WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure

(i) On January 12th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.
(iii) On November 16th 2015, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem, which leads to “Armon Hantsiv” settlement with cement blocks.

Closure of Checkpoints

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu’fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

Flying Checkpoints

At 20:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Biddu town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 11:30, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis, stormed a Car rental office owned by Mazen Abu Al-Raed {after tracing a vehicle from the office was used to open fire towards Israeli forces positioned at Al-Container checkpoint}.
(ii) At 17:30, Israeli forces raided AlEisawiya village, clashed with several residents and detained 2 residents.

Attack

(i) At 20:30, Israeli forces positioned in Silwan neighbourhood fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
(ii) At 20:35, Israeli forces positioned in the area between Biddou and Al-Jib village fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

(i) At 10:00, Israeli forces detained Hamoudeh Isam Al-Joulani after storming and searching his home in Jerusalem.
(ii) On January 12th 2016, Israeli forces positioned near Jaba’ checkpoint detained 2 children: Jibril Hamad Sadiq Tuman (17 years old) and Ali Hamad Sadiq Tuman (15 years old).
(iii) Israeli forces detained Mohammad Halsah and Alaa Halsah in Al-Eisawiya.

Temporary Detention

On January 12th 2016, Israeli forces served a military order preventing Hanadi Al-Holani from travelling abroad for a period of 6 months.

House Demolition

At 13:00, Israeli forces stormed Al-Thuri neighbourhood and served a military order for the demolition of a home owned by Musa Mohammad Al-Abbassi for allegedly being built without a licence.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

(i) At 09:00, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
(ii) At 09:00, Israeli Police prevented several employees for Al-Awqaf Ministry {Ministry of Religious Affairs}from conducting rehabilitation and Maintenance work on Al-Aqsa mosque compound and on The Dome of the Rock and then Israeli forces escorted a Israeli Archaeologist as he stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and the Dome of the rock.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) . On October 3rd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road located near “Bet El” settlement and leading to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks.
(iii) Since November 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main entrance of Sinjil and the east entrance of Al-Mughier village with cement blocks.
(iv) At 18:50 on December 4th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main entrance of Abboud with cement blocks.
(v) On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 07:50 on January 12th 2015, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah Bridge and detained a resident as they searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 08:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Sinjil then searched residents and vehicles until 16:25.
(iii) At 14:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Ur Al-Tahta then searched residents and vehicles.
(iv) At 15:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint two checkpoints at the entrances of Al-Nabi Saleh and Deir Nathim villages then searched residents and vehicles.
(v) At 16:45, Israeli forces set up two checkpoints near “Halamish” settlement junction and at the entrance of Beit Illu village then searched residents and vehicles.
(vi) At 17:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Eyoun Al-Haramiya area junction {located along the main road connecting Ramallah and Nablus} then searched residents and vehicles.
(vii) At 21:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Tireh village then fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents a for alleged stoning then withdrew at 22:25.
(viii) At 22:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Ur Al-Tahta village then searched residents and vehicles until 00:30.

Raid

(i) At 11:10, Israeli forces raided Beit Liqya and served a military order for the demolition of several livestock sheds then withdrew at 11:50.
(ii) At 15:20, Israeli forces raided Um Safa village until 15:50.
(iii) At 03:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Jalazoun camp, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes and merchant shops after damaging the entrances using explosive detonation, detained a resident then withdrew at 05:30.
(iv) At 04:45, Israeli forces raided Bir Ziet until 05:40.
(v) At 06:55, Israeli forces raided Al-Bireh city and temporarily detained Khaled Sa’id Al-Najjar then released him at a later time.

Detention

(i) At 18:50, Israeli forces detained three residents including two children: Nasrallah Adel Al-Barghouthi (15 years old), Abdallah Adel Al Barghouthi (16 years old) and Mohammad Bashir Hassan Al-Barghouthi near the entrance of Deir Abu Mashaal.
(ii) Israeli forces positioned near Atarah Bridge detained Safwat Wajeeh Al-Tameemi (A resident of AlNabi Saleh village).
(iii) Israeli forces detained Osama Ibrahim Nakhlah in Al-Jalazoun camp.

JENIN

Closure (per District)

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
(ii) Since the evening of November 25th 2012, Israeli forces closed the western entrance of Ya’bad.

