WEST BANK

JERUSALEM

Closure

(i) On April 5th 2016, the Israeli army, intensified their restrictions at the entrance to Jerusalem city, set up several flying checkpoints on the main road leading to the city and prevented worshipers under the age of 50 from conducting prayers at Al-Aqsa mosque compound which forced residents to conduct prayers near checkpoints located outside Al-Aqsa mosque compound.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the ‘demarcation area’ along the Wall in the area surrounding occupied East Jerusalem and restricts access to local residents as well as to civilians holding special permits.
(iii) The Israeli army continues to impose a blockade and deny civilian access to a hill between Biddu and Beit Iksa villages.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks and dirt mounds the entrance to Jaba’ village.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the eastern entrance to Beit Iksa village and forces civilians to access Jerusalem city through Qalandiya checkpoint.

Military Checkpoints

(i) Israeli authorities continue to consider Qalandiya checkpoint a “border crossing point” and designate a special crossing lane for holders of Jerusalem IDs and another for those possessing permits to access Jerusalem city.
(ii) On September 19th 2012, Israeli forces closed Ras Khamis checkpoint near Shu ‘fat camp and impeded the free flow of traffic in order to construct the wall.
(iii) At 13:00, Israeli forces closed Jaba’ checkpoint located along the main road connecting Jerusalem , Ramallah & AL-Bireh and Jericho districts and impeded the free flow of traffic until reopening it at a later time.

Raid

At 20:30, Israeli forces raided Al-Ram town, clashed with several residents then withdrew at 22:40.

Detention

(i) At dawn on April 5th 2016, Israeli forces detained the child Mohammad Issa Al-Darawish (15 years old) during their raid into Al-Eisawiya village in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.
(ii) At 22:00, Israeli forces detained Oday Omaran Obied (A resident of Al-Eisawiya village as he was reporting to Israeli Police officers based on a prior summon.
(iii) At 23:00, Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Ahmad Ibrahim (A resident of Anabta town) as he was working in Shu’fat camp in Jerusalem.

Obstruction of Places of Worship

At 09:00, Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli Military and Police forces stormed Al-Aqsa mosque compound in the old city of Jerusalem and provoked worshipers.

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with cement blocks the Wall gate in Abu Dis town.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to deny civilian access through the Wall gate on Al-Shayyah road in the area between Al-Sawahira Al-Sharqiya and Al-Slewahira Al-Gharbiya villages, only allowing civilians holding Jerusalem IDs to cross, after subjecting them to thorough searches using electronic devices

RAMALLAH & AL BIREH

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the entrances to Sinjil village well as the junction to Kafr Malik and ‘Ein Samiya villages
(ii) Since 24:00 on February 14th 2016, closed the main road near the entrance of “Bet El” settlement which leads to Al-Jalazoun camp with cement blocks for alleged gunfire.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 15:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at Atarah bridge then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 18:45, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint beneath Khirbithet Al-Misbah village then searched residents and vehicles.
(iii) At 18:55, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Beit Ur At Tahta village then searched residents and vehicles until 01:00.

Raid

(i) At 04:00 on April 5th 2016, Israeli forces raided Deir Ammar village, stormed and searched 2 homes, confiscated a vehicle owned by Mu’taz Mohammad Bahat (A Palestinian Detainee).
(ii) At 02:45, Israeli forces raided Ni’lin town, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes then withdrew at 06:45.

Confiscation of Property

Israeli forces confiscated a vehicle owned by Mu’taz Mohammad Bahat (A Palestinian Detainee) in Deir Ammar village .

JENIN

Closure

On December 24th 2015, Israeli forces closed off the area {900m wide and 100m long} along the main road connecting Jenin and Tulkarem leading to south Ya’bad and installed a barbed wire fence around the area and declared the area a closed military zone.

Closure of main Roads

The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the road leading to the town of ‘Arraba east of the illegal settlement Dotan and the south entrance of Ya’bad.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 23:30, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Masliya village then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 23:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Al-Jabra and Sanour villages then searched residents and vehicles

Raid

(i) At 21:30, Israeli forces raided Ya’bad town, stormed a home and assaulted Yahya Abu Shamaleh.
(ii) At 01:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Zawiya village.

Physical Assault

Israeli forces assaulted Yahya Abu Shamaleh in Ya'bad town.

Closure of Wall Gates

Israeli forces continue too close the wall gate and only allow those holding special permits to enter through it.

TUBAS

Closure of Roads

Since March 15th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Aqaba village with cement blocks.

Raid

(i) At 11:30, Israeli forces raided Tayassir village until 14:00.
(ii) At 19:15, Israeli forces raided Atouf village.

