WEST BANK

ALL DISTRICTS

Demonstrations

• On January 3rd 2018,Mass rallies were launched in all cities and towns in all districts, rejecting the decision of the American president to declare Jerusalem as the "capital of the occupying state" and the transfer of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to occupied Jerusalem. The participants in the marches stressed that the decision will not change the situation Which is protected by international resolutions and laws as an occupied Palestinian city, and that Jerusalem is the capital of the Palestinian people and its independent state.

JERUSALEM

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Al-Eisawiya village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 12:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya town and clashed with several residents.
2. At 20:15, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis town and clashed with several residents.

Detention

At 06:00 on January 3rd 2018, Israeli forces detained Hamoudah Sher Abu Sineneh in the old city of Jerusalem.

Attack

1. At 12:30, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Al-Eizariya town.
2. At 20:15, Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Abu Dis town.
3. At 21:55, Israeli forces positioned in Ras Al-Amoud neighborhood in Jerusalem city Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Temporary Detention

On the evening of January 3rd 2018, Israeli Authorities sentenced Ashraf Musa Atwan Al-Salamiya {A resident of Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city} to home imprisonment and fined him 30000 NIS, prevented him from contacting Palestinian detainees in Prison as a term for his release from Israeli prison.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 09:00, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers as they performed Talmudic rituals.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Flying Checkpoints

1.At 09:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Ni'lin town then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 16:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Turmus'aya town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At dawn on January 3rd 2018, Israeli forces raided Al-Nabi Saleh village and detained a child.
2. At dawn on January 3rd 2018, Israeli forces raided Kafr Ni'meh village and detained a resident.
3. At 13:20 on January 3rd 2018, Israeli forces raided Deir Nathim village , clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes and as a result killed a child and injured 3 others then detained a special need patient.
4. At 01:35 on January 4th 2018, Israeli forces raided Deir Qaddis village .

Detention

1. At 19:20, Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint in Ramallah district detained Omar Burhan Abdallah Darwish {A Palestinian Intelligence officer}{A resident of Kafr Dan village in Jenin District}.
2. Israeli forces detained Abdel-Karim Salah Dar Ayoub {17 years old} in Al-Nabi Saleh village.
3. Israeli forces detained Samer Rabah Mustafa Al-Sayis in Kafr Ni'meh village.
4. Israeli forces detained Moayad Al-Tamimi{A special need patiant} in Deir Nitham village.

Attack

1. At 13:20, Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched several homes and as s result killed a child and injured 3 others.
2. At 14:25, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Mahkama Military checkpoint located near Bet El settlement in North Al-Bireh city fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.
3. At 14:40, Israeli forces positioned near Beit Sira village fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning
4. At 20:05, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Deir Nitham village fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Killings

Israeli forces killed the child Mus'ab Firas Al-Tamimi {17 years old} during clashes in Deir Nitham village.

Injuries

Israeli forces injured 3 unidentified residents during clashes in Deir Nitham village.

JENIN

Flying Checkpoints

At 11:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Araba town junction then searched residents and vehicles until 11:55.

Raid

1. At 04:40, Israeli forces raided Um Al-Tut village and summoned Ala Abdel-Raziq Sa'id Zakarna to report to Israeli Intellegnce for questioning.
2. At dawn on January 4th 2018, Israeli forces raided Saris village and detained 2 residents.
3. At dawn on January 4th 2018, Israeli forces raided Al-Zababdah and Maythaloun towns.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 2 residents :Taher Fawzi Qatit and Osama Iz Al-Din Nijim in Siris village.

Confiscation of Property

At dawn on January 3rd 2018, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Jalama Boarder crossing located along the Green Line in North east Jenin city confiscated 5 caravans used as shops owned by the flowing: Faiz Shaaban, Majed Nassar, residents of Jalameh village and Murad Jaramna al-Badawi, residents of Beit Qad village.

TUBAS

Raid

At 23:50, Israeli forces raided Ein Al-Bayda village in the north Jordan valley.

TULKAREM

Raid

At 13:20, Israeli forces raided Zaeita town until 15:45.

QALQILIYA

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 08:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Al-Fanduq and Hajja villages then searched residents and vehicles.
2.At 18:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 24:00, Israeli forces raided Azzun town.

Attack

At 14:40, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Munthar area located near Jalqamus town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

NABLUS

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 12:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Assira town then searched residents and vehicles until 13:00.
2. At 13:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Deir Sharaf village junction {located along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem districts} then searched residents and vehicles until 14:00.

Raid

At 02:20, Israeli forces raided Salem village and detained 3 residents.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Rabi 'Abdul Karim Issa, Nawras Fakhruddin Hamdan and Jalal Fahmi Hamdan in Salem village.

