WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  1. On February 23rd 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  3. The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  1. Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  2. On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 17:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Ram junction then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  1. At 18:30, Israeli forces Al-Eisawiya village, clashed with several residents and detained 4 residents.
  2. At 04:20, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis and detained a child.
Detention
  1. Israeli forces detained 4 residents: Musa Kaluni, Omar Al-Razem, Aziz Ghassan Aliyan and Kareem Ghassan Aliyan in Al-Eisawiya village.
  2. Israeli forces detained the child Oday Yusef Badr (14 years old) in Abu Dis.
House Occupation
  1. On February 23rd 2016, Israeli Military courts ruled in favor of “Atirat Kohanim” settler association for the seizure of a plot of land as well as 2 buildings {consisting of 6 apartments} owned by members Al-Rajabi family in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem claiming that the land and buildings are owned by 3 Jewish Israeli’s before 1948 and gave the family 30 days to object to the court ruling.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  1. At 09:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  2. The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  2. On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.
  3. At 09:20 on February 9th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Shuqba and Shbatin villages with cement blocks and also installed a steel gate in the area.
  4. At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.
Raid
  1. At 08:00, Israeli forces raided Beituniya and detained 2 residents.
  2. At 09:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Tayba.
  3. At 18:20, Israeli forces raided Khirbith Al-Misbah village and clashed with several residents.
  4. At 21:50, Israeli forces raided Beit Ur At’Tahta, clashed with several residents as they stormed the family home of Ibrahim Allan {who was killed by Israeli forces} then withdrew at 02:30.
  5. At 01:05, Israeli forces raided Al-Jalazoun camp and detained a resident.
  6. At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Turmus’aya and detained a University student.
Detention
  1. Israeli forces detained Sa’id Al-Qasrawi and Wissam Hussien in Beituniya.
  2. Israeli forces detained Fadi Nayif Aliyan in Al-Jalazoun camp.
  3. Israeli forces detained Majd Mohammad Ali Rizq (A University student) in Turmus’aya.

JENIN

Closure
  1. On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
  2. At 21:40 on February 21st 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Jenin city and Qabatiya with dirt mounds.
Raid
  1. Since 21:40 on February 21st 2016, Israeli forces remain present in Qabatiya village and extended its blockade {of the village for the second consecutive day} after closing all the roads leading to the area with dirt mounds and prevented residents from entering or exiting the village then withdrew at 20:00 and at 04:00, Israeli forces again raided Qabatiya village, detained a resident and served a military order for the demolition of a home owned by the family of Ahmad Naji Ismail Zakarnah {who was killed by Israeli forces} then withdrew at 05:00.
  2. At 20:00, Israeli forces raided Az Zababida town and clashed with several residents.
Detention
  1. At 04:35 on February 23rd 2016, Israeli forces detained Majd Ahmad Mahmoud Amarneh during their raid into Ya’bad in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.
  2. Israeli forces detained Tawfiq Mahmoud Zakarneh in Qabatiya.
Closure of Wall Gates
  1. Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TULKAREM

Closure
  1. Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 18:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Bizzariya village junction located in east Anabta then searched residents and vehicles until 21:45
Raid
  1. At 14:00, Israeli forces raided Izbat Shufa village until 14:40.
  2. At 14:25, Israeli forces raided Far’un village until 16:20.
  3. At 20:10, Israeli forces raided Anabta.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  1. Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  2. In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  3. Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Closure of Wall Gates
  1. The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  2. The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  1. Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  3. At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  4. At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  5. At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.

  1. At 10:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Qusin village junction then searched residents and vehicles.
  2. At 18:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Sarra village junction located along the main road connecting Nablus and Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles.
  3. At 24:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Imrin village then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  1. At 02:05, Israeli forces raided Nablus city, detained a resident then withdrew at 02:15.
Detention
  1. Israeli forces detained Loia Yasser Fathi Hamad in Nablus.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  2. Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.
  3. At 09:30 on February 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed a agricultural road which connects Kafr Harris and Harris village {located beneath the bridge}.
Military Checkpoints
  1. At 08:30, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 10:00.
Raid
  1. At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Kafr Ad-Dik until 06:40.
Temporary Detention
  1. At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Kafr Ad-Dik until 06:40.
Settlers Violence
  1. At 21:20, an Israeli settler’s vehicle travelling along the main road near “Ariel” settlement ran over Hani Foad Abidat and as a result left him hospitalised with contusions.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  1. Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 23:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along road (90) in Al-Oja village then searched residents and vehicles until 20:35.
Raid
  1. At 22:35, Israeli forces raided Fasayil village.
Settlers Violence
  1. At 21:00, an Israeli settler driving a vehicle travelling along the main road in Al-Oja village ran over and killed a woman.
Killings
  1. Israeli settlers driving a vehicle ran over and killed Zaynab Musah Rashaydeh (55 years old) along the main road in Al-Oja village.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  1. The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  2. Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
  2. Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
  3. Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  4. At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 23:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Um Rakaba area located in Al-Khader town then searched residents and vehicles until 24:00.
Raid
  1. At 11:55, Israeli forces raided Al ‘Ubeidiya town, set up a checkpoint, temporarily detained 2 residents: Raja Mohammad Taya Salah and Sami Suliman Mohammad Salah then withdrew at 13:00.
  2. At 20:00, Israeli forces raided Battir village until 20:40.
  3. At 01:25, Israeli forces raided Tuqu’ then stormed and searched 6 homes.
Attack
  1. At 22:50, Israeli forces positioned near Ayda camp located in North Bethlehem city fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  1. At 13:20, Israeli forces positioned at Container checkpoint detained Mohammad Atiya Nimr Hanoun (A resident of Balata camp in Nablus city).

HEBRON

Closure
  1. The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  2. Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
  3. The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.
Raid
  1. At 00:30, Israeli forces raided Hebron city, detained 2 residents then withdrew at 04:45.
  2. At 00:50, Israeli forces raided Yatta, summoned 2 residents: Taysir Raba’ and Issa Ismail Saledh Al-Amour to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 04:45.
  3. At 04:00, Israeli forces raided Halhoul, detained a resident then withdrew at 06:45.
Detention
  1. Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Loia Aliyan Al-Taweel and Kareem Mohammad Akram Mustafa Shaheen in Hebron city.
  2. Israeli forces detained Anan Yusef Mohammad Zamar’a in Halhoul.
GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  1. At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  2. Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Gaza, Central Gaza and Khan Yunis.
  3. Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  1. Beit Hanun (Erez) is Beit Hanun (Erez) open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination
Attack
  1. At 09:15, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  1. Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  2. Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

  1. At 14:20, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in east Jahir Al-Dik area located in south east Gaza city.
