WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure
  1. On February 18th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
  3. The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint. 
  3. On November 16th 2015, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem which leads to “Armon Hantsiv” settlement with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  1. Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
  2. On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu’fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
  3. At 19:00, Israeli forces closed Jaba’ checkpoint  located along the main road connecting Jerusalem, Ramallah and Jericho then impeded the free flow of traffic and reopened it at a later time.

  1. At 17:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Bir Nabala then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  1. At 10:00, Israeli forces raided Qutna village and detained a resident.
  2. At 04:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya.
Attack
  1. At 18:30, Israeli forces positioned Al-Jabal area located Abu Dis fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.
Detention
  1. At dawn on February 17th 2016, Israeli forces detained Suhayeb Hussien Far’oun, confiscated 100 Cellular telephones and 3 computers during their raid in Al-Eizariya.
  2. At 16:50, Israeli forces detained 2 children: Ayham Bassam Ibrahim Sabah (14 years old) and Omar Saleem Mahmoud Taha (14 years old){both residents of Beituniya} after opening fire towards them for allegedly attempting to stab 2 Israeli settlers in “Rami Levi” Shopping Centre located in Mukhmas village{As alleged by the Israeli Military}.
  3. Israeli forces detained Ziyad Abdel-Salam Taha in Qutna village.
Confiscation of Property
  • 100 Cellular telephones and 3 computers .
Obstruction of Places of Worship
  1. At 09:00, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
Closure of Wall Gates
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
  2. The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages and in Deir Ibzi’ village with dirt mounds.
  2. On December 15th 2015, Israeli forces closed the West entrance of Al-Labban Al-Gharbi village with cement blocks.
  3. At 09:20 on February 9th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Shuqba and Shbatin villages with cement blocks and also installed a steel gate in the area.
  4. At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire towards Bet El settlement as alleged by the Israeli Military
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 11:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Turmus’aya then searched residents and vehicles until 13:00.
  2. At 12:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Khirbathat Bani Harith and Bil’in villages then searched residents and vehicles until 15:20.
  3. At 19:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Beitin and Ein Yabroud village then searched residents and vehicles until 21:30.
Raid
  1. At 16:30, Israeli forces raided Beitin village, forced store owners to close down their shops and imposed a curfew on the residents of the area as they stormed and searched several homes, detained 3 residents and withdrew at 19:15.
  2. At 21:55, Israeli forces raided Silwad until 21:20.
  3. At 21:55, Israeli forces raided Khirbithat Al-Misbah village and clashed with several residents then withdrew at 22:15.
  4. At 03:35, Israeli forces raided Beituniya, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes then withdrew at 05:45.
  5. At 05:20, Israeli forces raided Al-Jalazoun camp, clashed with several residents as they stormed a home and as a result injured 2 residents: Mohammad Fareed Al-Shiekh Yusef and Mohammad Eyad Mohammad Taha and detained a child then withdrew at 05:40.
Detention
  1. Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Mohammad Samir Mahfouth , Murad Ahmad Afoul and Mohammad Ahmad Afoul {All residents of Burqa village in Ramallah} near Beitin.
  2. Israeli forces detained the child: Ahmad Ayoub Obada (16 years old) in Al-Jalazoun camp.

JENIN

Closure
  1. On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area  {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area  and declared the area a closed military zone.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.
  2. Since the evening of November 25th 2012, Israeli forces closed the western entrance of Ya’bad.
Raid
  1. At 08:55, Israeli forces raided Al-Arqa village.
  2. At 14:05, Israeli forces raided Turat Al-Sharqiya village until 16:35.
  3. At 16:00, Israeli forces raided Markah village.
  4. At 02:15, Israeli forces raided Qabatiya village and detained 3 residents including a child.
Detention
  1. Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Ma’moun Ahmad Saba’neh (17 years old), Mustafa Ahmad Saba’neh and Abdallah Hassan Abu Arour in Qabatiya village.

TUBAS

Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 15:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near the entrance of Al-Far’a village then searched residents and vehicles until 16:30.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints
  1. Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 18:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Al-Ras village then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  1. At dawn on February 18th 2016, Israeli forces raided Deir Al-Ghusoun and detained a Security Force officer.
Detention
  1. At 02:40 on February 18th 2016, Israeli forces detained Alaa Mazen Ziyadna during their raid into Tulkarem in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.
  2. Israeli forces detained Mohammad Falah Abu Zaytoun in Deir Al-Ghosoun.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads
  1. Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
  2. In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
  3. Since 16:55 on December 18th 2014, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with dirt mounds
  4. Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.
Raid
  1. At 11:05, Israeli forces raided Hajja and Bawqat Al-Hatab villages, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 14:20.
Closure of Wall Gates

  2. The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
  3. The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate

