WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On March 15th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 14:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Bir Nabala town then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram until 03:10.
Killings
  • At 16:40, Nihad Fawzi Mutier (24 years old) {A resident of Qalandiya Camp} died of injuries sustained during confrontations with Israeli forces as the stormed Qalandiya camp as mentioned in the report of Match 1st 2016.
Attack
  • At 19:30, Israeli forces positioned near Ein Al-Louza area in Silwan neighbourhood in Jerusalem fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  • At 10:00, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Rami Zahakiya and Shadi Halsah in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood.
  • At 21:30, Israeli forces detained Usayed  Afanah (A resident of Jerusalem) as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.
  • At 19:00, Israeli forces positioned near the east entrance of Jerusalem city detained Aboud Abdel-Rahman (A resident of Shu’fat camp.
House Demolition
  • On the morning of March 15th 2016, Israeli forces stormed Al-Thuri neighbourhood and served military orders for the demolition of a home owned by Abu Sal’oum family for allegedly being built without proper licencing.
Destruction of Property
  • At 11:00, Israeli forces stormed Beit Hanina and demolished foundations of a building under construction and 4 storage dens owned by Waleed Harb.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 08:30, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 09:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 12:00.
  • At 21:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Silwad and detained a resident.
Raid
  • At 05:05, Israeli forces raided Beitin village then stormed and searched 2 homes.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Billal Tariq Ahmad Hamad (A resident of Silwad) near the entrance of Silwad town.

JENIN

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan and the south entrance of Ya’bad.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 10:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Arraba junction then searched residents and vehicles until 11:30.
  • At 11:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Kafr Ra’I and Al-Ramma villages then searched residents and vehicles until 12:00.
Detention
  • At 20:45, Israeli forces detained Ahmad Bassam Mohammad Kamil (A resident of Qabatiya) as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of Roads
  • At 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with Cement blocks.

TULKAREM

Closure of Roads

  • Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Raid
  • At 17:30, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem city, stormed Al-Khodary University in Tulkarem city and searched several class rooms then withdrew at 21:40.
  • At 22:10, Israeli forces raided Kafr Sur village.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 13:50, Israeli forces positioned near Jinsafout village junction then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 15:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hablah town tunnel {located at the east entrance of Qalqiliya} then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 11:35, Israeli forces raided Hablah town.
Physical Assault
  • At 11:55, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Azzun Atma assaulted Islam Ali Abdallah Assaf (A resident of Kafr Laqif village) and as a result left him hospitalised with contusions
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
  • At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
  • At 17:00 on March 11th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Qabalan and Yatma villages and the road connecting Qabalan and Al-Sawiya villages with dirt mounds.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces raided Nablus and Askar camp then detained a resident from the camp.
  • At 18:10, Israeli forces raided Awarta village and clashed with several residents.
  • At 02:05, Israeli forces raided Beit Iba until 03:30.
Detention
  • At 14:30, Israeli forces positioned at Huwara checkpoint detained Jaffar Jamal Ahed Al-Almah (A resident of Qablan town).
  • Israeli forces detained Mohammad Abdel-Jaleem in Askar camp.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

  • Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Raid
  • At 00:30, Israeli forces raided Kafr Ad Dik town, stormed 2 homes, detained a resident then withdrew at 03:25.
Detention
  • At 10:15, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint junction detained the child: Shaymah Nasser Khaled Atatrah (17 years old) {A resident of Ya’bad town in Jenin district} for allegedly carrying a knife.
  • Israeli forces detained Ameer  Tawfiq Omar Ali Ahmad in Kafr Al-Dik.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.
Flying Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.
Land Confiscation
  • On March 15th 2016, Israeli forces confiscated 2342 dunumes {approximately 579 acres} of land located near the Dead Sea in Jericho city and declared the area as property of the State of Israel for the purpose of settlement construction and expansion.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  • Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

  • The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.

  • At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
  • On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main steel entrance gate leading to Um Al Rakaba area in Al-Khader town.
Military Checkpoints
  • At 09:15, Israeli forces closed Al-Container checkpoint and impeded then free flow of traffic and reopened it at a later time.
Raid
  • At 09:55, Israeli forces raided Husan village, stormed a home and detained a child.
  • At 20:00, Israeli forces raided Nihalin village, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 21:50.
  • At 22:35, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 03:15.
  • At 01:35, Israeli forces raided Taqou’.
Attack
  • At 11:10, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Husan village fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured Mohammad Ibrahim Nasser Za’oul after he was struck by a tear gas grenades canister.
  • At 11:45, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Khader fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Mohammad Ibrahim Hassan Abu Yabis (14 years old).
Assaults on Property
  • At 10:40, Israeli forces stormed Al-Waljah village and served a military order to halt construction on 2 buildings owned by Ibrahim Ali Ibrahim Al-Araj and Ibrahim Niroukh for allegedly being built without a licence.

HEBRON

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  • Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

  • The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
  • The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

  • At 09:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Fah’s area located in South Hebron city.
  • At 14:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Bani Na’im then searched residents and vehicles.

  • At 00:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Thahriya, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 03:15.
Attack
  • At 12:35, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Al-Shuhada’ road in the old city of Hebron fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 15:00, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Aroub camp fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning towards a group of Israeli settlers who stormed the main road near the camp.
Detention
  • On the morning of March 15th 2016, Israeli forces detained 5 residents including a child: Abdel-Kareem Mahmoud Muhiesin (17 years old) {A resident of Al-Aroub camp}, Mahmoud Mohammad Jawabrah (A resident of Al-Aroub camp), Hazim Mohammad Tariyah (A resident of Bani Na’im) and Nassar Nasir Nassar (A resident of Dura).
GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement after it raided and opened fire towards Khan Yunis.
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards North Gaza.
  • Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
Attack
  • At 23:15, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Beit Hanoun.
  • At 23:30, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in West Beit Lahiya.
  • At 00:20, , Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in West Beit Lahiya

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

KHAN YUNIS

Raid
  • At 08:30, Israeli forces escorting Military Bulldozers stormed 100m into the vicinity of east Khaz’a town, levelled a plot of land then withdrew at 12:00.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  • Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
  • Sufa Crossing is closed
  • Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA.
