The following summary tables and overview of events survey hostile Israeli activities during the period 01 August 2020 to August 31 2020. The report includes a summary table of events, classified by type, throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, in addition to a comparative table surveying events over the past three months. The survey is compiled from the Daily Situation Reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Negotiations Affairs Department (NAD) of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The PMG monitors ground conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, including Israeli and Palestinian violations. The information reported through the PMG process represents data available at the time of distribution only.

During the month of August 2020 Israeli Authorities deported 14 residents from their place of residence which included the following: On 02/08/2020, the occupying authorities in Jerusalem issued a decree banning Mohammed Najib, a resident of the Old City of Jerusalem, for six months from al-Aqsa Mosque, as a condition of his release after arresting him earlier. On 06. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in Jerusalem issued a decree to banning Muhannad al-Ansari (one of the guards of al-Aqsa Mosque) for four months from al-Aqsa Mosque. On 13/08/2020, the occupying authorities in Jerusalem issued a decree to banning Nohad al-Zugair, residents of Jerusalem, for a week from al-Aqsa Mosque, as a condition of his release after he had been arrested earlier. On 14/08/2020, the occupation authorities in Jerusalem imposed a one-week deportation of Mustafa Abu Muzem from al-Aqsa Mosque as a condition for his release after arresting him earlier. On 16/08/2020, the occupying forces in Jerusalem handed over a decision to remove the governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith, from the West Bank governorates for six months, after summoning him to investigate the detention and interrogation center in The Moscobiya. On 18. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in Jerusalem imposed the deportation of Tarek Abu Sabitan, a resident of Jerusalem, for 10 days from al-Aqsa Mosque, as a condition for his release after arresting him earlier. On 19. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in Jerusalem imposed the deportation of Ahmed al-Dalal (one of the guards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque), for 3 months from al-Aqsa Mosque. On 19/08/2020, the occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem imposed deportation on 2 citizens (one of whom is a citizen), namely: Mwatana - Zeenat Abu Subaih (Head of the Guards Department at Al-Aqsa Mosque), and citizen - Imran Al-Mosthor (employee in the Reconstruction Committee at Al-Aqsa Mosque), For a period of 5 days from the Old City of Jerusalem, as a condition for their release after they were arrested earlier. On 21 August 2020, the occupation authorities in Jerusalem imposed deportation of the citizen: Mustafa Abu Ramz, for a period of 6 months from Al-Aqsa Mosque. On 21 August 2020, the occupation authorities in Jerusalem imposed the deportation of the citizen: Ali Ajaj, for a week from Al-Aqsa Mosque. On 08/24/2020, the occupation authorities in Jerusalem imposed the deportation of the citizen: Ahed Al-Rishq - residents of the city of Jerusalem, for a period of 15 days from the Old City of Jerusalem, as a condition for his release after arresting him earlier. On 08/25/2020, the occupation authorities in Jerusalem imposed the deportation of the child: Ahed Al-Rishq, for a period of 15 days from the Old City of Jerusalem, as a condition for his release after they arrested him earlier. |

Analysis of Events
Killings
A total of 3 residents were killed by Israeli forces during the month of August 2020 {3 in the West Bank and 0 in Gaza}:
- On 07. 08. 2020: Dalia Ahmed Suleiman Samudi, 23, resident of Jenin, was killed by a live bullet sustained by the occupying forces.
- On 17/08/2020, the occupying forces near Bab Hatta (one of the doors leading to the Al-Aqsa Mosque) in the Old City of Jerusalem opened fire at Ashraf Hassan Atallah Halsa, 30, residents of the eastern town of Sawahra, on the pretext of stabbing a policeman.
- On 19/08/2020, the occupying forces opened fire on three children near the entrance to Deir Abu Mashal village, killing one of them: Mohammed Damer Hamdan Matar, 16. After being seriously injured in an Israeli hospital, 2 others were injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
Injuries
A total of 64 injuries were reported in the month of August 2020 {52 Palestinians in the West Bank and 12 in the Gaza Strip).
Including 3 children, 3 Women, 1 Paramedic and 1 special needs patient.
Arrests
During the month of August 2020, the Israeli military arrested 382 Palestinians (381 in the West Bank and 1 in the Gaza Strip). The majority of arrests took place in the districts of Jerusalem (90); Ramallah (63); Jenin (35); Tubas (4),Tulkarem (27); Qalqiliya (14); Nablus (40); Salfit (14); Jericho (8); Bethlehem (44); Hebron (42),and Gaza (1).Among those arrested by the Israeli military were 15 children, 6 Women, 2 University students, 4 Security Force Officers and 1 Special Needs patient.