Attack

At 17:20, Israeli forces positioned in east Salem village fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.

SALFIT

Military Checkpoints

At 14:55, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za'tara junction checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 16:00.

Raid

At 13:00, Israeli forces raided Kafr Al-Dik town until 15:45.

BETHLEHEM

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 12:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Um Salmuna village then searched residents and vehicles until 13:30.
2. At 20:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Aqbat Hasna area near the entrance of Husan village then searched residents and vehicles until 21:00.

Raid

At 07:20, Israeli forces raided Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem city , clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes and as a result injured 10 residents {including 2 critical injured}, detained a resident the withdrew at 08:00.

Detention

1. At 14:40, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Nafaq Military checkpoint located in east Beit Jalla city detained Mohammed Elias Ahmed Sarana {Residents of Bethlehem}.
2. At 19:20, Israeli forces positioned at Container Military checkpoint detained Mohammed Walid Bani Ghra - Residents of Jenin Camp.
3. Israeli forces detained Ma'ali Issa Ma'ali in Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem city.

Attack

At 07:20, Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched several homes during their raid into Al-Duhisheh camp and as a result injured 10 residents {including 2 critically injured}.

Injuries

Israeli forces injured 10 residents {of those identified are}: the child Hamad Mezher {a schoolboy} (seriously injured in the spine) and Jihad al-Atrash (seriously injured) during clashes in Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem city.

HEBRON

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 08:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Fuwar camp then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 08:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Hawawir area {located at the North entrance of Halhul town then searched residents and vehicles.
3. At 17:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Einun village then searched residents and vehicles.
4. At 18:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Wadi Al-Juz area {located at the entrance of Bani Na'im town} then searched residents and vehicles.
5. At 18:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Arub camp then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At dawn on January 4th 2018, Israeli forces raided Al-Arub camp and detained a child.
2. At dawn on January 4th 2018, Israeli forces raided Yatta town and Hadb Al-Fuwar village then stormed and searched several homes.

Detention

1. At 16:15, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Ibrahimi mosque compound in the old city of Hebron detained Ahmad Ishaq Ahmad Al-Muhtasib.
2. Israeli forces detained Mohammad Midhat Ayoub {17 years old} in Al-Aroub camp.

Closure of main Roads

At 13:50, the Israeli Military closed the North entrance of Palestine poly-technical college located near Al-Arub camp with barbed wires.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the seaport and airports and on May 4th 2017, Israeli authorities increased the fishing limit to 9 nautical miles from Wadi Gaza until the south border of the Gaza stripe and on June 26th 2017 Israeli forces decreased the fishing limit back to 6 nautical miles and on October 17th 2017, Israeli forces increased the fishing limit back to 9 nautical miles and on December 12th 2017 reduced fishing area from 9 nautical miles to 6 nautical miles south of Wadi Gaza and opposite to Rafah.

•The Israeli Military broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Central Gaza and Khan Yunis districts and as a result injured a resident.
Israeli Military aircraft broke the ceasefire agreement by launching missiles towards Rafah District.
Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by openeing fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza district.
• Palestinian gunmen broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire and launching 4 projectiles towards the Green Line.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing is partially open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

At 19:30 on January 3rd 2018, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya town.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
* Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack

At 09:45 and at 12:20 on January 3rd 2018, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Maghazi camp.

Palestinian Attacks

At 17:40 on January 3rd 2018, Palestinian gunmen launched projectiles towards the Green Line.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

At 12:00 on January 3rd 2018, Israeli forces opened fire, launched stun and tear gas canisters towards several demonstrators in east Khuz'a town and as a result injured a resident.

Injuries

Israeli forces injured Mohammad Jamal Jum'a Al-Najjar during clashes in east Khuz'a town.

Palestinian Attacks

1. At 13:50 on January 3rd 2018, Palestinian Gunmen launched projectiles towards the Green Line.
2. At 14:05 on January 3rd 2018, Palestinian Gunmen opened fire and launched projectiles towards the Green Line.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

* Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
* Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed {with the exception of the entry of several fuel trucks}..
* Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is partially open for the entry of goods, fuel, construction material for the private sector and internationally funded projects.

Air Strike

1. At 00:45 on January 4th 2018, Israeli Military air crafts launched 4 missiles towards agricultural land in east Al-Shuqat town located in east Rafah city.
2.At 00:55 on January 4th 2017, Israeli Military air crafts launched 4 missiles towards an open area near Sufa crossing point located in east Rafah city.

Palestinian Attacks

At 15:20 on January 3rd 2018, Palestinian gunmen opened fire towards the Green Line.