TULKAREM

Military Checkpoints

At18:50, Israeli forces continue to intensify their restrictions at “Eniv” checkpoint located along the main road connecting Tulkarem and Nablus and impeded the free flow of traffic until 22:00.

Flying Checkpoints

At 18:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint then searched residents and vehicles until 21:40.

Raid

At 01:30, Israeli forces raided Tulkarem town until 05:50.

Attack

At 18:50, Israeli forces positioned near the wall gate in Shweikiya neighbourhood in Tulkarem city fired live ammunition, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents for alleged stoning

QALQILIYA

Closure of Roads

(i) Israeli forces continue to close with cement blocks agricultural roads east of Azzun town.
(ii) In addition to closing the gate installed since the outbreak the second Intifada, the Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum village.
(iii) Since 10:40 on September 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed an agricultural road leading to Far’ata village which is located near “Gillad” settlement with a steel Gate.

Raid

At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Azzun town and detained 5 residents.

Detention

Israeli forces detained 5 residents: Tamer Sa’id Radwan, Mohammad Sa’id Radwan, Yusef Saqer Saleem, Ghalib Ahmad Saleem and Nidal Jamal Abu Haniya

Closure of Wall Gates

(i) The Israeli army continues to restrict access at ‘Azzun ‘Atma Wall gate and impeded the free flow of traffic. The Israeli army continues to close with an iron gate the entrance to the village of Wadi Al- Rasha and to deny civilian access.
(ii) The Israeli army allows residents to access the village through Gate #109. Having removed the gate at the entrance to the village of Ras Atiya; the Israeli army only allows students to cross to their schools outside the village through the Habla gate.

NABLUS

Closure

Since December 17th 2013, Israeli forces ordered the closure 500 dunumes of land in Qusra village as a closed military area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the roads of Til-Burin and Beit Furik-Salem; the settler bypass road connecting the village of Deir al Hatab to the settlement of Alon Moreh; the road connecting the town of ‘Aqraba to the village of Osrin; and the detour road between the town of Qabalan and the village of Osrin.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the northern entrance to Qabalan town; the southern entrances to the town of Jamma’in and the villages of Duma and Qaryut.
(iii) At 06:30 on November 22nd 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Aqraba and Yanoun village with dirt mounds.
(iv) On November 29th 2015, Israeli forces closed the entrance of Burin, Awarta and Osirin as well as the agricultural bypass road connecting Aqraba and Qabalan village with dirt mounds.
(v) At 13:00 on December 1st 2015, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Tel village and the bypass road near “Yitsahar” settlement and installed a steel gate in the area.
(vi) At 18:30 on January 19th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main road connecting Huwara and Walada village with dirt mounds.

Military Checkpoints

At 19:40, Israeli forces intensified its restrictions at Beit Furiq checkpoint until 20:40.

Raid

(i) At 08:50, Israeli forces raided Huwara town, forced owners of several commercial shop located along the main road to close down then stormed and searched a home for alleged stoning towards a Israeli settler vehicle in the area.
(ii) At 11:15, Israeli forces raided Rujieb village until 11:30.
(iii) At 13:30, Israeli forces raided Beit Dajan village clashed with several residents after storming a home and served a military order for the demolition of a home owned by Na’eem Abu Sarour and a Baracks owned by Nader Al-Haj Mohammad then withdrew at 14:45.
(iv) At 14:25, Israeli forces raided Beit Furiq town, clashed with several residents and as a result injured Munthir Khatatbeh then withdrew at 14:45.
(v) At 01:15, Israeli forces raided Beit Furiq town, clashed with several residents and as a result injured Munthir Hatatbahn then withdrew at 14:45.
(vi) At 02:50, Israeli forces raided Nablus city and Balata camp until 05:25.

Detention

At 00:50, Israeli forces positioned at Huwara checkpoint detained the child Raed Mohammad Ibrahim Shakarah (14 years old) {A resident of Al-Jalazoun camp in Ramallah district}.

Settlers Violence

(i) At 16:25, a group of Israeli settlers positioned at the entrance of Duma village under the protection of Israeli forces who fired rubber coated steel bullets, stun and tear gas grenades towards several residents who attempted to prevent the settlers from entering the village and as a result injured Mohammad Hassan Salawdeh and left several others suffocated from tear gas inhalation then withdrew at 17:55.
(ii) At 10:50, a group of Israeli settler stormed Rujieb village, chased away several farmers from agricultural land during which Israeli forces temporarily detained Ahmad Hafith Dweikat (A Preventive Security Force officer) then released him at a later time.

SALFIT

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close with dirt mounds the entrance to two detour roads connecting Marda village to its farmland.
(ii) Since 11:00 on July 30th 2012, Israeli forces have closed two roads leading to Abu Nasar and Qatan Al-Jama’ located in western area of Deir Istiya with cement blocks.

