WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure

(i) On February 13th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

Military Checkpoints

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Bir Nabala then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 22:50, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram {for the alleged shooting at a Israeli Military base in the area} during which they clashed with several residents and withdrew at 01:45.

Attack

(i) At 17:45, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Za’im checkpoint opened fire towards a vehicle carrying 3 residents and as s result injured 2 residents and then detained them after chasing their vehicle.
(ii) At 01:00, Israeli forces positioned in Silwan neighbourhood fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for the alleged throwing of a fire bomb towards a Israeli Police vehicle

Injuries

Israeli forces opened fire towards and injured 2 unidentified residents.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 3 unidentified residents near Al-Za’im checkpoint.

House Demolition

At 16:00, Israeli forces stormed Silwan neighbourhood and served military orders for the demolition of 3 homes owned by: Musa Odeh, Mahmoud Qara’in and Omar Abu Rajab.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.
(iii) On January 27th 2016, Israeli forces closed Beit Ur Al-Tahta village junction which leads to road (443) with cement blocks.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 11:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Kharbatahat Al-Misbah village then searched residents and vehicles until 15:10.
(ii) At 14:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of “Ofar” village then searched residents and vehicles until 16:50.
(iii) At 18:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 21:30.
(iv) At 20:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Ein Sinya village roundabout located along the main road connecting Ramallah and Nablus then searched residents and vehicles until 23:00.
(v) At 20:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Nabi Saleh village then searched residents and vehicles until 24:00.

Raid

At 20:50, Israeli forces raided Turmuys’aya until 22:30.

JENIN

Closure

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
(ii) At 14:50 on February 5th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Jenin city and Qabatiya with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 15:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Jabra village then searched residents and vehicles until 21:30.

Raid

(i) At 17:00, Israeli forces raided Zabouba village until 17:30.
(ii) At 20:45, Israeli forces raided Anien village.
(iii) At 04:00, Israeli forces raided Arrabah and detained a resident after storming his home.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Wael Suliman Sadek Al-Sha’er in Arraba.

Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

House Demolition

At 08:30 on February 11th 2016, Israeli forces stormed Al-Farisiya village in the north Jordan valley [as previously mentioned on the February 12th report} demolished 6 homes owned by: Mohammad Faris Sabieh, Zidan Adnan Dabiyat, Yusef Talal Ayada, Burhan Lafi Daraghmeh, Inad Rashdi Sawafta and Ziyad Shihadeh Fuqaha as well as demolishing 2 livestock sheds.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

At 18:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Allar then searched residents and vehicles until 21:25.

Assaults on Property

At 18:00, Israeli forces levelled and placed dirt mounds near the steel wall gate entrance located in Nazlat Issa village in order to prevent stoning in the area.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 16:55 on December 18th 2014, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with dirt mounds
(iv) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

(i) At 18:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Izbit Al-Tabib village then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 18:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along Jit village junction then searched residents and vehicles.
(iii) At 20:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles.
(iv) At 21:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 00:20, Israeli forces raided Qalqiliya until 05:40.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
(iv) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
(v) At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
(vi) At 09:00 on February 1st 2016, Israeli forces closed the south steel gate entrance of Jama’I and closed the main road connecting Jama’in and Zieta with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 16:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Deir Sharaf junction then searched residents and vehicles.

Settlers Violence

At 14:55, a group of Israeli settlers stormed agricultural land in Einbus village.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) On 15.04.2012, the Israeli army has opened the northern entrance to Salfit city to civilian which was closed since the year 2000 and prevented access from 08:00 until 09:20.
(iii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 09:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Zawiya then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 11:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Isakaka Village Bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 12:10.
(iii) At 21:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the north entrance of Salfit then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 12:30, Israeli forces raided Salfit until 13:10.

Detention

At 16:20, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint detained Mohammad Hussein Bani Odeh (A resident of Tammoun).

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Fasayil village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 21:15.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
(iii) Since August 2nd 2012, Israeli forces closed a road leading to Beit Jalla.
(iv) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(v) Since June 3rd 2013, the Israeli army closed the road connecting Nihalin and road 60 with dirt mounds.
(vi) Since 13:20 on September 29th 2013, the Israeli army closed a road leading to 50 acres of agricultural land in Wadi Salem area in Al-Khadr with dirt mounds.
(vii) Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Surif and Al-Jub’a village with dirt mounds.
(viii) On January 28th 2014, Israeli forces closed the steel gate at the entrance of Nihalin { replacing the dirt mounds placed at the entrance since the year 2002} and placed time schedule for opening the gate from 06:00 until 14:00 on a daily bases.
(ix) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds

Raid

(i) At 17:30, Israeli forces raided Nahalin village, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched a home and confiscated surveillance camera footage from a home owned by Ali Musa Najjajrah then withdrew at 23:00.
(ii) At 01:35, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar, stormed and searched several homes and detained 2 residents then withdrew at 05:55.
(iii) At 03:55, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem and detained a resident after storming his home.
(iv) At 07:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem, clashed with several; residents as they stormed and searched several homes and as a result injured Mohammad Fathi Ibrahim Ayad and detained 2 residents.

Confiscation of Property

Israeli forces stormed and searched a home and confiscated surveillance camera footage from a home owned by Ali Musa Najjajrah.

Attack

At 13:10, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Billal Bin Rabah Mosque and in Al-Ayda camp located in North Bethlehem fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Rizq Waleed Mohammad Thawabteh and Iz Al-Din Sameeh Mohammad Thawabteh.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Sadam Hussien Abiyat in Bethlehem.
(iii) Israeli forces detained Salem Qassim Ahmad Al-Masri and Ammar Sami Hajjajrah in Al-Duhisheh camp.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Al-Thahiriya and Al-Samoa’ towns, Al-‘Arrub refugee camp, and Al-Tuwani and Al-Karmil villages.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
(iv) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Khursa village junction then searched residents and vehicles.

Killings

At 12:45, Kalzar Abdel-Haleem Al-Awawi (18 years old) {A resident of Hebron} was killed after Israeli forces opened fire towards her near Bab Al-Khan in the old city of Hebron for allegedly attempting to stab a Israeli soldier.

Attack

At 18:25, Israeli forces positioned near the south roundabout in Sa’ir town fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

At 15:35, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Al-Shuhada road in the old city of Hebron detained Jallal Qassim Al-Ra’I (A resident of Beit Ummar).

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.

• Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Gaza and Central Gaza.

• Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is closed.

At 07:30 on February 13th 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya.

Closure of Checkpoints

• Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
• Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
