WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure

(i) On January 10th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

Closure of main Roads

• The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
• The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.
• On November 16th 2015, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem, which leads to “Armon Hantsiv” settlement with cement blocks.

Closure of Checkpoints

• Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
• On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu’fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall

Flying Checkpoints

At 04:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Samir Amis area located in North Jerusalem then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 15:45, Israeli forces raided Qutna village, temporarily detained Mu’taz Hushiyeh then released him at 15:55.
(ii) At 16:00, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis.
(iii) At 19:00, Israeli forces raided Jaba’ village and clashed with several residents.
(iv) At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Biddu.
(v) At 03:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Suriq village and detained a resident.

Attack

(i) At 15:15, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Al-Eisawiya village fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
(ii) At 17:30, Israeli forces positioned near the wall gate in Qutna village fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
(iii) At 17:30, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Shu’fat checkpoint fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

(i) At dawn on January 17th 2016, Israeli forces detained Iz Al-Din Hamza Al-Magharbi in Sur Bahar village.
(ii) At 17:30, Israeli forces detained Samir Yusef Faliya (A resident of Qalandiya camp) as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence based on a prior summon.
(iii) At 19:30, Israeli forces detained Hamza Al-Thalji in Shu’fat neighbourhood in Jerusalem.

Assaults on Property

At 17:00, Israeli forces prevented a Cultural festival from taking place in the Palestine National Theater in Jerusalem.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 08:30, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) . On October 3rd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road located near “Bet El” settlement and leading to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks.
(iii) Since November 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main entrance of Sinjil and the east entrance of Al-Mughier village with cement blocks.
(iv) At 18:50 on December 4th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main entrance of Abboud with cement blocks.
(v) On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 11:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Budrous village then searched residents and vehicles until 11:50.
(ii) At 16:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nabi Saleh village then searched residents and vehicles.
(iii) At 03:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah Bridge then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 11:10, Israeli forces raided Kafr Ni’meh village, detained a resident then withdrew at 13:00.
(ii) At 12:30, Israeli forces raided Budrous village, stormed several homes and again at 01:00 set up a checkpoint at its entrance and stormed several homes.
(iii) At 20:40, Israeli forces raided Silwad village, stormed several homes and detained 13 residents before withdrawing at 04:00.
(iv) At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Khitbithat Al-Misbah village and demolished a storage room owned by Hamdi Musa Hayel and demolished a vehicle repair garage owned by Jamal Ahmad Daraj and a stone marble shop owned by Ahmad Hillal Zien Rashid then withdrew at 03:40.

Attack

(i) At 12:20, Israeli forces positioned near the wall gate in Budrous village fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
(ii) At 11:50, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of “Ofar” Military Base/ Prison fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained Rashid Ahmad Abdel-Azziz Obada in Kafr Ni’meh village.
(ii) Israeli forces detained 13 residents: Majd Abdel-Rahman Hamad, Zakariya Adib Hamad, Anwar Manour Hamad, Ibrahim Rowhi Al-Salhi, Ibrahim Ahmad Al-Natour, Nu’man Salah Hamad, Abdel-Aziz Musa Hamad, Ahmad Al-Sarraj, Majd Mohammad Eid, Haytham Mohammad Eid, Assad Mohammad Hammad, Hussien Mohammad Hamad and Abdel-Qadder Yahya Hamad in Silwad.

JENIN

Closure (per District)

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
(ii) Since the evening of November 25th 2012, Israeli forces closed the western entrance of Ya’bad.

Raid

At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Masalmiya village then stormed and searched a home.

Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TULKAREM

Closure of Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

(i) At 14:00, Israeli forces raided Anabta until 14:35.
(ii) At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Bal’a until 04:30.
(iii) At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Allar and detained a University Student

Detention

Israeli forces detained Obada Murad Shadeed in Allar.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 16:55 on December 18th 2014, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with dirt mounds
(iv) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 14:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 16:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of east Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles until 17:30.
(iii) At 18:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Jit village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 21:40.

