WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure

(i) On April 6th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

Military Checkpoints

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.

Flying Checkpoints

At 14:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near the entrance of Hizma village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 00:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram town until 03:20.

Detention

(i) At 09:00, Israeli forces positioned in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem detained Hazim Siyam.
(ii) At 09:00, Israeli forces positioned in the old city of Jerusalem detained Ruwayda Al-Qawasmeh (A resident of Jerusalem) as she exited Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(iii) At 22:40, Israeli forces positioned at Jaba’ checkpoint detained Majdi Suliman Majed Attiya (A resident of Kafr Ni’meh village in Ramallah District).
(iv) At 04:00 on April 7th 2016, Israeli forces detained 2 residents: Dalal Al-Hashlamoun and Ayda Al-Saydawi after storming their homes in the old city of Jerusalem.

House Demolition

On April 6th 2016, Israeli forces forced Shireen Al-Saydawi to demolish a section of her home (consisting of 2 rooms built out of wood and Aluminum) in Beit Hanina town in Jerusalem then imposed a hefty financial penalty for allegedly being built without a license.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 08:30, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices.

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) Since 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.

Military Checkpoints

At 13:35, Israeli forces closed Al-Mahkama checkpoint located near “Bet El” settlement in the north area of Al-Bireh city and impeded the free flow of traffic until reopening it at a later time.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 15:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Atarah bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 16:50.
(ii) At 15:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Ein Sinya village roundabout (along the main road connecting Ramallah and Nablus) then searched residents and vehicles.
(iii) At 19:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint along Yabroud village bridge then searched residents and vehicles until 20:00.
(iv) At 21:15, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Um Safa village then searched residents and vehicles until 21:40.
(v) At 21:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Sinjil town then searched residents and vehicles until 22:00.

Raid

(i) At 04:30 on April 6th 2016, Israeli forces raided Ni’lin town and detained 4 residents (including 2 children).
(ii) At 02:35, Israeli forces raided Beit Illou village, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 03:10.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 4 residents: Abdallah Ameen Abdel-Mu’ti Sarour (16 years old), Haytham Sa’ed Jameel (16 years old), Abdallah Jamal Saleem and Othman Hassan Al-Khawajah in Ni’lin town.

Attack

At 21:25, Israeli forces positioned near the bypass road in Khirbithat Al-Misbah village fired stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning.

Destruction of Property

At 01:10, Israeli forces stormed Al-Muhalil area in Ni’lin town and demolished a vehicle repair shop owned by Mohammad Izzat Istih and also demolished Chicken slaughter house owned by Du’a Issa Abdel-Ghani Sarour.

JENIN

Closure

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan and the south entrance of Ya’bad.

Flying Checkpoints

At 15:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Al-Yamoun town junction then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

At 06:00, Israeli forces raided Jenin Camp and detained 2 residents including a child.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Ameen Faraheet (17 years old) and Omar Nafe’ Al-Sa’di in Jenin camp.

Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of main Roads

Since March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Aqaba village with cement blocks.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

At 09:05 and again at 15:40, Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 17:00.

Raid

(i) At 14:30, Israeli forces raided Beit Lid town until 14:50.
(ii) At 02:50, Israeli forces raided Kafr Jamal village and detained a resident

Detention

(i) On April 5th 2016, Israeli forces positioned at a checkpoint in the area between Tulkarem and Nablus cities detained Yusef Shihadeh Yusef Khalil (A resident of Nur Al-Shams camp in Tulkarem city).
(ii) Israeli forces detained Issa Hassan Abdel-Lattif Tubat in Kafr Jamal village.

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 12:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Azzun town then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 13:00, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Azzun Town Bridge located along the main road connecting Qalqilya and Tulkarem then searched residents and vehicles.
(iii) At 13:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Hablah town Tunnel located at the south entrance of Qalqiliya town then searched residents and vehicles.
(iv) At 13:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the east entrance of Qalqiliya then searched residents and vehicles.
(v) At 18:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Jit village junction then then searched residents and vehicles until 20:30.

Raid

At 03:00 on April 6th 2016, Israeli forces raided Assala village and detained a A National Security force officer.

Detention

Israeli forces detained Malik Billal Ahmad Rabi in Asalah village.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the southern entrances of Qaryut village.
(ii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iii) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
(iv) At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.

