WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On March 26th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 15:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hizma village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 19:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem then clashed with several residents.
Raid
  • At 19:25, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram.
Detention
  • On the evening of March 26th 2016, Israeli forces detained Ramadan Abu Hadwan in Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem city.
  • On March 26th 2016, Israeli forces detained Mu’tamid Najah Amar (A resident of Hizma village).
House Demolition

On March 25th 2016, Israeli forces stormed Qalandiya camp and served military orders for the demolition of 2 homes owned by Anan Abu Hasbah and Issa Yassin Assaf {2 residents who were killed by Israeli forces}.

Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 09:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Yabroud village bridge then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 20:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nabi Saleh village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 21:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Atarah bridge then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 26th 2016, Israeli forces raided Mazari’ Al-Nubani village and summoned Taha Ghazi Dagher to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
  • At 02:35, Israeli forces raided Al-Bireh city and summoned Hashim Issa Abu Awad to report to Israeli intelligence for questioning.
Temporary Detention
  • At 20:55, Israeli forces temporarily detained 2 children: Ayham Ashraf Subhi Awad (14 years old) and Sultan Ashraf Subhi Awad (13 years old) then released them at 21:40.

JENIN

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan and the south entrance of Ya’bad.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 18:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Beit Qad village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 20:00.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of Roads
  • At 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Aqaba village with cement blocks.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 17:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Attil town junction then searched residents and vehicles until 19:00.
Raid
  • At 20:50, Israeli forces raided Far’oun village, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 23:35.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Physical Assault

At 17:05, Israeli forces positioned near Azzun Atmah village assaulted Mohammad Omar Abdel-Kareem Al-Taweel (A resident of Kafr Sur village in Tulkarem) and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions

Demonstrations

At 17:30, a demonstration took place in Kafr Qaddum against the closure of the east entrance during which they clashed with Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration by firing live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach they demonstration site left several residents suffocating from tear gas inhalation.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access. (ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin. (ii) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut. (iii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds. (iv) On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds. (v) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area. (vi) At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.

Military Checkpoints

At 19:30, Israeli forces closed Beit Furiq checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic from both directions then clashed with several residents and reopened it at 20:35.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 15:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Osirin village then searched residents and vehicles until 14:30. (ii) At 17:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Burin village then searched residents and vehicles.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

  • At 13:50, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 15:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Harris village then searched residents and vehicles.
Detention
  • On March 25th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint junction and detained 2 residents: Arab Radwan Mustafa Daraghmeh and Muhanad Muwafaq Bahjat Sawafta {Both residents of Tubas}.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.
Flying Checkpoints

At 09:00 and again at 13:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho then searched residents and vehicles until 16:20.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  • Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

  • The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.

  • Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  • At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
  • On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main steel entrance gate leading to Um Al Rakaba area in Al-Khader town.
  • At 22:40 on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces  closed all entrances leading to Beit Fajjar thus preventing residents or vehicles from entering or exiting.
  • At 12:25 on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Marah Rabah village.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 19:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Beit Fajjar then searched residents and vehicles until 03:20.
  • At 20:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Dar Salah village located at the east entrance of Beit Sahur, detained a resident then withdrew at 21:30.
Raid
  • At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Obidiya village, detained a resident then withdrew at 03:20.
  • At 02:50, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar, detained a resident then withdrew at 03:20.
  • At 03:25, Israeli forces raided Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes and as a result injured Ramzi Ramadan and Mohammad Ma’ali and detained 3 residents including 2 children.
  • At 03:55, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem city and summoned Eyad Salamah Al-Dibis to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 04:45.
Detention
  • At 00:45, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Container checkpoint detained Haneen Abdel-Qadder Salah {A resident of Shwikiya neighbourhood in Tulkarem}.
  • Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint near Dar Salah village detained Rubien Samih Abu Ghaniya (A resident of Al-Doha town in Bethlehem).
  • Israeli forces detained Mohammad Ibrahim Abu Sarhan in Al-Obidiya town.
  • Israeli forces detained Saber Na’im Thawabtah in Beit Fajjar town.
  • Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Hamzah Nassar Abu Ajjamiya (16 years old), Oday Adnan Shihadeh (17 years old) and Mohammad Khaled Mahmoud Sha’fout in Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem city
Settlers Violence
  • At 18:10, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near “Kafr Itsyon” settlement roundabout stoned vehicles passing near the settlement and as a result damaged a vehicle owned by Ziyad Mohammad Mahmoud Taqatqa (A resident of Beit Fajjar).

HEBRON

Closure (per District)
  • The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  • Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City. (ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds. (iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 22:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Sa’ir town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 08:20, Israeli forces raided Yatta town until 08:50. (ii) At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Hebron, stormed a home, detained a resident then withdrew at 05:00.

Attack

At 20:10, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Aroub camp fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents inside the camp for alleged stoning.

Attack

Israeli forces detained Khaled Yusri Abdel-Fattah Al-Sharif in Hebron city.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards North Gaza and Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is closed.
Attack
  • On the evening of March 26th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Jabaliya.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
Attack

(i) At 15:10, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Jahir Al-Dik town located in east Gaza city. (ii) At 16:20, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Jahir Al-Dik town located in east Gaza city.

RAFAH

  • Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  • Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
