Daily Report May 15, 2016

(i) May 14th 2016, the Israeli army continues to intensify their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound, which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

At 20:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Anata town then searched residents and vehicles.

(i) At dawn on May 14th 2016, Israeli forces raided Hizma village, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched four homes.
(ii) At dawn on May 15th 2016, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched a home and a Dental Clinic then detained a resident and confiscated a Computer.

(i) At 15:35, Israeli forces positioned at Jaba’ checkpoint detained Mohammad Mustafa Mohammad Al-Najjar (A resident of Al-Aza camp in Bethlehem city).
(ii) Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Daoud Ayad in Abu Dis town.

(i) At 08:15, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem city fired stun grenades towards several school children for alleged stoning.
(ii) At 19:00, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Al-Eisawiya village fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

At 08:30, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.

At 03:20, Israeli forces raided Bir Ziet town, detained a resident then withdrew at 04:55.

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.

Since 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with cement blocks.

18:15, Israeli forces raided Bardala village, temporarily detained Qusay Sati Azziz Sawafta then released him later after summoning him to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 20:30.

At 20:35, Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 23:50.

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village, which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

At 17:55, a demonstration took place in Kafr Qaddum against the closure of the east entrance during which they clashed with Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration by firing live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach they demonstration site during which a fire broke out after a tear gas grenade canister exploded near agricultural land and as a result destroyed 30 Olive trees before Palestinian Civil Defence forces were able to extinguish the fire.

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.

At 09:55, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Beit Furiq checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 11:15.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

At 08:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Zawiya then searched residents and vehicles.

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires

(i) At 08:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Jinata town then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 21:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Beit Jala city and detained two residents.

(i) At 00:15, Israeli forces raided Teqou’ town, stormed a home then withdrew at 01:30.
(ii) At 00:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Aza camp in Bethlehem city, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 02:40.

Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Mohammad Maher Masalmah and Hamzaq Mahmoud Masalmah {both residents of Al-Diha town} near the west entrance of Beit Jalla

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

(i) At 02:45, Israeli forces raided Surif town then stormed and searched a home.
(ii) At 02:45, Israeli forces raided Hebron city, stormed a home and summoned Hisham Taha Abu Sinineh to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
(iii) At dawn on May 15th 2016, Israeli forces raided Beit Ummar town and detained a resident.

(i) At 12:15, Israeli forces detained Islam Ayman Al-Tamimi (A resident of Hebron city) near Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in the old city of Hebron.
(ii) At 12:15, Israeli forces positioned at a checkpoint in the old city of Hebron detained 2 residents including a child: Bara Aref Mohammad Jaber (15 years old) and Omar Taha Yassin Abu Sneneh.
(iii) Israeli forces detained Abdel-Nasser Abdel-Hameed Abu Mariya

On the evening of May 14th 2016, a group of armed Israeli settlers from “Kiryat Arba’” settlement located in east Hebron attacked the home of Sifiyan Abu Hata locayed in Jaber neighbourhood in the old city of Hebron, verbaly abused and threatened to kill the residents of the house during which Israeli forces stormed the area and temporarily detained 2 residents including a child: Nur Sufiyan Al-Ja’bari (13 years old)ab d Ahmad Sufiyan Al-Ja’bari (23 years old) and release them at a later time..

Beit Hanun (Erez) is closed.

(i) At 17:00, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town and temporarily detained two fishermen: Kareem Kalab and Kayed Kalalab then released them at a later time after confiscating their fishing boat.
(ii) At 18:45, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
