WEST BANK

ALL DISTRICTS

•Since 24:00 on October 15th 2016, the Israeli Military sealed off the West Bank for the Jewish Holiday "Sikkot" thus preventing residents and workers including those with entry permits from entering Jerusalem city and Israel with the exception of Foreign Diplomats, Humanitarian and emergency medical cases {with prior security clearance} until 24:00 on October 17th 2016.

JERUSALEM

Raid

At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Anata town and clashed with several residents.

Detention

1. At 11:00, Israeli forces detained Sameer Jibril { Director General of Education Ministry in Jerusalem} in the old city of Jerusalem because several school children had thrown stones in the area.
2. At 13:00, Israeli forces detained 10 school children: Abdel-Rahman Mazen Najeeb (15 years old), Abdel-Malik Musa Ghazali (17 years old), Munjid Muh'sien Abu Wahdan (15 years old), Yusef Yaqoub Al-Rashiq (17 years old), Munthir Ameer Al-Tamimi (15 years old), Khader Fadil Al-Ajlouni (17 years old), Ahmad Ashraf Sharabati (16 years old), Yusef Salah Al-Din Al-Balbisi (17 years old), Ameer Basil Nofal (17 years old) and Firas Ashraf Al-Razam (16 years old) in the old city of Jerusalem.
3.On the afternoon of October 17th 2016, Israeli forces positioned near the west entrance of Al-Eiswaiya village detained Ahmad Darwish {A resident of Al-Eisawiya village} after assaulting him.

Physical Assault

On the afternoon of October 17th 2016, Israeli forces assaulted Ahmad Darwish {A resident of Al-Eisawiya village} near the west entrance of Al-Eiswaiya village as they detained him.

Attack

1. At 15:35, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Quds University in Abu Dis town fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
2. At 01:30, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 11:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 11:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Taybeh town junction {which connects Jericho and Ramallah districts} then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 20:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Atarah town then searched residents and vehicles.
3. At 20:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Abboud then searched residents and vehicles.
4. At 24:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nabi Saleh village and temporarily detained Thomas Maher Zahran { A Palestinian National Intelligence Force Officer}{A resident of Deir Abu Mash'al village then withdrew at 01:00.

Raid

1. At 18:45, Israeli forces raided Budrus village, detained 4 residents {including a Presidential Guard} as they were collecting Olive harvest.
2. At 22:40, Israeli forces raided Shuqba village , stormed and searched several resident then withdrew at 24:00.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 4 residents: Mohammad Yusef Abdel-Kareem, Mahmoud Hassan Yusef, Abdallah Mohammad Omar and Nizar Lutfi Khalaf in Budrus village.

Temporary Detention

At 24:00, Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nabi Saleh village temporally detained Thomas Maher Zahran { A Palestinian National Intelligence Force Officer}{A resident of Deir Abu Mash'al village} then released him at 00:30.

JENIN

Raid

At 02:30, Israeli forces raided Jenin city, detained a resident then withdrew at 04:00.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Salah Firas Abu Al-Wafa in Jenin city.

QALQILIYA

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 19:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Izbit Al-Tabib village then searched residents and vehicles until 20:20.
2. At 19:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun town then searched residents and vehicles until 20:25.

NABLUS

Military Checkpoints

At 20:20, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Beit Furiq checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 22:45.

Flying Checkpoints

At 20:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Osirin village then searched residents and vehicles until 21:30.

Settlers Violence

At 05:10, Israeli settlers driving vehicles raided Nablus city as they attempted to storm Joseph's tomb then were chased from the area by Palestinian Police officers guarding the site.

SALFIT

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 21:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Deir Ballout town then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 21:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the West entrance of Kafr Al-Dik town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 00:20, Israeli forces raided Qarwat Bani Hassan town until 01:45.

JERICHO

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the West entrance of Al-Oja village then searched residents and vehicles.

Detention

At 21:50, Israeli forces positioned at Allenby bridge detained Eyad Thiyab Abu Qabtiya {A resident of Yatta town in Hebron District} as he was returning from Jordan.

BETHLEHEM

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 10:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Dar Salah village bridge {located at the east entrance of Beit Sahour city} then searched residents and vehicles until 11:50.
2. At 19:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Jallah city , detained a resident then withdrew at 22:25.

Raid

1. At 22:00, Israeli forces raided Husan village, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 22:50.
2. At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar town, stormed and searched several homes, confiscated Gold Jewelry and a computer owned by Mohammad Ali Issa Taqatqa then withdrew at 03:30.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Tamer Ibrahim Daoud Salah {A residents of Al-Khader town} at the entrance of Beit Jallah city.

Attack

1. At 13:20, Israeli forces positioned in Ayda camp in Bethlehem city fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
2. At 22:00, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Husan village.

Confiscation of Property

At 02:00, Israeli forces confiscated Gold Jewelry and a computer owned by Mohammad Ali Issa Taqatqa as they stormed his home during their raid into Beit Fajjar town.

HEBRON

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 08:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Fuqeiqis village junction then searched residents and vehicles.

2. At 18:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Shiyoukh Al-Arab village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 10:00 and again at 19:30, Israeli forces raided Hebron city as they escorted a group of Israeli settlers as they stormed "The tomb of Othniel"then stormed and searched a gas station in Farsh Al-Hawa area located in the north section of the city.
2. At 23:00, Israeli forces raided Halhoul town, stormed and searched a home and detained a resident.

Detention

1. At 10:30, Israeli forces detained Nizar Mahmoud Mustafa Abu Fanar in Al-Sahla area located in the old city of Hebron.
2. At 23:00, Israeli forces detained the child Munthir Sa'di Karja {16 years old } {A resident of Halhoul} as he was riding his motor cycle along bypass road (35) in Halhoul town.
3. Israeli forces detained Mohammad Mahmoud Al-Sa'ada in Halhoul town.

Attack

At 11:05, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning near Al-Aroub camp.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.

•Israeli forces broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards North Gaza and Khan Yunis districts
•Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza district.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Beit Hanun (Erez) is closed { with the exception of emergency medical cases}

Attack

1. At 08:20 on October 17th 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town.
2. At 08:30 on October 17th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in North east Beit Hanoun town.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
* Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

At 08:30 on October 17th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards a maintenance crew for the Electrical Company as they were conducting maintenance work in east Khuza'a town.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

* Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
* Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed.
* Sufa Crossing is closed.
* Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing closed.
