WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Temporary Detention

On January 1st 2019, Israeli Authorities in Jerusalem city sentenced the child: Alaa Samer Abu Taya {14 years old}{A resident of Silwan neighborhood in Jerusalem city} and imposed a financial penalty as a condition for his release from Israeli Police custody after being detained at an earlier time.

House Demolition

At 07:30, Israeli forces demolished a home owned by Ramzi Al-Shewiky {which was built 5 years ago} located in Qalandiya village near "Atarit" settlement in North Jerusalem city for allegedly being built with out a licence.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 08:30, a group of Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police officers stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound and provoked worshipers.

Settlers Attacks

At 12:15, a group of Israeli settlers assaulted Ismail Abu Wahdan {A bus driver for Egged Bus company}{a resident of Jerusalem city} and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Military Checkpoints

Since 11:35 on December 13th 2018, Israeli forces continued its closure of "Al-Mahkama" military checkpoint located near "Beit El" settlement in North Al-Bireh city {for the 20th consecutive day} and prevented residents and vehicles from crossing the checkpoint in both directions.

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 09:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Ein Sinya village then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 09:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Turmus'aya town then searched residents and vehicles.
3. At 09:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Sinjil town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 18:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Bireh city.

JENIN

Flying Checkpoints

At 05:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Jenin city {located along Haifa road} then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Jenin city and its camps, clashed with several residents in the camp and as a result injured a resident and left 2 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation then detained 3 residents.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Mohammad Adnan Makhrawmi, Ahmad Abdallah Bani Izzat and Ahmad Nidal Al-Nubani during their raid into Jenin city and its camp.

Attack

At 01:00, Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Jenin camp and as a result injured a resident {wounded in the leg} and left 2 others suffocated from tear gas inhalation

Injuries

Israeli forces injured a unidentified resident during clashes in Jenin camp.

Land Levelling

On January 1st 2019, Israeli forces stormed Thahr Al-Malah village located behind the wall gate and leveled a plot of land approximately 120 dunums in order to expand "Shaqed" settlement.

TUBAS

Military Checkpoints

At 11:10, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at "Tayassir" military checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

At 02:55, Israeli forces raided Tubas city and Tayassir village then detained a resident in Tubas city.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Khalid Raed Na'im Daraghma in Tubas city.

QALQILIYA

Flying Checkpoints

At 14:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Izbit Al-Tabib village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 09:00, Israeli forces raided Qalqiliya city.
2. At 13:00, Israeli forces raided Hablat town.
3. At 14:10, Israeli forces raided Kafr Qaddum village, clashed with several residents and as a result injured 2 residents and detained 4 residents {including a child}.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 4 residents: Fadel Muhammad Nimer Shteiwi, Alaa Mohammed Nimer Shteiwi, Tarek Nabil Ali {16 years old}, and Sabri Atta Shteiwi during clashes in Kafr Qaddum village.

Attack

At 14:10, Israeli forces fired live ammunition, rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas canisters towards several residents for alleged stoning during their raid into Kafr Qaddum village and as a result injured 2 residents and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation.

Injuries

Israeli forces injured 2 residents: Yazan Muntasir Barham and Mohammad Adel Ishtwi during clashes in Kafr Qaddum village.

NABLUS

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 15:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Beita town junction then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 17:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Sarah village junction {located along the main road connecting Nablus and Qalqiliya} then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 23:20, Israeli forces raided Beita town and detained a resident.
2. At 00:55, Israeli forces raided Qabalan town, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 02:55.
3. At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Dajjan village and detained a resident.
4. At 02:10, Israeli forces raided Nablus city , Balata and Askar camps, detained 3 residents in Askar camp then withdrew at 05:35.

Detention

1. Israeli forces detained Thaer Rida Ahmad Mir'i {A resident of Bal'a town in Tulkarem district} in Beita town.
2. Israeli forces detained Nidal Khalaf Al-Haj Mohammad in Beit Dajjan village.
3. Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Alaa Samih Mustafa Al Aaraj {A resident of Nablus City}, Amir Mohammed Ahmed Ashtiyeh {A resident of Nablus City} and Omar Ibrahim Al-Tartir {A resident of Askar Camp} during their raids into Askar camp located in Nablus city

Settlers Attacks

At 19:30, a group of Israeli settlers positioned near "Homish" settlement stoned residents and vehicles positioned along the main road connecting Nablus and Jenin then withdrew at 20:30.

