WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure

(i) On May 16th 2016, The Israeli army intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

Military Checkpoints

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall

Raid

At 02:20, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis and A l-Eizariya towns, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes and detained a resident in Abu Dis town.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Huthayfa Badr in Abu Dis town.

House Demolition

On the morning of May 18th 2016, Israeli forces stormed Shu’fat neighborhood in Jerusalem and demolished a home owned by Rajeh Al-Hawarin Al-Saber for allegedly being built without a licence.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 09:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.

Flying Checkpoints

At 14:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Deir Nathim village then searched residents and vehicles until 15:40.

Raid

(i) At 00:20, Israeli forces raided Beit Liqya town and detained a resident.
(ii) At 00:55, Israeli forces raided Um Safa village.
(iii) At 01:25, Israeli forces raided Abboud town.
(iv) At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Bir Ziet town, stormed and searched several homes, detained a resident then withdrew at 04:50.

Detention

(i) At 19:25, Israeli forces detained Omar Khaled Ahmad Al-Rashad (A resident of Ramallah city) as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Waheed Omar Tawfeeq Dar Musa in Beit Liqya town.
(iii) Israeli forces detained Abdel-Rahman Naseem Salem in Bir Ziet town.

JENIN

Closure

Since December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.

Raid

(i) At 03:30, Israeli forces raided Jenin city and detained 2 residents.
(ii) At 03:30, Israeli forces raided Kafr Dan village and detained a resident.

• Wall Gates: Israeli forces continue to close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of main Roads

Since 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with cement blocks.

Raid

At 12:00, Israeli forces raided Bardala village and served military orders for the demolition of 2 homes owned by Othman Ibrahim Fuqaha and Hussien Suliman Foqaha.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

At 01:20, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem city, detained a resident then withdrew at 05:40.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Rafat Nasseef in Tulkarem city.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 15:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Hajja village junction and detained a resident.
(ii) At 00:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun town then searched residents and vehicles until 03:00.

Raid

At 00:55, Israeli forces raided Hajja village detained a Palestinian National Security Force officer then withdrew at 01:50.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces positioned at Hajja village junction detained Suhayeb Marwan Barghouth (A resident of Deir Al-Hatab village) .
(ii) Israeli forces detained Nathim Adel Abu Zuhdiya { Palestinian National Security Force officer}.

Destruction of Property

At 19:30, Israeli forces stormed Ibzbit Al-Tabib village and served military orders for the demolition of 2 merchant shop warehouses owned by Yasser Mahmoud Hurani for allegedly being built without a licence.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.

Military Checkpoints

At 13:40, Israeli forces closed Huwara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until reopening it at 13:50.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 20:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Salem village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 00:30.
(ii) At 20:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near “Shav Shomron” settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles until 22:10.

Raid

(i) At 12:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Bithan village until 15:30.
(ii) At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Iraq Burin village, stormed and searched 6 homes then withdrew at 04:15.

Settlers Violence

At 02:55, Israeli settlers riding 4 vehicles stormed Nablus city as they attempted to enter Joseph’s Tomb then were chased away by Palestinian Police vehicles guarding the area.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 15:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along Al-Muarajat road which connects Jericho and Ramallah Districts then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 20:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho city then searched residents and vehicles until 21:25.

Raid

(i) At dawn on May 17th 2016, Israeli forces raided Fasayil village and detained 2 residents.
(ii) At 00:15, Israeli forces raided Jericho city until 01:50.

Detention

(i) On May 17th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at Allenby bridge detained Munadil Abed Mohammad Sharqawi (A resident of Al-Zababda town in Jenin district) as he was travelling to Jordan.
(ii) On May 17th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at Allenby bridge detained Muhanad Ahmad Salaymeh (A resident of Hebron city) as he was returning from Jordan.
(iii) Israeli forces detained Haytham Kamal Ishtiyan Shalafa and Mahdi Kamal Ishtiyan Shalafa in Fasayil village.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires and also closed the road between Surif town and Al-Jub’a village with cement blocks.

Raid

(i) At 10:55, Israeli forces raided Harmalah village.
(ii) At 00:30, Israeli forces raided Nihalin village until 00:45.
(iii) At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Teqou’ town, stormed and searched several homes, detained 2 children then withdrew at 03:50.
(iv) At 02:10, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar town, detained a resident and summoned the children: Abdel-Qadder Sultan Taqatqa (15 years old) and Isam Mohammad Taqatqa (15 years old) to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 03:05.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Jamal Hussien Al-Badan (17 years old) and Ammar Yasser Hassan Al-Amour (17 years old) in Teqou’ town.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Alaa Mohammad Taqatqa.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close , Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighborhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 09:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Dura town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 11:30 on May 17th 2016 and again at 00:20 on May 18th 2016, Israeli forces raided Ithna town, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 03:30.
(ii) At 02:45, Israeli forces raided Hebron city, detained 2 residents then withdrew at 05:45.
(iii) At 04:40, Israeli forces raided Beit Ummar and detained 2 residents including a child.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained Rami Yusef Al-Khatib and Ahmad Mohammad Al-Jamal in Hebron city.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Mohammad Issa Baher (16 years old) and Ibrahim Mohammad Baher in Beit Ummar.

Attack

At 22:10, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Urrub camp fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Assault on Educational sector

At 16:35, Israeli forces stormed Khirbeit Ghiyoun area located in south east Al-Samou’ town and served a military order for the demolition of “Al- Ghiyoun Secondary School” for allegedly being built without a licence.

Settlers Violence

On the evening of May 17th 2016, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Tel Al-Rumayda neighborhood in the old city of Hebron, attacked a home owned by Adib Abu Aisha’s home and assaulted his child Rami (16 years old) during which Israeli forces temporally detained the child as he was defending himself from the settler assault.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.

• The Israeli Military broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Gaza and Central Gaza

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision

Attack

At 11:20 on May 16th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located near Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing located in south east Gaza city.
