WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  1. On February 17th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  3. The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  1. Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  2. On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 15:25, Israeli forces setup a checkpoint at the entrance of Qalandiya village then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  1. At dawn on February 17th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya and detained 2 residents.
  2. At 18:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Qabiba village, temporarily detained 2 children: Yusef Abdel Hafith Ma’ali (15 years old) and Mohammad Hassanein Hamoudeh (15 years old) then released him at a later time and withdrew at 22:20
  3. At 19:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram and clashed with several residents
  4. At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Qalandiya camp and served a military order for the demolition of a home owned by the family of Hussien Abu Ghosh {who was killed by Israeli forces} and set the implantation of February 23rd 2016 then withdrew at 01:30.
Attack
  1. At 21:00, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Tur and Al-Suwana neighbourhood junctions fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  1. At 08:00, Israeli forces detained 2 residents including a child: Taha Abu Taya (17 years old) and Oday Aby Taya in Silwan neighbourhood.
  2. Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Abdallah Ribhi Faroun and Husam Ahmad Rabi’ Faroun in Al-Eizraiya.
Destruction of Property
  1. At 08:00, Israeli forces stormed Al-Eisawiya village and demolished several Baracks’ and agricultural products as they levelled a plot of agricultural land in order to build a park for the settlements.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  1. At 09:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  2. The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  2. On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.
  3. On January 27th 2016, Israeli forces closed Beit Ur Al-Tahta village junction which leads to road (443) with cement blocks.
  4. At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road located near “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp {After alleged shooting towards Bet El settlement {as alleged by the Israeli military}.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 19:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Ein and Yabroud village then searched residents and vehicles until 21:00.
  2. At 19:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Atarah village bridge located in North Bir Ziet then searched residents and vehicles until 20:25
  3. At 19:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area located between Deir Dibwan and Betien village then searched residents and vehicles until 21:00.
  4. At 19:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Sinjil then searched residents and vehicles until 21:00.
  5. At 20:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Ein Sinya roundabout located along the main road connecting Ramallah and Nablus then searched residents and vehicles until 20:40.
  6. At 22:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Mughier village then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 10:15, Israeli forces raided Jifna village, stormed and searched the home of Mahmoud Salem Al-Badawi {A Palestinian Detainee} then withdrew at 11:15.
Attack
  1. At 08:50, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of “Pesagout” settlement located in the east area of Al-Bireh city fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  2. At 15:00, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Ni’lin fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

JENIN

Closure
  1. On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan and the south entrance of Ya’bad.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 15:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Araba junction then searched residents and vehicles until 16:00.
Raid
  1. At 17:30, Israeli forces raided Sanour village, occupied a home owned by Najah Hassan Habiba and converted its rooftop into Military post then withdrew at a later time.
  2. At 18:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Hashimiya village and clashed with several residents.
Closure of Wall Gates
  1. Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  1. At 08:20, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 08:45.
Raid
  1. At 02:40, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem, detained a resident then withdrew at 06:35.
Detention
  1. Israeli forces detained Ahmad Hamad Masaud  (A resident of Izbit Shufa ) in Tulkarem city.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  1. Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town. In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  2. Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
  3. At 21:25 on February 13th 2016, Israeli forces closed the entrance Aqraba with dirt mounds.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 19:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles.
Closure of Wall Gates
  1. The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  2. The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  1. Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  2. At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  3. On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
  4. At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  5. At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
Military Checkpoints
  1. At 08:10, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Beit Fajjar checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 13:20.
Raid
  1. At 11:00, Israeli forces raided Khirbiet Tana village located in east Beit Furiq until 12:00.
Detention
  1. At 01:50 on February 17th 2016, Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Majdi Fayez Sa’id Al-Zaragha, Majed Abdel-Raziq Qatab and Al-Qaman Shaher Abu Amashiya during their raid into Nablus city in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  2. On 15.04.2012, the Israeli army has opened the northern entrance to Salfit city to civilian which was closed since the year 2000 and prevented access from 08:00 until 09:20.
  3. Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  1. Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Raid
  1. At 15:10, Israeli forces raided Qarwat Bani Hassan, clashed with several residents and temporarily detained Omar Hamam Mara’I then released him at a later time and withdrew at 17:00.
  2. At 01:50, Israeli forces raided Deir Istiya , stormed and searched several homes, detained 3 residents  then withdrew at 03:30.
  3. At 03:40, Israeli forces raided Kafil Harris.
Detention
  1. Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Jihad Abdel-Kareem Abdallah, Karam Radi Abdallah and Mustafa Daoud Obied in Deir Istiya.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  1. Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.
Raid
  1. At 14:45, Israeli forces raided Al-Oja village until 15:45.
  2. At 15:50, Israeli forces raided Marj El Na’ja village, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 16:40.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  1. The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  2. Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between  Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
  3. Since August 2nd 2012, Israeli forces closed a road leading to Beit Jalla.
  4. Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  5. Since June 3rd 2013, the Israeli army closed the road connecting Nihalin and road 60 with dirt mounds.
  6. Since 13:20 on September 29th 2013, the Israeli army closed a road leading to 50 acres of agricultural land in Wadi Salem area in Al-Khadr with dirt mounds.
  7.  Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Surif and Al-Jub’a village with dirt mounds.
  8. On January 28th 2014, Israeli forces closed the steel gate at the entrance of Nihalin { replacing the dirt mounds placed at the entrance since the year 2002} and placed time schedule for opening the gate from 06:00 until 14:00 on a daily bases.
  9. Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
Raid
  1. At 12:00, Israeli forces raided Irtas village until 12:30.
  2. At 13:50 and again at 17:20, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader then clashed with several residents.
  3. At 13:55, Israeli forces raided Husan village, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 14:10.
  4. At 00:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem, stormed several homes and summoned a child: Mohammad Ahmad Yusef Mughrabi (15 years old) to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 05:00.
  5. At 02:45, Israeli forces raided Nihalin village and detained a resident.
Attack
  1. At 12:00, Israeli forces positioned in Um Al-Rakaba area in Al-Khader fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Temporary Detention
  1. At 10:50, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Taqou’ temporarily detained 2 residents: Mohammad Mustafa Ta’mra band Mohammad Jamal Ta’amra then released them after assaulting them.

