WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure (per District)

(i) On May 29th 2016, The Israeli army intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

Military Checkpoints

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

Flying Checkpoints

At 08:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Eisawiya village then searched residents and vehicles.

Temporary Detention

(i) At 16:00, Israeli forces temporarily detained Fayez Jallal Al-Kharoubi (13 years old) in Batin Al-Hawa area in Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city then released him at a later time.
(ii) On May 29th 2016, Israeli Military courts in Jerusalem city sentenced Hanadi Al-Halawani {A teacher at Al-Aqsa Mosque committee} to 10 days house arrest as a condition for her release after she was arrested on May 23rd 2016

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 08:30, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) Since 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement block.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 11:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Um Safa village then prevented residents from entering or exiting the village until 14:50.
(ii) At 15:30 and again at 24:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Taybeh town junction located along the main road connecting Ramallah and Jericho then searched residents and vehicles until 01:00

Raid

At 01:55, Israeli forces raided Turmus’aya then stormed and searched a home.

JENIN

Closure (per District)

Since December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan

Raid

(i) At 12:00, Israeli forces raided Masliyah village stormed a Vehicle repair Garage and detained 2 residents {including the owner of the garage} and confiscated 12 agricultural tractors and Agricultural Crop sprayer and a ploughing machine then withdrew at 14:40.
(ii) At 03:20, Israeli forces raided Jenin camp, detained a resident after storming and searching a home.

Confiscation of Property

Israeli forces confiscated 12 agricultural tractors and Agricultural Crop sprayer and a ploughing machine in Masliyah village

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained Raed Yahya Abdel-Kareem Alawnah and Yahya Raed Yahya Abdel-Kareem Alawnah in Masliyah.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Ma’moun Al-Nasharti in Jenin camp.

Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue to close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it

TUBAS

Closure of main Roads

Since 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with cement blocks.

Flying Checkpoints

At 23:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Bardalah village junction then searched residents and vehicles.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

At 07:40 on May 29th 2016, Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and imped the free flow of traffic until 09:45

Raid

(i) At 19:10, Israeli forces Beita town, detained a child then withdrew at 20:05.
(ii) At 22:45, Israeli forces raided Far’oun village, set up a checkpoint then withdrew at 01:35.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Imran Rateb Mir’I (17 years old) in Zieta town.

Land Levelling

At 19:45, Israeli forces levelled land in the area located between Deir Al-Ghousoun and Attil town as archaeologist were searching the sites.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

Flying Checkpoints

At 11:55, Israeli forces set up 2 checkpoints at the east entrance of Qalqiliya city and at the entrance of Azzun town then searched residents and vehicles.

Detention

At 01:45 on May 29th 2016, Israeli forces detained Mustafa Kamil Amin Hindi Zied during their raid into Qalqiliya city in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.

Military Checkpoints

At 10:45, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Beit Furiq checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 11:40.

Raid

(i) At 02:30, Israeli forces raided Beit Furiq town, stormed and searched several homes, detained 2 residents {including a resident and his wife} then withdrew at 06:00.
(ii) At 02:30, Israeli forces raided Rujieb village detained 4 residents and summoned Amjad Nofal Abu Hayet to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 06:00.
(iii) At 02:30, Israeli forces raided Deir Hatab village then stormed and searched several homes.
(iv) At 02:30, Israeli forces raided Azmout village then stormed and searched several homes.
(v) At 03:00, Israeli forces raided Salem village then stormed and searched several homes, detained 2 residents and damaged furniture in 2 homes owned by Fakhri Yusef Hamdan and his son Khatab and then proceeded to assault Samuel Mustafa Hamdan and as a result left him injured with facial contusions then withdrew at 06:00.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained Shadi Ali Malatit and Mayes Mahmoud Malatit in Beit Furiq town.
(ii) Israeli forces detained 4 residents: Ma’azouz Ahmad Rawajbah, Waleed Saleem Rawajbah, Ma’rouf Ahmad Dweikat and Mahmoud Abu Ayshah in Rujieb village.
(iii) Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Mohammad Hamad Odeh, Amjad Mahmoud Odeh and Majed Mahmoud Odeh in Deir Al-Hatab village.
(iv) Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Khalil Mustafa Hamdan and Manhal Khalil Mustafa Hamdan in Salem village.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

At 11:00, Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 18:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Kafr Al-Dik town then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 21:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Kafil Harris town then searched residents and vehicles.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 09:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho city then searched residents and vehicles until 10:45.
(ii) At 17:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along Al-Mu’arajat road which connects Jericho and Ramallah districts then searched residents and vehicles.
(iii) At 00:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Al-Nabi Musa area junction located along the main road connecting Jericho and Jerusalem then searched residents and vehicles until 00:40.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 18:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Wadi Rahal village then searched residents and vehicles until 19:00.
(ii) At 23:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Dar Salah village located at the east entrance of Beit Sahour city then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 02:45, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem city and Al-Duhisheh camp, detained 3 residents including a National Security Force officer then withdrew at 05:50.
(ii) At dawn on May 30th 2016, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar town and detained a child.

Detention

(i) At 16:10, Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Khaled Sha’fout {A resident of Al-Duhisheh camp} as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.
(ii) Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Fadi Mohammad Al-Harimi { a National Security Force officer}, Issa Waleed Al-Hirmani and Mahmoud Khaled Sha’fout in Bethlehem city and Al-Duhisheh camp.
(iii) Israeli forces detained Mohammad Anwar Taqatqa {15 years old} in Beit Fajjar town.

Confiscation of Property

At 01:50 on May 29th 2016, Israeli forces confiscated printing supplies and equipment owned by Hassan Adel Faraj after storming his print shop during their raid into Bethlehem city.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 08:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Einoun village then searched residents and vehicles until 10:00.
(ii) At 11:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Samou’ town then searched residents and vehicles until 13:00

Raid

(i) At dawn on May 29th 2016, Israeli forces raided Sa’ir town and summoned 2 residents: Mohammad Mahmoud Shalaldah and Yassin Mohammad Shalaldah to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
(ii) At 09:50, Israeli forces raided Beit Amrah village, stormed and searched several homes then withdrew at 11:00.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
• The Israeli military broke the cease fire agreement by opened fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Khan Yunis District.
• Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Gaza and Rafah Districts.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

Attack

At 23:00 on May 29th 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Gaza city.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

At 08:30 on May 29th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Abbassan town.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
(iv) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is is open for the entry Humanitarian assistance.

Attack

At 20:00 on May 29th 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Rafah city.
