WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure

(i) On May 7th 2016, The Israeli army intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

Military Checkpoints

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

Flying Checkpoints

At 18:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Anata town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 00:10, Israeli forces raided Al-Eisawiya village and detained 2 residents.

Detention

(i) At 23:15, Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint in Jerusalem city detained Murad Mustafa Hamad (A resident of Al-Ayda camp in Bethlehem district) as he was leaving Jerusalem city.
(ii) Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Ammar Zidan and Shaher Zidan in Al-Eisawiya.

Settlers Violence

At 18:00, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Qarmi neighborhood in the old city of Jerusalem and seized a home owned by Zaloum family.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 09:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Rawabi city roundabout then searched residents and vehicles until 11:00.
(ii) At 10:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Eyoun Al-Haramiya area junction located along the main road connecting Ramallah and Nablus then searched residents and vehicles until 11:00.
(iii) At 12:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at “Halamish” settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles until 14:00.
(iv) At 16:10 and again at 21:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah town bridge , detained a University student and then searched residents and vehicles until 22:15.
(v) At 21:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nabi Saleh village then searched residents and vehicles until 22:50.
(vi) At 22:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Sinjil village then searched residents and vehicles until 22:50.
(vii) At 22:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at at Ein Sinya village roundabout {along the main road connecting Ramallah and Nablus} then searched residents and vehicles until 23:10.

Raid

At 10:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Mazra’a Al-Sharqiiya village and detained 3 residents.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces positioned at a checkpoint near Atarah bridge detained Sijoud Mohammad Jum’a Al-Rifa’I (A University Student) {A resident of Kafr Ein}.
(ii) Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Khalid Tawfiq Sa’ed, Hisham Abdel-Qaddder Ihjaz and Omar Abdel-Qader Ihjaz in Al-Mazra’a Al-Sharqiya town.

JENIN

Closure

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.

Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue to close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of main Roads

Since 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with cement blocks.

Flying Checkpoints

At 20:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Tayassir village junction then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 11:10, Israeli forces raided Ein Al-Bayda village then stormed and searched a baracks.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

(i) At 12:10, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem city then installed a flying checkpoint then withdrew at 14:40.
(ii) At 18:25, Israeli forces raided Far’oun village until 20:00.
(iii) At 00:15, Israeli forces raided Baqa Al-Sharqiya town, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 23:30.
(iv) At 02:05, Israeli forces raided Attil town, detained a resident then withdrew at 05:00.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Rateb Abdallah Abu Salim in Attil town.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 16:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 17:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Azzun and Izbit Al-Tabib towns along the main road connecting Qalqiliya and Nablus then searched residents and vehicles.
(iii) At 17:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 20:45, Israeli forces raided Azzun town until 23:20.

Demonstrations

At 18:00, a demonstration took place in Kafr Qaddum against the closure of the east entrance during which they clashed with Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration by firing live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach they demonstration site.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

Attack

Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration in Kafr Qaddum by firing live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach they demonstration site.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.

Military Checkpoints

At 14:20, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Beit Furiq checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 15:20.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 08:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Beit Furiq town junction then searched residents and vehicles until 10:55.
(ii) At 16:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near “Yitzhar” settlement junction located in North Huwara town then searched residents and vehicles until 17:30.

Raid

(i) At 14:50, Israeli forces raided Nablus city.
(ii) At 18:45, Israeli forces raided Huwara town, occupied 2 homes owned by Turki Abu Khamous and Yasser Abdel-Latif Damini then converted their rooftops into Military posts then withdrew at 23:00.
(iii) At 00:30, Israeli forces raided Beit Furiq town, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 01:30.
(iv) At 01:15, Israeli forces raided Einbuis village.

House Occupation

Israeli forces occupied 2 homes owned by Turki Abu Khamous and Yasser Abdel-Latif Damini then converted their rooftops into Military posts in Huwara town.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Military Checkpoints

At 18:00, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 19:10.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 11:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Qarwat Bani Hasan town then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 19:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Zawiya town then searched residents and vehicles until 22:00.

Detention

At 14:30, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint detained Mohammad Hassan Irhil (A resident of Al-Far’a town in Tubas district).

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 14:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along road (90) near Al-Nuw’meh village junction located at the north entrance of Jericho then searched residents and vehicles until 15:50.
(ii) At 20:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Al-Nabi Musa area junction located along the main road connecting Jericho and Jerusalem then assaulted several residents in a vehicle as it was stopped at the checkpoint.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.

Flying Checkpoints

At 20:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Shuwarat village then searched residents and vehicles until 00:40.

Raid

At 00:35, Israeli forces raided Teqou’ town, stormed several homes and summoned Omar Talib Al-Bidan to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 01:45.

Attack

At 18:30, Israeli forces positioned at the wall gate near Dar Salah village opened fire towards Nabeel Shihadeh Sabarnah (A resident of Beit Ummar town in Hebron) and as a result left hospitalised with gunshot wounds.

Injuries

Israeli forces opened fire towards Nabeel Shihadeh Sabarnah (A resident of Beit Ummar town in Hebron) and as a result left hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

Demonstrations

At 09:50, a demonstration took place in Jib Al-Thib village protesting against land confiscation during which a group of Israeli settlers provoked and Harassed the protesters during which Israeli forces forcibly removed demonstrators from the area.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Military Checkpoints

Since 09:55 on May 4th 2016,, Israeli forces closed Abu Al-Rish checkpoint in the old city of Hebron from 08:00 until 17:00 for a period of 1 week {with the exception May 5th 2016 which is Al-Isra Wal Mi’raj Holiday} and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

(i) At 11:00, Israeli forces raided Ithna town and detained 2 residents.
(ii) At 11:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Aroub camp, stormed a home and summoned Salah Al-Din Ahmad Al-Teiti to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
(iii) At 03:10, Israeli forces raided Tarqumiya town until 04:50.
(iv) At dawn on May 8th 2016, Israeli forces raided Hebron city and detained 2 residents.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained Mu’taz Al-Batran and Ahmad Musa Sawayfa in Ithna town.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Mu’tasim Mustafa Al-Qawasmi and Saqer Mustafa Al-Qawasmi in Hebron city.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.

• The Israeli Military broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Gaza and Rafah.

• Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is closed

Attack

At 18:30, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya and temporarily detained 2 fishermen: Mohammad Ghalib Al-Sultan and Owarnis Sharif Al-Sultan then released them after confiscating their fishing boats.

Temporary Detention

Israeli forces temporarily detained 2 fishermen: Mohammad Ghalib Al-Sultan and Owarnis Sharif Al-Sultan.

Confiscation of Property

Israeli forces confiscated a fishing boat off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision

Attack

At 12:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land near Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing in east Al-Shija’iya neighborhood in east Gaza city.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
(iv) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is closed.

Attack

At 19:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards Sufa Crossing point located in north east Rafah city.
