WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On March 16th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of Checkpoints
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 10:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Al-Khan Al-Ahmar area {located along the main road connecting Jerusalem and Jericho} then detained a resident.
  • At 19:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along Salah Al-Din road located in the old city of Jerusalem then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 07:00 on March 16th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Sawahra Al-Sharqiya village, stormed several homes, detained 7 residents, confiscated a Lathe machine, and temporarily detained 2 residents: Ali Fahed Za’tra Hassan Fahed Za’tarah then released them at a later time and withdrew at 12:50.
  • At 02:50, Israeli forces raided Biddu and Beit Duqqu village, stormed and searched several homes and detained 4 residents in Beit Duqqu village.
  • At dawn on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Eisawiya village and detained a resident.
Detention
  • On March 16th 2016, Israeli forces detained 4 residents: Abed Mahmoud Abu Daya , Eyad Mahmoud Abu Daya, Bara Rahib Abu Daya and Hatab Raja Ahmad Hatab in Jerusalem city for allegedly entering the city without valid entry permits.
  • On March 16th 2016, Israeli forces detained the child Rami Mahmoud Darwish (14 years old) in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood.
  • On March 16th 2016, Israeli forces detained Ahmad Ali Darish (A resident of Al-Eisawiya village).
  • Israeli forces positioned at a checkpoint near Al-Khan Al-Ahmar area {located along the main road connecting Jerusalem and Jericho}.detained Raed Mahmoud Al-Atrash {A resident of Hebron}.
  • Israeli forces detained 7 residents: Musa Hassan, Noah Fahed Za’tarah, Ra’fat Shqirat, Musa Ja’farZa’tara, Urwa Abdel-Qadder, Majdi Abdel Aziz Ja’far and Alaa Shqerat in Al-Sawahra Al-Sharqiya village.
  • At Israeli forces detained 4 residents: Ameen Yaseen Rayan, Yusef Masaud Rayan, Sayil Salah Rayan and Mohammad Shaher Marar in Beit Duqu village.
  • Israeli forces detained Ghassib Obied in Al-Eisawiya village.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 10:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 13:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah bridge then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 13:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near “Halamish” settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 14:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Ein Ayoub area located near Ras Kar Kar village then searched residents and vehicles until 15:55.
  • At 17:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Beitin village then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 16th 2016, Israeli forces raided Kafr Ni’meh village then stormed and searched 2 homes.
  • At 09:40, Israeli forces raided Beit Sira village and detained a resident.
  • At 18:05, Israeli forces raided Arroura town, clashed with several residents and as a result left Abdel-Rhman Fat’hi Arouri with a fractured leg after he fell as they were chasing him and withdrew at 18:55.
  • At 20:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Ur At Tahta, stormed and searched a home, temporarily detained  Majd Nafe’ Tabeeb (15 years old) and released him at a later time then withdrew at 21:50.
  • At 21:15, Israeli forces raided Al-Mughier village, clashed with several residents and as a result injured Abdel-Hameed Fat’hi Abu Aliya then withdrew at 21:50.
  • At 01:10, Israeli forces raided Beituniya, stormed several homes, detained a National Security Force officer then withdrew at 02:15.
  • At 01:55, Israeli forces raided Beit Liqya, clashed with several residents as they stormed a home, detained a resident then withdrew at 02:15.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Ali Hamdan in Beit Sira village.
  • Israeli forces detained Islam Salah Badr in Beit Liqya town.

JENIN

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.

  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan and the south entrance of Ya’bad.

TUBAS

Closure of Roads

Since 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with Cement blocks.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • At 20:55, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 23:30.
Raid
  • At 11:25, Israeli forces raided Beit Lid town until 13:05.

QALQILIYA

Closure
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 11:30, Israeli forces positioned near Jit village junction then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 18:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Jayyus and Azzun then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Kafr Qaddum village, stormed 2 homes, summoned Qusay Amjad Abdel-Latif Ishtewi to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 02:05
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
  • At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Odala villages with dirt mounds.

