DAILY SITUATION REPORT
08:00, 7th January 2020 – 08:00, 8th January 2020
At dawn on January 8th 2020, Israeli forces raided Abu Dis town and detained 2 residents.
1. At 09:00, Israeli forces positioned at a gate entrance leading to Al-Aqsa mosque compound detained Soliman Subhi Abu Maliya {a mosque security guard} as he was attempting to prevent several Israeli settlers from steeling stones and dirt from the east area of the compound.
2. At 15:00, Israeli forces positioned near Bab Al-Rahma prayer area in Al-Aqsa mosque compound detained 2 residents: Mohammad Abu Shushat and Habib Abu Shushat.
3. At 20:00, Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Ehab Sakafi, Nur Abdel-Rahman Ghayth, Salah Al-Din Shukri Abu Assab in Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city.
4. At 20:30, Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Yusef Abu Shushat, Abdallah Abu Shushat and Yazan Darbas in Al-Tur neighborhood in Jerusalem city.
5. Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Mohammad Waleed Muhisien and Jawad Hassan Nawafat in Abu Dis town.
At 08:30,a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers.
At 09:15,Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near "Halamish" settlement roundabout then searched residents and vehicles.
1. At 03:15, Israeli forces raided Atara town and detained a resident.
2. At 04:45, Israeli forces raided Beit Rima town and detained a resident.
1. Israeli forces detained Jihad Hassan Abdallah Dahahat in Atarat town.
2. Israeli forces detained Akram Muneer Harb Irhimi in Beit Rima town.
At 13:15,Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Enav military checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 15:15.
At 21:20, Israeli forces raided Allar town until 02:05.
At 04:15 on January 7th 2020, Israeli forces detained Janan Wahdan during their raid into Qalqiliya city {as mentioned in the previous report}.
At 18:30, Israeli forces positioned near the west entrance of Azzun town fired stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning.
1. On January 7th 2020, Israeli forces raided Sabastiya village and stormed archaeological sites.
2. At 03:15, Israeli forces raided Qabalan town, detained a resident then withdrew at 04:45.
Israeli forces detained Mohammad Issa Al-Amalat in Qabalan town.
At 11:25 and again at 23:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the North entrance of Salfit city then searched residents and vehicles.
At 08:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the North entrance of Jericho city then searched residents and vehicles.
At 00:25, Israeli forces raided Aqbat Jabr camp in Jericho city, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes and as a result injured 6 residents then withdrew at 04:45.
At 00:25, Israeli forces fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning as they stormed and searched 3 homes during their raid into Aqbat Jabr camp in Jericho city and as a result injured 6 residents.
Israeli forces injured 6 residents {of those identified}: Ahmad Hajaj and Ayoub Assi Damrat during clashes in Aqbat Jabr camp in Jericho city.
At 17:15,Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Container military checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.
At 12:40,Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in Aqbat Hasna area {located along the main road leading to the west villages of Bethlehem district} then searched residents and vehicles until 17:45.
At 02:55, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar town, detained 3 residents then withdrew at 03:55.
Israeli forces detained Mohammad Ahmad Dariyat, Mohammad Issa Thawabta and Daoud Issa Thawabta in Beit Fajjar town.
1. At 11:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Hebron city then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 12:40 and again at 22:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Halhul town bridge and detained 2 residents.
1.On the evening of January 7th 2020, Israeli forces raided Al-Tuwani village located in east Yatta town, served military orders for the demolition of 4 homes owned by Mufdi Ahmad Rubai, Fadel Ahmad Rubai, Khader Suleiman Al-Amour and Ahmad Mahmoud Hamamda for allegdly being built with out licenses.
2. At 06:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Awwa town and detained a resident.
3. At dawn on January 8th 2020, Israeli forces raided Ithna town then stormed and searched 2 homes.
4.At dawn on January 8th 2020, Israeli forces raided Al-Arrub camp and detained a resident.
1. Israeli forces positioned at a flying checkpoint located along Halhul town bridge detained 2 residents: Moayad, a student of Makhamra, and Ahmed Youssef Melhem.
2. Israeli forces detained Bassim Mohammad Ismail Masalmat in Beit Awwa town.
3. Israeli forces detained Omar Ahmad Hadoush in Al-Arrub camp.
On January 7th 2020, Israeli forces leveled 50 dunums of agricultural land located near "Kiryat Araba" settlement located in east Hebron city
• At 19:00 on August 26th 2019,The permanent and comprehensive cease-fire entered into force on the initiative and sponsorship of the Arab Republic of Egypt, after reaching understandings to open the crossings, introduce humanitarian and relief assistance and reconstruction supplies, expand the fishing area for 6 miles, Up to 12 miles by the end of the current year, reducing the area of the buffer zone from 300 m to 100 m, freedom of movement and preventing assassinations. The other issues, including the airport and the port, will be negotiated within one month of the cease-fire.
On the morning of 28 June 2019, the Israeli occupation forces allowed the expansion of the sea fishing area in the north of the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip and up to 6 nautical miles from the port of Gaza and from the port of Gaza to the south of Rafah until 15 nautical miles.
•Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Central Gaza and Khan Yunis districts.
* Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing is partially open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
* Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
* Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
1. At 07:30 on January 7th 2020,Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Maghazi camp.
2. At 10:30 on January 7th 2020,Israeli forces opened fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards agricultural land in east Deir Al-Balah city.
3. At 20:20 on January 7th 2020,Israeli forces opened fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards agricultural land in east Deir Al-Balah city.
1. At 07:50 on January 7th 2020,Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Al-Qarara town located in east Khan Yunis city.
2. At 10:30 on January 7th 2020,Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards several residents near the border fence in east Khuza'a town located in east Khan Yunis city.
* Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
*Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed.
* Sufa Crossing is closed.
* Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is partially open for the entrance of Humanitarian aid, limited supplies of Diesel fuel and construction material for Internationally funded projects.
