WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  1. On February 28th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  3. The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  1. Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  2. On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu’fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Raid
  1. At 17:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Isawiya village, clashed with several residents and detained a resident after injuring him.
Detention
  1. At 23:00, Israeli forces detained Abdul Rahman Khaled Al-Abbassi (A resident of Silwan neighbourhood) after assaulting him.
  2. On February 28th 2016, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Taha Abu Khdeir and Abd Mansour Abu Khdeir in Shu’fat neighbourhood in Jerusalem.
  3. Israeli forces detained Mohammad Waleed Obied in Al-Eizariya.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  1. At 09:00, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  2. The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages and in Deir Ibzi’ village with dirt mounds.
  2. On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.
  3. At 09:20 on February 9th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Shuqba and Sabatini villages with cement blocks and also installed a steel gate in the area.
  4. At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire towards Bet El settlement as alleged by the Israeli Military.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 14:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Atara bridge located in North Bir Ziet then searched residents and vehicle until 16:30.
  2. At 22:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Khirbathat Al-Misbah village then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  1. At dawn on February 28th 2016, Israeli forces raided Beit Ur At Tahta village.
Detention
  1. At 17:00, Israeli forces detained Alaa Khader Suliman (A resident of Beit Ur At Tahta).
  2. At 22:10, Israeli forces detained Abdul-Qadder Qayed Hamad (A resident of Silwad) as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.
  3. Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Ibrahim Musbah Suliman and Mohammad Mahmoud Omar in Beit Ur At Tahta.
Temporary Detention
  1. On the evening of February 28th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at the west entrance of Silwad temporarily detained the child Suhayeb Al-Jaraz (13 years old) {A resident of Silwad} then released him after assaulting him.

JENIN

Closure
  1. On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
  2. Since the evening of November 25th 2012, Israeli forces closed the western entrance of Ya’bad.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 09:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Hadadd village tourist resort junction then searched residents and vehicles until 10:00.
Raid
  1. At 02:35, Israeli forces raided Al-Yamoun town, detained a resident then withdrew at 03:45.
Attack
  1. At 10:45, Israeli forces positioned at the east entrance of Ya’bad fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result set fire to a vehicle owned by  Yusef Ali Al-Jada’ after a tear gas grenade exploded inside the vehicle and then detained a child.
Detention
  1. Israeli forces detained Ahmad Hafith Ahmad Sa’adah in Al-Yamoun.
  2. Israeli forces detained Ameer Kamal Mohammad Al-Razi (15 years old) in Ya’bad.
Closure of Wall Gates
  1. Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Flying Checkpoints

At 09:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Tubas and Aqaba then searched residents and vehicles.

House Demolition

At 06:00, Israeli forces stormed Al-Farisiya area in the North Jordan valley and demolished 4 residential tent, 4 livestock dens and a Electricity Generator owned by Mohammad Tarik Subieh, Hamad Rizq Abdallah Daraghmeh, Allan Lafi Hamad Daraghmeh and Talal Yusef Ayada.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  1. At 08:00, 11:00 and again at 17:30, Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 19:30.
Flying Checkpoints

At 13:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along Al-Kafriyat road which connects Tulkarem and Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles until 15:05

Physical Assault

At 18:20, Israeli forces positioned at Jabarah checkpoint assaulted Imad Sa’id Ahmad (A resident of Al-Silah Al-Harthiya} and as a result left them hospitalised with contusions.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  1. Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  2. In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  3. Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 21:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Jit village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 22:25.
(ii) At 22:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 00:20, Israeli forces raided Azzun Atma and detained 2 residents

Temporary Detention

At 16:50, Israeli forces positioned near “Gillad” settlement located in east Immatin village temporarily detained 2 children: Eyad Haytham Yamin (13 years old) and Ali Mahmoud Yamin (13 years old){both residents of Jit village} and released them at a later time.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
(iv) At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 19:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near “Shave Shomron” settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles until 20:55.
(ii) At 19:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Furiq then searched residents and vehicles until 22:55.

Raid

(i) At 00:45, Israeli forces raided Beit Furiq, stormed and searched several homes, detained 3 residents then withdrew at 02:30.
(ii) At 05:50, Israeli forces raided Kafr Qalil village, detained a resident then withdrew at 06:15.
(iii) At dawn on February 29th 2016, Israeli forces raided Nablus and detained 2 residents.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Ameer Ibrahim Mahfoth Nasarah, Marouf Nayef Abu Al-Saud and Nasser Sha’ban Nasrallah Hanini in Beit Furiq.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Mujahid Mohammad Sa’id Al-Qutb in Kafr Qalil village.
(iii) Israeli forces detained Maher Khatab and Alaa Ayed in Nablus city

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 15:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Qarwat Bani Hassan village then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 15:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the North entrance of Salfit then searched residents and vehicles until 17:00.
(iii) At 23:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Salfit and Burqin then searched residents and vehicles

Detention

At 09:40, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint detained Mazin Rayiq Fo’ad Abu Saleh (A resident of Nablus city).