Military Checkpoints

At 18:55, Israeli forces intensified its restrictions at Beit Furiq checkpoint until 20:20.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 11:05, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Deir Sharaf village junction then searched residents and vehicles until 13:30.
(ii) At 18:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Qusra and Jurish villages then searched residents and vehicles until 22:45

Raid

(i) At 02:35, Israeli forces raided Qabalan town then stormed and searched 3 homes.
(ii) At 00:20, Israeli forces raided Nablus city as they escorted a group of Israeli settlers who stormed Joseph’s Tomb during which they clashed with several residents and as a result injured Ismail Amjad Abdel-Kareem then withdrew at 05:50.

Detention

A t 02:50 on April 6th 2016, Israeli forces detained 4 residents: Abdel-Rahman Mohammad Bashrawi, Hatem Firas Al-Zaghaht, Bara Ghassan Thuqan and Abdallah Jihad Bani Odeh during their raid into Nablus city in addition those mentioned in the previous report.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Military Checkpoints

At 18:55, Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

At 08:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near“Ariel” settlement junction then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 13:55, Israeli forces raided Rafat village until 15:00.
(ii) At 01:00, Israeli forces raided Bidya then stormed and searched a home.

Detention

At 16:00, Israeli forces detained Othman Hassan Balasmeh (A resident of Salfit city) as he was reporting to Israeli Intelligence for questioning based on a prior summon.

Temporary Detention

(i) At 12:25, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara junction checkpoint temporarily detained Mohammad Hashim Fahed Awad (A National Security Force officer) then released him at a later time.
(ii) At 17:20, Israeli forces positioned at Za’tara junction checkpoint temporarily detained Abdel-Rahman Wadah Al-Sharouti (A resident of Iraq Ataya village in Nablus district) then released him at 17:45.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

At 07:30, Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.

(iii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iv) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(v) At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
(vi) On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main steel entrance gate leading to Um Al Rakaba area in Al-Khader town.
(vii) At 22:40 on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed all entrances leading to Beit Fajjar thus preventing residents or vehicles from entering or exiting.
(viii) At 12:25 on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Marah Rabah village.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 10:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Waljah village then searched residents and vehicles until 13:15.
(ii) At 17:40, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Harmalah village then searched residents and vehicles.
(iii) At 00:25, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint near Dar Salah village located at the east entrance of Beit Sahour then searched residents and vehicles until 01:50.

Raid

At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader then stormed and searched several homes.

Temporary Detention

At 14:50, Israeli forces positioned near Al-Nashash area junction located at the south entrance of Bethlehem city temporally detained 3 children: Mu’tasim Omar Mohammad Issa (14 years old), Abdel-Rahman Yassin Da’dou’ (14 years old) and Obaydah Mahmoud Ismail Mahmoud (14 years old) {All residents of Al-Khader} then released them at a later time

House Demolition

At 08:20, Israeli forces stormed Al-Khader town then occupied a home owned by Mohammad Ibrahim Salah then converted its rooftop into a Military Post.

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Flying Checkpoints

At 20:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Bani Na’im town then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At dawn on April 6th 2016, Israeli forces raided Al-Burj village and detained a resident.
(ii) At 11:50, Israeli forces raided Khursa village, stormed a vehicle rental lot office and summoned its owner: Mohammad Mahmoud Hamdan to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning.
(iii) At 00:35, Israeli forces raided Al-Thahriya town, stormed and searched a home and took measurements of a home owned by Suhban Mahmoud Wael Al-Teti then withdrew at 04:30.
(iv) At 05:45, Israeli forces raided Surif town and detained a resident.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained Ahmad Amin Mohammad Amereh in Al-Burj village.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Othman Talib Abu Farah in Surif town.

House Demolition

At 14:00, Israeli forces stormed Al-Simiya village located west Al-Samou’ town demolished a home and a livestock den owned by Shihadeh Ghazi Yassin Al-Daghamin.

Settlers Violence

On April 6th 2016, a Israeli settler driving a vehicle along the bypass road in Jabal Jalis area located in east Hebron city ran over the child Du’a Ziyad Jaber (10 years old) and as s result left hospitalised with contusions and fractures.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month and at 03:00 on April 3rd 2016, the first phase for increasing the fishing limit from 6 nautical miles to 9 nautical miles stretching from Wadi Gaza shores to the Palestinian-Egyptian border in south Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
(iv) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry Humanitarian assistance.