SALFIT

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 08:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Kafil Harris town then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 09:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Qarwat Bani Hassan town then searched residents and vehicles.

Detention

At 18:00, Israeli forces positioned at Za'tara junction military checkpoint detained Salah Ibrahim Amer {A resident of Kafr Qalil village in Nablus district}.

JERICHO

Flying Checkpoints

At 20:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho city then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 23:50, Israeli forces raided Al-Oja village until 02:20.

BETHLEHEM

Flying Checkpoints

1. At 17:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Husan village then searched residents and vehicles.
2. At 17:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Nihalin village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 16:40, Israeli forces raided Beit Jallah city.
2. At 01:55, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader town.

Detention

At 08:40, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Issam Ali Hussien Dayriyat and Imad Ali Hussien Dayriyat as they were attending their brothers court hearing at "Ofar" Military base.

HEBRON

Flying Checkpoints

At 18:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Fuwar camp then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

1. At 00:15, Israeli forces raided Al-Thahriya town.
2. At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Beit Kahil town and detained a resident.
3. At 01:05, Israeli forces raided Tarqumiya and Ithna town and Deir Sammit village then stormed a home in Ithna town.
4. At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Sa'ir town and detained 3 residents.
5. At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Beit Ummar town and summoned Warad Awad to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
6. At dawn on January 2nd 2019, Israeli forces raided Al-Arrub camp and detained a resident.

Detention

1. Israeli forces detained Hufaythat Mohammad Abdel-Azziz Zahour in Beit Kahil town.
2. Israeli forces detained 3 residents: Mohammed Musa Abdullah Jaradat, Qusay Nimr Farouk and Wazen Ragheb Farouk Sa'ir town.
3. Israeli forces detained Bashar Yacoub Al-Badawi in Al-Arrub camp.

Land Levelling

On January 1st 2019, Israeli forces stormed Bi'r Al-Basha area in south Hebron city and leveled a plot of agricultural land owned by Zakariya Abu Ajamiya and Imran Abu Ajamiya.

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the seaport and airports and on May 4th 2017, Israeli authorities increased the fishing limit to 9 nautical miles from Wadi Gaza until the south border of the Gaza strip and on June 26th 2017 Israeli forces decreased the fishing limit back to 6 nautical miles and on October 17th 2017, Israeli forces increased the fishing limit back to 9 nautical miles and on December 12th 2017 reduced fishing area from 9 nautical miles to 6 nautical miles south of Wadi Gaza and opposite to Rafah and on July 17th 2018, Israeli forces reduced the fishing area from 6 nautical miles to 3 nautical miles, On August 15th 2018, Israeli forces increased the fishing area from 3 nautical miles up to 9 nautical miles from the coast of Al-Badeir area located in Central Gaza up to Rafah district located South of the Gaza strip and on October 6th 2018, Israeli forces decreased the fishing limit to 3 nautical miles to the all Gaza strip coasts and on October 23rd 2018 increased the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles to the all Gaza strip coasts.
• The Israeli Military broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Central Gaza,Khan Yunis and Rafah districts.
• Israeli Naval vessels broke the ceasefire agreement by opening fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of North Gaza district.

GAZA STRIP

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Beit Hanun (Erez) crossing is partially open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

Attack

At 10:00 on January 1st 2019, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town, temporarily detained 2 residents then released them after confiscating their fishing boat.

Temporary Detention

At 10:00 on January 1st 2019, Israeli forces temporarily detained 2 residents: Issa Ahmad Al-Sharafi and Mahmoud Issa Ahmad Al-Sharafi {Both are residents of North Gaza district} then released them after confiscating their fishing boat off the shores of Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town.

Confiscation of Property

At 10:00 on January 1st 2019, confiscated a fishing boat after opening fire towards it off the shores of Sudaniya area located in west Beit Lahiya town.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

* Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
* Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack

At 12:45 on January 1st 2019, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in north east Deir Al-Balah city.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

At 08:15 on January 1st 2019, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in east Khuz'a town located in east Khan Yunis city.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

* Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
*Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is open for the exit and entry of residents.
* Sufa Crossing is closed.
* Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is partially open for the entrance of Humanitarian aid, limited supplies of Diesel fuel and construction material for Internationally funded projects.

Attack

At 07:30 on January 1st 2019, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Rafah city.
