JERUSALEM

Closure
  1. On March 10th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  3. The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  1. Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  2. On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Raid
  1. At 10:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Eisawiya village, closed the entrance after installing a checkpoint  then stormed and searched the family home of Fouad Abu Rajab {A resident killed by Israeli forces} and damaged the front entrance of the home.
  2. At 18:00, Israeli forces raided Hizma village {after the alleged assault of a Israeli settler as he was passing near the village}, closed the village entrance after installing a checkpoint, stormed and searched several merchant shops, confiscated surveillance camera footage from several merchant shop and detained a resident after storming and searching his home.
  3. At 18:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram and clashed with several residents.
  4. At 18:00, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis and clashed with several residents.
  5. At 03:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Sawaher village then stormed and searched several homes.
Detention
  1. At 15:30, Israeli forces detained Ahmad Al-Masri {A resident of Al-Eisawiya village}.
  2. Israeli forces detained Abdallah Ali Hussien Al-Khatib in Hizma village.
Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 12:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

Closure of Wall Gates
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  2. The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  2. At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 15:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atara Bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 16:50.
Raid
  1. At 10:20, Israeli forces raided Safa village until 10:30.
  2. At 20:00, Israeli forces raided Kharbathat Al-Misbah village and detained a resident.
  3. At 01:55, Israeli forces raided Bir Ziet and detained a journalist.
  4. At 02:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Bireh city and clashed with several resident’s as they stormed “Palestine Today” news channel offices and “Trans media” section of the news channel, confiscated its equipment and office supplies, detained 2 employees  and served a military order for the closure of the news channel then withdrew at 03:20.
  5. At 01:15, Israeli forces raided Ein Yabroud village, stormed a home then withdrew at 03:00.
Detention
  1. Israeli forces detained Samer Ramadan Yacoub (17 years old) in Kirbithat Al-Misbah village.
  2. Israeli forces detained Farouq Aliyat {Director of Palestine Today News channel and journalist} in Bir Ziet city.
  3. sraeli forces detained 2 journalists: Shabib Shabib {A resident of Burqa village in Nablus district} and Mohammad Amour {A resident of Dura town in Hebron district}.

JENIN

Closure

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 14:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Araba town junction and detained a resident.
  2. At 15:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hadad Al-Siyahiya village then searched residents and vehicles.
Detention
  1. At 03:15 on March 10th 2016, Israeli forces detained 3 residents including a child: Yazen Eyad Mohammad Hanaysha (16 years old), Mohammad Maher Alawneh and Mohammad Omar Saba’neh during their raid into Qabatiya in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.
  2. Israeli forces detained Nabeel Samir Mohammad Al-Sa’di (A resident of Al-Silah Al-Harthiya} near Araba town junction.
Closure of Wall Gates
  1. Israeli forces continue to close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

At 07:45 on March 10th 2016, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 20:20.

Raid

(i) At 18:00, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem. (ii) At 21:30, Israeli forces raided Allar until 23:00. (iii) At 00:40, Israeli forces raided Kafr Al-Labbad and Kaf Al-Jamal villages, detained a child in Kafr Al-Jamal then withdrew at 01:40.

Detention

(i) At 14:30, Israeli forces detained Waleed Mustafa Hussien Yahya {A resident of Tulkarem} while he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning in order to obtain a worker permit for employment inside Israel. (ii) Israeli forces detained the child Tusef Mohammad Mustafa (17 years old) in Kafr Al-Jamal village.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  1. Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  2. In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  3. Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 08:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrances of Hajja and Kafr Qaddum villages and prevented residents under the age of 25 years from passing through the checkpoint. (ii) At 11:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun Atma village then searched residents and vehicles

Raid

(i) At 12:45, Israeli forces raided Azzun town, summoned 5 residents: Rashid Yassin Aniya, Azzam Mohammad Ibrahim Saleem, Maher Mohammad Hussien, Zaki Abdel-Raziq Majd and Azmi Mahmoud Shilo to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning. (ii) At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Falamiya village. (iii) At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Hajja village, clashed with several residents as they stormed the home of Bashar Masalmeh {who was killed by Israeli forces} and served a military order for demolishing the home.

Detention

At 01:10 on March 10th 2016, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Abdel Hafith Ali Al-Bim and Wurud Rabi Al-Bim.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access. (ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut. (ii) Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds. (iii) Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area. (iv) Since 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds. (v) On March 3rd 2016, Israeli forces closed the 2 junctions of Beita and Tel village with dirt mounds.

