WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  1. On March 13th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  3. The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  1. Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  2. On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall

  1. At 21:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Ezariya until 03:25.
  2. At 03:30, Israeli forces raided Qalandiya camp, stormed several homes, detained 5 residents including 2 children then withdrew at 04:30.
  3. At 04:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Isawiya village and detained 3 residents.
Attack

At 22:30, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Al-Ram fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention
  1. At 21:20 on March 12th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint located at the entrance of Bir Nabalah detained Ibrahim Riyad Jarradat {A resident of Al-Yamoun town in Jenin District){A Journalist}in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.
  2. Israeli forces detained 5 residents {including 2 children}: Mohammad Ashraf Assad Al-Shou’ani (16 years old), Nasser Zuheir Assaf (17 years old), Mohammad Imad Awad, Hamza Khaled Zayed and Omar Ja’far Hamad in Qalandiya camp.
  3. Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Yusef Hassan Aliyan, Ali Ahmad Darwish and Mohammad Daoud Aliyan in Al-Iswaioya.
Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 11:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem.

Closure of Wall Gates
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  2. The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 16:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nabi Saleh village then searched residents and vehicles until 17:35.
  • At 20:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Turmus’aya town then searched residents and vehicles until 21:45
Detention
  • At 13:30, Israeli forces detained Ahmad Fihmi Abdel-Rahman Abu Sbieh (A resident of Al-0Jalazoun camp) as he was reporting to Israeli intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.
  • At 16:30, Israeli forces detained Hamdan Abdel-Jabar (A resident of Turmus’aya).
Attack
  • At 16:10, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Mazra’a Al-Gharbiya village fired live ammunition; rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result critically injured the child: Oday Kamal Ibrahim Salamah (16 years old).

JENIN

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan and the south entrance of Ya’bad.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 09:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Yamoun town then searched residents and vehicle until 11:00.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 14th 2016, Israeli forces raided Jenin camp and detained 2 residents after searching and storming their homes
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Fadi Haweil  and Yazan Al-Sa’di in Jenin camp.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • : Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • At 08:00 and again at 19:55, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 22:10.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 14:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Ramin village, temporarily detained several residents then released them after questioning by Israeli Intelligence officers

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 09:00 and again at 22:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Jit village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 23:00.
  • At 17:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqiliya then searched residents
Raid
  • On March 13th 2016, Israeli forces raided Qalqiliya city and detained a resident.
  • At 01:10, Israeli forces raided Azzun then stormed and searched a home.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Adham Mahmoud Al-La’u in Qaqliliya city.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
  • At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
  • At 17:00 on March 11th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Qabalan and Yatma villages and the road connecting Qabalan and Al-Sawiya villages with dirt mounds.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 09:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Tel and Madma villages then searched residents and vehicles until 11:00
  • At 10:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Qabalan and Yatma village’s then searched residents and vehicles until 11:30.
  • At 16:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at “Yitzhar” settlement junction located in North Huwara then searched residents and vehicles until 17:45.
Raid
  • At 00:40, Israeli forces raided Talfit village until 01:30.
  • At 02:15, Israeli forces raided Nablus city, stormed and searched a Apartment building, temporarily detained several University students then released them after questioning by Israeli Intelligence officers and withdrew at 05:50.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  • Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

  • The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.

  • Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  • At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
  • On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main steel entrance gate leading to Um Al Rakaba area in Al-Khader town.
Raid
  • At 03:25, Israeli forces raided Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes, detained 2 residents including a child and summoned Jameel Khaled Jameel Zaydeh to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 05:00.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 2 residents:  Mohammad Samir Mohammad Abu Hata (17 years old) and Yazen Mohammad Ja’di Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem.
Temporary Detention
  • 11:45, Israeli forces positioned near “Kafr Itsiyon” settlement temporarily detained the child: Suzan Shihadeh Ameen Ghaneemat (16 years old) {A resident of Surif town in Hebron District} then released her at 13:30.

HEBRON

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  • Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

  • The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
  • The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 19:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Dura then searched residents and vehicles until 20:30.
Killings
  • At 06:30, 2 residents: Qassim Fareed Jaber (31 years old) and Ameer Na’im Al-Jundi (22 years old) {Both residents of Hebron} were killed after Israeli forces opened fire towards them for allegedly attempting to run over Israeli soldiers  near “Kiryat Arba’” settlement located in east Hebron city{As alleged by the Israeli Military}.
  • At 07:00, Yusef Waleed Mustafa Tariya (18 years old) {A resident of Bani Na’im  was were killed after Israeli forces opened fire towards him for allegedly attempting to run over Israeli soldiers  near “Kiryat Arba’” settlement located in east Hebron city{As alleged by the Israeli Military}.

  • At 15:00, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Bani Na’im fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  • At 13:05, Israeli detained Imad Suliman Qaysiya ( A resident of Al-Thahriya}.
GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Gaza and Khan Yunis.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
