WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On March 18th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Attack
  • At 13:40, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Ram North junction fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 15:00, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Eizariya town fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 16:00, Israeli forces positioned in Abu Dis fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  • At 15:00, Israeli forces positioned near “Benjamin” settlement detained 2 children: Oday Mizhir (16 years old) and Yunis Mizhir (15 years old){both residents of Qalandiya camp).
Temporary Detention
  • At 09:00, Israeli forces temporarily detained Mohammad Abu Al-Humus (A resident of Al-Eisawiya) for attempting to organize a Marathon to coincide with a Marathon organized by Israeli authorities then released him after the marathon ended.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • Since 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 16:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nabi Saleh village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 17:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah bridge then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 17:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area located between Ras Kar Kar and Deir Ibzi’ villages then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 07:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Rima town then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces raided Beitin village then stormed and searched 2 homes.
Attack
  • 13:00, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Al-Jalazoun camp fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 13:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Silwad town; fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured 2 residents.
  • At 13:15, Israeli forces positioned near “Ofar” Military base/ Prison fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Demonstrations
  • At 12:50, a demonstration took place in Ni’lin village protesting against the construction of the wall during which they clashed with Israeli forces and as a result suffocated several residents from tear gas inhalation.
  • At 12:50, a demonstration took place in Bil’in protesting against the construction of the wall during which they clashed with Israeli forces and as a result left several residents suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • At 12:50, a demonstration took place in An Nabi Saleh village protesting against land confiscation for the purpose of settlement construction and as a result suffocated several residents from tear gas inhalation.

JENIN

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.

  • At 10:20, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Jamalah checkpoint temporarily detained 2 residents: Osama Bassam Kharouf and Ali Awad Abdel-Jaber {both residents of Odala town}as they were awaiting the release of a Palestinian detainee

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
  • At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
Raid
  • At 18:00, Israeli forces raided Tel village then stormed and searched a home.
Temporary Detention
  • At 16:40, Israeli forces temporarily detained Oday Allan Ishtayeh, Ismail Nafe’ Istayeh and Saleem Turki Hamdan and released them at 17:25.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 13:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Azzun and Izbit Al-Tabib village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 13:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along the main road near the entrance of Kafr Laqif village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 14:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Azzun and Kafr Thulth then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 15:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles.
Attack
  • At 15:15, Israeli forces positioned near the wall gate in west Jayyous fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and then temporarily detained 2 children: Muhanad Taher Jaber (13 years old) and Fadil Al-Rahman Husam Kherisheh (14 years old) then released them at a later time
Demonstrations

At 12:30, a demonstration took place in Kafr Qaddum against the closure of the east entrance during which they clashed with Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration by firing live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach they demonstration site left several residents suffocating from tear gas inhalation.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access. (ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland. (ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Land Confiscation

On March 18th 2016, Israeli forces confiscated a plot of land located behind the wall gate in east Jericho which is owned by estate of Ahmad Khalaf Awijat after they received a letter from the Israeli Military stating that the land is now considered state property and they have 45 days from March 18th 2016 to report to “Bet El” settlement.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  • Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

  • The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.

  • Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  • At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
  • On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main steel entrance gate leading to Um Al Rakaba area in Al-Khader town.
  • At 22:40 on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces  closed all entrances leading to Beit Fajjar thus preventing residents or vehicles from entering or exiting.
  • At 12:25 on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Marah Rabah village.
Raid
  • At 20:40, Israeli forces raided Husan village and detained 3 children.
  • At 00:35, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem city and Al-Ayda camp and Irtas village then summoned 8 residents including a child and a Palestinian Intelligence Officer: Mohammad Imad Salhab (17 years old), Bader Khaled Salahat (Palestinian Intelligence Officer), Murad Abdel-Raheem Salhab, Abboud Khader Nuwarah, Mohammad Jamal Ahmad Abu Jalghif, Ibrahim Yahya Da’amseh, Samed Ahmad Nimr Al-Aniq and Widad Qassim Al-Azraq then withdrew at 03:55.
  • At 00:35, Israeli forces raided Marah Rabah village and then summoned Ali Mahmoud Ali Al-Shiekh to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 01:00.
  • At 01:10, Israeli forces raided Al-Amour and Al-Manshiya areas in Teqou’ town and summoned Moath Ibrahim Al-Amour to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 03:25.
  • At 01:50, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar, stormed and searched several homes and summoned 3 residents: Khaled Taqatqa, Maher Taqatqa and Sami Mohamad Taqatqa to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 04:00.
Attack
  • At 13:15, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Billal Bin Rabah mosque located in North Bethlehem fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured 2 residents including a child: Yusef Mohammad Ibrahim Jawarish (17 years old) and Imad Abdallah Ibrahim Abu Sha’riya as well as leaving several residents suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • At 14:45 and again at 18:10, Israeli forces positioned at the west entrance of Teqou’ fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured 2 residents: Dakhlallah Habis Al-Amour and Mohammad Habis Al-Amour and temporarily seized a Ambulance as they were transporting injured residents  then allowed them to pass through at 18:50.
  • At 18:20, Israeli forces positioned in Um Al-Rakaba area located in Al-Khader fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 18:20, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Billal Bin Rabah mosque located in North Bethlehem fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Killings
  • At 15:30, Mahmoud Mohammad Ahmad Abu Fanounah (21 years old) {A resident of Hebron city} was killed after Israeli opened fire towards him for allegedly attempting to stab a Israeli soldier near “Kafr Itsiyon” settlement {As alleged by the Israeli Military.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 3 residents:  Mahmoud Ali Mustafa Shusha (15 years old), Abdel-Aziz Bassam Mohammad Abdel-Qadder Hamarah (14 years old) and Suhiel Mohammad Nimr Sbatin (16 years old).
Temporary Detention
  • At 15:40, Israeli forces positioned near Kafr Itsiyon settlement junction temporarily detained Hisham Abu Shaqra (A journalist){A resident of Marah Ma’la village {as he was taking photographs of Israeli forces as they opened fire towards and killed Mahmoud Mohammad Ahmad Abu Fanounah} then released him at 22:00.

HEBRON

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  • Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
  • The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 15:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Bani Na’im then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 19:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the North entrance of Sa’ir town then searched residents and vehicles until 21:20.
Raid
  • At 14:20, Israeli forces raided Hebron city and summoned 2 residents: Fadi Hani Taha and Mohammad Hani Taha then withdrew at 02:00.
  • At 00:50, Israeli forces raided Dura, stormed a home and summoned Qassim Mohammad Obiedo to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 02:00.
Temporary Detention
  • At 16:00, Israeli forces temporarily detained 2 children: Mohammad Jamal Abu Sal (14 years old) and Mohammad Imad Al-Teti (14 years old) near the entrance of Al-Aroub camp then released them at 17:15.
GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards North Gaza, Gaza, Central Gaza, and Khan Yunis and as a result injured 9 residents.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
Attack
  • At 13:30, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents in the vicinity of Beit Hanun (Erez) Crossing point as they were participating in demonstration protesting against the continues Israeli Military and settler assault on Al-Aqsa mosque compound and as a result injured 3 residents.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
Attack
  • At 08:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood located in east Gaza city.
  • At 11:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Shuja’iya neighbourhood located in east   Gaza city.
  • At 13:30, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents located in the vicinity of Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing in east Gaza fired tear gas grenades towards several residents   in North Beit Lahiya Jabaliya as they were protesting the Israeli Military and settler assault on Al-Aqsa mosque compound and as a result injured 3 residents

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack
  • At 14:15, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents in east Al-Buriej camp as they were protesting against Israeli assault on Al-Aqsa mosque compound and against Palestinian citizens and as a result left 3 residents suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack
  • At 14:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Fakhari town and as a result injured a resident.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  • Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
  • Sufa Crossing is closed
  • Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is closed.