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces intensified their restrictions at Za’tara checkpoint and impeded the free flow of traffic.

Flying Checkpoints

At 22:10, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint in the area between Al-Zawiya town and Rafat village then searched residents and vehicles.

Raid

(i) At 18:55 and again at 02:40, Israeli forces raided Rafat village, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 03:50.
(ii) At 02:55, Israeli forces raided Salfit town, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched several homes and as a result damaged a vehicle owned by Bassam Bani Namrah and also summoned 2 residents: Othamn Hassan Salamaeh and Hamam Azziz Fatash then withdrew at 05:10.
(iii) At 05:00, Israeli forces raided Deir Ballut town.

JERICHO

Military Checkpoints

Israeli forces continue to intensify its restrictions at Al-Hamra checkpoint set up along the road connecting Jericho and Nablus District.

BETHLEHEM

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close roads to An Nu’man village, with the exception of the road leading to the Wall gate in the south-eastern area of the village.
(ii) Since 15 September 2007, the Israel army has prevented civilians from accessing or staying on 22 dunumes of confiscated land in Al Mazmuriya area in Beit Sahur and Bethlehem cities.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to close the Beit Jala-Wadi Ahmed road; a road between Um Tuba and Al-Jass ; a road between Um Tuba and Khilat Nu’man: a road between Um Tuba and the wall; a road between Al-Khas village and the wall; the 2 by pass roads located south of Al-Walaja; a road between Talita Qumi and Nazlat Al-Sider in Beit Jala; the eastern road of Al-Khader; the road between Al-Khader and Beit Jala ; Wadi Rahal road near “Ifrat” settlement ,the road between Al-Khader and road #60 which lead to the eastern neighbourhoods of Bethlehem; a road leading to Wadi Rahal, and a road east of Beit Fajjar town with dirt mounds.

(iii) Since 10:45 on September 8th 2015, Israeli forces closed the agricultural road located in Arab Al-Rashaydeh village located near “Malee Amous” settlement with dirt mounds.
(iv) Since May 8th 2013, Israeli forces closed the road connecting Al-Carmisan area in Beit Jalla and Al-Walaja with a steel gate and barbed wires.
(v) At 09:15 on February 16th 2016, Israeli forces closed the bypass road connecting Za’tara and Ush Al-Ghurab area located in east Beit Sahur town with dirt mounds.
(vi) On February 25th 2016, Israeli forces closed the main steel entrance gate leading to Um Al Rakaba area in Al-Khader town.
(vii) At 22:40 on March 17th 2016, Israeli forces closed all entrances leading to Beit Fajjar thus preventing residents or vehicles from entering or exiting.
(viii) At 12:25 on March 18th 2016, Israeli forces closed the east entrance of Marah Rabah village.

Flying Checkpoints

(i) At 10:20, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the west entrance of Taqou’ then searched residents and vehicles.
(ii) At 11:50, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint at the entrance of Al-Faradis village then searched residents and vehicles until 12:40.

Raid

(i) At 08:20, Israeli forces raided Al-Duhisheh camp in Bethlehem and detained a resident.
(ii) At 08:30, Israeli forces raided Beit Sahur city, set up a checkpoint in Satih area, demolished a local “Slaughter house” and confiscated a mobile home owned by Issa Khier then withdrew at 13:15.
(iii) At 10:50, Israeli forces raided Al-Obidiya town until 13:15.
(iv) At 01:50, Israeli forces raided Teqou’ town, stormed and searched a home then withdrew at 02:50.
(v) At 02:00, Israeli forces raided Al-Khader town and detained a child.
(vi) At 02:55, Israeli forces raided Bethlehem city and Al-Doha town, clashed with several residents as they stormed and searched a print shop and confiscated equipment owned by Akram Sha’fout thyen withdrew at 05:00.

Detention

(i) Israeli forces detained Abdallah Nayef Ramadan(16 years old) in Al-Duhisheh camp.
(ii) Israeli forces detained Mahmoud Ali Mohammad Issa (17 years old) in Al-Khader town

HEBRON

Closure

(i) The Israeli army continues to close Al-Sahleh and Khuzq Al-Far areas, as well as the old gold market in Hebron’s Old City. In addition to closing the entrance to Al-Qeisi neighbourhood, the Israeli army continues to close the entrances to the area of Al-Hisba (the fruits and vegetables market) with an electronic gate; Al-Laban Market also remains closed.
(ii) Since 05 January 2009, the Israeli army has closed the area located along the Green Line south of the town of Yatta. Having seized land for Wall construction, the Israeli army evicted the Palestinian residents and denied them access to the area.

