WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure of main Roads
  • On March 30th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 12:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Anata town then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 12:45, Israeli forces raided Hizma village, stormed and searched several merchant shops after closing the village entrance then withdrew at a later time.
  • At 13:50, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram town.
  • At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya town until 04:45.
Attack
  • At 08:45, Israeli forces positioned in Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city fired stun grenades towards several school children for village stoning.
  • At 18:00, Israeli forces positioned in Abu Dis town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 18:00, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Eizariya town fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • On the evening of March 30th 2016, Israeli forces positioned near the North entrance of Al-Ram town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  • At dawn on March 30th 2016, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Fihmi Abu Rajab in Al-Salam neighbourhood.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 10:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Settlement Activities
  • On March 30th 2016, Israeli Authorities approved plans submitted by the Israeli Municipality in Jerusalem for the construction of 18 settlements units near Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem city on land occupied in 1967.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • Since 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 09:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beitin village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 12:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Atarah Town Bridge then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 16:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Um Safa village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 20:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nabi Saleh village then searched residents and vehicles until 21:00.
Raid
  • At 02:25, Israeli forces raided Ramallah and Al-Bireh cities, stormed several homes and detained 4 residents.
  • At 04:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Jalazoun camp, stormed several  homes and damaged home furniture owned by Mahdi Al-Ramahi, damaged his vehicle, confiscated a cellular telephone  and detained a resident.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 4 residents:  Hisham Abu Lafah, Mohammad Jamal Fakhri Barhum, Jihad Mohammad Jamal Fakhri Barhum and Eyad Mohammad Jamal Fakhri Barhum in Ramallah & Al-Bireh cities.
  • Israeli forces detained Ahmad Saleh Nakhlah in Al-Jalazoun camp.
Attack
  • At 11:00, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Maslakh area located near a bypass road in “Bet El” settlement located in North Al-Bireh city fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  •  At 12:50, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of “Pesagout” settlement located in east Al-Bireh city fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 12:50, Israeli forces positioned in the entrance of “Ofar” Military Base/Prison fired live ammunition; rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

JENIN

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan and the south entrance of Ya’bad.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 18:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Beit Qad village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 20:00.
Raid
  • At 04:00, Israeli forces raided Ya’bad, stormed several homes and detained 5 residents.
  • At 05:00, Israeli forces raided Meithaloun town, stormed a home and detained a Preventive Security Force officer.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 5 residents: Taher Jawad Badarna, Mohammad Jamal Abu Bakir, Nour Jamal Hamarsha, Firas Hamza Hirzallah and Hussein Hamza Hirzallah in Ya’bad.
  • Israeli forces detained Hassan Ali Hassan Rabay’a (a Preventive Security Force officer) in Meithaloun town.
Settlers Violence
  • At 09:35, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military forces  stormed the area of “Homish” settlement {which was previously abandoned} during which Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents who were attempting to enter the area in order to plant trees in commemoration of “International Land Day”.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of Roads
  • At 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Aqaba village with cement blocks.
Raid
  • At 09:30, Israeli forces raided Atuf village.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • At 08:20 and again at 19:45Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 20:30.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Raid
  • At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Azzun town until 02:50.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
  • At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 07:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at “Shave Shamron” settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 10:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Bazariya village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 15:30.
(iii) At 10:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Deir Sharaf village junction (located along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem) then searched residents and vehicles until 12:10.
(iv) At 14:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Baraka village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 12:30, Israeli forces raided Aqraba town.
(ii) At 23:00 and again at 04:10, Israeli forces raided Talfit village, clashed with several residents, stormed a home and detained a resident.
(iii) At 01:55, Israeli forces raided Nablus city and Ein Beit Al-Ma’ camp and detained a resident.

Detention

(i) At 04:15 on March 30th 2016, Israeli forces detained 2 University students: Isam Jamil Ishtaya and Karam Khier Allah Bani Fadil during their raid into Nablus city in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Abdallah Mohammad Haj Mohammad in Talfit village.
(iii) Israeli forces detained Salem Mohammad Rizq Hirzallah in Ein Beit Al-Ma’ camp.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

At 15:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Deir Ballout then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 03:10, Israeli forces raided Kafr Al-Dik town until 07:40.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along road (90) near Nueimeh village junction located at the North entrance of Jericho city then searched residents and vehicles.

Detention

At 22:00, Israeli forces positioned at Allenby bridge detained Sajed Nimer Ali Ahmad {A Police officer}(A resident of Kafr Al-Dik town in Salfit) as he was returning from Jordan.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.

(iii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iv) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(v) At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
(vi) On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main steel entrance gate leading to Um Al Rakaba area in Al-Khader town.
(vii) At 22:40 on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed all entrances leading to Beit Fajjar thus preventing residents or vehicles from entering or exiting.
(viii) At 12:25 on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Marah Rabah village.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 09:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Jub’a village then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 09:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Jinata town then searched residents and vehicles until 11:00.
(iii) At 16:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Nihalin village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At dawn on March 30th 2016, Israeli forces raided Husan village and detained a resident.
(ii) At 08:30, Israeli forces raided Jinata town.
(iii) At dawn on March 31st 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Obidiya town and stormed several homes.

Attack

(i) At 15:45, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Khader town fired stun and tears gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
(ii) At 18:30, Israeli forces positioned near Billal Bin Rabah Mosque located in North Bethlehem fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Mohammad Ibrahim Ismail Hamarah in Husan village.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 09:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Raboud village junction then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 10:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Thahriya town and detained a resident.
(ii) At 12:00, Israeli forces raided Hebron city, demolished the interior walls of a home owned by the family of Ehab Fathi Masaud {who was killed by Israeli forces} then withdrew at 04:35.
(iii) At 16:15, Israeli forces raided Beit Ummar.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Mohammad Daoud Salem Hararsha in Al-Thahriya.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.

• Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards North Gaza, Gaza, Central Gaza and Khan Yunis.
• Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire towards North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

(i) At 08:00, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in West Beit Lahiya.
(ii) At 10:20, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in east Al-Shuhada Cemetery located in east Jabaliya.
(iii) At 13:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents located in the vicinity of Beit Hanun (Erez) located in North Beit Hanun as they were participating in Demonstrations to commemorate Land Day.
(iv) At 22:30, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Beit Hanun.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

(i) At 17:15 on March 29th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Jahir Al-Dik town located in South east Gaza
(ii) At 11:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land east Al-Zaytoun neighbourhood located in South east Gaza.
(iii) At 22:15, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land east Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood located in east Gaza city.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack

At 10:50 on March 29th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire toward agricultural land in east Deir Al-Balah city.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

At 10:40 on March 29th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire toward agricultural land in east Khan Yunis city.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(ii) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(iii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iv) Sufa Crossing is closed
(v) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA.