Closure
Especially on Fridays, the Israeli military continues to intensify restrictions at checkpoints located at the entrances of Jerusalem, and to restrict entrance to the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem, preventing worshippers from accessing the Mosque. At the Qalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem, the Israeli military continues to prevent PNA registered civilian vehicles from crossing the checkpoint towards Ar Ram and Qalandiya as well as Dahiyat al Bareed. The checkpoint is overcrowded daily, particularly during rush hours, due to intensified restrictions and search measures applied by Israeli troops. During the month of August 2020,he Israeli military also continued to intensify restrictions at the Tayasir checkpoint and Al Hamra junction checkpoint leading to the Jordan Valley area, only allowing access to civilians whose IDs indicate District of Jericho residence or others holding special access permits. In addition, restrictions were intensified and civilian access was obstructed at the Za’tara junction checkpoint (separating the northern and central West Bank districts) as well as at the As Sawahira ash Sharqiya (the ‘Container’) checkpoint (separating the central and southern West Bank districts).
The Israeli military installed 437 flying checkpoints in August 2020 (307 in July 2020 compared with 408 in June 2020 and as a result restricted the free access and movement of residents, merchant supplies and agricultural goods.

Raids
The Israeli military carried out a total of 319 raids in Palestinian residential areas during the month of August 2020, including 316 in the West Bank and 3 in the Gaza Strip. The majority of Israeli military raids were reported to have taken place in the districts of Jerusalem (33); Ramallah (54); Jenin (34); Tubas (10); Tulkarem (24); Qalqiliya (16); Nablus (38); Salfit (17); Jericho (8); Bethlehem (30); Hebron (52), North Gaza (1), Khan Yunis (1) and Rafah (1).
Attacks
A total of 232 attacks were reported to have taken place during the month of August 2020 (116 in the West Bank and 116 in the Gaza Strip).

Attacks on residential areas in West Bank and Gaza districts
Home Demolition
During the month of August 2020, the Israeli military demolished 40 Palestinian homes and residential tents, which consisted of the following:
- On 03/08/2020, the occupation authorities in the Ain al-Louza area in the Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem city forced the citizen: Iyad Abu Subaih to personally demolish his home, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in case the occupation authorities carried out the demolition. Under the pretext of not being licensed.
- On 03/08/2020, the occupation authorities in Jabal Al Mukaber neighborhood in Jerusalem city forced the citizen: Issa Allan Uweissat to personally demolish his house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in case the occupation authorities carried out the demolition, under the pretext of not being authorized.
- On the morning of 05/08/2020, the occupation forces demolished in the Ain al-Lozeh area in the Silwan neighbourhood of Jerusalem city, 2 of the homes owned by two citizens: Suleiman al-Qaq and his brother Samer, under the pretext of not having a permit.
- On 05/08/2020, the occupation forces demolished a 50-square-meter house owned by Sherif Amr, in the Ain al-Louza area in the Silwan neighbourhood of Jerusalem, under the pretext of not having a permit.
- On 05. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in the town of Beit Hanina, a citizen, Mohammed Alloun, were forced to demolish his 90-square-meter house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-authorization.
- On 06. 08. 2020 The occupying forces demolished a residential room owned by Hisham Khalil al-Nawaja in wadi Jaheesh area, east of Yatta town.
- On 07. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in The Jabal Al-Mukaber neighbourhood of Jerusalem, the family of the citizen: Sabih Shaqirat, were forced to demolish their 160 square meter (two-storey) house, after notifying it earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-licensing
- On 09. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of Jerusalem, Khaled Abu Ta'aa, were forced to demolish his house himself, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-authorization.
- On 10. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities south of Jerusalem, Ibrahim Sa'ia, were forced to demolish his house himself, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-authorization.
- On 10/08/2020, the occupying forces demolished a 70-square-meter house owned by Basel Fayez Amarna, in addition to demolishing a 250-cubic-meter water tank, under the pretext of not authorizing it.
- On 10/08/2020, the occupying forces demolished a house of about 80 square meters owned by Noman Mohammed Hassan Assaad, on the pretext of not authorizing the settlements of Gush Etzion.
