Daily Report April 24, 2016

(i) Since April 21st 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound until24:0 on April 23rd 2016.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

At 15:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hizma village then searched residents and vehicles.

At 21:30, Israeli forces raided Hizma village until 22:50.

At dawn on April 24th 2016, Israeli forces detained Ahmad Al-Kiswani after storming his home in the old city of Jerusalem.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.

At 13:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Arrabah village junction then searched residents and vehicles.

At 22:40, Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 23:10

(i) At 09:30, Israeli forces raided Rammin village until 11:40.
(ii) At 21:05, Israeli forces raided Safarin village, stormed 2 homes and inspected surveillance camera footage tapes at the homes then withdrew at 21:35.
(iii) At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Anabta town.

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Baqat Al-Hatab village, clashed with several residents as they stormed a home, detained a resident and confiscated his vehicle then withdrew at 02:00.

At 18:30, a demonstration took place in Kafr Qaddum against the closure of the east entrance during which they clashed with Israeli forces tried to disrupt the demonstration by firing live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards demonstrators who attempted to reach they demonstration site as a result injured Mohammad Abdel-Fattah Amer and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
(iv) Since 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.

At 13:00, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Huawara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic and at 19:50 closed the checkpoint then reopened it at a later time.

At 19:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near “Yitzahar” settlement junction located in North Huwara then searched residents and vehicles.

At 02:45, Israeli forces raided Beita town until 03:00.

On April 23rd 2016, Israeli forces stormed Jallud village in Nablus district and served a military order for the confiscation of a plot of land for the paving of a Settlement road {approximately 5.420 km long and 50 m wide} from “Shilo” settlement junction passing through land in Turmus’aya town, Al-Mughier village and Jalloud village leading to a bypass road near “Alon” settlement located in east Duma village in Nablus district.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

At 11:05, Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

At 08:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho then searched residents and vehicles until 09:10.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(iv) At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
(v) On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main entrance gate leading to Um Al-Rakaba area in Al-Khader.
(vi) At 22:40 on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed all entrances of Beit Fajjar town and prevented residents from entering or exiting the town.
(vii) At 12:25 on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the north entrance of Marah Rabah village which leads to Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.

(i) At 13:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Aqbat Hassnah area located near the entrance of Husan village then searched residents and vehicles until 16:30.
(ii) At 16:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Jallah then searched residents and vehicles.

(i) At 00:25, Israeli forces raided Za’tara town, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 01:05.
(ii) At 01:45, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar, stormed several homes, detained a resident and temporarily detained Yusef Wajih Thawabteh then released him after summoning him to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 05:15.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighborhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.
(iv) At 14:30 on April 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main entrance road leading to Al-Aroub camp with dirt mounds.

Beit Hanun (Erez) is closed with the exception of Emergency medical cases.

At 07:40 on April 24th 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores North West Beit Lahiya town and detained 2 fishermen including a child and confiscated their fishing boat.
