WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On March 2nd 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu’fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Raid
  • At 22:00, Israeli forces raided Hizma village and demolished a gas station owned by Haytham Abdel-Nabi Al-Hilo and Assad Sa’ed Salah Al-Did and demolished a baracks owned by Firas Majid Salah for allegedly being built without proper licences then withdrew at 01:30.
  • At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya town.
  • At 02:15, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram then stormed and searched several homes.
Detention
  1. At dawn on March 2nd 2016, Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Al-Shawish (15 years old) in Al-Suwana neighbourhood in Jerusalem.
  2. At 18:00, Israeli forces detained 2 children: Ameer Ismail Hamad (17 years old) and Mu’tasim Jafar Hamad (17 years old) {Both residents of Qalandiya camp} as they were reporting to Israeli intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.
  3. At 18:00, Israeli forces detained 2 children: Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Salaymeh (15 years old) and Adham Ali  Ja’abis (16 years old). In Ras Al-Amoud neighbourhood in Jerusalem.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 08:00, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages and in Deir Ibzi’ village with dirt mounds.
  • On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.
  • At 09:20 on February 9th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Shuqba and Sabatini villages with cement blocks and also installed a steel gate in the area.
  • At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire towards Bet El settlement as alleged by the Israeli Military.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 08:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Atara bridge located in North Bir Ziet and detained 3 residents.
  • At 09:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Mughier village then searched residents and vehicles until 09:45.
  • At 10:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Silwad then searched residents and vehicles until 14:10.
Raid
  • At dawn on March 2nd 2016, Israeli forces raided Deir Ghassaneh town and detained a resident.
  • At dawn on March 2nd 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Bireh city, stormed a home and summoned Jihad Mohammad Mahmoud Khasib to report to Israeli intelligence for questioning.
  • At dawn on March 2nd 2016, Israeli forces raided Qubar village and summoned Khaldoun Rohi Asfour Al-Barghouthi to report to Israeli intelligence for questioning.
  • At 11:45, Israeli forces raided Deir Jreir village until 12:15.
  • At 12:20, Israeli forces raided Beit Liqya until 12:35.
  • At 13:30, Israeli forces raided Beitin village until 14:00.
  • At 02:10, Israeli forces raided Al-Jalazoun camp, stormed and searched 2 homes and summoned Khaled Sa’adat Safi to report to Israeli intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 02:40.
  • At 03:00, Israeli forces raided Kafr Malik village and summoned Ziyad Kamil Bi’irat to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Mohammad Samir Sha’bi in Deir Ghassaneh town
  • Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Adham Subhi Al-Haj, Ahmad Adham Subhi Al-Haj and Naser Adham Subhi Al-Haj near Atarah bridge.