  • At 12:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Deir Sharaf village junction located along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem then searched resident and vehicles.
  • At 12:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Deir Sharaf village junction then searched resident and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Beita, demolished 7 merchant shops , a Fruit and vegetable shop and a bathroom located in the Central market owned by  Nabih Nasser Ma’la, Mohammad Suleiman Bani Shamsa, Imad Hilal Bani Shamseh, Abdel-Raziq Hussien Qutush, Musbah Abu Al-Hakam, Al-Asi Famiy and Abu Muslama family.
  • At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Beit Furiq town, stormed 8 homes then withdrew at 05:15.
  • At 03:40, Israeli forces raided Iraq Burin village, stormed a home and detained a child.
  • At dawn on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces raided Assirah Al-Shimaliya town and detained 3 residents.
Detention
  • On March 15th 2016, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Yahya Suliman Salah (A resident of Assira Al-Qibliyeh village).
  • At 14:00, Israeli forces detained the child Fateh Mohammad Ismail Qaddus (16 years old0 {A resident of Iraq Burin village} as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
  • Israeli forces detained Yazan Ayash Jaber Qaddus (15 years old) in A resident of Iraq Burin village.
  • Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Abdel-Majeed Mohammad Odah Sawalmah, Isam Jamal Daghlas and Ayoub Hassan Hamadna in Assirah Al-Shimaliya town.
Physical Assault
  • At 22:45, Israeli forces positioned at Beit Furiq checkpoint assaulted Amjad Ameen Malitat (A resident of Beit Furiq) and as a result left him hospitalised with contusions.
Settlers Violence
  • At 19:30, Israeli settlers positioned near Deir Sharaf village junction stoned vehicles and resident passing along the main road in the area and as a result shattered the windshield of a vehicle owned by Salem Abu Al-Abbas (A resident of Qalqiliya city).

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

  •  Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at  Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  • At 19:25, Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District

  • At 21:35, Israeli forces raided Al-Jiflik village, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 23:25.
  • At 01:15, Israeli forces raided Al-Oja village, stormed a home, detained a resident then withdrew at 04:40.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Mamdouh Abdel-Salam Nojoum in Al-Oja village.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  • Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

  • Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  • At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
  • On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main steel entrance gate leading to Um Al Rakaba area in Al-Khader town.
Raid
  • At 07:50 on March 16th 2016, Israeli forces raided Wadi Rahal village, stormed a agricultural storage room owned by Amar Hussein Mahmoud Kamil.
  • At 11:10, Israeli forces raided Al-Obidiya.
Temporary Detention
  • At 11:30, Israeli forces positioned near “Betar Aliyat” settlement temporarily detained the child Yazen Khaled Badr Shusheh (16 years old) {A resident of Husan village for allegedly finding a knife in his possession then released him at a later time.
House Demolition
  • At 07:20 on March 16th 2016, Israeli forces demolished a home {consisting of 2 floors} owned by Judah Masaud Musa located in Al-Sharafah area located in west Al-Khader town for allegedly being built without a licence.

HEBRON

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  • Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
  • The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 16th 2016, Israeli forces raided Beit Ummar and detained 2 residents.
  • At 09:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Thahriya town, stormed and searched a home and confiscated a vehicle.
  • At 21:00, Israeli forces raided Hebron, stormed a building, detained a resident and closed down a vegetable shop leased by Qassim Jaber {who was killed by Israeli forces} then withdrew at 04:35.
  • At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Yatta, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 04:35.
Detention
  • At 10:00, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Al-Shuhada road in the old city of Hebron detained Sari Sami Tumizah (A resident of Ithna).
  • Israeli forces detained Sha’ban Mahmoud Ibrahim Abu Ayash and Ahmad Ammar Ahamd Abu Judeh in Beit Ummar.
  • Israeli forces detained Khalil Waleed Al-Qameri in Hebron city.
GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Gaza, Central Gaza and Khan Yunis.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

  • At 16:15, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in east Gaza city.

CENTRAL GAZA

  • At 14:30, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in east Al-Buriej camp.