- On 11/08/2020, the occupying forces demolished a residential building consisting of three apartments owned by citizens: Wael al-Tahan, his two brothers Alaa, and Nader, under the pretext of not authorizing them.
- On 11/08/2020, the occupation authorities in the Jabal al-Mukaber neighborhood of Jerusalem forced the citizen, Aziz Alian, to demolish part of his house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-authorization.
- On 11. 08. 2020 the occupying forces demolished the villages of Al-Fakit and Khirbet Mukhara, located southeast of Yatta, two tents used for housing owned by the citizens: Jamil Mahmoud al-Amour, residents of Al-Fakheit village, and Salah Shehada Salama Makhmara, residents of Khirbet Maghrea al-Obaid village.
- On 11. 08. 2020 the occupying forces demolished the village of Susiya, east of Yatta town, a tent used for housing belonging to the citizen, Ahmed Jabr Hammad al-Nawaja.
- On 12. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in al-Tur neighborhood of Jerusalem, Ibrahim Abu Juma, were forced to demolish his 180 square meters (under construction) after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-authorization.
- On 13. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in the Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem, ihab Hassan Khalil Aqeel, were forced to demolish his house himself, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-authorization.
- On 13. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in the village of Sour Baher, the family of Mohammed Duwayat, were forced to demolish part of his house himself, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-authorization.
- On 13. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in the Area of Bir Aouna in the city of Beit Jala, a citizen, Raed Rizk Jawarish, were forced to demolish his house himself, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-authorization and because it is located in the designated area (C) under Israeli control.
- On 14. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in the Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem, Mehdi Abbasi, were forced to demolish his house himself, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-authorization.
- On 18/08/2020, the occupying forces demolished a residential building (under construction of four floors) belonging to the citizen, Aziz Jamil Jaabeis, under the pretext of not authorizing, and on the trail of confrontations with citizens, resulting in the injury of a citizen.
- On 24. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in the village of Tyre Baher, Mohammed Jibril Amira, were forced to demolish his house himself, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-authorization.
- On 25/08/2020, the occupying forces demolished a house belonging to Khaled Mahmoud al-Khalis, under the pretext of not authorizing the permit.
- On 25. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in the village of Sour Baher, the citizens: Mohammed Dabsh and his brother Bilal, were forced to demolish their 280 square meters of houses, after notifying them earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-licensing.
- On 25/08/2020, the occupying forces demolished the Bedouin gathering area in Wadi Al-Siq, east of Ramallah, 8 (Barksat) used to house Bedouin families.
- On 25/08/2020, the occupying forces demolished a house in addition to the sheep breeding houses owned by Mohammed Jabr Rashid Wasaba, under the pretext of not being licensed and located in the Israeli-controlled Area C.
- On 30. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in the Jabal al-Mukaber neighborhood of Jerusalem, Khaled Mahmoud Bashir, were forced to demolish his 50-square-meter house, after notifying him earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-authorization.
- On 31. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in the town of Beit Hanina, citizens: Abdessalam Al-Razem and his brother Uday, were forced to demolish their 65 square meters of houses, after notifying them earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-authorization.
Attack on Public and Private property occurred as follows per District:
Jerusalem:
- On 05. 08. 2020 the occupying forces demolished two agricultural rooms belonging to my family members, Obeid and Abu Juma, and confiscated their equipment, under the pretext of not authorizing them.
- On 05. 08. 2020 the occupying forces demolished a commercial facility belonging to Omar Sheikha, on the grounds of non-authorization, in the Ain Al-Loza area of The Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem.
- On 17. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in the Jabal Al-Mukaber neighborhood of Jerusalem, Ahmed Youssef Shaqirat, were forced to demolish three shops, after notifying them earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-authorization.
- On 19. 08. 2020 the occupying forces demolished in the town of Hazma, sura (under construction) surrounding a 2-dunum plot of land, under the pretext of not authorizing.
- On 22. 08. 2020 The occupation authorities in the Silwan neighborhood of Jerusalem, a citizen, Ghaleb al-Abbasi, were forced to demolish the foundations of a house, after it had notified it earlier, in order to avoid paying heavy fines in the event of the demolition by the occupation authorities, on the grounds of non-authorization.
- On 23. 08. 2020 the occupying forces demolished east of the village of Al-Issawiya, facilities and (Brixat) owned by the citizen: Mohammed Abdel Muheisen, under the pretext of not authorizing.
