WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On January 30th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 16:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Qalandiya village then searched residents and vehicles.
Attack
  • On the evening of January 30th 2016, Israeli forces positioned in the old city of Jerusalem fired live ammunition, stun and tear gas grenades towards  several residents for alleged stoning after Israeli forces closed 2 main entrance gates leading to Al-Aqsa mosque compound for the alleged stabbing of a Israeli settler.
Detention
  • On January 30th 2016, Israeli forces detained Ahmad Hani Zuhdi {A resident of Al-Ram}{A University student}.
  • On the evening of January 30th 2016, Israeli forces detained the child Mohammad Taysir Taha (A resident of Shu’fat camp) for the alleged stabbing of a Israeli settler {As alleged by the Israeli Military}.
Settlers Violence
  • At 18:00, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near Bab Al-Amoud gate in the old city of Jerusalem assaulted several residents  during which Israeli forces fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents who attempted to prevent the settler attack.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.
  • On January 27th 2016, Israeli forces closed Beit Ur Al-Tahta village junction which leads to road (443) with cement blocks.
  • At 11:30 on January 28th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road located between Deir Ibzi’ and “Doliv” settlement with cement blocks.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 11:00 and again at 22:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nabi Saleh village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 17:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah bridge then searched residents and vehicles.

JENIN

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
  • Since the evening of November 25th 2012, Israeli forces closed the western entrance of Ya’bad.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 13:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Araba junction, detained 2 residents then withdrew at 17:00.
  • At 20:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Qad village then searched residents and vehicles until 21:00.
Raid
  • At 16:15, Israeli forces raided Ya’bad, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 17:00.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Anis Mahmoud Issa (A resident of Jenin) and Yusef Husni Abu Jaloush (A resident of Araba) near Araba junction.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • At 15:55, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 19:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Allar junction then searched residents and vehicles until 21:00.
Detention
  • On the morning of January 30th 2016, Israeli forces detained  Abdel-Hafith Mustafa Jaber (A resident of Baqa Al-Sharqiya).

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 16:55 on December 18th 2014, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with dirt mounds
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate
Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

Flying Checkpoints

At 18:50, Israeli forces set up 2 checkpoints at the entrance of Azzun and Immatin village then searched residents and vehicles.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(iii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iv) On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
(v) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
(vi) At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 09:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Yatma village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 11:50.
(ii) At 23:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Duma Village Bridge then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 21:35, Israeli forces raided Duma village and fired stun grenades towards a merchant shop for alleged stoning from the area.

Assaults on Property

At 12:00, Israeli forces prevented several residents from accessing their agricultural land located along the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village and forcibly removed them after ordering them to obtain a security clearance in order to access their land on January 31st 2016.

Settlers Violence

At 15:30, a group of Israeli settlers from “Yitsahar” settlement stormed a public park located in east Huwara and assaulted several residents who were in the area during which local residents were able to chase away the settlers from the area.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) On 15.04.2012, the Israeli army has opened the northern entrance to Salfit city to civilian which was closed since the year 2000 and prevented access from 08:00 until 09:20.
(iii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Closure of Checkpoints

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

At 18:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near the entrance of Qarwat Bani Hassan then searched residents and vehicles until 19:55.

Raid

(i) At 14:20, Israeli forces raided Al-Janayin area in Yasuf village until 15:30.
(ii) At 01:05, Israeli forces raided Deir Istiya village, stormed several homes then withdrew at 01:55.

JERICHO

Closure of Checkpoints

: Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

At 16:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 01:05, Israeli forces raided Jericho then withdrew at 02:10.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
(iii) Since August 2nd 2012, Israeli forces closed a road leading to Beit Jalla.
(iv) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(v) Since June 3rd 2013, the Israeli army closed the road connecting Nihalin and road 60 with dirt mounds.
(vi) Since 13:20 on September 29th 2013, the Israeli army closed a road leading to 50 acres of agricultural land in Wadi Salem area in Al-Khadr with dirt mounds.
(vii) Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Surif and Al-Jub’a village with dirt mounds.
(viii) On January 28th 2014, Israeli forces closed the steel gate at the entrance of Nihalin { replacing the dirt mounds placed at the entrance since the year 2002} and placed time schedule for opening the gate from 06:00 until 14:00 on a daily bases.
(ix) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(x) At 15:30 on November 20th 2015, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Jinata and the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
(xi) At 13:10 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
(xii) At 18:00 on November 27th 2015, Israeli forces closed Bararat junction located in Ras area in Beit Jallah with cement blocks.
(xiii) At 14:50 on November 28th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Um Al-Raqaba area located in Al-Khader with cement blocks.
(xiv) At 13:45 on January 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Nihalin village with a steel gate.
(xv) At 20:00 on January 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Jinata with earth mounds.

Raid

(i) At dawn on January 30th 2016, Israeli forces raided Za’tara and summoned Malik Mohammad Ibrahim Sha’ayra to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
(ii) At 15:50, Israeli forces raided Beit Jallah.
(iii) At 02:55, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem and detained a resident.
(iv) At dawn on January 31st 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Jab’a village and detained a resident.

Attack

At 18:30, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Khader fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained Muhyi Mohammad Hameed Suman in Bethlehem.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Mohammad Taha Abu Latifah in Al-Ju’bah village.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Al-Karmil villages.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
(iv) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.
(v) At 05:50 on November 5th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance leading Farsh Al-Hawa area in Hebron with Cement blocks.
(vi) At 10:30 on November 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the junction located near “Hagi” settlement located in south Hebron with cement blocks.
(vii) At 21:00 on November 11th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Beit Awwa and Al-Majd village with cement block and dirt mounds.
(viii) On December 9th 2015, Israeli forces closed a road near Jabal Jallis area located in the old city of Hebron and closed the bypass road.

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Halhlou Bridge then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 23:20, Israeli forces raided Beit Awwa.
(ii) At 04:00, Israeli forces raided Hebron, stormed several homes, detained 3 residents including a journalist and summoned Ahmad Al-Awawi to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
(iii) At dawn on January 31st 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Aroub camp and detained 2 residents after storming their homes.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Mahmoud Fathi Al-Qawasmeh, Salah Issa Al-Muhtasib and Abdel- Hafith Adnan Al-Muhtasib in Hebron city.
(ii) Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Baha Jihad Abdel-Ghaffer Al-Hamouz and Mohammad Abdel-Raziq Abu Sal in Al-Aroub camp.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
• Israeli forces broke the cease-fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards North Gaza, Khan Yunis and Rafah.
• Israeli Naval Vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Attack

(i) At 10:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Beit Hanoun.
(ii) At 10:00, Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

• Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
• Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

(i) At 08:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents and farmers in east Al-Fakhari.
(ii) At 09:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents in east Khaz’aa.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
(iv) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is closed.

Attack

At 10:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents positioned in the vicinity of Sufa Crossing located in North east Rafah city.