Raid

At 07:00, Israeli forces raided the eastern area of Jinsafut village, demolished a live stock den owned by Abdel-Fattah Bashir during which they clashed with several residents and as a result injured 2 residents: Abdel-Fattah Bashir and Rasheed Bashir and also detained a resident.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Murshid Abdel-Fattah Bashir in Jinsafut village,

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

: Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(iii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iv) On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
(v) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.

Closure of Checkpoints

At 13:45 and again at 20:35, Israeli forces closed Huwarah checkpoint {after opening fire towards and killing a resident for allegedly attempting to stab an Israeli soldier} (As alleged by the Israeli Military) and impeded the free flow of traffic until 23:15.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 09:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at “Yitsahar” settlement junction located in North Huwara then searched residents and vehicles until 11:00.
(ii) At 09:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Deir Sharaf village junction located along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem then searched residents and vehicles until 14:15.
(iii) At 16:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Beit Furiq junction then searched residents and vehicles.
(iv) At 17:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Beita junction and impeded the free flow of traffic.
(v) At 19:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at “Yitsahar” settlement junction located in North Huwara and prevented vehicles from passing along the main road leading to Jit village junction in Qalqiliya

Raid

At 00:30, Israeli forces raided Nablus, detained a resident after blasting open the front entrance of his home as they stormed and searched it.

Detention

(i) On January 14th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at Huwara checkpoint detained Mujahid Ribhi Ahmad Jarrab (A resident of Attil in Tulkarem).
(ii) Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Al-Tabouq in Nablus.

Killings

At 13:45, Wissam Marwan Qasrawi (21 years old){A resident of Masaliya village in Jenin} was killed after Israeli forces opened fire towards him for allegedly attempting to stab a Israeli soldier (As alleged by the Israeli Military).

Attack

At 16:05, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Qantira area located near Beit Furiq fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured 2 residents.

Settlers Violence

(i) At 20:30, a group of Israeli settlers positioned at Huwara checkpoint stoned residents and vehicles passing through the checkpoint.
(ii) At 21:40, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near “Shav Shomron” settlement stoned residents and vehicles then withdrew at 22:15.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) On 15.04.2012, the Israeli army has opened the northern entrance to Salfit city to civilian which was closed since the year 2000 and prevented access from 08:00 until 09:20.
(iii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Closure of Checkpoints

At 13:45, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic, detained a resident and at 17:45 closed the checkpoint after a group of Israeli settlers stormed the area then reopened it at a later time.

Raid

(i) At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Kafr Al-Dik, stormed a home, detained a resident then withdrew at 04:25.
(ii) At 02:25, Israeli forces raided Harris village, stormed a home then withdrew at 04:25.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint junction detained Fo’ad Nidal Hijazi (A resident of Al-Sawiya village in Nablus).
(ii) Israeli forces detained Tariq Amjad Adnan Hamidan in Kafr Al-Dik.

JERICHO

Closure of Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 10:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along road (90) near Al-Nuw’meh village located at the North entrance of Jericho then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 19:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Al-Oja village then searched residents and vehicles until 20:00.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
(iii) Since August 2nd 2012, Israeli forces closed a road leading to Beit Jalla.
(iv) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(v) Since June 3rd 2013, the Israeli army closed the road connecting Nihalin and road 60 with dirt mounds.
(vi) Since 13:20 on September 29th 2013, the Israeli army closed a road leading to 50 acres of agricultural land in Wadi Salem area in Al-Khadr with dirt mounds.
(vii) Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Surif and Al-Jub’a village with dirt mounds.
(viii) On January 28th 2014, Israeli forces closed the steel gate at the entrance of Nihalin { replacing the dirt mounds placed at the entrance since the year 2002} and placed time schedule for opening the gate from 06:00 until 14:00 on a daily bases.
(ix) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(x) At 15:30 on November 20th 2015, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Jinata and the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
(xi) At 13:10 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
(xii) At 14:50 on November 28th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Um Al-Raqaba area located in Al-Khader with cement blocks.

