Dr. Saeb Erekat on US Decision regarding the US Consulate of Jerusalem

The Trump Administration is making clear that it is working together with the Israeli Government to impose Greater Israel rather than the two-state solution on the 67’ border. The US administration has fully endorsed the Israeli narrative, including on Jerusalem, Refugees, and Settlements. 

The US decision to end the existence of the US Consulate therefore has nothing to do with "efficiency" and a lot to do with pleasing an ideological US team that is willing to disband the foundations of US Foreign Policy, and of the international system, in order to reward Israeli violations and crimes.

Palestine will not be silenced and will take the necessary steps in response whilst reaffirming the fact that the US cannot play any role in peacemaking. The Trump Administration is part of the problem, not part of the solution.
