WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On March 27th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 12:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Eizariya town (located near “Malee Adumim” settlement) then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 14:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hizma village then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Duqqu village, detained 2 children then withdrew at 02:40.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Qusay Habis Rayan (17 years old) and Ahmad Mahmoud Subhi Marar (17 years old) in Beit Duqqu village.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 09:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 08:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint between Ras Kar Kar and Deir Ibzi’villages then searched residents and vehicles until 09:05.
  • At 12:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Silwad town then searched residents and vehicles until 13:20.
  • At 16:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Ein Sinya village roundabout (located along the main road connecting Ramallah and Nablus) then searched residents and vehicles until 17:30.
  • At 17:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Abboud town then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 09:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Yabroud village bridge then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 22:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Khirbithat Al-Misbah village then searched residents and vehicles until 23:05.
Raid
  • At 11:45, Israeli forces raided Sinjil town and summoned Hassan Ahmad Masalmeh a military order for his removal from a plot of land for a period of 7 days.
  • At 03:00, Israeli forces raided Beituniya town and detained 2 residents.
  • At 03:30, Israeli forces raided Deir Abu Mash’al village then stormed and searched several homes, detained 2 residents then withdrew at 06:30.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Qusay Abdel-Nasser Khalil and Yusef Amjad Marbou’ in Beituniya town.
  • Israeli forces detained Bara’ Ibrahim Salah and Yassin Samer Atta in Deir Abu Mash’al village.

JENIN

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan and the south entrance of Ya’bad.
Raid
  • At 00:50, Israeli forces raided Qabatiya town, clashed with several residents as they stormed, searched and photographed 3 homes owned by families of residents killed by Israeli forces.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of Roads
  • At 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Aqaba village with cement blocks

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • At 09:00 and again at 17:45, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 18:40.
Raid

At 01:15, Israeli forces raided Anabta town, stormed and searched 2 homes then withdrew at 04:00.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints

At 17:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 00:50, Israeli forces raided Qalqiliya city, stormed and searched a vehicle repair garage then withdrew at 05:40.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access. (ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin. (ii) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut. (iii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds. (iv) On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds. (v) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area. (vi) At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.

Military Checkpoints

At 15:55, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Beit Furiq checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 16:20.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 08:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Qablan and Yatma village then searched residents and vehicles until 10:20. (ii) At 16:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near “Shave Shomron” settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles until 17:35.

Raid

At 06:00, Israeli forces raided Iraq Burin village, stormed and searched 2 homes, detained 2 residents including a child then withdrew at 06:30.

Detention

(i) At 20:20, Israeli forces positioned near Huwara checkpoint detained Abdel-Rahman Waleed Al-Teti (Both residents of Al-Fuwar camp in Hebron District). (ii) Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Abdallah Munthir Ismail Qaddus (16 years old) and Ahed Husam Al-Faqiya in Iraq Burin village.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

At 15:00, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

At 11:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Yasuf village then searched residents and vehicles.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District
Raid

At 18:40, Israeli forces raided Ein Dwik Al-Foqa village.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  • Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds. (iv) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires. (v) At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds. (vi) On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main steel entrance gate leading to Um Al Rakaba area in Al-Khader town. (vii) At 22:40 on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed all entrances leading to Beit Fajjar thus preventing residents or vehicles from entering or exiting. (viii) At 12:25 on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Marah Rabah village.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 11:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Za’tara town bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 13:30. (ii) At 14:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Dar Salah village located at the east entrance of Beit Sahur, detained a resident then withdrew at14:50.

Raid

(i) At 01:35, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar town, stormed and searched 7 homes, detained a resident and summoned Ali Hussien Dariya to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 05:00. (ii) At 03:00, Israeli forces raided Husan village and detained a child.

Detention

(i) At 13:55, Israeli forces positioned at Container checkpoint detained Fadi Ahmad Musa (A resident of Yatta town in Hebron district). (ii) At 17:00, Israeli forces at Container checkpoint detained Rami Abed Mohammad Kalbouni (A resident of Nablus). (iii) Israeli forces detained Salti Ahmad Maurshid Thawabta in Beit Fajjar town. (iv) Israeli forces detained Mohammad Issa Hamamrah (17 years old).

HEBRON

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  • Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City. (ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds. (iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 08:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Fuwar camp then searched residents and vehicles until 10:00.

Raid

(i) At 08:50, Israeli forces raided Beit Ummar, stormed and searched a home. (ii) At 01:15, Israeli forces raided Hebron city, stormed and searched a steel mill owned by Mohammad Yacoub Abdel-Ghani Al-Nathsheh and confiscated several tools then stormed the homes of Abdallah Al-Qawasmi and Ammar Abu Aisheh then withdrew vat 05:50. (iii) At 03:00 on March 28th 2016, Israeli forces raided Bani Na’im town, stormed and searched a home and detained a resident.

Attack

(i) At 16:10, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Duwara area located in south Sa’ir town, fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents inside the camp for alleged stoning. (ii) At 21:30, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Aroub camp fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents inside the camp for alleged stoning.

Detention

(i) On the evening of March 26th 2016, Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Adeeb Shafiq Al-Qawasmeh , Khaled Yasseri Abdel-Fatah Sharif and Ayman Abdallah Al-Qawasmeh (All residents of Hebron city). (ii) Israeli forces detained Musa Daoud Tariyah in Bani Na’im.

Temporary Detention

(i) At 09:50, Israeli forces positioned near “Haji” settlement junction detained Ibrahim Abdel-Rahman Sha’ban Al-Khatib (A Preventive Security Force officer){A resident of Hebron} then released him at 20:40. (ii) At 12:40, Israeli forces positioned in Tel Al-Rumatda neighbourhood in the old city of Hebron detained Mahmoud Yusewwf Mohammad Abu Yusef (A photo journalist for Ma’an news channel) then released him at 13:00.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  •  
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Gaza, Khan Yunis and Rafah.
  •  
    Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
Attack

At 08:50, Israeli Naval vessel opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya.

Detention

On March 24th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing point detained Hani Fathi Sharab Islim (A resident of Gaza city) as he was travelling to treatment at a hospital in Jerusalem

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
Attack

(i) At 12:20, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Jahir Al-Dik town located in east Gaza city. (ii) At 14:55, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Zaytouneh town located in south east Gaza city.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack
  • At 09:45, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in east Khaz’a town.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  • Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
  • Sufa Crossing is closed
  • Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA.
Attack

At 08:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in North east Rafah city.
