WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  1. On February 1st 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  3. The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
Closure of Checkpoints
  1. Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  2. On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
  3. At 10:00, Israeli forces intensified their restriction at Jaba’ checkpoint {located along the main road connecting Jerusalem, Ramallah and Jericho} and impeded the free flow of traffic.
  4. At 10:30, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Shu’fat checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Raid
  1. At dawn on February 1st 2016, Israeli forces raided Anata and detained a resident.
  2. At 01:45, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya, clashed with several residents as they stormed several homes and detained 9 residents including 2 children.
  3. At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Duqu village and stormed the family home of Mohammad Mahmoud Rayan (A Palestinian Detainee).
Attack
  1. At 17:40, Israeli forces positioned at Al-Ram junction fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result injured Nassar Ali Al-Basati (13 years old).
  2. At 18:00, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Jabal area junction in Abu Dis fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  1. Israeli forces detained Sa’id Ahmad Mohammad Hassan Hilweh in Anata.
  2. Israeli forces detained 9 residents: Asharf Mohammad Mustafa Al-Yassini (15 years old), Mustafa Hani Al-Yassini (15 years old), Mohammad Ahmad Mahmoud Al-Makhoul, Mohammad Yazzid Ibrahim Hamdan, Marwan Ma’rouf Basa, Aboud Hisham Shatara, Ameer Hassan Shatara, Nayef Ahmad Al –Khatib and Ali Rabi’ Far’oun in Al-Eizariya.
House Demolition
  • At 19:00, Israeli forces stormed Qalandiya camp and served Military orders for the demolition of 4 homes owned by the families of: Wissam Abu Gholiya, Annan Abu Hasbah , Issa Assi and Hassan Abu Ghoush.
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  • At 10:00, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  2. The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
  2. On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.
  3. At 19:35 on January 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed Shuqba village with dirt mounds.
  4. On January 27th 2015, Israeli forces closed Beit Ur Al-Tahta village junction which leads to road (443) with cement blocks.
Raid
  1. At 11:55, Israeli forces raided Abboud, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 12:05.
  2. At 01:35, Israeli forces raided Al-Jalazoun camp, detained a resident then withdrew at 06:30.
  3. At 05:15, Israeli forces raided Kafr Ni’meh village, detained 2 residents, temporarily detained 2 residents: Nader Salah Ismail (A National Security Force officer) and Yusef Mohammad Attiyeh and released them at  a later time then withdrew at 06:30.
Detention
  1. Israeli forces detained Mohammad Abu Assab in Al-Jalazoun camp.
  2. Israeli forces detained Mohammad Ahamd Mahmoud Ishtayeh and Firas Abdel-Jaber Firas Ishtayeh in Kafr Ni’meh village.

JENIN

Closure (per District)
  • On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
  2. Since the evening of November 25th 2012, Israeli forces closed the western entrance of Ya’bad.
Closure of Wall Gates
  • Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  • At 08:30, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 11:05.
Flying Checkpoints
  • At 19:30, Israeli force set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Baqa Al-Sharqiya then searched residents and vehicle until 20:30.
Raid
  1. At dawn on February 1st 2016, Israeli forces raided Shwikiya neighbourhood in Tulkarem and detained 2 residents.
  2. At 08:20, Israeli forces raided Kafr Al-Jamal village until 09:15.
  3. At 00:45, Israeli forces raided Sayda village, stormed several homes, detained a residents and confiscated 2000 NIS from the home of Maher Mohammad Al-Ashqar then withdrew at 01:40
Detention
  1. Israeli forces detained Salah Matlaq Rajabi Ballona and Ahmad Matlaq Rajabi Ballona in Shwikiya neighbourhood in Tulkarem.
  2. Israeli forces raided Suhayeb Maher Mohammad Al-Ashqar. In Sayda village.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  1. Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  2. Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 10:45, Israeli force set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles.
  2. At 14:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Azzun village bridge {located along the main road connecting Qalqiliya and Tulkarem} then searched residents and vehicles.
  3. At 10:45, Israeli force set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles.
  4. At 14:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Azzun village bridge {located along the main road connecting Qalqiliya and Tulkarem} then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  • At 19:30, Israeli forces raided Qalqiliya city and detained a resident.
Detention
  1. At 22:50, Israeli forces detained 3 residents including a child: Jihad Yusef Mohammad Abu Saleem (17 years old), Nidal Yusef Mohammad Abu Saleem {Both residents of Balata camp in Nablus} and Muheeb Othman Odeh {A resident of Ras Atiyeh village in Qalqiliya}.

