Daily Report April 26, 2016

(i) On April 24th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

At 08:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hizma village then searched residents and vehicles.

(i) At 17:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Eizariya and Abu Dis towns.
(ii) At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Biddu town, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 03:00.

On April 24th 2016, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Jamal Idris in Beit Hanina town.

At 08:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.

(i) At 09:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Ur At Tahta village then searched residents and vehicles until 13:30
(ii) At 20:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of An Nabi Saleh village and detained a University Professor.

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.

At 09:35, Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 10:50.

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

(i) At 08:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun then searched residents and vehicles until 08:40.
(ii) At 08:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Jit village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 09:20.

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
(iv) Since 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.

(i) At 09:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Deir Sharaf village junction (along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus)then searched residents and vehicles until 11:00.
(ii) At 20:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Deir Sharaf junction then searched residents and vehicles until 21:00.
(iii) At 21:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Assira Al-Shamaliya junction then searched residents and vehicles until 22:00.
(iv) At 22:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Iraq Burin and Tel villages then searched residents and vehicles until 23:15.
(v) At 23:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Beit Furiq and Beit Dajjan towns then searched residents and vehicles until 01:00

At 07:30 on April 25th 2016, Israeli forces raided Sabustiya village as they escorted a group of Israeli settlers who stormed archaeological sites in the area and again at 00:30 raided the area and clashed with several residents then withdrew at 01:05.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(iv) At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
(v) On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main entrance gate leading to Um Al-Rakaba area in Al-Khader.
(vi) At 22:40 on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed all entrances of Beit Fajjar town and prevented residents from entering or exiting the town.
(vii) At 12:25 on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the north entrance of Marah Rabah village which leads to Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.

(i) At 09:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Taqou’ then searched residents and vehicles until 11:05.
(ii) At 15:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Al-Khader town hen searched residents and vehicles until 16:50.
(iii) At 19:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Al-Sharafa area located along the main road leading to Bettar village, temporarily detained Mahmoud Khaled Abu Hadid, Wajeeh Zuhier Abdel-Fattah Awad and Ma’moun Hussien Al-Laham then released them at 19:50

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

(i) At 09:20, Israeli forces set up 3 checkpoints at the entrance of Ithna town, in the area between Yatta and Al-Samou’ towns and Al-Fuwar junction then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 18:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Yatta and Al-Samou’ towns then searched residents and vehicles.

At 14:50, Israeli forces raided Al-Karmil village located in south east Yatta town as they escorted a group of Israeli settlers who stormed Al-Barakah area

At 02:20, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Munir Yusef Ismail Al-Til and Mohammad Yusef Ismail Al-Til during their raid into Al-Thahriya town in addition to those mentioned in the Previous report.

At 10:00, Israeli forces stormed Abu Al-Rish area located in the old city of Hebron and occupied 3 homes and converted their rooftops into Military posts.

On the evening of April 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed Al-Ibrahimi mosque compound in the old city of Hebron thus preventing worshipers from conducting prayers inside the mosque in order to allow a group of Israeli settlers to conduct Talmudic rituals inside the mosque.

(i) At 14:55, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near a checkpoint located near the entrance of Al-Shuhada road in the old city of Hebron assaulted Firas Al-Sharawi and as a result left him hospitalised with contusions.
(ii) At 21:20, a group of Israeli settlers stormed the area located between Tafuh and Dura towns then withdrew at a later time.

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
