WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure

(i) On May 31st 2016, The Israeli army intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

Military Checkpoints

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city and at 00:15 , Israeli forces closed the checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic then reopened it at a later time.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

At 00:15 , Israeli forces closed Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point and impeded the free flow of traffic then reopened it at a later time.

Raid

At 01:50, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram town.

Attack

At 18:00, Israeli forces positioned near the Wall gate in Qatana village fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning and as a result set fire to and destroyed several Olive tree after a tear gas grenades canister exploded near agricultural land in the area during which Palestinian Civil defence forces were able to extinguish the fire.

Destruction of Property

Israeli forces set fire to and destroyed several Olive tree after a tear gas grenades canister exploded near agricultural land in near the Wall gate in Qatana village.

Detention

(i) At 21:40, Israeli forces detained Anas Wahdan {A resident of Qalandiya camp}as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on prior summon.
(ii) At 00:20, Israeli forces detained Ameer Al-Balbisi after storming and searching his home in Al-Sunah neighbourhood in Jerusalem city.
(iii) At 01:00, Israeli forces detained the child Mohammad Ismail Abu Ghanam (16 years old) after storming and searching his home in Al-Tur neighbourhood.

Deportation

At 21:15, Israeli forces prevented Na’imah Al-Qarawi from entering Al-Aqsa mosque compound in then old city of Jerusalem for a period of 1 week {7 days} in addition to placing her under house arrest and imposing a financial penalty amounting to 500 NIS.

Assaults on Property

At 22:35, Israeli authorities prevented the construction of Bath rooms and ablution rooms located outside the gates of Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

(i) At 09:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.
(ii) At 10:00, The Israeli Police chief and 11 Israeli Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) Since 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement block.

Raid

(i) At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Silwad town.
(ii) At 03:45, Israeli forces raided Al-Jalazoun camp until 05:00.

JENIN

Closure

Since December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of Roads

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan

Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue to close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of main Roads

Since 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with cement blocks.

Military Checkpoints

At 07:45on May 31st 2016, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Tayasir checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

(i) At 03:00, Israeli forces raided Tubas city, detained 3 residents including a child and confiscated 5 Cellular telephones.
(ii) At 03:00, Israeli forces raided Tammoun town and detained a resident

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and imped the free flow of traffic.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate

Raid

(i) At 22:45, Israeli forces raided Qalqiliya city, clashed with several residents and as a result injured 2 residents detained a resident then withdrew at 01:10.
(ii) At 00:25, Israeli forces raided Jit village then stormed and searched 2 homes.
(iii) At 01:50, Israeli forces raided Azzun town.

Injuries

Israeli forces injured 2 residents during confrontations in Qalqilya city.

Detention

(i) At 03:30 on May 31st 2016, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Mahmoud Hussni Irmilat during their raid into Qalqiliya city in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Ammar Yusef Dweikat in Qalqiliya city.

Settlers Violence

At 11:00, Israeli settlers positioned near “Qadum.im” settlement stoned residents and vehicles travelling along the main road connecting Qalqiliya and Nablus then withdrew at 15:35.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 09:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Beita town junction then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 19:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jama’in town and detained a resident.

Raid

At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Nablus city as they escorted a group of Israeli settlers which included the Israeli minister of internal security, stormed Joseph’s tomb then withdrew at 04:25.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Mus’ab Ibrahim Mohammad Sabah {A resident of Orif village}.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Military Checkpoints

At 21:10, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 21:45.

Flying Checkpoints

At 13:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the North entrance of Salfit city then searched resident and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 10:30, Israeli forces raided Deir Istiya town until 10:45.
(ii) At 16:10, Israeli forces raided Bruqin town until 20:30.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 10:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along road (90) near Al-New’meh village junction located at the North entrance of Jericho city then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 21:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho city then searched residents and vehicles until 21:45.

Temporary Detention

At 22:00, Israeli forces positioned at Allenby bridge temporarily detained Marah Abdel-Raheem Mahmoud (A resident of Ramallah city) as he was returning from Jordan then released him at a later time.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.

Flying Checkpoints

At 19:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Al-Khader town then searched residents and vehicles until 19:50

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Raid

(i) At 23:00, Israeli forces raided Nabi Na’im town then stormed and searched a home.
(ii) At 04:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Shiyoukh town, stormed a home and summoned Fawzi Mmohammad Yassin Ayadeh to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
(iii) At 05:00, Israeli forces raided Hebron and detained 5 residents.

Detention

(i) At 22:00, Israeli forces detained Wael Mohammad Taha Tarerah {A resident of Bani Na’im town} as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
(ii) Israeli forces detained 5 residents: Baha Wael Zahada, Wael Al-Beitar, Rami Mohammad Hussein Ziyadah, Abde Al-Ma’az Foad Abu Khalaf and Ahmad Abu Al-Shareef in Hebron city.

Temporary Detention

At 20:30, Israeli forces temporarily detained Waseem Ibrahim Jameel Sabarnah {A resident of Beit Ummar} then released him at a later time.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month.
• The Israeli military broke the cease fire agreement by raiding opened fire towards North Gaza and Khan Yunis Districts.
• Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Raid

At 12:15 on May 31st 2016, Israeli forces escorting Military Bulldozers stormed 150m into the vicinity of North east Beit Hanun and levelled a plot of land then withdrew at 18:30

Land Levelling

Israeli forces levelled a plot of land in North east Beit Hanun.

Attack

(i) At 08:30, on May 31st 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in West Beit Lahiya and as result injured a fishermen and temporarily detained 5 others including the injured fishermen: Rajab Khaled Khaled Abu Rayalah, Khaled Abu Rayalah, Hassan Mohammad Maqdad, Mohammad Maqdad Mohammad Bashir Abu Rayalah then released them at a later time as well as confiscating 2 fishing boats.
(ii) At 13:00 on May 31st 2016, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Waha area locate in North West Beit Lahiya

Injuries

The injured fishermen is Rajab Khaled Khaled Abu Rayalah.

Temporary Detention

Israeli forces temporarily detained Rajab Khaled Khaled Abu Rayalah, Khaled Abu Rayalah, Hassan Mohammad Maqdad, Mohammad Maqdad Mohammad Bashir Abu Rayalah then released them at a later time

Confiscation of Property

Israeli forces confiscated 2 fishing boats off the shores of off the shores of Al-Sudaniya area in West Beit Lahiya.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

Detention

At 22:00 on May 31st 2016, Israeli forces detained a Unidentified resident in east Jaher Al-Dik town as he was attempting to climb the border fence into Israel.

KHAN YUNIS

Raid

At 06:45 on June 1st 2016, Israeli forces escorting military bulldozers stormed 100m into east Al-Qarara town and levelled a plot of land.

Land Levelling

Israeli forces levelled a plot of land in east Al-Qarara town.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
