WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  • On February 5th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  • The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  • On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
Attack
  • At 17:00, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Al-Eisawiya village fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 17:00, Israeli forces positioned in Abu Dis fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  • On the morning of February 5th 2016, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Farooq Fadel Nu’man Al-Shiekh and Jihad Abdel-Fattah Hamidan {both residents of Biddo.
  • On February 5th 2016,Israeli forces positioned at Al-Salsala gate (A main gate entrance leading to Al-Aqsa mosque compound) in the old city of Jerusalem detained Ahmad Badr (A resident of the old city of Jerusalem).

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  • On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.
  • On January 27th 2016, Israeli forces closed Beit Ur Al-Tahta village junction which leads to road (443) with cement blocks.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 12:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Yabroud village bridge then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 13:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Turmus’aya then then searched residents and vehicles until 14:30.
Raid
  • At 03:20, Israeli forces raided Kobar village , detained a resident then withdrew at 04:10.
Detention

Israeli forces detained Anan Mohammad Asfour Al-Barghouthi in  Kobar village.

Attack
  • At 14:10, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Al-Jalazoun camp fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured 2 residents: Usayed Murad Nakhlah and Mohammad Omar Nakhlah.
  • At 15:30, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of “Ofar” Military base/ Prison fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  • At 16:25, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Silwad fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Demonstrations
  • At 12:40, a demonstration took place in Bil’in protesting against the construction of the wall during which they clashed with Israeli forces and as a result left several residents suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  • At 12:40, a demonstration took place in Ni’lin village protesting against the construction of the wall during which they clashed with Israeli forces and as a result suffocated 3 residents from tear gas inhalation.

JENIN

Closure (per District)

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
  • At 14:50 on February 5th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Jenin city and Qabatiya with dirt mounds
Raid
  • At 04:35 on February 4th 2016, Israeli forces raided Qabatiya, closed all the roads leading to the area and declared it a closed military zone then occupied several homes and converted their rooftops into Military posts during which they clashed with several residents and as a result injured 11 residents including 2 children:  Waseem Nidal Omar (14 years ), Mohammad Nassif Ghawadra (17 years old), Rami Muslih Tamouri, Ahmad Awad Barbour, Mihammad Kamal Zakarnah, Ehab Maher Kamil, Yusef Ali Assous, Ayman Abdel-Latif, Ahmad Azmi Khalil Hawil, Hamza Sayel Jarar, Mohammad Nasser Kamil, then stormed and searched several homes and detained 4 residents including a child after injuring him).
  • At 03:10, Israeli forces raided Ya’bad, stormed a home and detained a resident then withdrew at 04:45.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 4 residents: Sa’eb Hamido Abu Jamhour (16 years old), Hamza Sayel Jarar (injured), Ramiz Nassar Al-Asmar (Palestinian Police officer) and Mu’tasim Barbour.
  • Israeli forces detained Mu’taz Mohammad Khaled Qubha in Qabatiya.
Provocation of Palestinian Forces
  • At 18:20, Israeli forces opened fire towards the Security Convoy carrying the Governor of Jenin District: Major . Ibrahim Ramadan as he was travelling to participate in the funeral of 3 residents killed by Israeli forces.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • At 09:00 and again at 21:25, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 21:30.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  • Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  • In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  • Since 16:55 on December 18th 2014, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with dirt mounds
  • Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Detention
  • At 18:50, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Qalqiliya city detained Badr Mohammad Hussien Abu Mustafa (A resident of Balata camp in Nablus).
Temporary Detention
  • At 18:50, Israeli forces positioned at the entrance of Qalqiliya city temporarily detained Batra Badr Abdalah Awis (A resident of Qalqiliya).
Demonstrations
  • At 12:40, a demonstration took place in Kafr Qaddum against the closure of the east entrance during which they clashed with Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration by firing live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach they demonstration site and as a result injured 2 residents: Rizq Ahmad Abdel-Rahman Ishtewi and Mohammad Abdel-Qadder Rayan as well as leaving several others suffocating from tear gas inhalation.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  • The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure
  • Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  • At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  • On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
  • At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  • At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
  • At 09:00 on February 1st 2016, Israeli forces closed the south steel gate entrance of Jama’I and closed the main road connecting Jama’in and Zieta with dirt mounds.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 10:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at “Yitsahar” settlement junction located in North Huwara then searched residents and vehicles until 11:30.
  • At 16:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Sarah village then searched residents and vehicles until 17:20.
  • At 17:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Osirin village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 17:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Qabalan and Yatma town junctions searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 23:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Qussin village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 00:30.
Raid
  • At 08:30, Israeli forces raided Nablus, stormed several homes, detained 3 residents and served military orders for the demolition of 2 homes owned by Amjad Alawi and Ziyad Amaar.
  • At 01:25, Israeli forces raided Beit Furiq, stormed several homes, detained 2 residents and confiscated a computer then withdrew at 03:10.
Attack
  • At 17:10, Israeli forces positioned in the area between Beit Furiq and “Yitmar” settlement fired live ammunition, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured the child Diya Hanini (14 years old).
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Hassan Muhyi-Aldeen Ardeneh, Mohammad Najeh Samarah and Shaker Khalil Al-Tarteer in Nablus city.
  • Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Bassam Abdel-Aziz Al-Haj Mohammad and Qusay Yunis Hanini in Beit Furiq.
Settlers Violence
  • At 16:35, Israeli settlers stormed Bi’r Ghazalah area located near Tel village during which local residents were able to chase away the settlers from the area.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  • On 15.04.2012, the Israeli army has opened the northern entrance to Salfit city to civilian which was closed since the year 2000 and prevented access from 08:00 until 09:20.
  • Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 13:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Yasuf village then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 14:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Deir Istiya then searched residents and vehicles.
Physical Assault
  • At 01:20, Israeli forces positioned near Kafr Qassim checkpoint assaulted Khaled Mohammad Yusef Radad (A resident of Sayda village in Tulkarem) and as a result left him hospitalised with contusions.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  • Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 16:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the dead Sea junction then searched residents and vehicles until 16:55.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
  • The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between  Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
  • Since August 2nd 2012, Israeli forces closed a road leading to Beit Jalla.
  • Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  • Since June 3rd 2013, the Israeli army closed the road connecting Nihalin and road 60 with dirt mounds.
  • Since 13:20 on September 29th 2013, the Israeli army closed a road leading to 50 acres of agricultural land in Wadi Salem area in Al-Khadr with dirt mounds.
  •  Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Surif and Al-Jub’a village with dirt mounds.
  • On January 28th 2014, Israeli forces closed the steel gate at the entrance of Nihalin { replacing the dirt mounds placed at the entrance since the year 2002} and placed time schedule for opening the gate from 06:00 until 14:00 on a daily bases.
  • Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
  • At 15:30 on November 20th 2015, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Jinata and the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
  • At 13:10 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Marah Rabah village with dirt mounds.
  • At 18:00 on November 27th 2015, Israeli forces closed Bararat junction located in Ras area in Beit Jallah with cement blocks.
  • At 14:50 on November 28th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Um Al-Raqaba area located in Al-Khader with cement blocks.
  • At 13:45 on January 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Nihalin village  with a steel gate.
  • At 20:00 on January 18th  2016, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Jinata with earth mounds.