Closure of Wall Gates
  1. The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  2. The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(iii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iv) On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
(v) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
(vi) At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
(vii) At 09:00 on February 1st 2016, Israeli forces closed the steel gate {south} entrance of Jamma’in village and closed the main road connecting.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 21:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Sarah village junction, detained a resident, and temporarily detained 3 residents: Nihad Ismail Abu Assab, Tariq Mohammad Faraj and Ayman Na’im Mohammad Ra’ouf Waleel.
(ii) At 22:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at “Yitsahar” settlement junction located in North Huwara then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 15:40, Israeli forces raided Deir Al-Hatab and clashed with several residents.
(ii) At 18:20, Israeli forces raided Salem village until 19:00.
(iii) At 22:45, Israeli forces raided Qabalan and opened fire towards a vehicle then detained 3 residents {2 injured} inside the vehicle then withdrew at 23:40.
(iv) At 01:50, Israeli forces raided Jama’in, stormed the family home of: Amjad Abu Amr {who was killed by Israeli forces} and took measurement of the home to prepare it for demolition.
(v) At 01:55, Israeli forces raided Beit Furiq, stormed 6 homes, detained a resident then withdrew at 05:15.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Melhem {A resident of Qalqiliya} at Sarah village junction.
(ii) Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Samer Hussien Abdel-Latif Aqra’ {injured}, Yusef Izzat Sahrouj {injured} abd Hassan Abdel-Latif Aqra in Qabalan.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 13:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Yasuf village then searched residents and vehicles until 14:30.
(ii) At 16:50, Israeli force set up a checkpoint near Harris village, temporarily detained Ehab Ayman Daoud {A resident of Harris village} and released him at a later time then withdrew at 17:45.

Temporary Detention

Israeli forces mporarily detained Ehab Ayman Daoud {A resident of Harris village} and released him at a later time.

At 10:10, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara checkpoint junction temporarily detained 2 Presidential Security force Officers: Wajdy Azam Ziyadeh Daraghmeh and Alaa Abdel-Qadder Abu Sa’da then released them at 10:40.

Raid

At 01:25, Israeli forces raided Kafr Al-Dik, detained 2 residents then withdrew at 05:00.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Rateb Mustafa Salman Al-Dik and Raed Hakeem Amr Ali Ahmad in Kafr Al-Dik.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 11:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Oja village junction then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 15:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the Dead Sea junction then searched residents and vehicles until 17:00.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Al-Thahiriya and Al-Samoa’ towns, Al-‘Arrub refugee camp, and Al-Tuwani and Al-Karmil villages.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
(iv) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.
(v) At 05:50 on November 5th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance leading Farsh Al-Hawa area in Hebron with Cement blocks.
(vi) At 10:30 on November 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the junction located near “Hagi” settlement located in south Hebron with cement blocks.
(vii) At 21:00 on November 11th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Beit Awwa and Al-Majd village with cement block and dirt mounds.
(viii) On December 9th 2015, Israeli forces closed a road near Jabal Jallis area located in the old city of Hebron and closed the bypass road.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 19:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Khursa village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 22:30.
(ii) At 20:35, Israeli force set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Samou then searched residents and vehicles until 23:20.

Raid

(i) At dawn on February 1st 2016, Israeli forces raided Beit Awwa, detained 2 children and summoned Sameer Masalmeh to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
(ii) At dawn on February 1st 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Aroub camp and detained a resident.

Detention

(i) At 13:50, Israeli forces positioned at Beit Anoun village junction detained the child Qusay Maher Ismail Halayqa (17 years old) {A resident of Al-Shiyoukh} for allegedly finding a knife in his possession.
(ii) At 18:40, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Karam Fakhri Masawdeh and Shawqi Fakhri Masawdeh near Al-Ibrahimi mosque in the old city of Hebron.
(iii) Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Mahmoud Qassem Mohammad Masalmeh (17 years old) and Jibril Hassan Masalmeh (16 years old) in Beit Awwa.
(iv) Israeli forces detained Diya Hussien Ziyad Husniyah in Al-Aroub camp.

House Demolition

At 20:00, Israeli forces stormed Al-Karmil village located in south east Yatta and served a military order for the demolition of the family home of Ruqaya Abu Tabikh

Settlers Violence

At 23:40, a group of Israeli settlers from “Kiryat Arba” settlement located in east area of the old city of Hebron assaulted Raghed Mohammad Rasmi Al-Haddad {A resident of Hebron} leaving her hospitalised.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(iv) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(v) At 13:45 on January 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Nihalin village with a steel gate.
(vi) At 20:00 on January 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Jinata with earth mounds.

Raid

(i) At dawn on February 1st 2016, Israeli forces raided Ayda camp in Bethlehem and detained a resident after storming his home.
(ii) At 22:10, Israeli forces raided Taqou’ until 00:45.
(iii) At 02:45, Israeli forces raided Al-Khadr, detained 3 residents including a child then withdrew at 03:45.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained Mohammad Taysir Mahmoud Al-Mashiekh in Ayda camp.
(ii) Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Billal Mohammad Abdel-Salam Salah (15 years old), Mansour Shihadeh Salah and Khalil Khaled Salah in Al-Khader.

GAZA STRIP

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

At 20:50, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

• Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
• Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack

(i) At 22:00, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Nussayrat camp.
(ii) At 22:10, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Deir Al-Balah.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
(iv) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA
