WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure

(i) On May 24th 2016, The Israeli army intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

Military Checkpoints

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
(iii) At 17:00, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Jaba’ checkpoint located along the main road connecting Jerusalem, Ramallah & Al-Bireh and Jericho Districts then impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

(i) On the morning of May 24th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Eisawiya village, clashed with several residents as they demolished the foundations of a home {under construction} owned by Mohammad Hussein Mustafa and also levelled a plot of land and demolished a concrete fence owned by Ameen Khalaf.
(ii) At 19:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram town and clashed with several residents.

Attack

At 20:00, Israeli forces positioned in Al-Eisawiya village fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Detention

(i) At 04:30 on May 24th 2016, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Sami Abdallah Shamasneh during their raid into Qatana village as mentioned in the previous report.
(ii) At 11:00, Israeli forces detained Ahmad Ali Bshir in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem city.
(iii) At 11:30, Israeli forces detained Ahmad Azam Issa Al-Wahish (A resident of Bethlehem district) for allegedly not having a valid entry permit.
(iv) At 23:00, Israeli forces detained Shukri Mahmoud Hassan Al-Habsah (A resident of Al-Eizariya town) as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
(v) At 08:00, Israeli forces detained Ali Abed Ali Abu Jamal in Jabal Al-Mukabir neighbourhood in Jerusalem city.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 11:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) Since 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement block.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 09:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Beit Ur Al Tahta village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 10:45.
(ii) At 21:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area located between Al-Labban Al-Gharbiya {West Al-Labban} and Ranttis villages then searched residents and vehicles.
(iii) At 22:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Taybeh town junction located along the main road connecting Ramallah and Jericho then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 07:10, Israeli forces raided Al-Mughier village and clashed with several residents.

Detention

(i) At 07:15 on May 24th 2016, Israeli forces detained Asma’a Imad Al-Maghrabi {The wife of a Detainee} during their raid into Turmus’aya town as mentioned in the previous report.
(ii) At 06:20, Israeli forces detained Mahdi Raed Abdel-Azziz {A resident of Turmus’aya town}.
(iii) At 06:55, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Ghazi Al-Adasi {A resident of Silwad}.

Temporary Detention

At 07:10, Israeli forces positioned near the entrance of Deir Abu Mash’al village temporarily detained Mohammad Subhi Al-Barghouthi and Mahmoud Subhi Al-Barghouthi then released them at 07:40.

JENIN

Closure

Since December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.

Flying Checkpoints

At 11:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Arraba town junction then searched residents and vehicles until 14:30.

Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue to close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of main Roads

Since 12:30 on March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Al-Aqaba village with cement blocks

At 18:00, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Tayasir checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and imped the free flow of traffic.

Raid

At 11:10, Israeli forces raided Shukiya neighbourhood in Tulkarem city and set up a checkpoint then withdrew at 12:25.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

Raid

At 11:00, Israeli forces raided Hajja village and detained a resident.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Mohammad Iz Al-Din Masalha in Hajja village.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.

Military Checkpoints

(i) At 15:30, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Beit Furiq checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 16:20.
(ii) At 20:50, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Huwara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 22:10.

Raid

At 03:00, Israeli forces raided Nablus city, Balata and Askar camps, detained 2 residents {University students} after storming their homes and confiscated a computer and a cellular telephone then withdrew at 04:30

Confiscation of Property

Israeli forces confiscated a computer and a cellular telephone in Nablus city.

Detention

(i) At 09:15 on May 23rd 2016, Israeli forces detained Ibrahim Mahmoud Barham Abu Shihadeh during their raid into Huwara town as mentioned in the previous report.
(ii) Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Hamza Ma’moun Ja’arat and Abdel-Rahman Sabti Dweikat {Both University Students} in Nablus city

Destruction of Property

On May 24th 2016, Israeli forces stormed the western area of Qusra village and served military orders for the demolition of 4 water well networks and 3 agricultural storage rooms for allegedly being built without proper licencing because of their location in area C {which is under Israeli Military and administrative control} and gave their owners 45 days before implementation

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Raid

At 23:55, Israeli forces raided Kafr Al-Dik town, stormed and searched several homes , detained 9 residents including a University student then withdrew at 05:35.

(i) At 21:00, Israeli forces positioned near “Arail” settlement detained Mohammad Hashim Shaheen (A resident of Qalqiliya city).
(ii) Israeli forces detained 9 residents: Izat Saleh Ahmad Ali {A University student}, Nabeel Mohammad Yacoub Al-Deek , Hassan Abdel-Kareem Ali Ahmad, Ahmad Rasheed Nimr Ali Ahmad , Ameed Ahmad Abdel-Kareem, Yusef Muslih Nayef Al-Dik, Diya Jasser Aqel Salah, Mohammad Ibrahim Yusef and Yusef Abdel-Wahab Omar Al-Deek in Kafr Al-Dik town.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

(i) Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.
(ii) At 08:45, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at “Ma’ale Ifraryim” checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic until 11:00.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 20:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Oja village then searched residents and vehicles until 21:15.
(ii) At 20:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the south entrance of Jericho city then searched residents and vehicles until 20:50.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.

Military Checkpoints

At 14:00, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Container checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 10:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Teqou’ town then searched residents and vehicles until 12:15.
(ii) At 15:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Beit Fajjar then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 21:20, Israeli forces raided Marah Rabah village and detained a resident.
(ii) At 01:15, Israeli forces raided Harmalah village then stormed and searched a home.
(iii) At 01:15, Israeli forces raided Teqou’ town , stormed and searched several homes and merchant shops, detained a resident and summoned Ahed Rateb Ayesh Al-Badan to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
(iv) At 03:10, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar town detained 2 children after storming and searching their home.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained Ribhi Mohammad Ahmad Shihadeh in Marah Rabah village.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Muhanad Rateb Ayish Al-Badan in Teqou’ town.
(iii) Israeli forces detained 2 children: Abdel-Qadder Sultan Taqatqa (14 years old) and Isam Mohammad Taqatqa (15 years old) in Beit Ummar town

Temporary Detention

At 18:30, Israeli forces positioned at Container checkpoint temporarily detained 2 residents: Mohammad Khaled Thawabteh and Ali Hussein Thawabta {Both residents of Beit Fajjar town} then released them at 22:15.

Settlers Violence

At 00:55, a Israeli settler vehicle ran over the child Adam Raed Odah Hamarat (4 years old) near Husan town and as a result left him hospitalised with contusions.

Injuries

the child Adam Raed Odah Hamarat (4 years old) was injured after he was run over by a Israeli settler vehicle.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Raid

(i) At 02:30, Israeli forces raided Beit Ulla town and stormed a home.
(ii) At 02:35, Israeli forces raided Yatta town, stormed 3 homes and summoned 2 residents: Yasser Othman Abu Arram and Nassri Hassan Abu Shamsiya to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.

Detention

(i) At dawn on May 24th 2016, Israeli forces detained Yazan Tariq Al-Rajabi {A resident of Hebron city}.
(ii) At 20:00, Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Mohammad Al-Tubasi near Al-Fuwar junction.
(iii) At 20:00, Israeli forces detained Na’im Oda Al-Rajabi near the south area of Hebron city.

Attack

At 19:40, Israeli forces positioned in the south area of Hebron city fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• Since 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
(iv) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is is open for the entry Humanitarian assistance.
