WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On January 26th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall
Raid
  • At dawn on January 26th 2016, Israeli forces raided Qalandiya camp, detained a resident and again at 04:00 on January 27th 2016 raided the camp and took measurement of the family home of Hussein Abu Ghoush {who was killed by Israeli forces } in order to demolish it.
  • At 12:20, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya, detained a resident and confiscated his vehicle
Detention
  • On January 25th 2016, Israeli forces detained Khalil Nasr (A resident of Al-Eisawiya).
  • At 08:00, Israeli forces positioned near Bab Al-Amoud area in the old city of Jerusalem detained the child: Shadi Raed Gharaab (17 years old) {A resident of Al-Thori neighbourhood}.
  • Israeli forces detained Ibrahim Arhil Mohammad Jahalin in Al-Eizariya.
  • Israeli forces detained Ahmad Abdel-Kareem Othman Manasrah in Qalandiya camp.
House Demolition
  • At dawn on January 27th 2016, Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Kafiyah Al-Rashq in Shu’fat camp in Jerusalem for settlement road construction purposes.
  • On the morning of January 27th 2016, Israeli forces demolished a home {under construction} located in Jab al Al-Mukabir neighbourhood which is owned by Ibrahim Ali Sari for allegedly being built without a licence.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 08:30, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  • The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.
  • At 19:35 on January 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Shuqba village with earth mounds.
Flying Checkpoints
  •  At 08:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Ur Al-Foqa village then searched residents and vehicles until 11:00.
  • At 10:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Sira village and prevented residents from entering or exiting the village.
  • At 11:25 and again at 18:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Al-Nabi Saleh village then detained 2 residents including a National Security force officer.
  • At 13:15, Israeli forces set up 6 checkpoints at the entrances of Beit Liqya, Kirbithat Al-Misbah, Beit Ur Al-Tahta, Beit Ur Al-Foqa, Al-Terih and Safa villages then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 13:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Sinjil then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 22:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Khirbithat Al-Misbah and Beit Sira villages then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Ur Al-Tahta and took measurements for the family home of Ibrahim Alaa {who was killed by Israeli forces} in order to prepare it for demolition then withdrew at 05:55.
  • At 02:45, Israeli forces raided Al-Amarai camp in Al-Bireh city and detained a resident then withdrew at 03:30.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Bassam Mattir Yusef Al-Asmar and Fadi Bajjis Al-Asmar {both residents of Beit Rima} near the entrance of Al-Nabi Saleh village.
  • Israeli forces detained Raja’i Ghalib Al-Bas in Al-Amarai camp located in Al-Bireh city.

