Daily Report January 12, 2016

• On January 11th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
• The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
•  The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

• The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
• The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.
• On November 16th 2015, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem which leads to “Armon Hantsiv” settlement with cement blocks.

• Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
• On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu’fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

• At 14:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Eisawiya village and clashed with several residents.
• At 02:20, Israeli forces raided Anata then stormed and searched a home.

• At 16:20, Israeli forces positioned at Shu’fat checkpoint fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
• At 18:40, Israeli forces positioned at Hizma checkpoint opened fire towards the child Qusay Raed Nimr Abdel-Jawad Al-Jimzawi (12 years old) {a resident of Anata} and as a result injured him during which Israeli forces detained him.

• At dawn on January 12th 2016, Israeli forces detained 4 residents including 2 children: Mohammad Al-Hidrah (14 years old), Imad Abu Ghannam (16 years old), Mohammad Al-Hidrah (19 years) and IbrahimAl-Hidreh (19 years old).
• Israeli forces detained the child Qusay Raed Nimr Abdel-Jawad Al-Jimzawi (12 years old) {A resident of Anata} as he was injured after they opened fire towards him near Hizma checkpoint.

Home Demolition: At 17:30, Israeli forces stormed Shu’fat neighbourhood and served a military order for the demolition of a home owned Khalaf Al-Qamari in order to complete construction of road (21) which connects “Psgat Za’iv” and Ramat Shalom” settlements.

Assault on Places of Worship: At 09:30, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

• The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
• On October 3rd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road located near “Bet El” settlement and leading to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks.
• Since November 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main entrance of Sinjil and the east entrance of Al-Mughier village with cement blocks. (iv) At 18:50 on December 4th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main entrance of Abboud with cement blocks. (v) On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.

Closure of Area: On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

• The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
• Since the evening of November 25th 2012, Israeli forces closed the western entrance of Ya’bad.

• At dawn on January 12th 2016, Israeli forces raided Jenin camp and detained a journalist.
• At dawn on January 12th 2016, Israeli forces raided Kafr Dan village, stormed and searched several homes and detained 3 residents.

Attack: At 10:50, Israeli forces positioned near “Hermesh” settlement located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Jenin opened fire towards Zied Maher Mohammad Al-Ashqar (A resident of Sayda village in Tulkarem) and as a result injured him then detained him for allegedly attempting to stab a Israeli soldier.

• Israeli forces detained Mujahid Al-Sa’di (A journalist) in Jenin camp.
• Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Wassim Mufid Abed, Mohammad Nidal Yusef Salah and Irqaz Nidal Yusef Salahat in Kafr Dan.
• Israeli forces detained Zied Maher Mohammad Al-Ashqar (A resident of Sayda village in Tulkarem).

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.

At 20:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Lid then searched residents and vehicles.

At 06:35, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem.

• At 02:45 on January 11th 2016, Israeli forces detained Fadi Eyad Abdel-Kareem Khouli during their raid into Tulkarem as mentioned in the previous report.
• At 20:00, Israeli forces detained Tariq Thaer Thiyab (A resident of Tulkarem) as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.

• Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
• In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
• Since 16:55 on December 18th 2014, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with dirt mounds
• Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate

• At 14:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Izbit Al-Tabib village then searched residents and vehicles.
• At 22:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Habla town then searched residents and vehicles.

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

• The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
• The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
• At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
• On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
• At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.

• At 19:50, Israeli forces closed Huwarah checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic then reopened it at a later time.
• At 20:30, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Beit Furiq checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 21:10.

At 08:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Majdal Bani Fadil village then searched residents and vehicles until 09:30.

At 03:25, Israeli forces raided Nablus, Askar camp and Iraq Al-Taya village, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes and as a result injured Ahmad Rawhi Al-Aqat amd detained 3 residents including a child then withdrew at 05:45.

Israeli forces detained 3 residents including a chid: Ahmad Ammar Qandeil (17 years old), Daoud Ahmad Rawajbeh and Suhayeb Makawi Al-Kharaz.

• The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
• On 15.04.2012, the Israeli army has opened the northern entrance to Salfit city to civilian which was closed since the year 2000 and prevented access from 08:00 until 09:20.
• Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

At 12:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the North entrance of Bruqin then searched residents and vehicles until 16:00.

