WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure

(i) On June 8th 2016, The Israeli army intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint

Military Checkpoints

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

Flying Checkpoints

At 20:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hizma town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 04:15 on June 8th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya town and detained a resident.
(ii) At 02:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya and Abu Dis towns.
(iii) At 03:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram town.

Attack

(i) At 23:30, Israeli forces positioned near the entrances of Anata and Hizma towns launched stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
(ii) At 00:15, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Qalandiya checkpoint opened fire, launched stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

(i) At 04:20 on June 8th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at Shu’fat checkpoint in Jerusalem city detained Majd Ismail Kiyalah {A resident of Shu’fat camp}.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Nour Taha Othman in Al-Eizariya town.

Settlers Violence

At 23:00, a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Jaba’ roundabout stoned residents and vehicles.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 13:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) Since 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement block.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 23:25, Israeli forces set up 3 checkpoints at the entrances of Al-Nabi Saleh, Deir Nathim and Deir Abu Mash’aal villages then searched residents and vehicles until 01:00.
(ii) At 23:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah town bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 01:00.

Raid

(i) At 03:45 on June 8th 2016, Israeli forces raided Ni’lin town and detained a resident.
(ii) At 23:50, Israeli forces raided Jifna village.
(iii) At 05:00, Israeli forces raided Abboud town then stormed and searched a home.

Detention

(i) At 03:30 on June 8th 2016, Israeli forces detained Mahdi Yusef Taha Al-Barghouthi during their raid into Deir Abu Mash’al village in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.
(ii) At 04:10 on June 8th 2016, Israeli forces detained 2 residents Mohammad Daud Al-Liftawi and Mahdi Maher Darwish in Beit Illu village.
(iii) Israeli forces detained Mohammad Khalil Sarour in Ni’lin town.

JENIN

Closure

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.

Flying Checkpoints

At 22:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Rumana village then searched residents and vehicles until 23:50.

Land Levelling

At 10:45, Israeli forces levelled a plot of land near Al-Jalamah checkpoint located along the Green line in North Jenin city.

Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue to close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of main Roads

Since 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with cement blocks.

Raid

At 22:50, Israeli forces raided Al-Aqaba village until 03:35.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continued to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

At 13:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along Al-Kafriyat road which connects Tulkarem and Qalqiliya districts then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 02:45, Israeli forces raided Sayda village, clashed with several residents then stormed and searched 2 homes and detained a resident.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Mohammad Raslan Ajjaj in Sayda village.

QALQILIYA

Closure of main Roads
Attack

(i) At 12:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Habalah tunnel located at the south entrance of Qalqiliya city then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 13:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Azzun town bridge located along the main road connecting Qalqiliya and Tulkarem then searched residents and vehicles.
(iii) At 13:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Qalqiliya city then searched residents and vehicles.
(iv) At 14:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area located between Azzun and Kafr Thulth towns then searched residents and vehicles.
(v) At 15:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Kafr Thulth and Sinariya village then searched residents and vehicles.
(vi) At 18:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun town then searched residents and vehicles.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
(iv) At 18:45 on June 6th 2016, Israeli forces closed off the main road connecting Awarta and Odala villages with dirt mounds.

Military Checkpoints

At 23:20, Israeli forces closed Huwara checkpoint and impede the free flow of traffic until reopening it at a later time.

Flying Checkpoints

At 17:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Einbus village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 02:20, Israeli forces raided Beita town, detained a resident then withdrew at 03:30.

Detention

(i) At 01:00, Israeli forces positioned at Huwara checkpoint detained Mahmoud Issa Abdel-Ra’uf Hamamah (A resident of Nablus city).
(ii) Israeli forces detained Bashar Abdallah Awad Adeli in Beita town

Confiscation of Property

At 17:30, Israeli forces stormed the south area of Qusra village, confiscated a truck owned by Shadi Thiyab Awad for doing construction work in area C which is under Israeli Military and Administrative control during which the clashed with several residents who attempted to prevent them from confiscating the truck and as a result injured the child Ahmad Awadallah (17 years old).

Injuries

Israeli forces injured the child Ahmad Awadallah (17 years old).

Settlers Violence

At 09:50, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Duma village junction stoned a Palestinian Presidential Guard vehicle and as a result damaged a vehicle.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

(i) At 10:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Harris village then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 23:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Zawiya town then searched residents and vehicles.

Detention

At 10:40, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint junction detained Mohammad Sati Jawdat Hamdallah {A National Security Force Officer}(A resident of Tubas city).

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District and imped the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

At 23:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho city then searched residents and vehicles until 01:15.

Temporary Detention

At 11:30, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Humra checkpoint detained Sanad Jawdat Rasheed Bani Odeh (A resident of Tubas city) then released him at 14:00.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.

Flying Checkpoints

At 08:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Jinata town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 22:30, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem city, detained 2 residents including a National Security force officer then withdrew at 03:20.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Mahmoud Ahmad Al-Balboul {A National Security Force Officer} and Mohammad Ahmad Al-Balboul.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

(iv) At 04:30, Israeli forces raided Surif town and detained a resident.

(i) At 02:25 on June 8th 2016, Israeli forces detained Eliyan Fawaz Al-Rajabi during their raid into Hebron city as mentioned in the previous report.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Sharaf Atiyeh Zahada during their Sinjir area located in between Hebron city and Dura town.
(iii) Israeli forces detained Mohammad Ibrahim Makhamrah in Yatta town.
(iv) Israeli forces detained Murad Sa’di Al-Qawasmah in Hebron city.
(v) Israeli forces detained Iz Al-Din Ghalab Al-Huwar in Surif town.

(i) At 23:30, Israeli forces positioned near the entrances of Anata and Hizma towns launched stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Detention

At 07:30, Israeli forces positioned at Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing detained Ayatallah Ali Abdel-Kareem Sarhan {A merchant} (A resident of Jabaliya camp.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed.
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed.
(iv) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry Humanitarian assistance.

Raid

On the afternoon of June 8th 2016, Israeli forces escorting Military bulldozers stormed 100m into the vicinity of Sufa crossing point located in North east Rafah city and then opened fire and launched smoke grenades towards agricultural land as the levelled a plot of land.