HEBRON

Closure
  1. The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  2. Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Al-Thahiriya and Al-Samoa’ towns, Al-‘Arrub refugee camp, and Al-Tuwani and Al-Karmil villages. 
  2. The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
  3. The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
  4. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 11:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Sa’ir and Bani Na’im then searched residents and vehicles.
  2. At 18:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Huwar area junction then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  1. At dawn on February 17th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Fuwar camp and detained 2 residents.
  2. At 14:00, Israeli forces raided Hebron, stormed and searched a home and a Solid waste treatment plant.
  3. At 19:35, Israeli forces raided Halhoul, clashed with several residents as the stormed 2 homes and confiscated a financial amount {15000 NIS} from the home  of Maher Al-Hashlamoun then withdrew at 21:35.
  4. At 00:30, Israeli forces raided Ithna until 02:50.
  5. At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Yatta then stormed and searched a home.
  6. At 10:50, Israeli forces raided Dura and detained a resident.
Confiscation of Property
  1. Israeli Forces confiscated a financial amount {15000 NIS} from the home  of Maher Al-Hashlamoun after storming it during their raid into Halhoul.
Detention
  1. At 01:55, Israeli forces detained 2 children: Loia Mohammad Omar Jaradat (17 years old) and Bashar Idris Matour (15 years old) during their raid into Sa’ir as mentioned in the previous report.
  2. Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Mohammad Omar Abdel-Qadder Al-Karami and Imad Mohammad Hassan Al-Karami in Al-Fuwar camp.
  3. Israeli forces detained Loia Basil Shadid in Dura village.
Destruction of Property
  1. At 11:30, Israeli forces  stormed in Al-Markaz , Jinba, Halawah villages located in south east Yatta and levelled a plot of agricultural land {for the purpose of building a settlement park}owned by Al-Amour, Rabi’, Jabarin , Mohammad, Hushiyeh, Abu Aram and Abu Saba  and as a result damaged and uprooted several agricultural crops.
GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  1. At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of  increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  2. The Israeli Military broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Central Gaza and Khan Yunis.
  3. Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza , Central Gaza, Khan Yunis  and Rafah.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  1. Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
Attack
  1. At 07:30 on February 17th 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boat off the shores of Al-Sudaniya beach located in west Beit Lahiya.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  1. Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  2. Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision

CENTRAL GAZA

Raid
  1. At 08:00, Israeli forces escorting several military bulldozers stormed 150 m into the vicinity of east Al-Maghazi camp and levelled a plot of land then withdrew at 14:00.
Attack
  1. At 08:50, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores Deir Al-Balah.
  2. At 23:15, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores Al-Nussayrat camp.
  3. At 00:30, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Maghazi camp.

KHAN YUNIS

Raid
  1. At 13:15, Israeli forces escorting several military bulldozers stormed 200 m into the vicinity of Al-Qarrara and levelled a plot of land then withdrew at 17:00.
Attack
  1. At 08:40, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores  of Khan Yunis.
  2. At 09:00 and again at 10:50, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Khaz’a.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  1. Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  2. Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
  3. Sufa Crossing is closed
  4. Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is is open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA.
