WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On March 29th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Raid
  • At 03:20, Israeli forces raided Qalandiya camp and searched 3 homes.
  • At 03:50, Israeli forces raided Al-Qubiba village.
Detention
  • At dawn on March 30th 2016, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Yusef Abu Al-Hawa and Ameer Abu Jum’a in Al-Tur neighbourhood.
Temporary Detention
  • At 02:45, Israeli forces temporarily detained 2 residents: Du’a Ahmad Mohammad Mashaher and Farah Ahmad Mohammad Mashaher at a Israeli Police station near “Malee Adumim” settlement in Jerusalem.
Destruction of Property
  • On March 29th 2016, Israeli forces stormed Al-Suwana neighbourhood in Jerusalem city and demolished a wooden storage room {used to house chickens} owned by Ribhi Ma’moun Jarradat.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 09:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • Since 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 16:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along Surda village road then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 16:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nabi Saleh village then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 13:00, Israeli forces raided Ramun village, demolished 4 residential dens and 2 livestock dens owned by Mohammad Ali Kahla, Qusay Ali Kahla,Aqab Ali Kahla and Suliman Ali Kahla.
  • At 01:55, Israeli forces raided Silwad town, took photographs of several homes then withdrew at 05:00.
  • At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Bireh city, stormed a home, detained a resident then withdrew at 05:15.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Ibrahim Jameel Matariya in Al-Bireh city.

JENIN

Closure
  • Since December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan and the south entrance of Ya’bad.
Raid
  • At 02:45, Israeli forces raided Bruqin town.
  • At 03:45, Israeli forces raided Jenin city and its camps, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes, detained 4 residents in the camp then withdrew at 05:30.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 4 residents: Mustafa Husam Tubasi, Tawfiq Ahmad Shalabi, Owus Istiteh and Issam Abu Khalifeh in Jenin camp.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of Roads
  • At 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Aqaba village with cement blocks.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Settlers Violence
  • On March 29th 2016, Israeli settlers stormed Rammin village and placed rocks along the main road leading to the north area of the village and blocked traffic.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Raid
  • At 19:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Fanduq village, stormed several merchant shops, inspected surveillance camera footage then withdrew at 22:30.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
  • At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 09:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Tel and Madma villages then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 16:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near “Yitzhar” settlement junction located in North Huwara town then searched residents and vehicles until 18:35.
Raid
  • At 04:15, Israeli forces raided Nablus city until 05:45.
Detention
  • At 24:00, Israeli forces detained 5 residents including 3 children:  Yazid Tarik Ali Musa (16 years old), Yusef Sa’ud Khader Odeh (15 years old), Mohammad Sa’ud Khader Odeh (17 years old), Mahmoud Faris Hamdan Odeh and Yahya Ismail Mustafa Odeh {All residents of Huwara town}.
Assaults on Property
  • On March 29th 2016, Israeli forces prevented several farmers from reaching their agricultural land located near “Yitmar” settlement in Beit Furiq town.
Settlers Violence
  • At 12:40, a group of Israeli settler stormed Ein Qub area located near the north hill of Nablus city and performed Talmudic rituals.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

  • Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

JERICHO

Closure
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

HEBRON

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  • Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
  • The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.
Raid
  • At 00:35, Israeli forces raided Al-Thahriya town and detained a resident.
  • At 01:15, Israeli forces raided Bani Na’im town and detained a resident.
  • At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Ithna then stormed and searched 2 homes,
Attack
  • At 22:20, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Aroub camp, fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged fire-bombing of a Israeli Military watch tower located near the entrance of the camp.
Detention
  • On March 29th 2016, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Ibrahimi mosque in the old city of Hebron detained Omar Al-Keri (A resident of the old city of Hebron) for allegedly finding a knife in his possession.
  • At dawn on March 30th 2016, Israeli forces detained Ahmad Raed Abu Ajamiya in Hebron city.
  • Israeli forces detained Ayman Yusef Ismail Al-Tal in Al-Thahriya.
  • Israeli forces detained Abdel-Rahman Mahmoud Thaher Hamidat in Bani Na’im town.
GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  •  
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by raiding and opening fire towards Central Gaza.
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Rafah.
  • Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire towards North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
Attack
  • On the morning of March 29th 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in West Beit Lahiya.
Detention
  • On March 28th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing detained Mohammad Kamal Rajib Abu Odeh (A resident of Rafah city) as he was travelling to receive medical treatment at a hospital in Ramallah city.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

CENTRAL GAZA

Raid
  • On the morning of March 29th 2016, Israeli forces escorting military bulldozers stormed 100m into the vicinity of east Al-Buriej camp and opened fire as they levelled a plot of agricultural land.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  • Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
  • Sufa Crossing is closed
  • Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA.
Attack
  • On the morning of March 29th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Rafah city.
