WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  1. On March 11th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  3. The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  1. Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  2. On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
  3. At 17:40, Israeli forces closed Jaba’ checkpoint which is located along the main road connecting Jerusalem, Ramallah &Al-Bireh and Jericho districts thus impeding the free flow of traffic until 21:05.

  1. At 11:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Bir Nabala bridge then searched residents and vehicles.
  2. At 15:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Eizariya town junction then searched residents and vehicles.
  3. At 17:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the North junction of Al-Ram then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  1. At 06:00 on March 11th 2016, Israeli forces raided Qalandiya camp and detained a resident.
  2. At 10:35, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya.
  3. At 02:10, Israeli forces raided Bir Nabala until 04:20.
Attack
  1. At 15:00, Israeli forces positioned near  Al-Jabal area junction in Abu Dis town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured 4 residents {including 1 with a serious eye injury} and left several others suffocated from tear has inhalation.
  2. At 22:00, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Ram junction fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  1. On March 9th 2016, Israeli forces detained the child Suhayeb Mohammad Ahmad Hushiyeh (17 years old) {A resident of Qutna village.}

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  2. At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 22:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Atarah bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 23:50.
  2. At 23:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Dura and Ein Sinya village roundabout {located along the main road connecting Ramallah &Al-Bireh district with Nablus District} then searched residents and vehicles until 23:50.
  3. At 00:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrances of Beit Ur Al-Foqa and Beit Ur Al-Tahta villages {for the alleged shooting incident towards Israeli forces located at a checkpoint on road (443) located near the villages} and impeded the free flow of traffic with the exception medical emergencies.
Raid
  1. At dawn on March 11th 2016, Israeli forces raided Yabroud village and detained a University student.
  2. At dawn on March 11th 2016, Israeli forces raided Beit Ur Al-Tahta village and detained a resident.
  3. At 00:25, Israeli forces raided Beituniya and confiscated surveillance camera footage from several merchant shops.
Detention
  1. At 23:45, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Mahkameh checkpoint near Bet El settlement located in North Al-Bireh city detained Awwad Kahlah (A resident of Ramoun village).
  2. Israeli forces detained Abdel Rahman Alwan in Ein Yabroud village.
  3. Israeli forces detained Wael Ra’fat Yusef Alwan in Beit Ur Al-Tahta village.
Attack

  3. At 16:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Silwad town; fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured 2 residents.
  4. At 17:10, Israeli forces positioned near at the entrance of Kafr Malik village fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Demonstrations
  1. At 12:25, a demonstration took place in Ni’lin village protesting against the construction of the wall during which they clashed with Israeli forces and as a result suffocated several residents from tear gas inhalation.
  2. At 12:25, a demonstration took place in Bil’in protesting against the construction of the wall during which they clashed with Israeli forces and as a result left several residents suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  3. At 12:25, a demonstration took place in An Nabi Saleh village protesting against land confiscation for the purpose of settlement construction and as a result injured the child Hamoudeh Naji Al-Tamimi (15 years old) after a tear gas grenade canister struck him and also suffocated several residents from tear gas inhalation.

JENIN

Closure

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan and the south entrance of Ya’bad.
Raid
  1. At 09:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Hashimiya village until 11:20.
Attack
  1. At 15:00, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Shuhada’ village junction fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and detained a resident.
Detention
  1. At 19:00, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Shuhada’ village junction detained 2 residents including a child: Mahmoud Ahmad Zakarneh (17 years old) and Ahmad Qassim Zakarnah.
  2. Israeli forces positioned near Al-Shuhada’ village junction detained Ameer Hashim Ibrahim Assous.
Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

(i) At 12:40, Israeli forces raided Irtah neighborhood in Tulkarem until 14:10. (ii) At 17:00, Israeli forces raided Quffin town and detained 2 residents.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Mohammad Adnan Yusef Sabah and Adham Mohammad Sa’id Sabah in Quffin town.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  1. Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  2. In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  3. Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints

At 19:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hajja village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 02:40, Israeli forces raided Hajja village, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 03:40.

Temporary Detention

At 07:10, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Hajja village temporarily detained Darwish Ziyad Basalat {A Police Force officer} then released him at a later time.

Demonstrations

At 12:30, a demonstration took place in Kafr Qaddum against the closure of the east entrance during which they clashed with Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration by firing live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach they demonstration site left several residents suffocating from tear gas inhalation

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access. (ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin. (ii) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut. (iii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds. (iv) On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds. (v) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area. (vi) At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 21:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Qabalan town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 00:45, Israeli forces raided Qabalan town until 03:30.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  2. Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  • At 11:05, Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

At 16:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at near Al-Shalat junction in Al-Oja village then searched residents and vehicles until 16:15.