Closure of main Roads

(i) The Israeli army continues to prohibit Palestinian vehicles from travelling along the old Al-Shalala Street leading to Hebron’s Old City.
(ii) The Israeli army continues to close the bypass road connecting Bani Na’im and Zif village junction with dirt mounds.
(iii) The Israeli Army continues to close the entrance of Beit Ummar (located near the local Cemetery) with dirt mounds.

Raid

(i) At 09:40, Israeli forces raided Al-Fakhit , Al-Markaz, Janba and Al-Majer villages located in south east Yatta town and served military orders to halt construction on 12 homes owned by Al-Hamamdah, Abu Ara, Hushiyehin preparation to demolish them and served military order for the removal of 4 Solar Panels used to generate electricity.
(ii) At 09:50, Israeli forces raided Bani Na’im town, detained a resident and summoned 6 residents: Mohammad Ibrahim Musa, Mohammad Mahmoud Al-Khadour, Murad Mohammad Hayel, Mohammad Hussein Manasrah, Ziyad Ismail Hararshah and Billal Ismail Hararsheh to report to Israeli Intelligence for questioning then withdrew at 15:45.
(iii) At 10:00, Israeli forces raided Hebron city until 15:45.
(iv) At 20:55, Israeli forces raided Surif town, clashed with several residents as they stormed a home and a gas station and confiscated surveillance camera footage from both places and served a military order to demolish a home owned by the family of Mus’ab Mohammad Ghanimat (A Palestinian Detainee) then withdrew at 24:00.
(v) At 07:00, Israeli forces raided Um Al-Khaier village located in east Yatta and demolished 6 livestock dens owned by Adel Suliman Al-Hathalin, Mu’tasim Suliman Al-Hathalin, Khader Suliman Al-Hathalin, Suliman Eid Al-Hathalin, Khayeri Suliman Al-Hathalin and Eid Suliman Al-Hathalin.

Detention

(i) At 24:00 on April 4th 2016, Israeli forces detained Alaa Talib Ahmad Al-Haroub during their raid into Dura town in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.
(ii) At 01:55 on April 5th 2016, Israeli forces detained Anas Muhiesin during their raid into Surif town in addition to those mentioned in the previous report.

GAZA STRIP

ALL DISTRICTS

• At 19:00 on August 26th 2014, Palestinian Gunmen and the Israeli military agreed to a cease fire agreement (brokered by the Arab Republic of Egypt) which includes the opening of border crossings to allow the entry of emergency supplies and humanitarian goods as well as construction material and agreed to increase the fishing limit to 6 nautical miles with possibility of increase to 12 nautical miles by the end of the year and to decrease the Military area to 100 meters, allow freedom of movement and a halt to targeted killings and assassinations and negotiations will be held for discussion on rebuilding the sea port and airports in the coming month and at 03:00 on April 3rd 2016, the first phase for increasing the fishing limit from 6 nautical miles to 9 nautical miles stretching from Wadi Gaza shores to the Palestinian-Egyptian border in south Gaza.

• Israeli forces broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire from their positions behind the Green Line towards Gaza, Central Gaza, Khan Yunis and Rafah.
• Israeli Naval vessels broke the cease fire agreement by opening fire towards Central Gaza.

NORTHERN GAZA

Closure of Crossing Points

Beit Hanun (Erez) is open for the passage of critical patients, journalists, NGO staff, businesspersons and passengers travelling abroad through Al-Karama crossing with previous coordination.

(i) Al-Muntar (Karni) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 02 March 2011, the Crossing has been effectively closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.
(ii) Al-Shija’iya (Nahal ‘Oz) Crossing is closed. Beginning on 04 January 2010, the Crossing has closed following a unilateral Israeli decision.

CENTRAL GAZA

Attack

(i) At 16:55, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Deir Al-Balah city.
(ii) At 21:30, Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Al-Nussirat camp.

KHAN YUNIS

Attack

(i) At 09:30, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land in east Kha’zaa town.
(ii) At 10:15. Israeli Naval vessels opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats off the shores of Khan Yunis city

RAFAH

Closure of Crossing Points

(i) Yasser ‘Arafat International Airport remains closed.
(ii) Rafah (Al ‘Awdah) Crossing is closed
(iii) Sufa Crossing is closed
(iv) Karm Abu Salem (Karem Shalom) Crossing is open for the entry Humanitarian assistance.

Raid

At 07:45 on April 5th 2016, Israeli forces escorting military bulldozers stormed 100m into the vicinity of east Rafah city, levelled a plot of land then withdrew at 12:00.

Attack

(i) At 10:30, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in North east Rafah city.
(ii) At 18:00, Israeli forces positioned behind the Green Line opened fire towards agricultural land located in the vicinity of Sufa Crossing located in North East Rafah.