NABLUS

Closure
  1. Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
  3. At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
  4. On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
  5. At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
  6. At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.
  7. At 09:00 on February 1st 2016, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Jama’in with a steel gate and closed the main road connecting Jama’in and Zieta Jama’in village with earth mounds.
Military Checkpoints
  1. 20:50, Israeli forces closed Huwara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic travelling from Nablus and then redirected traffic through Awarta village until 23:00.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 09:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near “Shave Shamron” settlement then searched residents and vehicles until 10:35.
  2. At 09:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Sarah village junction located along the main road connecting Nablus and Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles until 11:00.
  3. At 15:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Tel and Sarah villages then searched residents and vehicle until 16:10
Raid
  1. At 15:10, Israeli forces raided Ithna village.
  2. At 16:10, Israeli forces raided Sarah village until 17:00.
Settlers Violence
  1. At 15:30, Israeli settlers from “Shilo” settlement stormed agricultural land in Jallud village and up rooted 30 Olive trees owned by Mohammad Abdel-Azziz Mohammad.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
  2. On 15.04.2012, the Israeli army has opened the northern entrance to Salfit city to civilian which was closed since the year 2000 and prevented access from 08:00 until 09:20.
  3. Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.
Military Checkpoints
  1. Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints
  1. At 16:40, Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.
Flying Checkpoints
  1. At 15:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Al-Oja village junction located along Al-Mu’arajat road which connects Jericho and Ramallah then searched residents and vehicles.
Raid
  1. At 18:00, Israeli forces raided Jericho, clashed with several residents  then withdrew at 20:15.
Detention
  1. At 21:35, Israeli forces positioned at Allenby Bridge detained Ameen Ghassan Abu Al-Tein (A resident of Jenin) as he was returning from Jordan.

BETHLEHEM

Closure
  1. The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
  2. Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala  ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to  Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
  2. The Israeli army continues to close the road leading to “Newe Daniyyel” settlement and agricultural land in Al-Khader; a road between  Um Tuba and Wadi Al-Hums: Wadi Fukin, Al-Jaba, the Green Line; a road between Za’tara and a detour road, and a road between Taqou and Khirbet Al-Deir with cement blocks.
  3. Since August 2nd 2012, Israeli forces closed a road leading to Beit Jalla.
  4. Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
  5. Since June 3rd 2013, the Israeli army closed the road connecting Nihalin and road 60 with dirt mounds.
  6. Since 13:20 on September 29th 2013, the Israeli army closed a road leading to 50 acres of agricultural land in Wadi Salem area in Al-Khadr with dirt mounds.
  7.  Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Surif and Al-Jub’a village with dirt mounds.
  8. On January 28th 2014, Israeli forces closed the steel gate at the entrance of Nihalin { replacing the dirt mounds placed at the entrance since the year 2002} and placed time schedule for opening the gate from 06:00 until 14:00 on a daily bases.
  9. Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
  10. At 14:50 on November 28th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Um Al-Raqaba area located in Al-Khader with cement blocks.
  11. At 13:45 on January 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed the south entrance of Nihalin village with a steel gate.
  12. At 20:00 on January 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Jinata with earth mounds.
  13. At 15:45 on February 17th 2016 Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Taqou’ and Harmalah village with Cement blocks.
Raid
  1. At 22:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Khadr, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 23:30.
  2. At 01:10, Israeli forces raided Al-Obidiya then stormed and searched a home.
  3. At 02:45, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem, clashed with several residents as they stormed an Orphanage association and confiscated a computer then withdrew at 03:20.

Physical Assault
  1. 07:20 on February 18th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at Checkpoint (300) located in North Bethlehem assaulted Aysar Shalladeh and as a result left him hospitalised with a fractured arm.

HEBRON

Closure
  1. The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
  2. Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.
Closure of main Roads
  1. The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Al-Thahiriya and Al-Samoa’ towns, Al-‘Arrub refugee camp, and Al-Tuwani and Al-Karmil villages. 
  2. The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
  3. The Israeli army continues to close all roads leading to Road # 60 as well as detour roads along the settler bypass road leading to Yatta town.
  4. The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds a detour road leading to e to Al-Simiya village, the southern entrance of Al-Samou’ and the entrance of Beit Annun with cement blocks.
  5. At 05:50 on November 5th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance leading Farsh Al-Hawa area in Hebron with Cement blocks.
  6. At 10:30 on November 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the junction located near “Hagi” settlement located in south Hebron with cement blocks.
  7. At 21:00 on November 11th 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Beit Awwa and Al-Majd village with cement block and dirt mounds.
Detention
  1. At 10:45, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Ibrahimi mosque located in the old city of Hebron detained Enas Al-Ja’bari (A resident of Hebron) for allegedly finding a knife in her possession.
  2. At 20:55, Israeli forces detained the child Waleed Mohammad Jabr (10 years old) after storming his home in the old city of Hebron.
GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

  1. At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
  2. Israeli forces broke the ceasefire agreement by raiding Khan Yunis.
  3. Israeli forces broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Central Gaza.
  4. Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores North Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  1. Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businessmen and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
Attack
  1. At 00:30 on February 19th 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in west Beit Lahiya.
Detention
  1. On February 11th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing point detained Fawaz Sa’ed Qandeel (A merchant){A resident of Gaza city}.
  2. On February 11th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing point detained Mohammad Ahmad Al-Bashti (A merchant){A resident of Khan Yunis.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points
  1. Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
  2. Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack
  1. At 13:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in Al-Maghazi camp.

KHAN YUNIS

Raid

At 07:15 on February 18th 2016, Israeli forces escorting Military bulldozers stormed 100m into the vicinity of east Al-Qarrara town and opened fire as they levelled a plot of agricultural land  then withdrew at 17:30.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points
  1. Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
  2. Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
  3. Sufa Crossing is closed
  4. Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing open for the entry of tourist and foreign diplomats and the entry of Humanitarian assistance and construction material funded by UNRWA.