JENIN

Closure of District
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
  • Since the evening of November 25th 2012, Israeli forces closed the western entrance of Ya’bad.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 09:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Jaba’ village junction during which they clashed with several residents then withdrew at 15:00.
Raid
  • At 04:30, Israeli forces raided Qabatiya, clashed with several residents as they stormed several homes, detained 2 residents and summoned Mohammad Rassim Tawfiq Khazimah to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 05:10.
  • At dawn on January 27th 2016, Israeli forces raided Ya’bad, stormed and searched a home then detained a resident.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Mohammad Ziyad Kamil and Yassir Abu Ma’la in Qabatiya.
  • Israeli forces detained Majd Husni Abu Shamaleh in Ya’bad.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Assaults on Property
  • At 14:00, Israeli forces stormed Ibziq village located in the North Jordan valley area and forcibly removed 11 families from their home in order to conduct military exercises in the area from 14:00 until 21:00 on January 26th 2016.
  • At 15:00, Israeli forces stormed Ras Al Hamra area located in the North Jordan valley area and forcibly removed 10 families from their home in order to conduct military exercises in the area from 15:00 until 24:00 on January 26th 2016.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • At 08:25, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 16:50
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 10:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Shufat and Izbit Shfat villages and impeded the free flow of traffic until 11:40.
  • At 17:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Far’oun village junction then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 18:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along Al-Kafriyat road located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles until 18:20.
Raid
  • At 00:45, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes and “agricultural Green Houses” then withdrew at 05:15.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 16:55 on December 18th 2014, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with dirt mounds
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 10:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Jit village junction, temporarily detained Yazen Ma’en Qashou’ (A resident of Qalqiliya) then released him after assaulting him and withdrew at 12:00.
  • At 20:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Azzun bridge located along the main road connecting Qalqiliya and Tulkarem then searched residents and vehicles until 22:00
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
  • At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 09:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Aqraba and Osirin village then searched residents and vehicles until 11:00.
  • At 10:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Sarah village junction located along the main road connecting Nablus and Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles until 12:45.
  • At 17:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Beit Furiq junction then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 17:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Qabalan and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Raid
  • At 14:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Labban Al-Sharqiya village, stormed and searched several homes then withdrew at 15:30.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • On 15.04.2012, the Israeli army has opened the northern entrance to Salfit city to civilian which was closed since the year 2000 and prevented access from 08:00 until 09:20.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces intensified its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 09:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along road (90) road junction located near Al-Nuw’meh village at the North entrance of Jericho then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 02:20, Israeli forces raided Jericho city, detained a resident after storming his home, confiscated a motorcycle then withdrew at 03:10.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Khalil Abu Namous in Jericho.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  • Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between  Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
  • Since August 2nd 2012, Israeli forces closed a road leading to Beit Jalla.
  • Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  • Since June 3rd 2013, the Israeli army closed the road connecting Nihalin and road 60 with dirt mounds.
  • Since 13:20 on September 29th 2013, the Israeli army closed a road leading to 50 acres of agricultural land in Wadi Salem area in Al-Khadr with dirt mounds.
  •  Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Surif and Al-Jub’a village with dirt mounds.
  • On January 28th 2014, Israeli forces closed the steel gate at the entrance of Nihalin { replacing the dirt mounds placed at the entrance since the year 2002} and placed time schedule for opening the gate from 06:00 until 14:00 on a daily bases.
  • Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
  • At 15:30 on November 20th 2015, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Jinata and the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
  • At 13:10 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
  • At 18:00 on November 27th 2015, Israeli forces closed Bararat junction located in Ras area in Beit Jallah with cement blocks.
  • At 14:50 on November 28th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Um Al-Raqaba area located in Al-Khader with cement blocks.
  • At 13:45 on January 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Nihalin village with a steel gate.
  • At 20:00 on January 18th  2016, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Jinata with earth mounds.
Raid
  • At 11:50, Israeli forces raided south Bethlehem and set up a checkpoint.
Detention
  • At 11:50 on January 25th 2016, Israeli forces detained Ibrahim Abdallah Issa Al-Arouj (A resident of Jinata).

HEBRON

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  • Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Al-Thahiriya and Al-Samoa’ towns, Al-‘Arrub refugee camp, and Al-Tuwani and Al-Karmil villages. 
  • The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
  • The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.
  • At 05:50 on November 5th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance leading Farsh Al-Hawa area in Hebron with Cement blocks.
  • At 10:30 on November 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the junction located near “Hagi” settlement located in south Hebron with cement blocks.
  • At 21:00 on November 11th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Beit Awwa and Al-Majd village with cement block and dirt mounds.
  • At 15:45 on November 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed Al-Samiya village junction located at the west entrance of Al-Samou’ with cement blocks.
  • On November 15th 2015 , Israeli forces closed  the entrances of Khliat Al-Miya and Al Dirat and the 2 bypass roads leading  east Ytta with cement blocks.
  • On November 23rd 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Al-Qom village located in North Beit Awwa with Cement blocks.
  • On December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed a checkpoint located along Al-Shuhada road located in the old city of Hebron and prevented residents from passing through the checkpoint  and redirected traffic through a road near the entrance of Jabal Al-Rahma .
  • On December 9th 2015, Israeli forces closed a road near Jabal Jallis area  located in the  old city of Hebron and closed the bypass road.
  • At 18:50 on January 21st 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road leading to Yatta with dirt mounds.
GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  • Israeli forces broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green line towards North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
Attack
  • At 09:30, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in North east Beit Hanun.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  • Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed.
  • Sufa Crossing is closed.
  • Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA.