Raid

At 10:50, Israeli forces raided Deir Abu Daif village, stormed a home and confiscated an Agricultural tractor owned by Najeeb Taher Yassin.

Settlers Violence

At 09:30, a group of settlers stormed the area were the settlement “Homish” once stood the withdrew later.

Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Raid

(i) At 11:50, Israeli forces raided Tayassir village confiscated two trucks owned by Maher Nafash as he was working at a water (i) At 11:50, Israeli forces raided Tayassir village confiscated two trucks owned by Maher Nafash as he was working at a water
treatment plant for allegedly dumping solid waste in Area C, which is under Israeli Miliatry and Administrative control.
(ii) At 16:20, Israeli forces raided Atouf village.
(iii) At 02:30, Israeli forces raided Tubas, clashed with several residents and as a result injured Fadi Bashir Daraghmeh then withdrew at 05:30.

TULKAREM

Closure of Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

(i) At 19:55, Israeli forces raided Shwikiya neighbourhood in Tulkarem and opened fire in the area then withdrew at 23:50.
(ii) At 00:25, Israeli forces raided Anabta and Bal’a then served a military order to demolish a home owned by Ziyad Miri {A Palestinian Detainee} then withdrew at 03:25.
(iii) At 01:35, Israeli forces raided Sayda village, stormed a home then withdrew at 03:00.

QALQILIYA

Closure of main Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 16:55 on December 18th 2014, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with dirt mounds
(iv) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate

Flying Checkpoints

At 09:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Jinsafout village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Azzun, stormed and searched 2 homes then withdrew at 03:40.

Settlers Violence

On January 12th 2016, a group of Israeli settlers stormed Al-Nabi Eliyas village and began levelling a plot of land near a religious site in the area.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(iii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iv) On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
(v) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.

Closure of Checkpoints

At 13:40, Israeli forces closed Huwarah checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 15:35.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 13:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Beita village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 13:30.
(ii) At 14:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Deir Sharaf village junction (located along the main road connecting Nablus and Tulkarem) then searched residents and vehicles until 15:50.
(iii) At 17:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Qaballan junction then searched resident and vehicles.
(iv) At 20:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Osarin village, temporarily detained two residents: Nabil Issa Adeli and Abdel-Rahman Sami Joudat and released them later then withdrew at 21:35.

Raid

(i) At 12:20, Israeli forces raided Khirbeit Al-Marjam village located south of Duma village and served military orders for the demolition of six homes owned by Naïf Musa Musalam, Musa Mohammad Musalam, Billal Al-Haj Odeh Faraj, Jamal Al-Taweel, Hisham Mohammad Jadrawi and Mohammad Abdel-Baqi Salawdeh.
(ii) At 13:40, Israeli forces raided Beit Furiq until 01:55.
(iii) At 02:55, Israeli forces raided Balata camp in Nablus until 03:10.

Detention

(i) At 03:25 on January 12th 2016, Israeli forces detained Tamer Nablil Abdel-Rauof Al-Bastami during their raid into Nablus as mentioned in the previous report.
(ii) On January 12th 2016, Israeli forces detained Samah Samer Al-Rimawi (A resident of Nablus) as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.

Destruction of Property

At 05:45, Israeli forces demolished a Plant shop owned by Fahed Odah Saleh (A resident of Al-Sawiya village) located along the main road in Al-Sawiya village.

Settlement Activities

At 12:20, Israeli forces placed a barbed wire fence around a plot of land approximately 15 dunum along a road from Yanoun village junction to Warta village in Nablus.

SALFIT

Closure of Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 08:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along road (90) in An Nuweima village located at the north entrance of Jericho then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 19:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the Dead Sea then searched residents and vehicles.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
(iii) Since August 2nd 2012, Israeli forces closed a road leading to Beit Jalla.
(iv) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(v) Since June 3rd 2013, the Israeli army closed the road connecting Nihalin and road 60 with dirt mounds.
(vi) Since 13:20 on September 29th 2013, the Israeli army closed a road leading to 50 acres of agricultural land in Wadi Salem area in Al-Khadr with dirt mounds.
(vii) Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Surif and Al-Jub’a village with dirt mounds.
(viii) On January 28th 2014, Israeli forces closed the steel gate at the entrance of Nihalin { replacing the dirt mounds placed at the entrance since the year 2002} and placed time schedule for opening the gate from 06:00 until 14:00 on a daily bases.
(ix) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(x) At 15:30 on November 20th 2015, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Jinata and the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
(xi) At 13:10 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
(xii) At 18:00 on November 27th 2015, Israeli forces closed Bararat junction located in Ras area in Beit Jallah with cement blocks.
(xiii) At 14:50 on November 28th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Um Al-Raqaba area located in Al-Khader with cement blocks.