JENIN

Closure
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
  • Since the evening of November 25th 2012, Israeli forces closed the western entrance of Ya’bad.
Raid
  • At 14:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Hadad Al-Siyahiya village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 15:50.
  • At 14:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Ya’bad junction then searched residents and vehicles until 16:15.
Detention
  • At dawn on March 2nd 2016, Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Imad Ahmad Kamil Hrizallah, Majd Jameel Jarban and Amjad Jameel Jarban during their raid into Ya’bad in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.
  • At 21:00, Israeli forces positioned near “Movo Dotan” settlement detained 2 residents: Ibrahim Fathi Mohammad Al-Amour and Bara’ Riyad Khamis Abu Abed {both residents of Jenin}.
  • Israeli forces detained Yazan Husni Arqawi and Imad Ahmad Jamil Saba’neh in Jenin.
Temporary Detention
  • At 22:30, Israeli forces positioned near Ya’bad detained Atef Khaled Abu Shamalah and Daoud Suliman Abu Shamalah {both residents of Ya’bad} in Ya’bad.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 18:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Izbit Shufa village then searched residents and vehicles until 19:50.
Raid
  • At 15:30 and again at 01:55, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem and detained a resident after storming his home then withdrew at 04:15.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Mohammad Safarini in Tulkarem city.
House Demolition
  • At 05:30 on March 2nd 2016, Israeli forces stormed Shwakiya neighbourhood in Tulkarem city and demolished a home owned by Khalil Atyani for allegedly being built too close to the separation wall.
Land Levelling
  • At 08:00, Israeli forces stormed the area located in between Kafa and Izbit Shufa village and levelled a plot of land approximately 2 dunumes and demolished a agricultural Green house owned by Ibrahim Hamad  during which Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents as they attempted to prevent then demolition during which Israeli forces assaulted 2 residents: Muhanad Ahamd Abdel-Kareem Darbawi and Mu’tasim Ibrahim Hamad and as a result left them hospitalised with contusions.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 09:40 and again at 19:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Jit village junction {for the alleged stabbing of 2 Israeli Soldiers near “Bargha” settlement located in Nablus district) until 00:30then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 10:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Izbit Al-Tabib village, temporarily detained Munthir Jadou’ after strip searching him then released him at a later time.
Raid
  • At 21:50, Israeli forces raided Immatin village.
  • At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Azzun and detained a resident after storming his home.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Ghalib Hijazi Salah Shbitah in Azzun.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of Crossing Points
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
  • At 07:00 on March 3rd 2016, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin vilage with dirt mounds.
Military Checkpoints
  • At 19:30, Israeli forces closed Beit Furiq checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic for the alleged attempted stabbing of 2 Israeli soldiers near “Bargha” settlement then reopened it at a later time.
  • At 11:20 and again at 12:30 and 19:30, Israeli forces closed Huwara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic for the alleged attempted stabbing of 2 Israeli soldiers near “Bargha” settlement.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 14:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near “Yitzhar” settlement junction located in North Huwara and prevented the free flow of traffic from travelling along the bypass road leading to Jit village in Qalqiliya i9n order to allow Israeli settler to enter the area then again ta 19:30 impeded the free flow of traffic for the alleged attempted stabbing of 2 Israeli soldiers near “Bargha” settlement.
  • At 19:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Nablus city and Assirah Al-Shimaliya after the alleged attempted stabbing of 2 Israeli soldiers near “Bargha” settlement until 00:30.
  • At 19:30, Israeli forces set up 7 checkpoints at Yassid, Beit Imrin, Burin , Iraq Burin, Madma , Assira Al-Qibliya village junctions and Shave Shamron settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 08:00, Israeli forces raided Khirbeit Tana located in east Beit Furiq and demolished several livestock sheds and a local school made of several tents then withdrew at 09:30.
  • At 12:40, Israeli forces raided Sabustiya village as they escorted a group of Israeli settlers who stormed archaeological sites in the village then withdrew at 13:45.
  • At 20:00, Israeli forces raided Burin and Iraq Burin villages, during which they clashed with several residents as they stormed several homes and detained 6 residents including a National Security Force officer.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 6 residents: Nael Dh’shat Qaddus {A National Security force officer}, Mailik Fathi Qaddus, Sa’ed A’hed Fuqiya Qaddus, Islam Nasser Musa Assous , Layth Omar Qaddu and Hassan Khaled Al-Qadi.
Attack
  • At 16:30, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Jabal Ak-Aqda area located in south beast Beit Furiq fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Settlers Violence
  • At 15:35, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military forces stormed agricultural land in Qusra village and chopped off several Olive tree limbs.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  • At 19:30, Israeli forces closed at Za’tara checkpoint after the alleged attempted stabbing of 2 Israeli soldiers near “Bargha” settlement and impeded the free flow of traffic until 00:30.
Raid
  • At 03:45, Israeli forces raided Kafil Harris, temporarily detained 2 residents: Hazim Bassam Bawziya and Hamza Marwan Bawziya and released them at a later time then withdrew at 04:30.
Temporary Detention

At 11:55, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint temporarily detained Ihsan Azzam Abdel Al-Jabar Al-Kharaz {A National Security Force Officer} then released him at 17:30.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 20:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along road (90) near Al-Nu’meh village junction located at the North entrance of Jericho and impede the free flow of traffic for the alleged fir bombing along the road then withdrew at 22:00.
(ii) At 21:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the Dead Sea junction then searched residents and vehicles until 22:10.

Raid

At 00:15, Israeli forces raided Jericho city until 02:55.

Detention

(i) At 09:30, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Hamra checkpoint detained Alaa Yusef Abdel-Qadder Shabrawi (A resident of Nur Al-Shams camp in Tulkarem).
(ii) At 22:00, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Hamra detained Muwafaq Rajeh Abdel-Wahab Anu Al-Hassan (A resident of Al-Yamoun town in Jenin).
(iii) At 07:00, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Oja village detained the child Hidaya Ibrahim Suliman Arinat (15 years old) for allegedly attempting to stab a Israeli Police officer {As alleged by the Israeli Military}.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(iii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iv) At 14:50 on November 28th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Um Al-Raqaba area located in Al-Khader with cement blocks.
(v) At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with earth mounds.
(vi) On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the steel gate entrance leading to Um Al-Rakaba area located in Al-Khader.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 14:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Beit Fajjar, temporarily detained Mohammad Ali Al-Haj Hussien Taqatqa then searched residents and vehicles until 17:00.
(ii) At 16:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Nihalin village, temporarily detained the child Yusef Ali Yusef Abu Ghayada (17 years old) then released him at 17:20.

Raid

(i) At 04:00 on March 2nd 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Jub’a village and detained a resident.
(ii) At 14:45, Israeli forces raided Al-Obidiya until 14:55.
(iii) At 16:10, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader until 16:20.
(iv) At 00:35, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem and stormed 2 homes.
(v) At 00:50, Israeli forces raided Hussan village, stormed several homes then withdrew at 02:00.

Attack

At 14:05, Israeli forces positioned near Ayda camp in North Bethlehem fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

(i) At 19:00, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Awwad Musa Awwad {A resident of Jabal Handaza in Bethlehem} as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Mohammad Naji Mahmoud Masha’lah in Al-Jub’a village.
