The international community must act swiftly to halt Israel's escalation before it is too late
We urgently call upon you to intervene and to immediately put an end to the current round of Israeli collective punishment and terror attacks against the people of Palestine. We call upon the international community not to turn a blind eye to Israel’s exploitation of the incident involving the killing of three Israelis, and to immediately act in order to prevent the consequences that this new Israeli wave of aggression will bring for regional peace and security.
Just over the past few hours, Israeli forces and armed settlers have terrorized thousands of Palestinians, especially in and around the districts of Hebron and East Jerusalem. Mohammad Abu Khdeir, a 16 year old boy from Shuafat neighbourhood, was abducted, killed and his body burnt.
We call on the United Nations to conduct an ocial investigation of what happened to Mohammed. Criminals should be prosecuted. eir crimes should not be tolerated in any way, shape or form. is heinous crime is the result of years of impunity granted by the State of Israel to its soldiers and settlers in their daily crimes against the Palestinian people.
We also condemn the attack against Palestine TV’s crew in Occupied East Jerusalem, including correspondent Ms. Christine Rinawi and cameraman Mr. Ali Yassin. is is the latest of a wave of Israeli attacks against Palestinian and international media outlets working in Palestine, including the raids against Palmedia, TransMedia and Turbo, the editors of is Week in Palestine Magazine.
Israel’s military bombardment of Gaza, the killings, injuries and the statements by Israeli ministers advocating for revenge through aggression and further illegal settlement building are fuelling a very dangerous situation. e international community must act swily to halt Israel's escalation before it is too late.