Jenin:
- On 10/08/2020, the occupying forces demolished a 250-cubic-meter water tank owned by The Citizen, Bassel Fayez Amarna, in addition to demolishing his house, under the pretext of not authorizing it.
- On 27/08/2020, the occupying forces demolished a building (bakery- under construction) owned by Rami Ahmed Abu Shaykh, on the grounds of non-authorization.
Tubas:
- On 04. 08. 2020, The occupying forces in the Red Ras area in the northern Jordan Valley have received notices of suspension of work in sheep breeding facilities and sheds owned by the citizens: Jamil Suleiman Bani Odeh, Sa'id Saqr Bani Odeh, and Mohammed Issa al-Jahalin, under the pretext of not authorizing them to be located in the designated area (C) under Israeli control.
- On 20. 08. 2020, the occupying forces demolished the village of Khirbet Atouf, (Barksa) with an area of 150 square meters owned by khalil Khalaf Bani Odeh, under the pretext of not authorizing.
Jericho:
- On 05. 08. 2020 the occupying forces uprooted about 100 palm seedlings belonging to the citizen, Anwar Abu Jouda, in the Khirbet Allan area near the village of Al-Jaftlik.
- On 06. 08. 2020 The occupying forces demolished the village of Al-Jaftlik, three water pools, each of which fed about 70 dunums of agricultural land owned by the citizens: Munir Nassasra and Yasser Zubeidi.
- On 25/08/2020, the occupying forces demolished the village of Al-Awaja, in addition to a house owned by Mohammed Jabr Rashid Wasaba, under the pretext of not being licensed and located in the Israeli-controlled Area C.
Bethlehem:
- On 01/08/2020, the occupying forces in the Ain Jouiza area of the village of Al-Walaja handed down notices of the suspension of work on the construction of houses, support walls and a water well, on the grounds that they were not licensed and located in the Israeli-controlled Area C.
- On 07. 08. 2020 The occupying forces in the village of Al-Mania, south of Taqwa town, received notices of suspension of work on the construction of two houses owned by citizens: Assaf Adel al-Farroukh and his brother Issa, under the pretext of not authorizing.
- On 11/08/2020, the occupying forces in the area of Khalat al-Nahla, near the village of Wadi Rahal, bulldozed an area of agricultural land estimated at 2.5 dunums owned by the citizen Amer Abu Zagrat, uprooted about 100 olive seedlings, and demolished the walls of a call in its vicinity.
- On 12. 08. 2020 The occupying forces demolished the village of Al-Numan, east of Beit Sahour, (Barxa), used to raise sheep belonging to the citizen Yusuf al-Darawi, under the pretext of not authorizing.
Hebron:
- On 04. 08. 2020 The occupying forces in the village of Susiya, east of Yatta town, have received notices of suspension of work on the construction of 2 houses and a sheep breeding barn owned by the citizens: Hussein Radhi Al-Nawaja and Khader Juma al-Nawaja, under the pretext of not being licensed and located in the Israeli-controlled Area C.
- On 16/08/2020, the occupying forces demolished al-Mufar, east of yatta town, 2 of the "Al-Barksat" belonging to Mahmoud Khalil Abu Qbita, and his son Ismail.
- On 24. 08. 2020 the occupying forces in the village of Perrin handed over five citizens: Akram Jibril Abu Daoud, Fawzi Abu Muzem, Harbi, Ismail, and Imran Burgan, notices of suspension of work on their land.
Confiscation of Property:
Ramallah & Al-Bireh:
On 25/08/2020, the occupying forces in the town of Bir Zeit confiscated a private vehicle belonging to Fadi Hamad Ghanem, during his arrest.
Qalqiliya:

On 10/08/2020, the occupying forces in the village of Yasov confiscated a bulldozer belonging to the citizen, Acer Hamada, residents of the northern town of Asira in Nablus governorate, while working on agricultural roads.
Hebron:

• On 10. 08. 2020 The occupying forces in the area of The Arab Al-Kholi Gathering, east of the town of Kafr Thaaa, bulldozed an area of agricultural land, and began digging a water transmission line in preparation for control of the land.
• On 12/08/2020, the occupying forces in the Khala Ghneim and Qaniya areas, located in the eastern part of iskaka village, bulldozed an area of citizens' land confiscated earlier by the occupying forces, with the aim of expanding the settlement outpost "Novi Nehemiah" on the land of the villages of Yasov and Iskaka.