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Raid

At 21:30, Israeli forces raided Fasayil village until 22:25

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(iii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iv) At 14:50 on November 28th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Um Al-Raqaba area located in Al-Khader with cement blocks.
(v) At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with earth mounds.
(vi) On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the steel gate entrance leading to Um Al-Rakaba area located in Al-Khader.

Raid

(i) At 15:05, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader, clashed with several residents and as a result injured 2 residents including a child: Yazan Omar Abdel-Sater Salah (15 years old) and Hisham Mohammad Ahmad Atwan Subeih (A medical doctor) then withdrew at 15:30.
(ii) At 00:10, Israeli forces raided Nihalin village, stormed 2 homes and summoned Nimer Khaled Al-Abed Khalil Shakarneh to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.

Injuries

Israeli forces injured 2 residents including a child: Yazan Omar Abdel-Sater Salah (15 years old) and Hisham Mohammad Ahmad Atwan Subeih (A medical doctor) .

Attack

At 16:55, Israeli forces positioned near the west entrance of Teqou’ fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road which connects Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to close the entrance to Beit Ummar located near the local cemetery with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 10:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Sa’ir and Bani Na’im then searched residents and vehicles until 11:30

Raid

(i) At dawn on February 28th 2016, Israeli forces raided Beit Kahil and detained 2 residents including a child.
(ii) At 00:50, Israeli forces raided Hebron city, detained 2 residents then withdrew at 06:00.
(iii) At dawn on February 29th 2016, Israeli forces raided Surif town and detained 2 residents.

Attack

At 22:55, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Beit Ummar town fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

(i) At 17:30, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Beit Ummar detained Hamza Ahmad Khalil Abu Hashim (A resident of Beit Ummar).
(ii) Israeli forces detained Hamzah Hussein Hassan Al-Zahourc (17 years old) and Usayed Sabri Al-Zahour in Beit Kahil.
(iii) Israeli forces detained Shadi Al-Halshamoun and Mohammad Arafat Ibrahim Al-Qawami in Hebron city.
(iv) Israeli forces detained Yusef Waheed Abdallah Abu Farat and Tuqay Al-Din Jamal Al-Hoor in Surif.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
• Israeli forces broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards North Gaza, Gaza, Central Gaza, Khan Yunis and Rafah and as a result injured a resident.
• Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination

(i) At 07:30 on February 27th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in Jabaliya.
(ii) At 09:00, on February 27th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Beit Hanoun.
(iii) At 09:30 on of February 27th 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya.
(iv) At 16:50, on February 27th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Beit Hanoun.
(v) At 08:30 on February 28th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in Jabaliya

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision

Attack

(i) At 07:30 on February 27th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green
Line opened fire towards several farmers on agricultural land in east Jahir Ad-Dik town located in south east Gaza City.
(ii) At 15:20 on February 27th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several farmers on agricultural land in east Jahir Ad-Dik town located in south east Gaza City.
(iii) At 15:10 on February 28th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several farmers on agricultural land in east Al-Shuja’ya neighbourhood located in east Gaza City and as a result injured a resident.

Injuries

A resident was injured as after Israeli forces opened fire towards east Al-Shuja’ya neighbourhood located in east Gaza City.

Detention

At 18:00 on February 28th 2016, Israeli forces detained 4 unidentified residents as they were attempting to climb the border fence from east Gaza city into Israel.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack

At 07:30 on February 27th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al Maghazi camp.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

(i) At 07:30 on February 27th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Khaz’a.
(ii) At 15:00 on February 27th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Qarara town.
(iii) At 22:50 on February 28th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Khaz’a.

Detention

At 15:20 on February 28th 2016, Israeli forces detained a unidentified residents as he were attempting to climb the border fence from east Khan Yunis into Israel.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
(iv) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA

Attack

At 07:30 on February 27th 2016, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in near Sufa crossing point in North east Rafah.

Detention

At 03:20 on February 27th 2016, Israeli forces detained 3 unidentified residents as they were attempting to climb the border fence from east Rafah into Israel.
