WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure

(i) On January 27th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound, which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

Closure of Checkpoints

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

Flying Checkpoints

At 15:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Anata then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At dawn on January 27th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya and detained a resident after storming and searching his home.
(ii) At dawn on January 28th 2016, Israeli forces raided Kafr Aqab village and detained two residents including a PLC member.
(iii) At dawn on January 28th 2016, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis and clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched the home of Mohammad Nabeel Halabiya {who was killed by Israeli forces}.
(iv) At dawn on January 28th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Eisawiya village and detained two residents.

Detention

(i) On January 25th 2016, Israeli forces detained two residents: Ali Sabri Abu Diyab and Ahmad Sabri Abu Diyab in Silwan neighbourhood.
(ii) At 12:25, Israeli forces detained three residents including a child: Mohammad Waleed Al-Arna’ot (17 years old), Mahmoud Waleed Al-Arna’ot and Abed Abu Sneineh.
(iii) At 17:10, Israeli forces positioned at Qalandiya checkpoint detained the child Ibrahim Abdel-Rahman Kamal Khalil (16 years old) {A resident of Nablus} for allegedly attempting to stab an Israeli soldier {as alleged by the Israeli Military}.
(iv) At 17:30, Israeli forces detained two residents: Fadi Mut’ib and Nour Al-Zaghal after assaulting them near Ras Al-Amoud neighbourhood.
(v) At 23:45, Israeli forces positioned near “Givat Zaiv” settlement located near Al-Jib village detained Obada Azziz Abu Ras (A resident of Bir Nabalah) for allegedly attempting to stab a Israeli settler {As alleged by the Israeli Military}.
(vi) Israeli forces detained Tariq Mohammad Khalil in Al-Eizariya.
(vii) Israeli forces detained two residents: Mohammad Abu Teir (A PLC member) and Mohammad Al-Disi in Kafr Aqab.
(viii) Israeli forces detained Shadi Atiyah and Mahmoud Nassar in Al-Eisawiya village.

Attack

At 16:00, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Ram junction fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Assault on medical sector

At 23:20, Israeli forces stormed Al-Makkassid hospital in Jerusalem and interrogated the mother of the child: Linda Ribhi Shibat {A resident of the Gaza Strip} after her son went missing after she arrived on the afternoon of January 27th 2016 to Qad hospital in the Gaza Strip.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 09:30, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.
(iii) At 19:35 on January 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Shuqba village with earth mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 17:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah Village Bridge and impeded the free flow of traffic.
(ii) At 17:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near the entrance of Al-Nabi Saleh village and impeded the free flow of traffic until 19:55.

Raid

(i) At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Sira village and detained two residents then withdrew at 02:30.
(ii) At 01:55, Israeli forces raided Bir Ziet, stormed and searched several homes, temporarily detained the child: Muhanad Najeeb Al-Shiekh (17 years old) then released him after questioning then withdrew at 06:25.
(iii) At 03:35, Israeli forces raided Kafr Ni’meh village until 03:50.

Detention

Israeli forces detained two residents: Mohammad Rashid Hamdan and Rashid Mohammad Rashid Hamdan.

JENIN

Closure

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
(ii) Since the evening of November 25th 2012, Israeli forces closed the western entrance of Ya’bad.

Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 16:55 on December 18th 2014, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with dirt mounds
(iv) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate

Flying Checkpoints

At 13:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Jit village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 14:30.

Raid

At 01:10, Israeli forces raided Qalqiliya, stormed a home and fired tear gas grenades towards a home then withdrew at 01:30.

Temporary Detention

At 17:30, Israeli forces temporarily detained two residents: Nizar Kamal Aqel and Aqel Ramzi Kamal Aqel {as they were herding their sheep} then released them at 19:00.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya, the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
(iv) At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 11:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Deir Sharaf village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 11:45.
(ii) At 17:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Beit Furiq junction then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 09:30, Israeli forces raided Burqa village until 11:15.
(ii) At 02:10, Israeli forces raided Tel village, stormed several homes, detained a resident and summoned Mohammad Mustafa Assaydeh to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 03:30.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Mohammad Diyah Odeh in Tel village.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) On 15.04.2012, the Israeli army has opened the northern entrance to Salfit city to civilian, which was closed since the year 2000 and prevented access from 08:00 until 09:20.
(iii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Closure of Checkpoints

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 12:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Bruqin and Kafr Al-Dik then searched residents and vehicles until 14:30.
(ii) At 13:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Bruqin then searched residents and vehicles.
(iii) At 19:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Deir Istiya then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 17:25, Israeli forces raided Deir Istiya until 17:50.

Detention

At 09:20, Israeli forces positioned near “Emanuel” settlement detained Mahmoud Ghazi Barah {A resident of Kafdr Qaddum village} and Ehab Al-Sadah {A resident of Jit village}.

JERICHO

Closure of Checkpoints

Israeli forces intensified its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

At 17:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 02:20 on January 27th 2016, Israeli forces raided Aqbat Al-Jabr camp in Jericho and detained a resident.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Othamn Khalil Ka’abneh in Aqbat Al-Jabr camp in Jericho.

Temporary Detention

At 15:30, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Hamra checkpoint temporarily detained Raed Marzouq Masa’ed, Amin Fayez Ghandour and Ameed Ahmad Teyem then released them at 16:00.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

(i) At 11:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur then searched residents and vehicles until 17:30.
(ii) At 16:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Shuwarat village then searched residents and vehicles.
(iii) At 22:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Marah Rabah village then searched residents and vehicles until 24:00.

Raid

(i) At 17:05, Israeli forces raided Abu Najeem village, stormed and searched a University student Dormitory after damaging several apartment front door entrances.
(ii) At 01:05, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem and Al-Aza camp, stormed and searched several merchant shops then summoned Haytham Mustafa Zaboun (A resident of Al-Aza camp) to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning and confiscated surveillance camera footage from merchant shop then withdrew at 05:25.
(iii) At 01:20, Israeli forces raided Taqou’, detained two residents then withdrew at 05:20.
(iv) At 01:20, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar until 02:30.

Detention

(i) At 10:20, Israeli forces positioned at Container checkpoint detained two residents: Mahmoud Inbrahim Musalim Abu Aishah and Riyad Adnan Abdel-Mu’ti Abu Aayshah after allegedly finding a knife inside their vehicle.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Ibrahim Suliman and Ahmad Abdallah Al-Aroj in Taqou’.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Al-Karmil villages.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
(iv) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.
(v) On December 9th 2015, Israeli forces closed a road near Jabal Jallis area located in the old city of Hebron and closed the bypass road.
(vi) At 18:50 on January 21st 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road leading to Yatta with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nabi Yunis area located along the main road connecting Hebron and Bethlehem then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At dawn on January 27th 2016, Israeli forces raided Deir Sammit village, stormed and searched a home then detained two children.
(ii) At 00:50, Israeli forces raided Yatta and Beit Amrah village, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes including the apartment of Amjad Al-Jindi {who was killed by Israeli forces} after breaking down the front door entrance and then damaged several pieces of furniture and detained 4 residents then summoned 2 residents: Mohammad Talib Harizat and Baha Talib Harizat to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 03:50.
(iii) At 01:50, Israeli forces raided Hebron, stormed a home and summoned Ismail Ghalib Al-Ja’bari to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
(iv) At 02:40, Israeli forces raided Beit Ola.

Detention

(i) On the evening of January 26th 2016, Israeli forces detained Husam Husni Sabri Nasser-AlDin near Al-Ibrahimi mosque in the old city of Hebron.
(ii) Israeli forces detained two children: Odah Abdel-Basset Al-Haroub (12 years old) and Issa Abdel-Basset Al-Haroub (15 years old) in Deir Sammit village.
(iii) Israeli forces detained four residents: Mohammad Rasmi Issa Al-Amour, Ribhi Hassan Id’ies, Jihad Ali Abu Obied and Subhi Hassan Id’eis in Yatta.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
• Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

At 11:30, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya and detained four fishermen including a child and confiscated the fishing boat.

Detention

Israeli forces detained four residents: Tariq Ala Zied Bakr (17 years old), Fahed Ziyad Hussien Bakr, Mohammad Saber Khader Baker and Na’im Fahed Ziyad Baber.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

• Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
• Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
(iv) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA.
