WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • (i) Since 24:00 on May 10th 2016, the Israeli army continues to intensify their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • (ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • (iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

Military Checkpoints

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall

Raid

(i) At 19:15, Israeli forces raided Biddu town until 22:15.
(ii) At 21:45, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram town until 22:15.
(iii) At 02:50, Israeli forces raided Hizma village then stormed and searched a home.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 09:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.

Flying Checkpoints

At 15:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Deir Ibzi’ and Ras Kar Kar villages then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 09:45, Israeli forces raided Beituniya town, clashed with several residents and temporarily detained 4 children: Tarik Nidal Suliman Al-Hader (16 years old), Mohammad Bassam Judeh (17 years old), Akram Ashraf Yassin (16 years old) and Ra’id Mohammad Qlab (16 years old) and released them at a later time then withdrew at 11:20.

Temporary Detention

temporarily detained 4 children: Tarik Nidal Suliman Al-Hader (16 years old), Mohammad Bassam Judeh (17 years old), Akram Ashraf Yassin (16 years old) and Ra’id Mohammad Qlab (16 years old) and released them at a later time.

Attack

At 19:45, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Beit Liqya town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

JENIN

Closure

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.

Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue to close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of main Roads

Since 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with cement blocks.

TULKAREM

Closure of main Roads

At 14:40, Israeli forces closed the main road leading to Rammin village with dirt mounds (for a period of 2 days because of Jewish Holidays).

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

At 18:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Jaroushiya village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 18:55.

Raid

At 19:30, Israeli forces raided Beit Lid town.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 12:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun Atma village then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 01:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.

Military Checkpoints

At 10:35, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Beit Furiq checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 11:50

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 10:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near “Shav Shomron” settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles until 15:20.
(ii) At 21:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Deir Sharaf village junction located along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem then searched residents and vehicles until 00:20.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

At 21:25, Israeli forces raided Rafat village until 21:30.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Temporary Detention

At 20:15, Israeli forces positioned at Allenby bridge temporarily detained Turki Mamdouh Tallal Abu Jarrar (A National Security Force Officer) as he was travelling to Jordan then released him at a later time.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(iv) At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
(v) On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main entrance gate leading to Um Al-Rakaba area in Al-Khader.
(vi) At 22:40 on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed all entrances of Beit Fajjar town and prevented residents from entering or exiting the town.
(vii) At 12:25 on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the north entrance of Marah Rabah village which leads to Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 10:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Jinata town then searched residents and vehicles until 14:00.
(ii) At 12:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Al-Khader town bridge located along the main road leading to the western villages in the area then searched residents and vehicles until 14:10.
(iii) At 17:35 and again at 23:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Teqou’ then searched residents and vehicles until 24:00.
(iv) At 21:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Za’tara toiwn bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 23:00.

Raid

At 02:15, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar town, stormed and searched 2 homes then withdrew at 05:15.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds

Flying Checkpoints

At 09:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Zif village junction then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 01:25, Israeli forces raided Beit Ulla town then stormed and searched a home.

Settlers Violence

At 14:15, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Abu Judeh area located near Beit Ummar then fired tear gas grenades towards several residents.

Beit Hanun (Erez) is closed with the exception of Emergency Medical cases.

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

(i) At 07:05 on May 12th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Khaz’a town.
(ii) At 00:40, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Qarara town.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
(iv) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry Humanitarian assistance.
