Daily Report April 22nd 2016

(i) At 24:00 on April 21st 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
(iii) At 13:20, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Jaba’ checkpoint located along the main road connecting Jerusalem, Ramallah and Jericho districts and impeded the free flow of Traffic.

At 21:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the North entrance of Hizma village then searched residents and vehicles.

At 13;30, Israeli forces positioned in Abu Dis town fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

At 20:30, Israeli forces detained Amro Abu Arfat after storming his home in Ras Al-Amoud neighbourhood in Jerusalem city.
(ii) At 02:30, Israeli forces detained 15 residents: Omar Al-Za’anin, Thaer Al-Zaghir, Ahmad Al-Hashlamoun, Mohammad Najeeb, Ahmad Al-Rajabi, Mahmoud Dweik, Ahmad Boumi, Mohammad Ziyad, Ma’moun Al-Hasheem, Ma’moun Mana, Ahmad Badriya, Mohammad Jaber, Ahmad Al-Shawish and Mahmoud Al-Shawish in Jerusalem city.

At 09:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) At 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.

(i) At 16:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Atarah town bridge the searched residents and vehicles until 16:55.
(ii) At 20:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Taybeh town junction along the main road connecting Ramallah and Jericho Districts then searched residents and vehicles.
(iii) At 23:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Ni’lin town and detained a resident.

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan.

On April 20th 2016, Israeli forces detained Mohammad Abdel-Kareem Qubha (A resident of Barta’a village).

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

At 20:15, Israeli forces raided Azzun town

At 12:00, Israeli forces detained Husni Ghalib Tawfiq Walweil (A resident of Qalqiliya city) as he was attempting to climb the border fence into Israeli searching for employment.

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(ii) Since 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
(iv) Since 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.

At 01:45, Israeli forces raided Assira Al-Qibliya village and detained a resident.

Israeli forces detained Majed Smeeh Daraghmeh in Assira Al-Qibliya village.

At 01:30, Israeli settlers stormed the area located between Orif and Assira Al-Qibliya villages assaulted Ma’moun Ahed Mohammad Ahmad (A resident of Assira Al-Qibliya village) leaving him hospitalised with contusions.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

At 01:10, Israeli forces raided Kafr Ad Dik town until 02:30.

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.
(ii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iii) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(iv) At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
(v) On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main entrance gate leading to Um Al-Rakaba area in Al-Khader.
(vi) At 22:40 on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed all entrances of Beit Fajjar town and prevented residents from entering or exiting the town.
(vii) At 12:25 on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the north entrance of Marah Rabah village which leads to Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.

(i) At 08:35, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Jallah then searched residents and vehicles until 13:10.
(ii) At 09:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint Aqbat Hasnah area in Husan village then searched residents and vehicles until 13:30.
(iii) At 09:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Teqou’ then searched residents and vehicles until 13:30.

(i) At dawn on April 21st 2016, Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar town and assaulted Fatima Hassan Khalil Taqatqa and as a result left her hospitalized with contusions.
(ii) At 18:15, Israeli forces raided Teqou’ town and detained a child.

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Shuhada’ Street, Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.
(iv) At 14:30 on April 15th 2016,Israeli forces closed the Main road leading to Al-Aroub camp with dirt mounds.

(i) At 02:20, Israeli forces raided Beit Ummar then stormed and searched several homes.
(ii) At 02:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Aroub camp.
(iii) At 03:00, Israeli forces raided Surif town then stormed and searched a home.

At 14:00, A vehicle driven by a Israeli settler ran over the child Alaa Ghalib Mohammad Al-Rajabi (17 years old) along the main road near Al-Ibrahimi mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and as a result left him hospitalized with contusions.

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.