Military Checkpoints

At 09:20, Israeli forces closed Huwara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 10:15.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 09:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Burqa village then searched residents and vehicles until 10:30. (ii) At 16:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Sabustiya village the searched residents and vehicles.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  2. Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

At 00:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Zawiya town, temporarily detained several residents as they were attempting to enter areas beyond the Green Line looking for work then released them at a later time

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 15:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along road (90) located near Al-New’meh village junction at the north entrance of Jericho then searched residents and vehicles until 16:45. (ii) At 15:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along the main road in Al-Oja village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Oja village, detained 2 residents, temporarily detained several residents then released them after questioning by Israeli Intelligence officers then withdrew at 02:40.

Detention

(i) At 20:00, Israeli forces positioned at Allenby bridge detained Yahya Bassam Hussein Nassrallah {A resident of Beit Furiq town in Nablus district}. (ii) At 21:45, Israeli forces detained Majed Thiyab Al-Saqa (A resident of Balata camp in Nablus}after the allegedly found a firearm in his vehicle. (iii) Israeli forces detained Ayed Abdel-Fattah Ka’abneh and Suliman Abdel-Fattah Ka’abneh {both residents of Yatta town in Hebron district}.

Settlers Violence

At 10:35, a Israeli settler from “ Yatav” settlement located in west Al-Oja village began leveling a plot of land owned by Nojum family located near the village junction leading to Al-Shalat area in Al-Oja village

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  1. The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  2. Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.
Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds. (ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds. (iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires. (iv) At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds. (v) On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main entrance gate leading to Um Al-Rakaba area in Al-Khader.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 18:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Jallah city then searched residents and vehicles until 19:40. (ii) At 21:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the West entrance of Taqou’ then searched residents and vehicles until 22:30.

Raid

(i) At 08:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Minah village located near Al-Mina village in south Teqou’ and stormed a school for alleged stoning incident by several students. (ii) At 20:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader, detained a resident after storming and searching his home then withdrew at 01:15. (iii) At 21:10, Israeli forces raided Husan village, stormed the family home of Amani Sbatin {who was killed by Israeli forces} and took measurement of the area in order to prepare it for demolition then withdrew at 22:00. (iv) At 15:25, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 16:10.

Attack

At 22:10, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Khader town fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Hassan Naji Salah in Al-Khader.

Settlers Violence

At 20:00, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Shushahlah area which is located near “Daneil” settlement in Al-Khader set fire furniture in a home owned by Muhanad Sa’ed Ahmad Salah as he and his family were outside the home during which Palestinian civil defense forces were able to extinguish the fire at a later time.

HEBRON

Closure
  1. The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  2. Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City. (ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds. (iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 09:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Fuwar camp then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 00:45, Israeli forces raided Hebron until 04:00. (ii) At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Beit Ula town until 04:00. (iii) At 02:10, Israeli forces raided Beit Awa until 04:00.

Detention

At 02:00 on March 10th 2016, Israeli forces detained 5 residents: Mohammad Hussein Abdel-Azziz Abu Hadeed, Nasr Hussein Abdel-Azziz Abu Hadeed, Yacoub Khalil Abdel-Min’im Al-Za’areer, Khaled Al-Jindi and Abdel-Atheem Ahmad Jameel Al-Natshah during their raid into Hebron city in addition to those mentioned in the previous report

Physical Assault

At 18:50, Israeli forces positioned near Zif village junction assaulted Sultan Ibrahim Abu Aram (a resident of Yatta) and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.

Land Levelling

At 10:35, Israeli forces leveled a plot of land in Suba village which is located in Dura and Ithan.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Gaza.
  • Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination. 

Attack

At 08:45, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya.

Detention

On March 3rd 2016, Israeli forces positioned at Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing point detained Fadi Nimr Mohammad Al-Saharif (A resident of Al-Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza city} {A professional Football player with Al-Hillal Athletic club in Gaza} as he was returning to Gaza after treatment at Al-Makassid hospital in Jerusalem.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  1. Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  2. Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
Attack
  1. At 08:30, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in east Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood in east Gaza city.
  2. At11:50, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in east Al-Zaytoun neighbourhood in east Gaza city.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  1. Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  2. Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
  3. Sufa Crossing is closed
  4. Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA.
Detention

At 15:00, Israeli forces detained an unidentified resident as he was attempting to climb the border fence into Israel from east area of Rafah city.