Flying Checkpoints

At 12:55, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Container checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 16:40.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Moath Mahmoud Amour Al-Shiekh in Marah Rabah village.

Temporary Detention

At 10:10, Israeli forces positioned near “Kafr Itsiyon” settlement temporarily detained Ismail Daoud Nabaheen (A National Security Force Officer) {a resident of Bethlehem} then released him at 15:00.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances Al-Karmil villages.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
(iv) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.
(v) At 05:50 on November 5th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance leading Farsh Al-Hawa area in Hebron with Cement blocks.
(vi) At 10:30 on November 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the junction located near “Hagi” settlement located in south Hebron with cement blocks.
(vii) At 21:00 on November 11th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Beit Awwa and Al-Majd village with cement block and dirt mounds.
(viii) At 15:45 on November 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed Al-Samiya village junction located at the west entrance of Al-Samou’ with cement blocks.
(ix) On November 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrances of Khliat Al-Miya and Al Dirat and the two bypass roads leading east Ytta with cement blocks.
(x) On November 23rd 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Al-Qom village located in North Beit Awwa with Cement blocks.
(xi) On December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed a checkpoint located along Al-Shuhada road located in the old city of Hebron and prevented residents from passing through the checkpoint and redirected traffic through a road near the entrance of Jabal Al-Rahma.
(xii) On December 9th 2015, Israeli forces closed a road near Jabal Jallis area located in the old city of Hebron and closed the bypass road.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 08:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Bani Na’im then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 19:50 Israeli forces set up 5 checkpoint at along Al-Thahriya road, Al-Fuwar junction, near the road at “Hagi” settlement in south Hebron, Zif village junction and in the area between Yatta and Al-Samou’ {After the alleged stabbing of a Israeli settler near “Atna’el” settlement} then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 03:00 on January 17th 2016, Israeli forces raided Sa’ir, detained 2 residents and again at 00:30 on January 18th 2016 and stormed 2 homes.
(ii) At 19:40, Israeli forces raided Karmat village {after the alleged stabbing of an Israeli settler near “Atna’el” settlement}, stormed several homes and temporally detained several residents and released them later.
(iii) At 20:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Ammrah village and stormed a home.
(iv) At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Hebron, detained a resident then withdrew at 07:20.

Attack

At 20:00, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Aroub camp fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

(i) At 10:00, Israeli forces detained Salamah Suliman Da’ajnah near Al-Fuwar junction.
(ii) At 17:15, Israeli forces positioned near “Kiryat Arba’” settlement located in the east area of the old city of Hebron detained Nivin Muh’sien Faza’ Al-Ja’bari (18 years old) for allegedly finding a knife in her purse.
(iii) Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Mohammad Assad Al-Faroukh and Billal Idris Jarradat in Sa’ir.
(iv) Israeli forces detained Abdel-Fattah Al-Atrash Abu Snieneh in Hebron.

Assaults on Property

At 13:00, Israeli forces stormed Um Faqrat area located near “Afja’al” settlement outpost in south east Yatta and served a military order to halt construction of a Water Well owned by Ahmad Mohammad Makhamrah and also confiscated construction equipment owned by Mohammad Hussien Hamaydah

Settlers Violence

At 19:30, Israeli settlers positioned in Tel Al-Rumayda neighbourhood and in Wadi Al-Nassari area in the old city of Hebron stoned Homes and vehicles.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
• Israeli forces broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards North Gaza, Gaza, Central Gaza and Khan Yunis.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

• Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
• Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

Attack

At 09:30, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several farmers on agricultural land located in east Gaza City.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack

On the evening of January 17th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Mghazi camp.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

At 08:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Fakhari.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