At 12:00 and again at 02:50, Israeli forces raided Kafr Al-Dik, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 04:25

At 21:40 on January 10th 2016, Israeli forces positioned near the wall gate in Al-Zawiya detained Mohammad Fadil Abdel-Rahim (A resident of Bidya) in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.

At 14:40, Israeli forces positioned in the area between Bruqin and Kafr Al-Dik temporarily detained Murad Fo’ad Abdallah (A National Security Force Officer) then released him at 16:50.

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

At 14:10, Israeli forces raided Aqbat Al-Jabr camp in Jericho, stormed a home and summoned Mohammad Abdallah Najoum to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning and again at 01:40 then detained a resiednta and withdrew at 02:25.

• The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
• Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

• The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
• The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
• Since August 2nd 2012, Israeli forces closed a road leading to Beit Jalla.
• Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
• Since June 3rd 2013, the Israeli army closed the road connecting Nihalin and road 60 with dirt mounds.
• Since 13:20 on September 29th 2013, the Israeli army closed a road leading to 50 acres of agricultural land in Wadi Salem area in Al-Khadr with dirt mounds.
• Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Surif and Al-Jub’a village with dirt mounds.
• On January 28th 2014, Israeli forces closed the steel gate at the entrance of Nihalin { replacing the dirt mounds placed at the entrance since the year 2002} and placed time schedule for opening the gate from 06:00 until 14:00 on a daily bases.
• Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
• At 15:30 on November 20th 2015, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Jinata and the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
• At 13:10 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
• At 18:00 on November 27th 2015, Israeli forces closed Bararat junction located in Ras area in Beit Jallah with cement blocks.
• At 14:50 on November 28th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Um Al-Raqaba area located in Al-Khader with cement blocks.

Flying Checkpoint: At 09:45 and again at 17:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Beit Fajjar, searched residents and vehicles temporarily detained 2 Palestinian Intelligence officers: Issa Nifan Janazrah and Mahmoud Yusef Taqatqa and released them at 13:00.

• At 19:15, Israeli forces raided Nihalin village then clashed with several resident and vehicles.
• At 21:45, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader, clashed with several resiednts and they stormed and searched Issa Yusef Ghannam’s home then withdrew at 23:20.
• At 00:50, Israeli forces raided Beit Jallah.
• At 03:15, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem.
• At 04:15, Israeli forces raided Al-Obidiya.

• The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
• Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

• The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Al-Thahiriya and Al-Samoa’ towns, Al-‘Arrub refugee camp, and Al-Tuwani and Al-Karmil villages.
• The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
• The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
• The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.
• At 05:50 on November 5th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance leading Farsh Al-Hawa area in Hebron with Cement blocks.
• At 10:30 on November 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the junction located near “Hagi” settlement located in south Hebron with cement blocks.
• At 21:00 on November 11th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Beit Awwa and Al-Majd village with cement block and dirt mounds.
• At 15:45 on November 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed Al-Samiya village junction located at the west entrance of Al-Samou’ with cement blocks.
• On November 15th 2015 , Israeli forces closed the entrances of Khliat Al-Miya and Al Dirat and the 2 bypass roads leading east Ytta with cement blocks.
• On November 23rd 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Al-Qom village located in North Beit Awwa with Cement blocks.
• On December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed a checkpoint located along Al-Shuhada road located in the old city of Hebron and prevented residents from passing through the checkpoint and redirected traffic through a road near the entrance of Jabal Al-Rahma .
• On December 9th 2015, Israeli forces closed a road near Jabal Jallis area located in the old city of Hebron and closed the bypass road.

• At 00:30, Israeli forces raided Yatta, stormed a home and summoned Hufaytha Mohammad Hassan Harini to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 05:00.
• At 01:500, Israeli forces raided Beit Awwa, detained a resident then withdrew at 05:00.

Israeli forces detained Jibril Salamah Jabr Sowiti in Beit Awa.

• At 10:45, Israeli forces positioned at “Meitar” checkpoint located along the Green Line in South Al-Thahriiya temporarily detained Nahlah Jamal Abd Abu Ramouz (60 years old) {A resident of Hebron} as she was travelling to visit her husband in Israeli Prison for allegedly finding several Cellular telephone SIM-Cards for {Jawal Telecommunication company} then released her at 11:00.

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