At 17:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Oja village.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  1. The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  2. Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds. (iv) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires. (v) At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds. (vi) On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main steel entrance gate leading to Um Al Rakaba area in Al-Khader town.

Flying Checkpoints

At 15:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Teqou’ then searched residents and vehicles until 16:00.

Raid

(i) At 02:15, Israeli forces raided Beit Jallah city and summoned Shadi Mohammad Badounah to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning. (ii) At 02:55, Israeli forces raided Taqou’

Attack

(i) At 13:00, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Billal Bin Rabah mosque located in North Bethlehem fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured 4 residents including a child: Jamil Issa Hanthal (15 years old), Salah Sa’di Al-Laham, Mahdi Ali Radwan Shahian, Ibrahim Awad Abiyat s well as shattering the front windshield of an Ambulance {Red Crescent Society}which left 2 paramedics : Waleed Shqerat and Rami Nofal injured after rubber coated steel bullets struck the ambulance as well as leaving several residents suffocated from tear gas inhalation. (ii) At 15:45, Israeli forces positioned in Um Al-Rakaba area located in Al-Khaader town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning. (iii) At 16:00, Israeli forces positioned near Taqou’ fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

At 20:00 on March 10th 2016, Israeli forces detained Lutfi Salah Al-Din Salah during their raid into Al-Khader in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.

HEBRON

Closure
  1. The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  2. Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City. (ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds. (iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Raid

(i) At 08:30, Israeli forces raided Wadi Al-Shajnah village (for the alleged throwing of a Molotov cocktail bomb towards a Israeli settler vehicle near “Emanuael” settlement”) then stormed and searched several homes. (ii) At 18:00, Israeli forces raided Abu Al-Asja village and confiscated surveillance camera footage from a computer store.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards North Gaza, Gaza, Central Gaza, Khan Yunis and Rafah.
  • Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza.
  • Israeli Military aircrafts broke the ceasefire agreement by launching missiles in 4 consecutive airstrikes towards North Gaza and Gaza which killed a child and left 5 others including 2 children critically injured.
  • Palestinian gunmen broke the cease fire agreement by launching 4 projectiles towards the Green Line.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

(i) At 09:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in east Jabaliya town. (ii) At 13:15, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents in the vicinity of Beit Hanun (Erez) Crossing point as they were participating in demonstration protesting against the continues Israeli Military and settler assault on Al-Aqsa mosque compound and as a result injured 2 residents and left 4 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation. (iii) At 16:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the green Line fired live ammunition; rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents in Burat Abu Samra area located in North Beit Lahiya. (iv) At 17:15, Israeli Naval vessels launched shells and opened fire toward Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya. (v) At 22:20, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire toward Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya. (vi) At 23:40, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire toward Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya. (vii) At 00:20, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire toward Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya.

Air Strike

At 02:20, Israeli Military Air crafts launched 4 missiles {2 consecutive strikes} towards Palestinian Gunmen located in Beit Lahoya and as a result killed a child and left 2 other children: Ayoub Suliman Abu Khousah (13 years old) and Isra’ Suliman Abu Khusa (6 years old) critically injured.

Killings

Israeli airstrikes killed the child Yassin Suliman Abu Khusa (10 years old).

Palestinian Attacks

At 22:30, Palestinian gunmen launched 4 projectiles towards the Green Line as alleged by the Israeli Military.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  1. Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  2. Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
Attack

(i) At 08:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Jahir Al-Dik town located in east Gaza city. (ii) At 00:20, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Jahir Al-Dik town located in east Gaza city. (iii) At 14:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents located in the vicinity of Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing in east Gaza fired tear gas grenades towards several residents in North Beit Lahiya Jabaliya as they were protesting the Israeli Military and settler assault on Al-Aqsa mosque compound and as a result injured a resident and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

Air Strike

At 02:40, Israeli Military Air crafts launched 5 missiles{2 consecutive strikes} towards Palestinian Gunmen located in Al-Zaytouneh neighborhood located in south east Gaza city and in Jabal Sanouri area located in east Gaza city.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack

At 14:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents in east Al-Buriej camp as they were protesting against Israeli assault on Al-Aqsa mosque compound and against Palestinian citizens and as a result left 3 residents suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

At 14:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Fakhari town.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  1. Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  2. Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed

  4. Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is closed.

At 09:30, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in North east Rafah city.