Closure of Checkpoints

At 11:00, Israeli forces closed Al-Container checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic after an alleged drive by shooting towards the checkpoint then reopened it at 11:50.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 12:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Nashash junction located in south Bethlehem then searched residents and vehicles until 12:30.
(ii) At 12:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Jinata then searched residents and vehicles until 12:15.
(iii) At 16:45, Israeli forces set up two checkpoints at the east and west entrances of Husan village then searched residents and vehicles until 17:25.

Raid

(i) At 10:20, Israeli forces raided Beit Jallah, stormed a factory, currency exchange shop and 2 merchant shops, confiscated surveillance camera recorders and again at 13:25 raided the area, clashed with several residents and as a result killed a resident and injured 3 other residents Tariq Ziyad Abdallah (seriously wounded in the chest), Billal Ahmad Mohammad Jabour and Azziz Abu
Sarour and also damaged a vehicle owned by Hani Subhi Thawabteh (A resident of Beit Fajjar) after opening fire towards it.
(ii) At 10:55, Israeli forces raided Al-Obidiya and Dar Salah village, stormed a home, a taxi cab office and several other merchant shops and inspected surveillance camera footage.

Killings

Israeli forces opened fire towards and killed the residents: Sarour Ahmad Ibrahim Sarour (21 years old) {A resident of Ayda camp}.

Attack

(i) At 15:30, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Billal Bin Rabah mosque and Al-Ayda camp located in North Bethlehem fired rubber coated steel bullets, and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured 2 residents including a child: Musa Osama Faraj (16 years old) and Darwish Suliman Amarneih as well as leaving several others including 2 children suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
(ii) At 15:40, Israeli forces positioned near the west entrance of Taqou’ fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Al-Karmil villages.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
(iv) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.
(v) At 05:50 on November 5th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance leading Farsh Al-Hawa area in Hebron with Cement blocks.
(vi) At 10:30 on November 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the junction located near “Hagi” settlement located in south Hebron with cement blocks.
(vii) At 21:00 on November 11th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Beit Awwa and Al-Majd village with cement block and dirt mounds.
(viii) At 15:45 on November 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed Al-Samiya village junction located at the west entrance of Al-Samou’ with cement blocks.
(ix) On November 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrances of Khliat Al-Miya and Al Dirat and the two bypass roads leading east Yatta with cement blocks.
(x) On November 23rd 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Al-Qom village located in North Beit Awwa with Cement blocks.
(xi) On December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed a checkpoint located along Al-Shuhada road located in the old city of Hebron and prevented residents from passing through the checkpoint and redirected traffic through a road near the entrance of Jabal Al-Rahma .
(xii) On December 9th 2015, Israeli forces closed a road near Jabal Jallis area located in the old city of Hebron and closed the bypass road.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 11:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Huwar area located at the North entrance of Halhoul and impeded the free flow of traffic until 12:30.
(ii) At 11:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Ummar and impeded the free flow of traffic until 12:30.

Raid

(i) At 11:35, Israeli forces raided Hebron and stormed 2 homes.
(ii) At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Fuwar camp then stormed and searched 3 homes.

Killings

At 13:55, 2 residents including a child: Adnan Ayad Hamad Al-Mashni (17 years old){A resident of Al-Shiyoukh town} and Mohammad Ahmad Qawazba (23 years old){A resident of Sa’ir} were killed after Israeli forces opened fire towards them for allegedly attempting to stab a Israeli soldier near Beit Einoun village junction {As alleged by the Israeli Military}

Attack

At 18:50, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Aroub camp fired live ammunition; rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured Ahmad Hussien Al-Badawi.

Detention

(i) At 01:50 on January 12th 2016, Israeli forces detained Wael Issa Ahmad Masalmeh during their raid into Beit Awwa as mentioned in the previous report.
(ii) At 17:45, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Fuwar j unction detained Ali Mohamamd Abdel-Fattah Rasous (A resident of Al-Fuwar camp).

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
• Israeli forces broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Gaza and Central Gaza.
• Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

At 08:30, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

Attack