  • At 11:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Marah Rabah village then searched residents and vehicles until 13:15
Raid
  • At 07:10 on February 5th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Aza camp in Bethlehem and summoned 2 residents: Suliman Abdel-Kareem Musa Al-Ajouz and Eyad Shu’eib Sa’ed Abu Sha’ira to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
Attack
  1. At 13:10, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Billal Bin Rabah Mosque and in Al-Ayda camp located in North Bethlehem fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured Hisham Abu Shaqra (a journalist) and left 8 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.
  2. At 14:15, Israeli forces positioned at the west entrance of Beit Fajjar fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
  3. At 16:05, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Nashash located at the south entrance of Bethlehem fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning .
  4. At 16:50, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Khader fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

HEBRON

Closure
  • The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed
  • Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads
  • The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Al-Thahiriya and Al-Samoa’ towns, Al-‘Arrub refugee camp, and Al-Tuwani and Al-Karmil villages. 
  • The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
  • The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
  • The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.
  • At 05:50 on November 5th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance leading Farsh Al-Hawa area in Hebron with Cement blocks.
  • At 10:30 on November 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the junction located near “Hagi” settlement located in south Hebron with cement blocks.
  • At 21:00 on November 11th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Beit Awwa and Al-Majd village with cement block and dirt mounds.
  • On December 9th 2015, Israeli forces closed a road near Jabal Jallis area located in the  old city of Hebron and closed the bypass road.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 13:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Al-Thahriya and Al-Samou then searched residents and vehicles.
  • At 16:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Halhoul then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 23:55, Israeli forces raided Hebron, stormed 2 homes and summoned Amjad Hisham Mut’ab to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 03:25.
Attack
  • At 15:10, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Huwar area located at the north entrance of Halhoul opened fire towards 2 children for the alleged throwing of a Molotov cocktail firebomb towards a Israeli vehicle travelling near the area and as a result killed a child and injured Wajdi Yusef Atiya Al-Bo (17 years old) and detained him.
Killings
  • Israeli forces opened fire towards and killed Haytham Ismail Atiya Al-Bo (15 years old) {A resident of Halhoul}.
Detention
  • Israeli forces detained Wajdi Yusef Atiya Al-Bo (17 years old) {A resident of Halhoul}.
House Demolition
  • On February 5th 2016, Israeli forces stormed Beit Amra village and served a military order for the demolition of the family home of Murad Id’is {A Palestinian Detainee} and gave them until February 19th 2016 to oppose the order
Settlers Violence
  • At 09:45, Israeli settler stormed Beit Amra village and  attacked residents property during which they withdrew under the protection of the Israeli Military.
GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  • At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  • Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards North Gaza,  Gaza, Central Gaza and Khan Yunis and as a result injured 8 residents.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Beit Hanun (Erez) is Beit Hanun (Erez) open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
Attack
  • At 15:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents in the vicinity of Beit Hanun (Erez) Crossing point as they were participating in demonstration protesting against the continues Israeli Military and settler assault on Al-Aqsa mosque compound and as a result injured a resident.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  • Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
Attack
  • At 09:50, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several farmers in east Gaza city.
  • At 16:05, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line fired live ammunition stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents located in the vicinity of  Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing in east Gaza fired tear gas grenades towards several residents   in North Beit Lahiya Jabaliya as they were protesting the Israeli Military and settler assault on Al-Aqsa mosque compound and as a result  injured  5residents.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack
  • At 14:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents in east Al-Buriej camp as they were protesting against Israeli assault on Al-Aqsa mosque compound and against Palestinian citizens and as a result injured 2 residents as well as leaving several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack
  • At 14:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents in east Al-Farahin area located in east Abbasan Al-Kabira as they were protesting against Israeli assault on Al-Aqsa mosque compound and against Palestinian citizens.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  • Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  • Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
  • Sufa Crossing is closed
  • Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is closed.
