad Eid {a resident of Jinsafut village}.
Salfit:
- On August 7th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers riding in 2 vehicles stormed Kafil Harris town then parked near a local mosque before leaving at a later time.
- On August 20th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Harris village and slashed the tires of several vehicles and a bulldozer owned by the local village council then spray-painted anti-Arab and racist graffiti.
Bethlehem:
- On August 8th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Kafr Itziyon" settlement roundabout located along the main road connecting Bethlehem and Hebron then stoned several vehicles travelling in the area.
- On August 9th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Nihalin town then stoned the home of Foad Najajrat in Nihalin town.
- On August 9th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned in Al-Manshiyat area located near Teqou' town and stoned a home and a vehicle owned by Ahmad Abu Diya.
- On August 21st 2019, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of the Israeli Military stormed agricultural land in Al-Ju'ba village and planted several trees in {Ein Al-Himam , Wadi Al-Janzir, Al-Qurnat and Abu Al-Tawim areas} which is an area which consists of thousands of dunums and part of it is planted with fruit trees for decades on an area's approximately 300 meters from the nearest house in the village.
- On August 22nd 2019, an Israeli settler vehicle travelling along the main road near the entrance of Jub'a village ran over the child" Jana Muneer Abu Lihat {6 years old} and as a result left her hospitalized with contusions.
- On August 30th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Kafr Itsiyon" settlement assaulted Ayman Khalil Mahmoud Sa'ed {a resident of Irtas village} and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.
Hebron:
- On August 4th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers from "Ramat Yashay" settlement outpost {located in Tel Al-Rumayda neighbourhood} and "Beit Hadass" settlement located in the old city of Hebron stormed Mufeed Al-Sharabati's home which is located on Al-Shuhada road in the old city of Hebron and assaulted him and his family {including his wife and children} and as a result left then hospitalized with contusions.
- On August 8th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers from Kiryat Arba settlement located in east Hebron city stoned vehicles travelling along the main road near the settlements and as a result injured a resident.
- On August 9th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in east Yatta town and set fire to 50 haystacks owned by Khalid Hassan Al-Amour and then spray painted anti-Arab and racist slogans.
- On August 10th 2019, a group of Israeli settlers from "Givat Gal" settlement outpost assaulted Shaker Al-Zaro Al-Tamimi {70 years old} ,his family and those who were with them while they were in front of his house in Jabal Jalis area, east of Hebron, where they fought with their hands without causing injuries.
- On August 23rd 2019, a group of Israeli settler positioned near "Kiryat Arba'" settlement in east Hebron city stoned vehicles travelling along road {60} near the settlement.
Closure of Crossing Points
The Israeli military completely closed crossing points into the Gaza Strip, including access points within the Green Line, on 157 occasions during the month of August 2019. The Israeli military closed crossing points within the Green Line on 110 occasions. It opened Beit Hanun (Erez) Crossing for 26 days for previously-coordinated humanitarian cases and foreign nationals and Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing for 19 days for transportation of food supplies, humanitarian aid, and cooking gas. In addition to allowing in animal feed, construction cargo designated for UNRWA and internationally-funded projects was transported through the Crossing. Sufa Crossing was closed throughout the month. On the other hand, the Israeli authorities have continued to unilaterally close Ash Shuja’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Israeli authorities has also continued to completely close Al Muntar (Karnei) Commercial Crossing.
The Israeli military closed international crossing points on 47 occasions. Rafah Crossing was closed on 16 occasions. Yasser Arafat International Airport has remained closed since the outbreak of the second Intifada.
